Google search, how change country?

When I type anything to search using google as search engine in my iPad it always goes to google.ca. How can I change this for google.com or any other country?

I've changed my region format as stated above, closed safari reset history and cookies even turned off iCloud sync for safari yet when I do a google search by clicking google.com it defaults to google.com.hk I'm not currently in Hong Kong but do live there, it appears in Chinese. I just can't seem to get it away from Hong Kong, I'm seriously considering buying an ipad in the US.
Is it connected to my apple account country which is obviously HK?

  • Google searching has changed

Since updated to Firefox 6 this morning, when I start to enter a search in the Google main screen (my home page), instead of staying on that page, and allowing me to choose "I'm feeling lucky", it immediately moves to a small grey version of Google search at the top of the screen. I don't like it!!! How can I get it to remain on the normal Google search screen.

I solved my own problem. At the top of the browser page on the right, next to the address bar there is a search bar and you can choose which search engine you want to use and I found mine was not set to Google so I changed it back. Now when I highlight text and right click it asks if I want to "search with Google". I guess if anyone else has this problem there is a solution.
I uploaded a screenshot of what I was trying to do..

  • Google search entries change after entry, etc.

This may be hard to explain because there are so many things that happen when using the Google search engine page.
It is a recent problem, after upgrading to the most recent version (4.0). It did not happen before the upgrade.
    Here goes:
    * For example, I entered "singer private parties Maryland" in the search box. It changed the entry to "singer prince" which I did not enter.
    * Another example: I will return to a Google search page where I previously entered some search information but now want to search for something else. I erase the previous information and then begin to enter the new information. All of a sudden part or all o f the previous information I deleted reappear along with the new information intertwined.
Or, once I enter teh new information and do a search it gives me the search results of the previous (and now unwanted) search.

    http://www.google.com/advanced_search
works for me. I suggest you try clearing your browser cache and any cookies relating to that site.

  • Smooth Scrolling has stopped in Google search but only Google search, how can I fix, thanks

There are scrolling 2 modes in Google search as far as I know one which I have always used which is smooth scrolling and the other where it jumps to the next site individually. Somehow after an update or something Google search on Firefox has stopped smooth scrolling. I also use safari and google search still smooth scrolls there.
Anyway in advanced smooth scrolling is checked.
If you are able to help please let me know.
    Thanks

  • Google Search- How to turn off search suggestions

    Hi,
Is there a way to "turn off" "search suggestions" in the search field. As I find it quite annoying when I type then move the mouse and something else gets selected other than what I typed.
    Thanks
    Safari 4.05

    Hi Bill
Easiest way to eliminate the Google "help" search prompts is to install 3rd party freeware Glims. Latest version build is available here.
Once installed you'll find Glims as a separate panel in your Safari Preferences. If it doesn't appear in the panel list, click on the right pointing arrows at the end of the Preference Panels.
Glims provides a number of very useful features for Safari. Specific to your needs, go to Glims' search suggestions sub-panel. There, you can deselect the "auto complete phrase in the search field". Additionally, Glims provides a very helpful search drop down panel for quick access to searches.
There's more to discover with Glims. Clicking on the various sub-panels will reveal other features, including specific search engine options.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Once you are signed in to any of the Google services, you can try to open google.com and on the lower left corner you would usually get the option to change the picture.

  • My page is defaulting to UK and I am in Australia. The google search in toolbar searches UK. How do I change the location in settings?

Hi how do I change my location as in Country from UK to Australia

I assume that you are referring to the '''Search Bar''', which is to the right of the Location Bar where URL's appear. You have the '''en-GB''' version of Firefox installed, which comes with the Google GB search engine. Install a Google - Australia search engine from here. <br />
    http://mycroft.mozdev.org/google-search-plugins.html
There are two listed, so make sure you install the one for '''Pages From Australia'''.

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
You can middle-click or hold down Ctrl and left-click the Home button on the Navigation toolbar to open the Home page in a new tab.
You can look at this extension to set which page to open in a new tab:

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • How Do I Change Google Search Results in Safari 3.1?

I travel a lot. Currently I'm in India. When I was using Safari 3.0, the Google Search Bar search results were always from google.com. Now that I've upgraded to 3.1, the search results are from google.co.in.
How do I get the search bar to give me .com results again?

Unless they've changed it in the past year, the auto-complete on Inquisitor was a deal-breaker. It kept on completing words that I didn't want to type.
Inquisitor has changed a lot over the past year. I used to use AcidSearch. This has it beat hands down.
Unless directed otherwise, I believe Google adapts the search function to your location based on the IP. Hence, the "Indian search".
Back to Inquisitor, one picture is worth a thousand words.
