Got a used iphone4 need to erase old data put mine in

I bought a iPhone 4 from a friend and need to erase all his info and sync mine

Force the phone into recovery mode and restore it as a new device:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. In your case, select "new".

Hi, no eMacs had G3s, only G4s. Is it maybe an iMac G3?

  • Will using the Recover HD Erase my data

I am using OSX Mavericks 10.9.2 and after my computer crashed, undertook a Vertify Disk to see if there were any issues. I received a message on Verify Disk telling me "incorrect number of extended attributes" and "Error: this disk needs to be repaired..."
I then received a message telling me to repair the Recovery HD by restarting the computer holding down the Command and R Key.
Being a very basic user, this freaked me out - will this format my disk and erase my data?
I already have a support call to Apple given that my thunderbolt ports (and hence thunderbolt backup device) aren't working and I only have a non-bootable time machine backup on a time capsule.

Follow the instructions. When the recovery HD is up, you will have an option to use disk utility. Run repair disk from there.

  • My iPhone mobile set got damaged. Got a replacement. Need to recover my data from the last iPhone mobile device. How to do the needful?

    iPhone got damaged
got a new set as replacement
    all data is lost
    how to recover the data?

When setting up the new one, you need to restore it from a backup of the old one.
If you had iOS 5 on your old one:
Your new phone should also have iOS 5, so on the setup screens, wait until you get to the menu that allows you to select "Restore from iCloud Backup."
If you did not have iOS 5 on your old one:
You can plug in the new phone to iTunes, select Restore. Let it do it's thing, and when it's done, select Restore from Backup.

  • How do I selectively erase old data from old computers on my Time Capsule to make room for my new computer data?

My new computer did one complete backup on the Time Capsule now I get the message that there is insufficient room to complete further backups.
(128 GB available, my backup size is 170GB but the time capsule is 998GB)
I suspect that information from old computers is there. How do I selectively remove that information or do I have to erase the whole Time Capsule and start over with my new computer and backup again?

Check the info here.. but big warning .. it often fails.. if you want to keep your old backups archive them off the TC to USB drive.. then erase and start fresh clean backup.

  • I got a virus and need to save my data before resetting mozilla thunderbird

I tried to get my messages with my computer and the only messages coming through is a newsletter from Thalia - a german bookstore. I can get my mails with the iphone - but of course I need to use my laptop as well for the communication.
Now - I want to save all the data - mails, attachments... and reset the mozilla - hoping that this will work.
    I appreciate your support

I would recommend saving a copy of your profile; see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb
copy the folder to an separate folder or external drive.
Then you can reload or update TB. The new TB should still use the profile you had before, but at least you have a backup position.

  • I'm "rebuilding" my raid -- do I need to "erase" my raid's hard drives

As some of you know I've been having a weird problem with my raid. One of my drives is failing but for whatever reason I am unable to replace it and create a "hot spare" and then expanding it to re-create my raid.  There's some
I am finishing my current project today and plan to start today or tomorrow  the tedius process (well at least time consuming) of redoing my raid.
I have 4 drives, and know which one has been failing.  So I have my new drive ready to go.   (Actually I bought an extra drive so in theory I have a total of FIVE hard drives, in case that is helpful in your suggestions.)
I have done a total backup of my files, so I am wondering if I need to "erase" the data on the 3 drives that I will be re-using.
I will be going over my old notes to remember how I created my raid, but if you have any suggestions for me as I "start from scratch" let me know.
I have also ordered this and will be picking it up today:   http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816212014

The fix of the raid is apparently finished.  The Volume state is back to NORMAL, reports the Areca Raid Storage manager.
However the raid is showing a capacity of only 3TB
Showed that also after a reboot of computer.
Do I need to do anything to get it to be closer to 4TB  (I have 4  1-TB drives.
See attached screen capture.  I have 4 drives in the array.  Each 1tb.
    See attached screen capture.
WIndows explorer is showing the capacity of the raid as 2,999,862,696 bytes.

  • HT204053 Hello l bought second hand iphone 4 and l cant Log in lclood because System says that l reach max number of free Apple accounts so how can l erase old accounts that l dont know ???

Where l have to write msg or do to solve my ıd problem l want to use l cloud but there are multiple accounts on my ıphone from old user l need to erase old accounts to use mine pls help me

You can't erase or delete iCloud accounts, you can only stop using them.  If the previous owner already created the maximum number of iCloud accounts on your phone, all you can do is either re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account to use on another iOS device or Mac (running OS X 10.7.2 or later), if you have one.

  • Getting back my old data after HD crash

I've just erased my mac hard drive becuase it was corrupt and re-installed OSX, I did the simple erase with the disc utility.
I know the data still exists on my hard drive and will just be over written with new data when it comes along.
Is there any piece of (free) software I can use to get back my old data?
    Thanks

Unfortunately you reinstalled OS X which means you've already overwritten the drive. You should have recovered your data before erasing the drive and reinstalling. Or better yet you should have been maintaining backups.
    Basics of File Recovery
If you empty the Trash the files are gone. Recovery is possible but you must not allow any additional writes to the hard drive - shut it down. When you delete files you erase only the directory entries, not the files themselves. However, the space occupied by the files has been returned to the system as available for storage. Writing to the drive will then eventually overwrite the space once occupied by the deleted files in which case the files are lost permanently. Also if you save a file over an existing file of the same name, then the old file is overwritten and cannot be recovered.
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten with recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

No, it will not affect the iPhone 6 content if you wipe the old iPhone 4s.
