Google Voice Search/Vlingo

Hello,
This app was fantastic - very easy to speak in search terms and look it up!  Worked great on the N95!
But none for the N8!!!!
Vlingo still has not N8 client.
Any voice commands apps for the N8?  Is one built in?
Help?
Thanks,
VeePee

I could not Vlingo on the Ovi store....I assume Symbian S60 3rd Edition sp1 is not the OS the N8 uses?
Vlingo said:
Vlingo is available on nearly all current generation Nokia smartphones. Specifically, devices running the Symbian operating system: S60 3rd edition, feature pack 1 or latershould be fully compatible.
To test whether or not your specific device is supported, you will need to visit the Nokia Ovi Store. You should be able to search for Vlingo within the Ovi Store application on your device, and if your device is supported, you will be able to download Vlingo directly to your phone.
If you encounter difficulties running Vlingo on your phone:
-First, make sure that you are running the latest version of Vlingo. The following article will tell you how to do this:  Click HERE
-If you are still having problems, please contact Vlingo Support with a description of your problem. Please
provide your phone model, serial number (type *06* on your phone), country, and carrier in your description.
Please note that Vlingo comes preloaded on several Nokia devices, so be sure to check the Ovi Store to see if your
device is eligible.

  • Google Voice Search app stopped working

Anyone else seeing this problem: Google Voice Search stopped working. The new Google app that allows voice recognition searches starts up then ends and sends me back to home screen. It was working fine yesterday.
    Everything else works.
Shame it was pretty nice. Guess I'll dump it and re-load it.

Has anyone else found that the microphone feature on the X1 Remote app no longer works. It says it's initializing then disappears. For more than two months it had worked fine.  No problem on this end. Maybe try deleting the app, then re-install. Good luck.

  • Replace Nuance Voice Commands with Google Voice Search

I would like to replace the Nuance Voice Commands with Google Voice Search when i press the call button on my bluetooth stereo headset.
I do not see a way to uninstall the Nuance Voice Commands...
I do not see a way to configure the phoe so that it uses Google Voice Search instead of Nuance Voice Commands...
Factory reset defaults the phone to Nuance Voice Commands...
I would like to press the call button on my stereo headset and have more voice commands than the Nuance app provides. Has anybody found a way to change this behavior without special access?
Sorry my phone is stock and no special access...

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I just tested it here and i get the same result as you but i'm swedish as well.
Not sure if this has to do with how Google Maps behaves in different countries but a Google search is made when you say a voice command that's not recognized by any of the apps you have for the watch. There's a discussion about the "Navigate to" not working here and it seems Google is looking into it.
What i've also noticed myself is that some apps actually give wrong information about which voice command you should use so sometimes you have to try another phrase than the exact one the app is telling you to use.

  • Is google voice search available for ipad?

Is google voice search available for ipad? And where can it be found? I have only located app for iPhone not iPad. Pls help

You can install the iPhone app on the iPad ... but in the App store there is an iPad version of it (actually the same version - it's a universal app that will fit fully on the iPad screen without doubling up).

  • Is there a google voice search for imac like for iphone?

is there a google voice search for imac like there is for iphone?

Yea, I think this is a difficult situation.  I am trying to really understand the advanced actions she (the person whose project I took over) created, but I cannot find the elements that are mentioned within them.  For example, one part of her advanced action is Show Text_Caption_1762, and this text caption is definitely not on the same slide.  It might not even be in the project anymore. Who knows.  But it would be nice is there was a search box, and I could type in "text_caption_1762", and it could tell me on what slide this was located, if it is still in the project somewhere.

  • Google voice search for mSpot

I know I can say listen to "artist name" and it will play everything I have of that artist. I want to know is there something I can say to play everything that is stored on the phone ( all artists and all songs )?

These are the voice commands that you can use.
Speak any of these commands to perform a Voice Action on your phone:
    send text to [contact] [message]
    listen to [artist/song/album]
    call [business]
    call [contact]
    send email to [contact] [message]
    go to [website]
    note to self [note]
    navigate to [location/business name]
    directions to [location/business name]
    map of [location]
Google Voice Search would be limited to the  artist, song,  and album options.

  • 5530 - google voice search?

The link for it is popping up on my 5530 when I'm on Google, but clicking on the link for the voice search application just takes me straight back to the normal google search page?
I've seen videos of the application working on a 5580 and so assume it should work on the 5530 as well but for the life of me I can't find anywhere on google to actually download the application. Thanks

If I use Google search on my N97 and press the green call button Voice search works !

