Google Play Movies no audio on Z1 Compact with Lollipop

Since updating to Lollipop (Z1 Compact on O2 UK), audio on Google Play Movies (downloaded films to internal or SD card) is skipping / freezing every few seconds. The video then has to pause to allow the sound to catch up. This makes movies unwatchable and Google are unable to solve the issue. Can anyone from Sony help? If not, how do I go back to the older Android build?

This is not a Sony problem, but a Google problem (in my opnion).When I look at Google Play Movies in the Play Store, I see plenty of complaints of Samsung owners that have the same problem. Can no longer play Google Play Movies on tv

Prior to the 4.4.2 update to the Xperia Z tablet, I had no issues connecting and viewing Google Play Movies on my tv, using the MHL adapter. Now, it gives me an error: Premium content can't be played on this screen because it is not secure. Does anyone else have this issue?

This sounds like a change to their DRM files, this limitation is quite common with this sort of content so is unlikely to be altered back sorry.

Black bars on TV when using MHL adaptor and google play movies

I have tried the Z2 tablet using a sony MHL IM750 adapter with different TVs and monitors and it is always the same the black bars are on the screen at the side of the mirror on the TV. Using my old galaxy nexus phone with the MHL adapter I do not get this problem it fills the screen fully.
Also if I try to mirror google play movies through the tablet with the MHL adapter I get an message that it is not secure and it does not allow it to happen. Yet when I do the same through miracast with my LG TV it works! seems a little odd but something to do with HDCP I guess. If I mirror google play movies through my nexus phone on a tv it works fine.
ILooking at a past post I believe that the lack of full screen mirroring was a problem with the tablet z that got rectified by a firmware update lets hope the same happen for the tablet z2.

I used google and found something in the sony z tablet forum.
I think its a problem with the solution and you have to change mhl settings but i cant find a way to change.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.In the update to Android 4.3 it's possible to adjust the video output size for MHL. From the notification bar you can select MHL settings and then video output size. If set to 100% i have no black bars when testing here.
Looks like a general problem with tablets that have a higher solution than 1080
Should be possible to change the output format to 1080
It would be nice, if i get an answer so i can understand whats the problem and if there will be a way to fix it.

There are no HD DVD format - DVD is as standard SD-video as it's best !
To get HD - one needs to use Blu-Ray (Roxio Toast™ + BD-burner + BD-disks)
And to put even more salt in the wounds. iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 are not tools of choise
when doing DVDs. They discard every second line resulting in even less quality (50%)

Can I upload Amazon Prime and Google Play movies and TV series that I downloaded to iCloud and stream them from there later

I switched from having an android on Verizon to Sprint and selected an iPhone because of the deal they had with them. Unfortunately I get really impatient when it comes to new tech so all they had in stock were the 16gb 6's. I'm obviously used to sticking a 64gb card into my android and being on my merry way... Anyways. All of my media/entertainment purchases have been on the Google Play store or Amazon Prime. I have both apps on my iPhone & both give me the option to download. Is there any way I can download my previous purchases to my iPhone and then upload them to the iCloud? Once (if) they are in the cloud will I be able to stream them from there or is that only reserved for iTunes purchases? I do have root access to my phone if that makes a difference.

iCloud Drive isn't just for iTunes content, but apps need to be developed to use it, I doubt your Amazon and Google apps are.

Some Movie Chapters Audio Not Sync'd with Video

i have discovered that a few of my movies (transcoded via handbrake) have chapters where the audio and video are out of sync.
i've restarted appleTV and computer.. no dice.
i restored appleTV to 1.0 and the offending movie chapters played fine.
after re-upgrading appleTV to 2.2 the out of sync audio-video returned in the same chapters as before.
i'm on version iTunes 8.0.1
anyone else found this and anyone fixed the problem?

I am having the same issue but with one wrinkle. I have two apple tv's and the audio syncs fine on one but not on the other. They are both running the same version. I stream all of my movies and I use handbrake also. It happens across different versions of handbrake. One thing i notice is that on every one that is a problem the movie plays for a very short time then the movie restarts. The audio seems to be off by about the time of the restart.

Google Play email not displaying...

I have never be able to see email message from Google Play.
They all appear like (picture) with the main body blank.

