Does anyone know if GOOGLE TURN BY TURN NAVIGATION is coming to the IPHONE....

I actually purchased the Navigon, because I wanted cached maps, without needing a network connectivity (because if I'm riding my motorcycle around in the boonies, chances are I'll lose cellular signal more than once). I have to say, it's actually quite smart. Tells me stuff that my Garmin (although that dedicated device is for my car, exclusively :-D) never told me.
Announces T-Junctions, tells me that I'm at a dead end, etc. Honestly, it seems much smarter than my Garmin.

Not opening native application of google maps for iphone application

Hi Everyone,
Before i have iphone 1.4 version and that time i could open native application of maps.google.com which is supported in my iphone application.
Now i am using iphone 2.0 but that native application of maps.google.com for iphone is not opening in iphone application. Its opening but not application application.it open normal site.
But i have to use native application of maps.google.com for iphone because i am doing one apps in which i have to display various various location in iphone.
If any one have idea about this please help me.

The new maps will be on the 4s and it will have siri directing you now, but the new maps is way more improved the google, and fly over is pretty amazing, you get trails and walking paths too its pretty neat! but apple is featuring a all new maps with the ios 6 software

Spanning sync versus google sync for iphone

I am currently using spanning sync. It works great, except you have to connect it by cable to your pc to sync. In 2009 cable connections are a pain in the neck (IMO). I dont like the idea of wiping out all my contacts to switch to google sync. I also hear it only can sync 5 calendars. Is there experience out there with google's version, is it working great ? Are there delays opening the calender or contacts or making changes b/c it syncs with google ? Is the 5 calendar limit true? Would love to not pay for spanning sync if google is working well. Thanks.

I'm using Google Sync, used NuevaSync before that. Synching both calendars (three) and contacts.
Read everything before making a decision. Activating the mobile, turning on synching, choosing default notifications. I did, have no gripes, didn't lose any data.
I also use MobileMe. Google Sync shows the contacts in the My Contacts list on my account; I use Calaborator to sync my contacts into my Address Book - all of my Google Contacts show up in my Address Book on my Mac and Contacts in my iPhone, so I have access to all of them. I can also use the Address Book app to edit my Google Contacts.
Syncing from/to the iPhone is almost instantaneous. Faster than MobileMe's synching, and MM and Google's services are finally getting it.
Spanning Sync? I wouldn't bother.

Recently i found that apple india store does not have the google application and unfortunately i can not download it from any other country itune store. Needs that application please.

Yes Sir, You are right. In India, it would be launched on 22nd August. I thought that if i could send a message to the apple inc. for the same. Futher, i have downloaded some applications on my mac before hand. The price is still very high ($738 for 8Gb and $859 for 16Gb). Still not the people's phone.

I agree. I liked the previous map app. The version 6 app is powered by tomtom, I think. No more street view. I don't care for the new overhead view when dropping a pin. Plus, the current map app doesn't have the local points or data base that the google maps app had. Too bad I can't go back to the old map app.

Usage of Google API for route implementation in the iPhone application

We need to show the maps showing some specific locations and the routes from user's current location to these specific locations. We know that Google provides APIs for getting the route between two locations.
Google has some terms and conditions for using their APIs for route. You can find it on the website http://code.google.com/intl/de/apis/maps/iphone/terms.html (point 10.9).
Can anyone please advice if we can use Google APIs in our iPhone application?

Yea, I think this is a difficult situation. I am trying to really understand the advanced actions she (the person whose project I took over) created, but I cannot find the elements that are mentioned within them. For example, one part of her advanced action is Show Text_Caption_1762, and this text caption is definitely not on the same slide. It might not even be in the project anymore. Who knows. But it would be nice is there was a search box, and I could type in "text_caption_1762", and it could tell me on what slide this was located, if it is still in the project somewhere.

Remote for iPhone 3GS

There are lots of discussions out there and lots of sites (via Google search) regarding iPhone apps that turn your phone into a remote. What I'm looking for however (and having the hardest time finding) is a remote to control my iPhone 3GS. In otherwords, is there a product out there (or does the apple remote maybe do it?) that will allow me to plug my iPhone into a stereo via the headset jack and then switch songs forward/back etc.? Hmmm... I've had two vehicle intergration kits that included remotes. Unfortunately they also included a mount and power plug (cigarette lighter type). They both basically included a receiver that plugged into the dock that the remote "spoke to". I have a hard time accepting that no one has taken the technology and just removed the power plug and mount.

Since purchasing my Mac Pro with retina display, I can no longer change the preferences on MP Navigator for Canon MX870. I can change them on my old Mac Pro with Lion, but not the new one. I can scan but I can't save it to a folder on my hard drive. I can only let it default to a back up date folder. Tried all sorts of things to change the preferences and folders, nothing worked. Ideas?

To prevent your iPhone from automatically syncing when you plug it in, click on iTunes in the menu bar, then preferences, then "devices", then tick "prevent iPhones, iPad's and iPod's from syncing automatically".
Plug it in, then on the iPhone sync summary screen, click "info" along the top.
Make sure the "sync contacts" option is not ticked. as long as it's not ticked, then it won't sync with your mac's contacts but will still include them in backups.
Also, if you use iCloud, make sure that the iPhone/mac are either not signed into the same account, or that "contacts" is not turned on for both of them

MMS Has Arrived For iPhone 3G/3GS

The latest 5.5 Carrier Update has been posted on iTunes. With this carrier update it allows your 3G or 3GS to send and receive MMS. To get the new carrier file connect your phone to your computer, start iTunes and tell iTunes to check for updates for you phone. Some things of note:
This only affects 3G and 3GS iPhones. Apple and AT&T do not support MMS on the 2G (First Generation) iPhone. If you have a 2G and are wanting MMS google is your friend.
After downloading and installing the new carrier file turn off your phone. When it is completely powered off turn it back on. This will allow the changes to take effect.
In order to get the 5.5 carrier file your phone MUST be running the 3.1 OS. If you are stilll using 3.0, 3.0.1 OS or your phone is Jailbroken DO NOT upgrade until the dev team says you can. There are other means to enable MMS on your Jailbroken or even Non Jailbroken 3G and 3GS. Once again google is your friend.
MMS is included in your text messaging plan. There will be no additional costs for sending and receiving MMS if you have a texting plan.
