Got a contacts removing virus... pls help
how do i remove a virus that makes my contacts just not there... when i go to my contacts, they arre all gone, but when i receive a call, it shows who`s calling?!! how can i get my contact outta my phone. anyone ps help me

Need help urgently, I upgraded my iPhone 4 with new OS 5, but at the last restore failed. Apple Customer Care helped me to resynch my phone with all that available in Library. 1. Ethernet .. are you using ethernet?
2. Change the name of the TC to short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
3. In the file sharing page change the workgroup to WORKGROUP.
4. In the same area, change the guest access to on read and write.
5. If you setup homegroup on the PC get rid of it.. TC is not compatible with homegroup.
6. Turn off ipv6 in the network settings for ethernet. (since you are going to be using ethernet).
From Mac version utility it looks like this.
Go to the admin tools and ensure that bonjour for windows is on.
Manually type the IP directly into windows explorer.. do not open via MyComputer.

so i have this ipad but i gave it to my mom and i deleted my email accounts and everything. i added her account but when she tries to write or send a message to some1 all my email contacts are there even after i deleted my account any help? thanks
Apps can be re-installed - and if you no longer have them on your computer then you can re-download them for free as long as they are still available in the store and you use the same iTunes account to re-download them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
I've seen other people post about wanting to remove incorrect email addresses from Mail and the only suggestion I've seen given is to reset back to factory defaults, and I havn't found any way to remove old or invalid entries either. Nokia 3300 showing "contact service".. pls help
I was at a basketball court and left my phone while it was raining, it seemed fine even couple of minutes after cos i still made a call from it but about half an hour later it showed on the screen "contact service", i tried shutting off and restarting but to no avail

Please helpThe water has damaged your phone most likely beyond repair. Sometimes a phone will work for a short while after it's been exposed.
All you can do is take it to a nokia care point for inspection. If it is water damaged then they will not be able to repair it.

I got a big mistake when i installed PIM upgrade for my tungsten E2 while it only support for tungsten E.
after installing the PIM update. It's required restart. I restarted and it didn't start up. It displayed the palm logo after 5 seconds and turned off and on and off...
I confused. My contacts still in there. How can I recove my contacts or it will go.
Pls help me. Thanks a lot!

View Solution.At this point it looks like your device is in a looping reset because of the incompatible app.
Try the system/warm reset in the following link to see if you can stop the looping.

If you can get the device to stop looping, try a hotsync and see if you can get your data backed up.
After the sync, you will need to do the following in order to remove the incompatible app. from the sync'ing process.
Hard reset your device and rename your backup folder. Go to http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887 and follow the directions to do a hard reset. Next before you hotsync your data back over you will need to rename your backup folder, to do that go here;
XP
C:\program files\palm or palm one\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
folder to backup.old
Vista
Start-->documents\Palm OS Desktop\[hotsync username]\ and rename your backup
folder to backup.old
Then hotsync to your current hotsync name and all your contacts, calendar,
tasks, and memos will come back over.

If you can not view file extensions on your PC I would like you to open a
folder go to Tools-->Folder Options--> View (tab) and under show hidden
files and folders uncheck hide file extensions for known file types.

If the above steps don't resolve your issue, you will need to hard reset.

i factory unlock my iphone 3gs and was on ios 6.1.2 and updatednit to 6.1.3 with itunes and the phone got lock again at activation screen. i try downgrading to 4.1 with baseband 5.13.04 and want to upgrade back to 6.1.2. pls help me
Sorry, downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple, thus there is no official way to do so. Your phone was re-locked to the carrier it was originally locked to because you hacked it to unlock it. Apple's servers detected such & re-locked your phone. You need to contact the carrier your phone is locked to if you want to get it officially unlocked.

If the backup you're trying to restore from is encrypted, you will not be able to use that backup if you can't remember the encrypted backup passcode.
If on a Mac, & you elected to save the passcode to your Keychain, you can recover the passcode from your Keychain. Otherwise, your backup data is unrecoverable.
While you can continue to sync/backup, if you can't remember it & want to remove it, you'll have to delete your existing backups, & restore your phone as a new device.
You delete your existing backups here: iTunes>Preferences>Devices. -

My mother's computer was infected with the new "Win 7 Total Security" virus (apparently a fake antivirus program) - corrupted real av. To remove, we followed online advice to delete everything in AppData, for all programs, plus some other stuff. We moved it all to a flashdrive for safety, but after successfully removing virus, likewise cleaned & reformatted flashdrive. This apparently deleted Firefox profile(s), and after uninstalling & reinstalling, Firefox still won't open - I can't create a new profile. With v 4.0, I get an error message about not being able to find the profile. Found advice on how to open profile manager, but it won't open. Found reference to version 4 dispensing with profile manager, so tried installing version 3.6 again; still won't open, still can't open profile manager, but now no error message at all.
THANX for the reply cor-el. I've never had a problem using just "firefox -p", but i did use the full path like you advised after i read the profile manager article here before i posted my question. Unfortunately it didn't work. I've backed up all 3 profiles from the "%appdata% profile" file, and also from my remaining main profile that i'm on right now. I decided i'm going to uninstall ff3.6.28 & upgrade to "firefox 11" this weekend and hopefully create the other 2 profiles along with my main one. I do like in the newer versions of FF the tabs on top like googles chrome because it gives you more room on the page. I also like some other features too, but the main reason i kept my old version both times is because the newer versions didn't seem to load pages any faster than version 3.6.28. I'm not going to worry about some themes/personas not being compatible with ff11. I'll find some new ones. I think when i tried "ff9" awhile back along with my current version, i just deleted the shortcut that the article said to create on the desktop and still had all 3 profiles & no problems like i have now. In case your curious, the article on how to create more than one version of firefox at the same time was on the site "Dottech.org>[How To] Tip: Install multiple versions of Firefox to test before upgrading to latest release". It works but i obviously did something different this time that caused this problem. THANX again for your time/help, i do appreciate it.

Is it not charging at all? Did you try to reset? If YES to both, request for a replacement of the ipod. Battery or the unit itself is defective. Cheers!

I tried uninstalling my itunes thinking it was perhaps a conflict with the previous version, now I don't have itunes on my pc at all!!
Reading a previous post for this problem, I attempted to uninstall the 6 individual programs from within control panel. Everything uninstalled fine except for the Apple Software Updater which failed to uninstall and gave me the same error message.
I only encountered this when trying to update to the current version of itunes64setup. When using itunes ver 9 on Windows 7, everything was still fine.
Pls help, any assistance would be appreciated.I have also tried extracting the individual components to the temp file and attempting to install them individually despite being unable to remove the previous install of Apple Software Updater. The outcome, both Apple Software Updater and itunes encountered the same error message during the install process.

please help...we updated ipod2 4.1 to IOS 5.1 at itunes...after it was finished only the contacts were restored...not the music & videos...iwe found the backed up data in the pc(windows 7)after entering %appdata%..pls help on how to restore...we will appreciate it very much....thanks! God bless!
The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like app, music and videos. Thus, you wll have to resync those back to your iPod.
If necessary you can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
