Got an error message in German when setting up iCloud

Got the following message during setup of the iCloud control panel on my PC running Windows 7: Der automatische Refresh konnte nicht gestartet werden

And now, with the new iCloud Control Panel 1.1, still an error, in English this time:

It looks to me like it is a problem on your Windows computer not being able to start an application. It may help if you know or can determine which program Windows is trying to open when you upload photos -- there can be many different ones and it can be set by the user. If you are using Windows 7, you may need to check your Autoplay settings. The result is that the project would not load in the edit Projects window. I can see the file in the finder window and it will launch iMovie but the file itself will not load in the projects window.
I have contacted apple support and they tried to do a few things... to no available.
With my limited knowledge of file structures I assume that the header file must be corrupt.
Is there a 3rd party utility that can decompile and fix the file structure so it will load properly. I've been working on this project since june and would hate to have to redo the whole thing again.

I got this error message when verifying the disk

The electricity in my apartment was abruptly shut down while I was using my imac. After I'd got all the electricity back on, I turn on my mac and found that when I verified the disk in disk utility I got this error message.

I'd stay away from disk warrior etc. Try disk utility.
DiskWarrior is not a disk repair program in the conventional sense. Instead of patching the original directory, it uses a patent-pending technology to quickly build a new replacement directory using data recovered from the original directory, thereby recovering files and folders that you thought were lost and that no other program could recover.
I've never had trouble with Journaled HFS+ volumes but if I did I try disk utility to repair. Then run fsck from single-user-mode. Then, if that failed I'd pull my data off and erase.
I've never had any persistent luck with norton type utilities, the problems always come back until I erase.

Sounds like a bogus pop up. In any case power down your Mac, your modem, your router. Then power back up in 1 minute sequence; modem, router, Mac.

I tried the temp fix you mentioned, it didn't work. I could not delete all of the old itunes files, the uninstallers would crash half way through and if I tried to manually delete anything it also gave me an error, so reinstalling the older version would not work.
Frankly, this whole thing has got me ****** off. judging by the amount of complaints here, there must be a lot of people having this problem, yet Apple has let it go on for almost 2 weeks. What kind of inept coders are they employing if they can let an update that completely frags their software get through QA.
