Google notifier for mac timing out

I have been using Google Notifier for Mac for over 2 years. For the last few days, I has been unable to connect. I get the error "Timed out." My internet connection is fine. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

Problem was on Google's side. Working better now.

Hello. I have a google notifier on my macbook. In the preferences menu, you are able to choose a sound for when you receive a new email. I was able to upload some of my own sound clips on their, and I now have Cary Grant or Spock letting me know I have an email. My mother just got a macbook, and I set it up for her. She wants the sounds for her google notifier as well, I just can't figure out how I can upload the sounds to the google notifier. They are on her hard drive, I just forgot how to do it, and can't figure it out. Does anyone here now how to do it? Thanks.

I am sorry but this isn't something that you can set. The system has timeouts built into the code.

Word for Mac print out shrinks using Epson LX 300+

I've tried adjusting the paper size and margin, the result is the same. Tips?
I'm using Word for Mac 2011 14.3.9

I just googled word for mac 2004 and found the requirements "10.2.8 or higher". There were quite a few changes in Snow Leopard, so a lot of applications which still would work with Leopard no longer work with SL. I also checked this site for SL compatibility and it is not even listed:

WHY GOOGLE EARTH FOR MAC DOES NOT INSTALL ON MY MAC?

I downloaded Google Earth for MAC from official site; worked fine for a week. Then it crashed. No use trying to reinstall: it crashes as soon as the black sky with stars desktop appears.
I trashed original download and downloaded a new one (always from official site). Same results.
Any clue?

There are 120 items with plist extension.
The nearest things to apps preferences (plist) I found in the finder, were a couple of .globalPreferences.plist different in date and a .globalPreferences.(numbers and letters).plist.
Emptied in the trash and rebooted.
Same items now show today's date, and Mac is apparently OK except for need to reconfig mouse and language....
Reloaded Google Earth.
Same early crash at launch.
???Any idea???

TS3899 Custom Domain of Gmail account(google app for business) greyed out(disabled) in iOS7 mail for no reason.

Dear guys,
I have a free/standard version of google app for business with @simmonstaiwan.com.tw as our domain. One of our user's email account one day suddenly cannot access her email account that was already setup in iOS 7 mail app. Only her company gmail acct grey out, her other personal email accounts are working just fine.
First, I thought it was her iPhone5's issue. Therefore I tried to remove the email account and re-added it back. No work. So I thought maybe it's the custome domain gmail account issue. So, I added her email account to my iPhone4s with iOS7 with correct account name and password. Still not working, the account added successful and is enable, but I just cannot click into or onto that account and see any emails. That account name just greyed out for no reason.
So, I grab an iPad with iOS6 on it and added that account onto the machine. It worked!! Looks like that email account(gmail) only worked on iOS6 device but not iOS7. May I know maybe what really caused this to occur?
Any comments or suggestions or thoughts are very welcome and will be helpful for me to debug.

You set it up, and you failed to distinguish between the SMTP servers or assign the correct one to your copy of Mail (it doesn't actually know which is which, you need to inform it)
Open Mail>Preferences>Accounts (NOT Mail>Accounts) and go down to the SMTP server list, choose the correct server for each account then check the box that says 'Use Only This Server' for each account.
This is not automatic, you get to choose and if you don't then this will result.
Remove the non functional ones.

The ATI-branded Radeon HD 3870 for Mac & PC is AMD's first 3000-series card for Macs and also one of the first to explicitly support more than one platform: users can install the card now in either a Mac Pro tower or a Windows PC and swap it to the other platform later, including for Boot Camp. As a new-generation part, the new chipset has twice as much performance per watt as the outgoing Radeon HD 2900 XT, the company claims.
AMD's card is virtually equal to the Windows-only edition with 320 stream (pixel and vertex) processors, improved power use, and support for newer graphics shader effects either in DirectX 10.1 when in Windows or OpenGL 2.0 in OS X and other environments.
For connections, the new Radeon HD board is built to outpace Apple's own offerings with both dual-link DVI ports that handle 30-inch displays as well as an S-video jack for analog video from TVs. Summary: The 3870 is a little worse than the 8800 at games, but it's cheaper, better at Core Image, and supports Crossfire under Windows on the Mac Pro, where as the 8800 GT can't be in SLI mode on the Mac Pro, making the 3870 the best overall solution.
Edit: I'm pretty sure it will require Leopard simply because of how Mac OS X distributes drivers generally.