  • Siri / google voice search toggle for bluetooth

Is there any way I can turn off the automatic bluetooth connection for siri?  I want to keep my phone connected to the bluetooth system, but I don't want siri or voice search to be treated like an incoming call..this is very annoying and doesn't work well at all on my in-car bluetooth.
Thank you in advance for any help.

  • IPad 2 wont speak Google Voice Searches

    Hi all,
A couple of days back google released a new Google Search app for iOS, wherein we can get voice feedback on questions like "what is the weather like ?? "
I have a iPad 2 (Wifi+3G, iOS 6.0.1) I tried using the voice function of the app but I am not getting Voice feedback, the search shows on the screen but like the advertisement the iPad does not speak.
Is this voice feedback function supported by iPad 2 or do I have to enable any settings for it.
    Thanks

    Hi I live in INDIA.
and as you mentioned, i have modified the default language from the app - settings to English US.
still it does not speak back.
Any special command we must give?

  • Why is Google voice search working so poorly?

Just in the past few days, when I ask Google (Google app) for a search, my spoken words appear correctly on the screen, but the screen freezes there and I get no search results. I've not had this problem previously. My wifi connections, etc. are working fine. Since this is a very recent occurrence, I am wondering if others are having the same problem on their iPhones.

As the Google Search app is Google app, not an Apple product, you'd probably be better off asking for help over in the Google forums.
    Best of luck.

  • Google Voice Won't Work With Bluetooth Headset After Jelly Bean

I am SO frustrated. I had no idea I was installing the Jelly Bean update when I updated the software on my phone. Note to Verizon Communications team: PLEASE do a better job of communicating significant software updates. I would not have installed Jelly Bean. I learned long ago to stick with factory OS on my phones.
Since the update, I noticed that I could no longer dictate texts and emails. Also, my call recording app no longer worked. I switched to Swype and it would work for a few minutes and then stop.  I could still use my bluetooth headset to make calls and S voice worked (although, like others here, I noticed that it's now worse--it doesn't recognize any contact names I request anymore). After trolling Android forums I found that the problem is with the bluetooth headset. You can still dictate when the phone's bluetooth is on, but when a device is connected, all bets are off.
I almost did a factory reset, but then I read that a hard reset will not restore ICS, nor did it resolve this bluetooth Google Voice issue for the few people who tried it already. In fact, resetting caused more problems (eg., more battery drain and removal of Adobe Flash, etc.).
Does anyone know how I can go back to ICS? Bluetooth and Google Voice are the two features I value most in my phones. This is a NIGHTMARE.

    rcschnoor -
The Bluetooth/Voice Search/Dictation issue is a valid issue for the OP, a valid issue for me and oh yeah, the hundreds of other people affected by the, "Google Voice Search stuck on "Initializing" bug filed here on the Google Android Project page.  Here is yet another reference to the same issue from Android Central.
The "Google Music freezing after Jelly Bean Update on Galaxy S3" is also a valid and documented bug located here also on the Google Android Project page.
So I ask, how does sharing with these people that do have these issues, and are affected by them, that you are not experiencing these issues help in any way?  Isn't that the whole purpose of a community forum to help others?

  • Voice search history

How do I clear my "Google Voice Search" history ?

Thanks, Ray, but that only gets me partial info.  I want to be able to look at a summary of all calls I made in a billing cycle for total time I used the landline.  I am trying to see if a cell phone plan would work for the amount of time I use.  So far, all I can find is a summary for this billing cycle.  I have pdf records of all Comcast bills for the last couple of years, but they do not have this data in them.okay, you want "everything" then....   online only offers a 90 day window I believe, so you are looking for ALL of your call records for placed calls....   I don't know if a CSR on the phone would undertstand that or even know where to point you, but you can try sending an email from my macro below: Send an email to:

  • New voice search starts Google voice dialer instead of voice search app (fw 5.0.0.66)

Hello. I use Nexus 4 with Lollipop 5.1After upgrade I found that Sony released a new cool feature "Voice search" which should "forward search commands to phone's defaults voice search app".in facts when I hoold 2 sec on Volume Up button I see native ugly "Google voice dialer" instead of "Google voice commands".Is it behaviour by default? How can I use Google voice commands (aka Google Now) instead of voice dialer? Thanks.

Hi! You can actually use a free APP name " BT GNow". Set it as default APP as the Samrtband talk search function. Then you can use Google Now. Millet
