  • Blackberry 8100 Pearl Keys/Buttons stopped working

    Hello!
I own a Blackberry 8100 (Pearl) and as you can tell by the subject, the keys stopped working!
I came home from school one day to check my phone, and find out the ONLY things that work on my phone is that the scroll ball can scroll up, down, and right.
I have taken the battery out, no good. I have taken the Media Card out, no good. I have even taken the SIM card out and this still does nothing.
I have kept my phone in very good condition, and this is the first time it has had any problem.
I'm sorry if this problem has already been brought up, but I could not find anything on it.
    Please advise!!
    Derek

    Hello MrsStewart2011,
    Welcome to the forums.
In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry® smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.
Here is how to backup your BlackBerry smartphone http://bbry.lv/oPVWXc
Once you have backed up your BlackBerry smartphone please follow the link below to complete a clean reload of the BlackBerry smartphone software.
    Link: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB03621
Once completed test it and proceed with a selective restore, here is how to restore http://bbry.lv/qgQxLo
If doing the above does not correct your issue then you will want to contact your point of sale for options.

  • Google Talk for Blackberry login failure, invalid username and password

    Hi Folks,
I have a new 8520 Curve from which I cannot seem to log into Google Talk using the gtalk for Blackberry application. I have absolutely no problems logging into the service with applications from Google such as Voice, however the Google Talk by RIM is failing.  I have tried with both my standard gmail account and my business Google Apps account with no success.
    Here is what is happening.
    Start Google Talk
    I type in my username
    I type in my password
    I select Remember Password
I select Automatically Sign me in
    I push Sign In
The Sign in Fails with "Username and Password do not Match. You Provided ([email protected])."
I really honestly know my password, and have even signed into google services from this very phone in past few minutes so something else is going on.

It is half a year later and I have EXACTLY the same problem.
Why can this app not be fixed?

  • Blackberry 8100 pearl hard boot meltdown!

I have a blackberry pearl 8100, t-mobile version.  I have unlocked it and switched to AT&T.
I did a hardboot to refresh my memory as it was taking numerous minutes to load my applications, apon re-inserting my battery I get no boot sequence.
I get a black screen and my LED indicator slowly flashes RED.  I am not around my laptop right now and have no access to my desktop manager.
Any solutions that you know of?

  • Is there a way to automatically set Google Talk to idle or offline in Bedside Mode?

On most phones, google talk (or rather, Google Hangouts usually) goes idle automatically after a certain amount of time, or at least when the phone is in some sort of "sleep" mode. I can't find out how to do this with Google Talk on BlackBerry 10. Basically, I want Google Talk to either automatically go offline or at least to automatically go idle while in Bedside Mode, or just to have a time-out when I haven't been using it for a while. Is there any setting that controls this in Google Talk, or any third-party App that adds this functionality? It's basic enough that I'd assume someone has done it.

which LiveCycle? can it be done in ver.7?
    if yes-how?

Do let me know what should I be doing for the same.
    Thanks.

    Hi soumil,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
I would suggest using the BlackBerry® Desktop Software to re-install the compatible version of Google Talk™ for BlackBerry® smartphones that was included in your BlackBerry® Device Software. This KB article provides the steps.  "How to install an application on a BlackBerry smartphone using the BlackBerry Desktop Software" http://bbry.lv/N4Pm1K

  • Blackberry 8100/8110 Red Light Flashing

It seems this is a common problem.
I loaded my Pearl 8110 or 8100 with a sh**load of music, pics & videos.
when i went to access them, play them or slideshow them, I noticed it took forever...attempting to ease the memory load on my phone, i started deleting, from the phone itself (not while connected via USB), songs, pictures, folders thereof, etc.
    then it died.
and it wouldnt re-start. pulled the battery, tried to sync it, tried to update, tried everything...the computer WONT read the phone...the update keeps getting stuck on re-initailization and when i finally cancel, it says "UNABLE TO UPDATE USING A MULTI-STAGE UPLOAD" or something like that.  it's almost as if the usb port got fried...it momentarily connects when the red light flashes on, then disconnects when the red light flashes off.
i've read thru 3-4 pages of posts on this without any hope in sight.
is it futile?  or is there something i havent tried?

