Google, YouTube won't load in all browsers.

On all accounts setup on both my computers at home, Google and Youtube struggle to even open in all my browsers (Safari 4.0.4, Firefox 3.0.15, and Chrome 5.0.307.7), while the rest of the internet loads fine (including for example, Gmail and Hulu).
I did install some security updates recently, and the issues I am experiencing did start occurring around the same timeframe. I've reset Safari, emptied the cache, deleted cookies and restarted my machines without seeing any improvements. After restarting my router, I can access Google.com more successfully, but still have problems with YouTube.
I did read on the following thread about someone having similar issues that ended up being related to a bad DNS address, but I am curious if anyone has experienced anything similar to what I am describing because of another issue.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11064680
Any suggestions out there to help me troubleshoot?

I had the same trouble as you and it started shortly after I ran the weekly software updates. I run the same browser versions as you also, and ran thru the exact same procedures (resetting safari, re-installed browsers, etc). I checked my DNS details, rebooted router/modem & even updated its firmware - nothing!
Breakthru: I uninstalled Flash Player on my machine. Some websites (or certain modules within sites) don't load properly, but I manage to contain crashing across all 3 browsers.
With regards to that discussion you posted - I couldn't find PeerGuardian on my iMac, so unsure what that is all about.
I do need to upgrade to Leopard Snow (wondering if that would eliminate the problem), however, running stable for the past 6 hours.
Good luck!

    Specs:
    iMac 10.8.5
    3,4 GHz Intel Core i7
    32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Can't read or write some files, internet is failing, youtube won't load, security software I tried to install was in Slovenian, not dutch or english like in my systempreferences settings, pictures and files won't preview with spacebar and are randomly corrupted, when I entered something in the Youtube searchbar (when it was still working) it send me to a site with sexadds.
I tried restart my iMac and when I was logged back in, my dock preferences were reset.
Also tried to download some security software to check my Mac for malware, but when I did, I tried several, I got a notification that said something like 'dumpfiles (don't know if this is the right translation...) damaged'.
I'm taking screenshots from all the weird notifications I get and even three quarters off the screenshots I took in the last three hours are already unreadable.
It started this morning when I tried opening a Premiere Pro file on which I worked the night before.
When I tried opening it, it said the file was damaged and could not be openend.
I tried opening it with AE or importing the file in a new project but nothing helped.
When I tried looking for autosaves, this is the really weird part, there were none.
Even though there are autosaves from my other projects, this one was completely gone.
It looked like the day before never happened on my computer.
Also when I openend Premiere all the recent projects had been wiped.
So at first I thought it was a Premiere Pro failure.
But than, later on the day, I tried loading some RAW files from my compact flash card.
This is where I would get an error (error -36) which said some data cannot be read or written.
I tried importing the files with a view different technics, from dragging to importing via Lightroom and I succeeded with Image Browser.
But when I tried moving the files to an other folder the same error occurred.
While dealing with this issue I wanted to put on some soothing music on youtube.
This is when the next weird thing occurred: youtube wasn't completely loading in Chrome. I refreshed a view times, checked the internet connection and still no difference.
When I tried in Safari it did work but when I clicked enter on the searchbar in Youtube, a page with sexadds appeared (I didn't install AdBlock in Safari...).
I read about this 'phishing' where you are redirected to a site were a possible malware installment can take place...
I don't know if it's connected to any of the problems I've been having but I just never experienced this on a mac, I have been a Mac user for 10 years now.
On top of it all, internet started working worse and worse and now it's not even working at all. I had to fill in the password over and over, normally it remembers.
Just like my system preferences, all the preferences I had with Chrome where also reset.
Also somewhere in between I got this notification: Mac OS X must restore library to run programs. Type your password to allow.
To me this is all very weird and suspicious. I have clearly no idea what's going on. Could this be another sort of trojan horse or malware?
Some background info which could be helpful for solving this mystery:
two months ago the one year old Fusion Drive in my iMac just broke out of nowhere.
I got it replaced by a qualified apple repair store.
When I got my computer back, all the files where gone.
I got on the internet without AdBlock installed yet.
A game or whatever it was, can't clearly remember, got installed by accident.
    I deleted it immediately.
Only two weeks later, I couldn't log in to my account. It didn't recognize my password and username.
So I brought my mac back to the store.
Here the repair guy said it was a minor thing and he just needed to reconnect my account. He also mentioned he found a downloaded game name Sparta and it probably had something to do with the error.
I asked him; could it be a virus? He replied no way.
I don't know why I couldn't be a virus, just because it's a mac doesn't mean it cannot be done.
So today I tried installing anti virus software (such as avast- was in a weird language looked like slovenian, clamxav - was in slovenian) but I couldn't install them.
PLEASE help me! I don't know what to do anymore, I work fulltime and I need my computer, I have no time to bring it in for repair, are there other perhaps easier ways?
Could this be the work of a virus or a malware? Or is it a disk permissions issue?

