Google search not workin in safari

i get this error from google search engine. how do i fix this error.
Google
Error
Not Found
The requested URL /search?client=safari&rls=en&q=bumber%20absorbers&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 was not found on this server.

I got the same error when using the Google search box in the top right hand corner of Safari. It started happening right after I did the Software Update for MobileMe. Is that when it first happened to you? I have not been able to fix it.

• Google searches not showing in history

This was a problem long ago that seemed to go away, but it's happening again. Not every time, but often when I perform a Google search from the URL "smart" field, that search doesn't show up in my browsing history. No idea when or why this happens.
Any ideas?

Initiate a search from "Google search", not from Safari smart search field.
Click "Settings" at the bottom right corner of the page.
Select "Search settings" from the window that pops up.
Search Settings > Google instant predictions
Select " Never show instant results".
Now Google search from smartsearch field will be shown in the history.
Keep a record of this, incase if you want to change it back.

You can't add icons to Safari on iOS devices. You can set google as your default search engine for Safari via Settings > Safari > Search Engine - the URL field acts as both URL and search on iOS 7

• Cmd+Shift+L shortcut (shortcut for google search) not working in 5.1

Cmd+Shift+L shortcut (shortcut for google search) is not working after I upgraded Safari to 5.1

Has anybody figured a way of restoring this?
Not broken here, still working fine as always. Have you tried repairing permissions or creating a new user account and seeing if the problem persists there? It's an issue with your install, as a guess. Working fine on all the Mac's around here with Safari 4.04

• How to set google search language in latest Safari

There are various posts on how to set the default Google search language for the new unified search bar within Safari. But, those did not help me at all. I'm still having french as default language for Google in Safari. I set my language to english (as wanted) under the mentioned link (http://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en) and saved those settings. I live in the german part of Switzerland (and not in France) and I connect to the internet over my nearby ISP. I even reset Safari completely but still each time I do a search in the unified search bar this google sh... shows up in french. Which I definetly do not want and speak.
Any help very much appreciated.

I finally figured it out.
I had to go to Google France (http://www.google.fr/preferences?hl=en) and set my language to English there. Hopefully I don't have to go to the Chinese page as well and set my language to English there as well. I guess I would be lost again.

• Google search not working

From about 5 days ago I noticed, that Google search (default in Safari) does not work or takes ages to display any results (up to 1 min). I tried to restart/empty cache but without any improvements.
For now I installed Glimps to be able to do any search using Yahoo. I do actually have problems to log in to Google.com as well.
Anyone experiencing similar issues?
Cheers, Mike

HI Mike,
Try maintenance..
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Safari add-ons can cause performance issues or other situations
Also, if you are running Safari in 64 bit mode, try running in 32-bit mode instead. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Quit Safari then relaunch.
And go to ~/Library>Caches>com.apple.Safari folder. Move this file to the Trash. "Cache db"
Restart your Mac.

• Previously visited sites in a Google search not highlighted on page

I'm referring to the purple highlighting of a previously visited site in a Google page. This isn't working in Safari (3.1.2) any more. It is working with Firefox for Google, and it still works with Safari in the Apple Discussions pages or Open DNS listing, but not on Google. This must be something to do with Safari and Google. I don't see anything relating to this in Google or Safari Preferences. Hope this is only a temporary problem with Safari and Google.
Any ideas? Thanks.

More information: Safari crashed once last night, and now getting a number of these messages in Console which might be related, since Safari seems to be up when they appear and Google search on this turns up some posts related to Safari behavior :

• Google Search Results keep freezing Safari in iOS 8

I have an iPad Air that is only 30% full, and a good wifi connection. Ever since is updated to ios8 and subsequent updates, my Safari browser will often (but not always) freeze after a Google search. All of the Google search result links will be unresponsive, and will not even respond after I refresh the page. It will require me to close the tab, restart Safari and repeat the Google search. It has been happening for quite awhile. I can quit out of all apps, restart my iPad, close all other tabs in Safari, and still have the problem. Unlike another poster who had the same problem, I do not have any third-party blockers on my iPad, nor have I ever had them.
This his is only one of several glitches I have experienced with iOS 8.

