Google tool bar not showing
I have downloaded and installed the Google tool bar. I have the tool bar checked but it does not show up. It appears the menu bar on top drops down to make room for the tool bar but the icons never show up. I can't figure out what is blocking it from displaying or if there is an issue with Firefox 4. Using window 7.
Thanks
Doug

The Google toolbar is not compatible with 5.0. It has been compatible with every previous version up until now. I need to know if and when it will be compatible.
I don't think anybody will tell you why. Only Google could possibly answer that.
Firefox 4 is end of life, it is not supported.
'''see''' https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/841081
for how to use the Google Toolbar with FF5 with support from neither Google nor Mozilla.
Unfortunately it has consequences of not being able to use Microsoft product email applications properly. As seen in a newsgroup without a reference a Google document. Which might explain why they are working on an Internet Explorer solution first.
Or continue reading Q841081 for alternatives, or a Google supplied
list of alternatives at the very bottom. -
Why do the Tool Bars not show when opening new window?
Here is a short jing video that clearly shows the issue
http://screencast.com/t/epteOKIyEditing a document is not supported in Adobe Reader Touch app for Windows. Although you can add annotations on the document. By editing are you referring to adding annotations?
And are you using Adobe Reader Touch app for Windows or Adobe Reader desktop application? -
I had a Google tool bar with Google Bookmarks, auto fill, spell check and several other "buttons" all are gone and information I located said that Firefox 5.0 does not support...I am not happy...I used these tool bars all the time. I want to return to Firefox 4.0
I am very unhappy...will probably return to internet explorer...I used my google tool bar all the time...it was the most used and most important part of my computer.

I can't download google tool bar on firefox
Extensions for Firefox, such as the Google Toolbar, include a list of compatible Firefox versions. Currently, the Google Toolbar only goes up to Firefox 4. However, people have tested and it actually works on Firefox 5, so there are two workarounds:
(1) Edit a file to revise the range of compatible versions
(2) Install an add-on that lets you ignore the range of compatible versions
This thread has info on both approaches: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/837142 google toolbar does not work with firefox 5.0. why not! | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help].
Any luck? -
Recently I updated my Firefox to 5.0. I did not know until after the loading that it is not compatible with Google Tool Bar. I use Google for many things. When might we expect that to be corrected, if at all?
Where did you read that Google was going to update the Google Toolbar for Firefox? <br />
http://googletoolbarhelp.blogspot.com/2011/07/update-on-google-toolbar-for-firefox.html - that is the latest information I have seen.
Plus, recent changes at Google with them renaming their '''"accounts"''' domain will break all exiting Google Toolbar programs in existence. <br />

The only thing at the top of the page is my favorites menu tool bar. I have no Google tool bar I have no address tool bar. There isn't a place to type in a web address. The only way I got here was opening Internet Explorer. No Tools or help menu. I even did a system restore to 5 days ago. Didn't help. Please help. I don't want to switch to IE.
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== I right clicked in the tool bar area and it gives me the choice of removing different tool bars or adding them. I removed one just to see which one it was. OOPS not a good idea. When I right click now the same menu doesn't come up.Hit the '''Alt''' key to show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar & Navigation bar, so so they have a check-mark.

Google tool bar won't install on Mac OS 10.4.11
Mac OS 10.4.11. Was using earlier Firefox then installed 3.6.8 and now many add-ons won't work but mostly I need Google tool bar which won't install. Also no autofill.
Jeff, there was nothing under logs/Adobe/installers. Instead, I had to scroll through "All reports" and find the log there. Under Adobe, I only found Reader updater and the CC Cleaner protocoll:
The protocoll for the installation attempt looks like this:

I can't get the google tool bar for 5.
It says Google tool bar does not work.
Taken from https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/851054#answer-216118
''Google needs to update the Google Toolbar program for Firefox 5.0.''
''The Google Toolbar 7.1.20110512W version does work pretty good in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension. But not every feature works 100%.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/''
''Google Labs has been working on a GTB 8 version, but it looks like it isn't made for Firefox - just for Internet Explorer.
http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1111588#toolbar_info
So, maybe Google isn't going to be supporting Firefox any longer. That might be a move to force Google Toolbar users over to Google Chrome, which I believe has all those features built-in.''
Check and tell if its working. -

Please fix the compatibility issue regarding google tool bar
I have now FF5 and this version is NOT compatible with Google Tool Bar. I have all of my favorites and bookmarks on that tool. I do not and will not use the bookmark feature in FF. Google is everywhere and I can access it most places and feel it is a large error on Mozilla to exclude such a widely accepted plugin.
chibangbodies, looks like you did not bother to read past first post. It is Google that needs to update their extension, always been that way.
Firefox 5.0 is pretty much both a security update in place of 4.0.2 and has some additional features fixes that would not likely have been in a point update.
The vast majority of extensions that were compatible with 4.0.1 should be compatible with 5.0 with mainly just a maxversion bump. Unless it happens to be a extension that needs additional work sue to some changes or updates.
Also when dawn.prentice@ posted this thread some 2 weeks ago the Firefox 5.0 was still in Beta testing (beta 4 of 7) as it was only just officially released June 21. -
Upgraded to v 5.0 and now my Google Tool Bar is "incompatible".
I cannot install the Google Tool Bar in Firefox v 5.0.
I have used it in all previous FF versions but now when I attempt to install I get an "incompatibility" error. Does Firefox 8 allow java and google tool bar???
'''Will fire fox 8 address the problem of enable java console for scrips and google tool bar ''' If not we wish to remain with fire fox 7
we were able to enable those extensions thank you.. [email protected]Yes, The Norton Toolbar does support Firefox 11 ([http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Firefox-11-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/679053 http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Firefox-11-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/679053]). Unfortunately, the Google Toolbar was discontinued by Google, so upon upgrading, it may or may not work. You can however read [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/google-toolbar-not-compatible-firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/google-toolbar-not-compatible-firefox], which offers several alternatives to the Google toolbar so then you don't have to continue running an insecure version of Firefox for one extension.