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/baddns.php
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/hackedrouter.php
If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

  • Youtube won't load on macbook

I have a MacBook, Mac OS X 10.5.2, and youtube won't load on my computer. I never used to have this problem but in the last two weeks or so it just stopped loading. In other words, the pictures don't show up on the webpage. The videos themselves work but I can't view the pictures that are next to the title of the video.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

    Hi
I'm only guessing but here are a few suggestions that might help:
    1) Empty the Safari Cache. Safari menu > Empty Cache
    2) Clear out any YouTube cookies. Safari > Preferences > Security > Show Cookies.....
    3) In YouTube, ctrl-click on a running movie, choose Settings.. and increase the amount of local storage used.
    4) Use a tool like Onyx or Leopard Cache Cleaner to clear out ALL system and user cache files.
    Good luck

  • My e-mail won't load at all

All of a sudden, my e-mail won't load at all.  It spins and spins and then I get a page saying this webpage is not available.  What on earth is wrong?

Which browser are you using and which Operating System?

  • Muse-built site on business catalyst isn't loading on all browsers and devices

My muse-built site on business catalyst isn't loading on all browsers and devices e.g. the full-screen video widget doesn't load or play, the scrolling doesn't work. Any advice? The site is gulch.businesscatalyst.com

Once you add the domain to Business Catalyst and finish all the DNS delegation steps listed in the article for launching a site on BC, your old site will no longer load and users will go to the new BC site.  Your old hosting then could be discontinued with whichever vender you used. Be aware that DNS can sometimes take 24 hours to fully propogate so you should wait to make sure that things are all loading properly.  -j

macbook takes forever to load websites and often they won't load at all - yet my pc flies along
I downloaded the Open DNS thing and I havne't got a masters degree in computers - so i haven't a clue what it does or what its supposed to do.
Overall i'm really really sorry i bought an apple and i won't be doing it again - i just need it to access the web properly!

When i click to 'go to video' a page opens onto eurosport but the video won't appear - there's just a blank spot on the page where it should be.
i get some of the pictures on the page but lots of black squares where other pictures should be.
Make sure you have the following installed:
    Flip4Mac
    VLC Media Player
    Perian
    Adobe Flash Player Software
After the installations, repair permissions and restart your computer.

Uninstall it asap.  In order to avoid damaging your system/directory which can result in costly repairs, never install software if you do not know what it does and/or you have no clue on how to use it.  If the software comes w/instructions (Read Me file), read it prior to installation.

  • Firefox updated yesterday and now it won't load any webpages. Have reviewed articles on this problem and checked everything. Still won't load. All other browsers work fine.