    This was my post:
This website has a good solution. It seems to work for most people. My 8100 wasn't nuked, but I needed to reinstall the OS. I followed his instructions and it worked.
I don't know if we're allowed to post links on this forum, but I'll try. If it doesn't allow the link, then Google "crackberry reload operating system nuked blackberry" and it should be the first link. Just look for the crackberry site.

  • DM Removes Google Talk when adding other applications

I installed Google Talk directly to the phone via the blackberry website. The problem I have is that if I try to install another program through DM 4.7, it removes the Google Talk modules from the phone.GoogleTalk does not appear in my application list on the phone or in DM.
Anyone have any idea what is going on?
Is there a way to backup the Google Talk modules? I tried 3rd party applications backup in the device switch wizard but that only backs up every other software except Google Talk!
    My device software is 4.5.0.160
    DM v4.7
    Any help is appreciated

The problem is that it doesn't show up in the application wizard. I can't use app world either because I don't have a blackberry browsing plan, just email and instant messaging and mobile browsing through my provider (Telus).

  • Google talk on my torch 9860

    Hi,
    I am unable to connect to google talk, below message pops up while attempting to connect;
"service not enabled for this handheld."

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
To use the proprietary BB services (including Push email capability, BBM, etc.), you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), your BB-proprietary services will function (e.g., you will have Personal/Internet Email added to the email setup wizard, your BBM will function, etc).
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_do_I_need_a_Data_Plan_for%3F
With hundreds of carriers in the world, each with dozens of different data plans, it's impossible to tell you specifically what any service plan might actually provide. Only the carriers can answer that question. The best thing to do is to decide what services you desire, and then talk to your carrier about obtaining (from them) a data plan that enables what you desire.
    Good luck!

  • Calendar synch from 8100 Pearl

    Hi all,
Hope there is a real clever whizz out there who can help....?
I have read numerous threads and web advice but so far not solved this one successfully so here goes.
My personal phone is the 8100 Pearl but I have been issued with an Apple iPhone4.  Before shutting down the Sim card in the Blackberry and activating in the iPhone, my network carrier (O2 in the UK) advised that all aspects of synchronisation could be done by using my pc as a 'stepping stone'.  So far this has worked for contacts and email but not calendar.
It seems that the file format in which RIM desktop software wishes to save my calendar is not compatible with my PC operating system which is Vista (home).  My network helpdesk advised installing Outlook but the advice forums on this suggest not to when operating Vista.  And anyway, I really dont want yet another confusion to an already confusing problem,  I use Gmail for email and the default phone calendar on my Blackberry.
So the challenge is; how to get my calendar info from a Blackberry Pearl, which is no longer activated as a phone, across to an iPhone.  Grateful for any pearls of wisdom....thanks in advance.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    See this KB:
KB04312How to create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
Using that, you can export your address book to an ASCII or CSV file, both of which can be read by several different programs (e.g., Excel, Outlook, etc.) and are fully compatible with Vista and all other MS OS's...however, I've no idea what your iPhone app is requiring for import.
    Good luck!

  • What is wrong with google talk !

Google Talk takes forever for the contacts to show up. It keeps getting disconnected.
I bought a new Q10 yesterday and this is a complete disappointment. It was the first app I installed on my Q10.
I had a 9360 earlier and it used to work fine on it. But on Q10, it is a 0/10.

I think Google have dissed Google Talk (just like they did to Latitude) in favor of Hangouts. Only they forgot to offer Hangouts for BlackBerry. So much for "do no evil" company.

  • MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk

    Hello BB/RIM Loyalists! :-)
I just received a new BB Playbook for Christmas. Yay!
How do I (or is there a way) to download/install MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger or Google Talk?
All advice/help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