If you didn't do a clean install of your system, you might want to try that. Here is a troubleshooting methodology I gave for another thread ...
Follow this procedure for a Troubleshooting Methodology ... basically reset to factory default condition -BUT- be sure to do the following methodically and also to follow the part with Apple Support!
First you want to make sure you have several backups of your data and done with a couple of "different" sources. Be sure to understand what data is backed up and what is NOT on iCloud Backup and iTunes Backup. Use a variety of methods for backup ... you might check into Dropbox, in addition to your Apple options.
Then turn off your desktop anti-virus software when using iTunes for this reset to factory default. After you do that reset, then leave your iPad in its factory default state and see how it operates then. If you encounter any problems in that factory default state, then take it to Apple Support, and let them know that you have just reset it to that state with iTunes and have not put any of your data back on and it is operating in this fashion (whatever the problem is) in that pristine state. Make sure you keep that trouble ticket number, because if it has to be escalated through Apple Support, you're going to find all communications tied in with that number. If the lower level help isn't able to help you, then escalate it to a higher level to examine the problem. Keep at it with that trouble ticket number until Apple Support arrives at a solution to that problem. Be methodical and keep at it.
On the other hand, if everything is okay with the factory default condition, then restore your backup. Some people have discovered that the problem resides in the apps or something in the restored backup. If that's the case, then it's going to be trying and difficult to find out which developer's app is causing you the problem. And ... it's true ... that a developer not following Apple's instructions and guidelines for his app can CAUSE YOU TROUBLE. This kind of thing does happen from developers, especially when a new system upgrade comes out, because some developers ignore what Apple tells them about changes coming, and what they do BREAKS SOMETHING.
This is a troubleshooting methodology that you are going through. See it through to the end.

• Google Homepage not loading in Safari, other browsers

I live in the Peoria, IL area and use Comcast cable internet service. I use the following: intel iMac 10.5.7, Safari 4.0.2, and Firefox 3, Cisco Linksys wireless router. Yesterday, Google homepage stopped loading on my iMac....nothing. I tried, with negative results, loading Google on Safari, Firefox, and Opera (the latter was downloaded to test my problem). I also have an iPhone and use it on the network...google works fine on the phone.
When I directly hardwire the iMac to the router, which is (obviously) wired to the modem, google loads fast a furiously. Unplug it and go back to the wireless connection...google will not load. Other webpages load fine wirelessly. I should mention, Yahoo will load but searching yields no results (it will show a continuous loading bar). This does not seem to be a modem or router problem. I had a weak wireless signal from my neighbor and was able to load a few sites except Google.
Lycos search engine works (almost forgot that search engine existed). Haven't tried Bing (Bing is gay). This is a very annoying problem. Google is my search engine of choice...use it for almost everything. Man, any help would be appreciated. I've worked almost all day (vacation day) on this problem.

I just realized this post was placed in the Safari Windows section. My bad. Anyway, my problem apparently fixed itself. I normally leave my computer on throughout the day and night. Last night, I turned the CPU off before night night time. When I awoke this morning, I was greeted by an iMac that was functioning normally. Google search engine works. Not sure what happened, but my problem seems to be fixed (for now at least).

• Why does Google Search not work with FF14.0.1?

Locking duplicate thread.
When I use Google Search, no matter what I type in, this is all that shows up:
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/emerald_typhoon/Example1.jpg
If I use Google Images, the search results and suggestions will show up:
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/emerald_typhoon/Example2.jpg
If I click on Search along the top to go back to search after using Images, the web results will be displayed. I'm not sure what's wrong, as it only does it with Fire Fox. I've checked with other browsers, and Google still works with them. Does anyone have any idea what could be doing this?

Did you try to clear the Google cookies?
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

• Get rid of yahoo search.. return to google search NOT GOOGLE CHROME

Something happened with last mozilla update. I keep getting yahoo search in my search engine
box, and under the tools option box, there is no option to select browser access anymore.
another confusion is between the search engine used and the browser.
I want to use google search engine on mozilla, I dont want to google chrome
Also there is a flag that comes up on my windows 7 laptop when i try to change the yahoo search
box... something about content not trusted
I'm not a computer geek, all i know is after most recent windows update and mozilla update,
mozilla has gone haywire. I want the old mozilla back with a google search option on mozilla not google chrome, and NO YAHOO SEARCH WITH FLAGS ABOUT HAZARDOUS CONTENT AND SITE NOT TRUSTED
WHO IS PROGRAMMING THIS JUNK ANYHOW?????

Hello,
Sounds like a third party installation has hijacked your search bar. If you find suspicious looking extensions in your add-ons page, can you try the following steps?
# Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and choose Add-ons.
# In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
# Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
# Click the Remove button.
# Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
After Firefox restarts, install the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Search Reset Tool]. This will remove the rest of the traces of this program from your Firefox.
For further information, please read [[Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page]].
If the above doesn't work, try running some anti-malware scans:

• Google calendar not working with Safari 5.1.4

I am unable to access my calendars on the Google site, getting the message "We're sorry. Google Calendar is temporarily unavailable. Please try again in a few minutes." Calendars embedded into my website are also not viewable in Safari.
Problem seems to be limited to the desktop version of Safari, as Google calendars continue to work fine in Safari iOS 5.1 and in both Firefox and Chrome.

Go into your Applications folder, right click Safari and click "Get Info". Make sure "Run in 32-bit mode" is unchecked.

• Google map not loading in Safari

My embedded google map will not load in Safari. Will load in all other browsers just not Safari.

Google maps use embedded HTML from Google to render content served by Google.
If some of your users can't see the google map, it could be a problem connecting to the google maps site, or a browser setting that prevents google maps from displaying.