Have checked firewall and network settings and compared to other computers running firefox. All is ok, but firefox won't load any webpages. This started immediately after it updated yesterday. No error messages.
Have been having problems with updates on serveral of our computers for a month or so. Previous problems have always been that firefox renames a file it needs by adding moz.backup to the file name and I have to search for the file and remove it. This time I'm getting no error messages.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Slow webpage loading on all browsers

    Hi,
I have the problem that webpages tend to load extremely slow on all browsers under the latest Mountain Lion on a Macbook Pro Retina Mid 2012. I say tend, because sometimes pages load instantly, but very often it takes minutes to open or a page loads only partially. So there is some random element of surprise mixed in. The problem exists on all browsers I have on my system. It does not on my Windows laptop. I have tried anything I could find on the web that is even remotely related to this issue. I will just list, what I have tried so far:
    1) I have deleted my wireless connection under network preferences and setup a new one.
    2) I have tested other DNS servers, Google's amongst then (8.8.8.8).
    3) I have deactivated DNS prefetching on Safari.
    4) I have tested Chrome and Internet Explorer (via VMware Fusion).
    5) I have done several speed tests with two ISPs.
    6) I have tested the disk permission verification and repair tip.
    7) I have tested a different wireless router as well as different wireless standards (g vs n).
    8) I ran a traceroute which turned out fine.
    9) I have tested several FTP severs. The problem seems to be isolated to HTTP browsing.
Can't think of anything else I have tested, but that should cover most of it. I do not want to setup a new system and postpone the issue. I want to find the cause of this.
Maybe anyone can help we resolve this issue.
    Loehnsberg

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click  Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Firefox is having problems with certain web sites

    ==
When browsing college humor and Gawker network sites, and also occasionally google and forbidden planet, images don't load correctly. This happens across all browsers but I feel firefox may be the root of the problem. This happens on both computers which share my firefox profile, and doesn't affect others in my house such as my iPod Touch.
Any ideas? I really want to sort this out.

    Cambrey,
that HTML content shows that there’s no content at that Web site — it will only show the heading “301 Moved Permanently” and the single line “nginx/1.2.6”. I suspect that they might have wanted to include a redirection directive in that document, but for some reason, they didn’t. Your browsers are behaving as they ought to do with this Web site.
Have you considered trying www.sundancechannel.fr in your browsers instead of sundancechannel.fr?

  • .dmg and. zip webpages will not load through all browsers so I cannot download from sites

    hi all,
i have had this problem since i bought my Mac Book. When trying to load a .zip or a .dmg webpage, it will start loading the page and than stop. Without dispaying nothing only a white page. I wont show me any errors or nothing, just stop loading,
I have upgraded to snow leopard maybe it will stop doing this but useless. I tried using Safari, Google Chrome and Mozilla and still the same.
    Please help
    Thanks folks

    thanks for the quick reply
i tried everything you told me but its still not working. When i try and download its redirecting me as every download page should do, so that ok. But when the .dmg and .zip page will start loading it will stay blank and stop loading on.
I checked the download folder and even the preferences and nothing is showing up. I think its more of a permission problem than from the browser since all browsers are doing this.
I had Norton 2010 installed and was removed maybe it was the source of the problem but still.
    More help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Teo

  • Youtube won't load on safari

Youtube video won't load lately on Safari.... the time of the video is 00:00 all the time and sometimes when I refresh it like 5 times it will load eventually.

One of the following steps should help.
    1. Install Adobe Flash Player.
        http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
        Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
    2.  Enable Plug-ins
        Safari > Preferences > Security
        Web Content:
Click in the box for "Enable Plug-ins".
    3. Check  whether you are currently  in  YouTube HTML 5 trial.
         http://www.youtube.com/html5
At the bottom  left of the page  uncheck the box for
"You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
    4. Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the boxes next to all items.
Check the box next to "Remove all website data".
        Click "Reset".
    5. Turn off Extensions/Plug-ins if any that may interfere with Flash working properly.
        Safari > Preferences > Extensions
    Best.