I attempted that and no such luck. Even restarted phone and it still did not prompt me with the option to bill to carrier.
I've even cleared cache, cleared data, enabled/disabled the app, power cycled, took the sim card in/out, made sure wi-fi was off. spoke to verizon on the phone 3 times, including billing area who has verified all account requirements are good. i've not been able to purchase anything by bill to carrier since may 19, 2013.
i've spoke to google a few times and they insist that it's on carriers end because all the app does is that it looks to see if the carrier has my account opened to bill to carrier in the background, so that part i understand, so i'm a believe it's on verizon's end. it's getting pretty **** frustrating that after several calls and trying different things that no one can seem to get this fixed.

Will Safari on iPad play mov files?

From the forum I see iPad does not play mov format. Is this true with Safari on iPad too? Is there a plugin? Will the latest update fix this?
Only recommendations I have seen on forum is convert to MP4. Not very helpful if browsing the Internet and it is not my content.

Playing .mov video with flvPlayback

I have some .mov files I need to play with the flvPlayback component. When I had them in my actionscript it does not work. I've read allot and it says that the component will play mov video but it does not for me.
I am running CS4 with FlashPlayer 10 and AS3.
Any suggestions?

There are many different types of .mov files. I think that flvPlayback can only play .mov files that have been encoded with the H.264 codec. So if you have Quicktime open the mov file with that and check the information for what codec was used on the video stream.

I cannot find the eMac install disk, and I haven't been able to get it to start up from my 10.3 CDRm (holding down option or c), though I read something somewhere about these not being able to start up from system folders earlier than those they shipped with. I've dealt with this sort of thing several times before, and it always seemed to work to simply use target disk mode.
It definitely won't start up fromt the 10.5 DVD-R, and I'm pretty sure I tried putting the MBP into TM to use its optical drive as well, but it didn't work. But it's worth trying again, and I appreciate your input greatly.

Audio and video are not in sync when playing movies in iTunes

I have downloaded several movies from the iTunes store, and also ripped two digital copy discs into my iTunes library. When I try to play them, the audio is not in sync with the video. Very frustrating when you see the characters lips move, then about a second or two after, you hear what they were saying.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I am running most current version of iTunes, and QuickTime.

I have looked a little bit more, and it seems as though the video is lagging behind, not the other way around. Video seems choppy, but the audio is playing perfectly. Music Videos are suffering from the same problem as well. Also, when I sync to my iPod Touch 16GB, audio & video match up perfectly.
I still have no idea how to fix this. Please help.

Willy, the procdedure you describe works perfectly for AppleTV G1. In fact, I frequently play DTS music discs ripped to my iTunes library as Apple Lossless (ALAC) and synched to the ATV. What happens is that, as far as iTunes and the ATV are concerned, a conventional stereo 16/44 audio file is being played; however my reciever detects the DTS data stream, and instead of outputting static, it decodes the 5.1 channels correctly. This process parallels the way DTS discs were designed to be played back: a conventional CD player is connceted, via digital out, to a DTS-aware reciever/pre-amp and the two channels of static are recognized as 6 channels of DTS-encoded audio.
However this process will only work if the player (CD, ATV, PC, etc.) sends a "bit-perfect" 16 bit/44.1 khz data stream to the decoding device. In the case of ATV G2 and G3, as has been discussed elsewhere, the unit resmaples all audio - including 16/44 PCM (Redbook CD) - to 16/48. While this is not a big deal for conventional audio CDs, MP3s, and AAC files, it mangles the fragile DTS datastream and renders it undecodable. The resulting static that you hear is just like the static you would hear if you played a DTS CD on a non-DTS capable system.
Sadly, I'm not aware of any easy way around this. You could use a program like Foobar (and the DTS plugin) to convert your DTS CDs to 6-ch .wav or .flac file. From there you could transcode the file to AC-3 and then mux it into a video container that ATV supports. You may need add a dummy video track, for iTunes/AppleTV to be ok with the file, though I'm not sure. This may be a lot of work.
Sorry for the bad news. I wish that the iTunes/ATV ecosystem had better multi-channel audio support.

Google app can't play all the audio and video on this page, any suggestions?

New Lenovo Yoga laptop with W8.1. I have downloaded the google app, and when I search for something and the go to open a video, the flash player doesn't work and I get a message across the top of the window saying "google app can't play all the audio and video on this page"
Does anyone have a fix? i can only find a fix for google chrome, not their app.

It isn't specific to search video or anything else, you just type in the search and it finds the answers, but it isn't done via chrome. When the result includes a video or audio and I click on the link to that page, the app kicks up that the flash player needs downloading. I can't work out how to do it
