Got an alert from Mozilla FireFox saying I have virus on CPU, however, Avira software showes nothing. What to do?
While browsing a Mozilla Firefox alert popped up, stating that I had some activity going on. It said push the start tab to run a test, I did this. The results were that I had a virus (Trojan horse and Malware) on my computer. To fix, it said to download something from Creative Technologies...I did not download - not knowing what it was. My Avira anits-virus software shows nothing. Who is right/trust, and what should I do if I encounter it again???

If you suspect malware issue, Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

I have saved some internet pages from mozilla firefox as html pages in F:/ drive....i am using windows7...whenever i open these files without internet connection....then it opens only for a short time and suddenly crashes by displaying the message like that:-

Check the file name for capitalization or other typing errors.

In Acrobat Pro, open the form and go to the Advanced menu and choose enable usage rights for Reader users.
Now, they will be able to fill out the form and save it to send it back to you in an email.
Be aware that there is a 500 use per form limit so this isn't a good answer for high volume use forms. -
On my wife's computer the words below the Mozilla Firefox shortcut icon suddenly and without any action on her part that she is aware of changed from "mozilla Firefox" to "BOLB". Clicking the icon opened Firefox without problems.
Deleting the icon and re-creating it solved the problem in terms of the icon appearing as it used to and should but I'm concerned that there may be an underlying issue. Should we be worried? We use and religiously update AVAST antivirus software (the free version).Sorry that should have been the Firefox shortcut on your desktop and not the desktop.
You can right-click the Firefox icon on your desktop and open the Properties and place a check mark in the Read-only check box. That will prevent other program from modifying the name or other properties of that shortcut. -
iTunes keeps saying its the latest version. Ive downloaded a 4.3.5.ipsw but when I try and restore from this iTunes says the firmware isn't compatible...any idea's what to do next?
The iPod 3g will only support iOS up to 4.2.1 and nothing beyond that.

no synch choice in safari. So how do I synch my bookmarks in safari to firefox when the synch icon firefox says you have to use does not exist in safari?
I cannot set up synch with bookmarks in safari since there is no synch icon in preferences in safari.This is crazy. The directions on firefox keep telling you to go to links that do not exist to import bookmarks from safari.
For example, it says;
Firefox imports Safari settings automatically. Just go to File > Import... and select Safari. In the next window, check the boxes of what you want to import. For example, your Safari Bookmarks will appear in Firefox's Bookmarks menu as "From Safari." Whatever other bookmarks you had on your Safari Bookmarks Bar will automatically appear on your Firefox Bookmarks Bar, too.
BUT THERE IS NO IMPORT LINK UNDER FILES ON FIREFOX!
Then I tried to add a device. I got the code but the continue link was not on ever. I tried it over and over and it does not work.
WHO MAKES THIS SYSTEM??? How can something that should be so simple be so impossible, and why does Firefox direct you to links that do not exist or, if they exist, do not work!

Every time I try to purchase a song from itunes, it says I have to put in security questions and answer them, which it's never done before. Then after I do the questions, it says that an error occurred and my changes couldn't be saved. It has been doing this for weeks, and I can't purchase anything! HELP!
Hi mterry1723, one solution that might be worth trying is this:
- Close iTunes, if it's open
- Open Safari and got to 'Preferences'
- Select 'Security' on the top
- Untick all the security options in the menu
- Click the 'Show Cookies' button and look for all the 'apple' entries in the left-hand column.
- Highlight them (select them collectively) and press 'Remove'
- Now open iTunes and buy the song as usual.
- You may be asked to do the same security process as before, so do as asked.
- Hopefully, the security check will now have accepted your answers and start downloading the song as normal.
Remember to re-tick all the required security options you had just un-ticked in Safari preferences. You don't need to bother about opening the cookies again.
I hope this has worked for you and my profoundest apologies if it has not. Worth a go, though!

Hello, I have updated to the newest version of Pages and yet when I open a document to use it says, "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document." When I got to install it again it says I have already done that. Anybody have any tricks? Thanks!
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

This is a user to user forum.
Use the contact page to get a hold of Adobe and give them as much detail as possible on where you received the virus. It is possible that the virus became active about the same time you downloaded from Adobe making you think that is where it came from. But viruses have been known to activate after a set time. That may or may not be the case for you, just making you aware that something else could have been the culprit. -

In itunes, when i plug my 16gb iphone in, it says i have 5.8gb of "other" filled on my phone, what is "other" and how do i delete it so i can put more music on
I know by the date of this thread that I'm probably too late to help you but I had the same problem and just figured out what the "other" really was. It is application archives.
I'll explain it if you're curious, if not just skip to the next paragraph. When you sync your device and it is trying to update apps it doesn't want to lose the old app while its doing that. So it uploads an "application archive" zip file. Those files normally get deleted once the sync is over, but If that sync gets interupted you have all those zip files there taking up space.
You don't have to restore your iOS device and lose all your contacts, messages, app data. All you have to do is use a iOS device file browser and delete some old partial apps from incompleted syncs.
I use "DiskAid" or "iFunBox" but you can use any app that can change the files on your device. I'm going to tell you how to do it using DiskAid.
First download and install DiskAid
Once it's installled open it and plug in your device.
Click on your iPhone/iPod/iPad then on:
Storage, then
Media, then
Application Archives,
Then just delete all thos zip files! (they will usually have weird name such as "com.NameOfTheCompanyWhoMadeTheApp.NameOfTheApp.zip" (Except it would have the name of the company and the app instead.
It won't change anything else on your device. It's perfectly safe.

Delete the connection history for the hub3 on the phone.
Then delete the device from the hub.

Click Settings
(If this is the first time you've accessed the hub, you'll need to change the admin password)
Click Advanced settings and then Continue to Advanced settings
Click home network
Look for your iPhone and click on this
Click delete device.