  • Multiple apps won't load at all

Hello all. I'm not that mac-literate so please forgive me if this question may seem redundant or just stupid.. but I'm having problems with my mac.
Several apps just ceased to load; the main ones being Safari, Mail, Yahoo messenger, Adium, iTunes, iDvd.. just to name the ones I actually tried opening.
I am currently on a PC right now, so there is no way for me to load the crash reports or whatever they're called, however this is pretty much the gist of it all:
    Link (dyld) error:
    Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaScriptCore
    Referenced from; /System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/Versions/A/WebKit
Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaScriptCore.framework/Versions/A/JavaScriptCore: unknown file
    type, first eight bytes: 0x38 0xC0 0x00 0x00 0x81 0x83 0x00 0x00
    /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaScriptCore.framework/Versions/A/JavaScriptCore: unknown file
    type, first eight bytes: 0x38 0xC0 0x00 0x00 0x81 0x83 0x00 0x00
That is pretty much what it said for every single crash logs of the stated apps that won't load.
I'm not sure what exactly preceded this, but the first time I noticed this was when I went to the mall and picked up a signal (airport) and it prompted me if I wanted to get on it and I clicked yes.. and when I tried to load Safari it wouldn't open.
Could anyone please give me some insight? Or am I not making sense and better off going to CompUSA to get it checked out??
Oh and might I add that when I try to open "HELP", it won't open, neither would "Software Update"

    {quote:title=flippizzle wrote:}
I created a new account and tried opening Safari and iTunes, but still to no avail.
    What exactly does this indiciate?? Ahh I am so confused =({quote}
    Something doesn't compute maybe?
I think at this point you should make sure your data is backed up and do an Archive and Install of Mac OS X. You'll need to get out your Install Disc 1 again and hold
down the 'C' key at boot up. Make sure to select preserve user settings and network
settings... You'll need to run software updates and probably re-install some applications after an Archive and install.
    Cheers,:)

  • YouTube won't load on Safari, Firefox or Chrome (on MBP)

Just in the last couple of days, my MBP stopped loading YouTube. It doesn't matter which browser I use, it won't load. Ironically, it WILL load on my husband's iMac. It's just started the last couple of days.  We're on the same network. I've emptied the cache, deleted history, ran a disk utility, rebooted the Airport and the Modem, still nothing seems to help.  Not sure what sort of settings to check for. I tried updating flash, but still nothing.

Have you reinstalling Flash? Download and install from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ . Perhaps your Flash has become corrupted.
Have you tried using the Chrome browser, which has Flash built into it, versus relying on the separate Flash module (assuming that Flash is the common component causing the issue)?

  • My ipod touch ( Gen 4 ) goes to home screen when loading a app, and sometimes in the middle of the app. Any ideas how to fix this? One game won't load at all now. Thanks in advance for the help..

I have had this touch for almost a year. It suddenly starts going to home screen in middle of app, or when loading the app. Contract Killers has worked fine since I dowloaded it, but is not loading at all now. If I restore, will I be able to get my progress back from the backup?

Reset did not work. Just completed the restore, seems to have fixed the other apps from going back to the home page, but not Contract Killer.. I assume it is now a error on Glu's part. Hopefully they will resolve the issue. Thank you so much for your response.

  • Google, Yahoo, and Youtube won't load... all other sites do!

I have searched for hours to the solution but I haven't been able to find one! I don't know what else I can tell you besides that I have disabled (and then trashed) peerguardian, have tried disabling the mac firewall and Glimmer Blocker (adblocker), and even tried resetting my router.
What is weird that my ipod touch is able to access all these sites but Safari and Firefox can't. All of this just happened today.
    T.H.A.N.K. Y.O.U to everyone!

    got it on my configuration...
Issue identified: recent modifications to either how Google, Yahoo or YouTube DNS or Port are set-up or concurrently updated in the "Webspider and Bots" list from bluetack used in softwares such as Peerguardian, Safepeer or the like, resulted in the Mac not being able to recognize the server.
Solution: I've modified the filter so that it allows "standard port", and the problem has been resolved.
Note that I had a similar problem with a more obscure website, and the same solution applied though on a different IP list.
Note to Snow600: you need to "Disable filters" in Peerguardian first, and then you can quit, then uninstall it. This was the test I made to identify my issue. Just quitting and trashing Peerguardian didn't solve the issue at first, so I reinstalled, disabled filters, and it worked...