I downloaded Google Earth for mac os X 10.6.8 but it wouldn't open. Why not?

Sarfari version is 5.1.5. I got the Google Earth icon on the desktop, but wasn't sure I was installing it on the Mac Hard drive. When I see the plus sign, does and then press enter, does that install where it's supposed to on the HD?

Google Earth downloads as a dmg. Depending you your settings that dmg may be opened and mounted on your desktop. If it isn't double click the dmg to mount it. On the desktop you will see a folder named "Google Earth". Inside are two files; Google Earth Web Plug-in.plugin and Google Earth (app). Double click the plugin to install it. Drag the app to anywhere you want, for example /Applications. You can then double click the app to run it.
Note, what I just described is shown in the instructions under the files on the mounted dmg folder.

How to export contacts, calendar, notes from outlook 2013 for mac to out 2013 PC

I have been unsucessful with syncing my iPhone5 and iPad Air (both are iOS7). My MS Outllok 2013 is installed on my iMac (Maverick). My iMac is dualt booted with Windows 7 and Maverick operating systems.
I visited my local Apple store and was told that I would need to export my contacts, calendar, notes etc to a thumb drive and import to my Windows-based MS Office 2013. Well, I tried to do that but discovered when you go to export on the Mac side and option to export to .csv is not an option. The one an only option is ".olm"
How do I accomplish exporting my contacts, calendar, notes to a thumb drive and is able to import on the PC side? Not to fond of the fact that I have a brand new iMac and is unable to sync my iphone and iPad Air. This *****!!

Well, there actually is... syncing through Link to Outlook is one way.

Google Chrome for Mac and Java question

I am unable to upload pictures to costcophotocenter.com or play on-line java games using Google Chrome. OSX wants me to update java but I already have the latest update.
Those same java sites work fine using other web browsers.
Is there an known issue with Java and Google Chrome on a Mac?

Select for update timing out

when I do a simple select statement like
select * from table
I recieve all the records without a problem
when I add 'for update' like
select * from table for update
this seems to take a long time (I don't actually get a result)
Is there something I'm doing wrong or have I incorrectly set up my oracle server?

As you are saying that your normal query is running fine but if you are using query with for update of it takes more time than previous.
But it is normal behaviour of the oracle itself, when you use for update of, oracle put lock on selected row and then dont allow other users to access it unless and untill first user finish the desired task on selected row. It creates delay in response of your for update query.

Firefox 4 and 5 beta, OSX 10.6.7, 64bit, macbook pro laptop, 4 GB ram.
The stability of firefox took a nosedive just before coming out of beta. I also note that it makes my fan scream when not doing hardly anything at all.
And Firefox frequently gets into a state where a force-quit is needed to close the program.

PSE 7 for Mac

Hello,
When is PSE 7 for Mac coming out, roughly? I've heard it it usually 6 months behind the Windows version. Is this still true?
In particular, I'm waiting for the "Auto find faces for tagging" feature. Interestingly, Picasa Web Albums offers this feature too: http://picasa.google.com/features-nametags.html.

I've been looking around for a photo management solution on the Mac that basically:
- is like Photoshop Album/Photoshop Elements Windows with quick and easy drag and drop tagging and intuitive user interface
- [KEY] has tags and captions that are written to my files as IPTC or XMP metadata
- has "auto find faces for tagging" feature like Picasa Web Albums
- allows full-screen reviewing of images with quick rating/marking of "picks" in that mode
- can handle 30-60K photos either by allowing me to easy have and manage multiple catalogs
- can upload to Flickr Pro
- can batch rename files using flexible variables/tags from EXIF data (like Photo Mechanic)
- can batch export with variable sharpening (like Photo Mechanic)
I checked out Apple's iPhoto and Aperture, Photo Mechanic, iView Media Pro but none come close to offering the above feature set. Seems to me there are better photo management apps on Windows... PSE 7 and Google's Picasa.
Any suggestions? I suppose I could try using PSE 7 Windows in a Windows VMware virtual machine (or try CrossOver Mac) but then it'll be slow.
