Got 5S and tried to load old info on phone and messed up

I just got a new iPhone. I went to download my music, etc from old phone and hit restore old phone to new phone. Seems I lost all my new pictures and info as a result. Can I get them back? new phone is 5s. old was 4s. I don't want old software. help! I upgraded to the new phone because I had issues with old phone. Don't like the way the photos are, etc. Can I just delete all this and restore again?

If you do not like what you had previously, then restore your new iPhone to its original settings. Import the information to your computer and then sync that data to your new iPhone. Check out the articles below on importing your photos and syncing your data back over. Alternatively you can back up using iCloud and can restore that information that was as well.

Is your iPhone not showing up in iTunes sidebar, or is iTunes not just launching automatically?
The things that you can check are:
1) Launch iTunes manually
2) Restart or reset your iPhone (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281)
3) Check your cable including disconnecting and reconnecting it on bot the phone end and the computer USB end.
4) Reboot your computer
5) As a last resort, take it to the Apple Store so they can check the hardware

My phone keeps trying to load 2000 old emails (that have been deleted from my computer). How do I get it to stop?

Your profile says you have a PC so you may have to search the web to find out how to delete emails from the server using whatever email client you have (Outlook perhaps) and how to set it so that when you "delete" mail on your computer it deletes it from the server too. You may have to log into your email via your email provider's webmail system to delete these old messages from the server. Hard to say for sure.

[SOLVED] Trying to load old kernel after upgrade

Hi, apologies in advance for asking this if it's a repeating situation but I searched and read for the better part of the day with no avail.
I updated to kernel 3.1.9 today and everything compiles fine, with no errors. After reboot is when it fails to load user specific modules, which I think I narrowed down to /lib/modules/3.1.8. That would make sense because with uname -r it is still showing 3.1.8 after -Syu and reboot but everything else is configured for 3.1.9. I checked the menu.lst and it is pointed to initramfs and the build of that was reported successful. I don't have any kernel .deps from AUR and I was updating with packer anyways. There is one error being reported in xorg.conf that Nvidia driver fails to load and no driver available even though it compiled without issue. Anyways I'm not sure what info to post for you to help me out, but I'll be glad to if you let me know.

Oh and for the meantime I just downgraded the kernel and everything works fine. I know I could just stay on this setup and be good but I installed Arch specifically to challenge myself and learn.

Hi thanks for your response. I made sure to have /boot mounted during the upgrade but it did not alter the outcome.
It is in fact failing to load ACPI modules after the update. If that might be of some assistance.
I'm still reading as much as I can find, maybe you can point me in the direction of a thread that could help?

Lost serial# trying to load old library

I suffered the horrible loss of both my computers to theft a couple weeks ago, and the scum took a back up drive, too. Over 15K images lost : ( They did leave an old external HD, with my old Aperture 1.5 library on it. However, I no longer have the box or serial number for it, but I do have the install CD. I have Aperture 2.1 in a box with serial number, and have not installed it, yet. I don't know if it would work if I did install it, then tried to run that old library. I'm afraid of losing what photos I have left.
I called Apple, and they can't help. I don't have original receipt or don't even remember where I purchased it originally. These are the only photos I have left. I lost thousands of my beloved Assistance dog, and namesake of my photography biz. Heartbreaking. I wish I had stored online now.
Is there any way at all to retrieve the images out of that library on the old external HD?? I can't believe they wouldn't give me another serial number, with the fact I have a new version of Aperture I bought separately, and have that number. Help!

Are you no longer using Aperture? Because the simplest solution would be to buy Aperture 2, and then upgrade the 1.5 library and you're good to go.
If you're not, and you no longer wish to use Aperture, you can still get all the images out of the library. The easiest way would be to use Spotlight to get them.
To do this, go to the 1.5 Aperture library and right click (or control-click) on it, and select "show package contents." In the finder window that appears, type "kind:image" in the search box (no quotes). Then, in the search box that appears below, click the name of your Aperture library (it will appear to the right of the "This Mac" option. Sit back and you should see every image in the Aperture library appear. You can select them all and drag them wherever you want.
Sorry for the loss of your images. Backups are a good idea, because sooner or later you'll need them. Whether it's from accidental deletion, a crashed hard drive, or theft, it will happen

[SOLVED] ffmpeg trying to load old libgnutls

So for some reason I can't use FFMpeg from the command line. Any attempt to do so results in the following:
ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libgnutls.so.28: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Some additional information that might be useful:
$ pacman -Qi gnutls
Name : gnutls
Version : 3.4.1-1
Description : A library which provides a secure layer over a reliable transport layer
etc.
$ ls /usr/lib | grep gnutls

I haven't updated anything related to ffmpeg, gnutls, or nettle (which caused issues before) recently, so I don't think that's the issue. Any ideas?

Is your entire system up to date? If so, what is the output of `pacman -Q ffmpeg` and `which ffmpeg`?
Most likely problem is either a partial update or an AUR package that needs rebuilt.

Restoring Ipad for sale, loading old info to new Ipad2

Im planning to buy the new Ipad 2 when it comes out...I need to know how to restore the ipad I have now, so I can give away or sell. Also after I save all infor from old Ipad, will that information sync to the ipad 2?

Tip: You can do a manual backup at anytime (without syncing) by Control-clicking on your iPad's icon in the left frame of iTunes and select "Back Up."

How to load old voice memos to new iphone 4s

hello,
i'm trying to load old voice memos from 3gs to new 4s.
when i plug in the new 4s i have a playlist called voice memos and it appears to be on the 4s phone but i can't find it on the phone when doing a search for the name and or looking in the voicememo app or music playlist.

wow thats a hard one. Not that many people have that phone. I would probably say go to store and let them try it on the machine. Since its such an old phone its going to be hard. If you synk with outlook tho I am sure you can do it.

I am trying to load an old windows program in wine and I think that mozilla is marking the program as dangerous and I would like to unblock the install cd.

I have a program, astrodatabank, that I have been using since 2005 or so. The program ran well on Windows XP and Vista operating systems. I tried to load it into my desktop, which runs on the latest verison of Ubuntu. If I try to install from the disk, some of the exe files are not available. If I try to copy the files from the disk to a documents folder, the computer loads everything, except two .exe files. Last night, I got on an XP computer and was able to copy one of the files to a flash drive and copied that file to this computer, but AVAST on that computer decided the files were dangerous. I think I used to have the program installed on that XP computer. Is there a way I can get Ubuntu to let me load the last file and run the install program?

You do not register the phone with the laptop. If you are using the same Apple ID on the new phone as the old, you will have no trouble. Connect the phone and you can restore from a backup of the old phone, or just sync your new phone if it is already set up, with the laptop, managing your content in iTunes.

when i publish my site and vew it the page on the web it just comes up with the file name w/ the ,swf and the "mising plug-in" message below. if i click on the file name it displays the flash file but gigantic (the entire height of the page).totally perplexed!
