  • Is there a COMPONENT video OUT solution for the iBook?

I am currently using Apple's Video Adapter (mini-VGA to S-Video) to hook up to my widescreen. Let's face it, S-Video *****. I am trying to find a solution that would allow me to get component video out of my iBook and run that into my widescreen.
Is there a VGA->Component Video Adapter available that would work with the mini-VGA -> VGA adapter that ships with the iBook? (Or some other way to get a component video signal?)
    Thanks!

    Hi Mactivist,
i am not an expert on this video stuff but I think
you might find this useful. Although the
procedure described is about a Mac Mini (which has a
dvi connector) the guy actually used a DVI-VGA
adapter. Therefore, I believe, the set-up described
    should work for you too.

Unfortunately, iBooks do not have DVI out. What I really need is a VGA to Component video adapter.
And for the person who wasn't sure what a component video cable looks like, this is a cable that has 3 rca-like plugs on it, each one supplies a different color (RGB I think).
So far, I've not found a VGA adapter that can do this unless you are using an ATI video card as the source.

  • Intel iMac Component Video Out

Has anyone tried a component video out connection to an HDTV from the Intel iMac? I've read from the ATI website that the new Radeon X1600 card supports component video out with an adapter.
There was never a really good way to do this with previous Mac models.

A little more news about component out from the Intel iMac 20"
The VGA adapter included with my 12" iBook does not fit the mini-dvi port on the iMac. So you need to buy a new adapter from Apple.
    Also:
I tried using a VGA-to-component cable with the iBook VGA adapter and a standard television set. The cable is designed to interface a component-out DVD player to a VGA-in BenQ projector. I ran the cable to the component-in jacks on my Sanyo (analog-non HD) television. No go. Tried several resolutions and adapter refresh rates, and got some smeared video, but it made me nervous and I stopped experimenting. Haven't tried this cable with my HDTV for fear of damage.
Basically, the cable was meant to take a video signal from the DVD player to the projector. My experiment was mac to TV.
So sad, oh so sad ;<

  • MSI R6850 Cyclone: No Video Out

Hello, very new to board, I will try to be complete with information...
    Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 MB
    CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650
    Intel Core i3 2120
I built the system, had everything working, put it on the shelf to wait for some parts and when I started a week later, up I got no video out from card. I get video out from mainboard through HDMI (Intel HD2000) but I cant get video card to respond. Replaced Mainboard and still have same results (or lack of results). I tried card on an old P5K-E with Core2 Duo, but am not sure about my PSU and mainboard config I got a video card error (bios beeps) on the P5K-E.
What is weird is that everything was working great and then nothing after doing nothing special to system in the interim. I hooked up mainboard headers and that is it. To test I removed all mainboard headers except power sw and still nothing. Any suggestions? Cards don't normally just go bad do they? I appreciate your help and can give more info if necessary.

Cards don't normally just go bad do they?
Usually not.  But if you can confirm that the card does not work with proper power supply in another system and the issue remains the same even though you replaced the mainboard and tested all its PCI-E x16 slots, then it somehow got damaged against all likelyhood.  Who knows: Perhaps there was some sort of static discharge at some point that broke something.
Another video card works fine in your system?
If that is the case, I would suggest you get the card RMAed as fast as possible in order to get a replacement as soon as possible.

  • Iphone for VGA Video Out not working

We have the Iphone/iPad VGA to Monitor connector. We tested it with 3 different iPhone 4 phones... It worked on 2 of them, but the 3rd woudn't work. What possible reason would it not work? The 3 phones had software of 4.3 and higher...

    Dr. L,
The previous iPod's did not support component video out for newer televisions that support it. The box for the older Video out cables do not say they support the iPhone.
The current video out cables are available in either component or composite video out. They also say they support the iPhone on the box.
In addition when shopping the Apple Store online for iPod or iPhone accessories there is a compatibility guide which shows icons of the iPod models or iPhone that are supported.
Overall my personal experience is that this, and other Apple specific ones, are much smaller compatibility, and downtime driver for IT than many of them I have run across supporting a variety of computer and networking platforms over the last 23 years.
    Hope this helps,

  • Iphone Videos & Video Out not working

    Hi All,
I have several TV programmes on my iphone, and yet when i plug the iphone into my TV using the apple composite AV cable, and tell the iphone to display on screen nothing happens, no sound or picture at all.
I have just moved to Chicago from London so the video setting in the Iphone is PAL, could that be what is affecting it, should I change this setting ? The TV in the apartment is quite old fashioned and a brand name I don't recognise (Insignia CRT) so not sure whether it is the TV, but it has the right inputs.
    Any ideas much appreciated
    Thanks

  • Component Video converter?

    Hi,
None of my equipment (tv, a/v reciever, etc) has componenet video inputs. I have composite video and s-video on my a/v receiver. Has anyone had any luck finding converters for the component video cable so that they can hook up their AppleTV to such devices?
    Thanks,

I have a panasonic a/v reciever that takes various inputs from my devices such as the DVD player, DVR, VCR, CD player, etc... Unfortunately, even though it's only a year or two old, it only accepts s-video, RCA, and optical audio inputs. It's a very nice surround sound system set up but it's looking like all the new devices have component video out. There doesn't seem to be any corresponding receiver system that can accept all those signals and send them to the speakers/TV.
What is everyone connecting all their devices to? Directly to their HDTV? Personally, I currently have in my set up a DVD player, ReplayTV, Playstation 2, Nintendo64, and an Airport Express. I'm pretty much at a loss right now as to how to get this settup to recieve the AppleTV input.

  • Importing Analog Component Video

I'm using a Sony J-30 deck to import Beta SP and want to import at a higher quality than the Firewire out in the back. I was wondering if I could use the Component Video out instead? If so, what type of hardware do I need to convert to a digital signal? My hope is to be able to import as DVC50.

Thanks, I installed a Blackmagic HD extreme 2 and am having capture problems. I can control the deck from fcp, but no audio or video comes through. The only way I can import is by using capture now and the clip Import is all black with no audio. Have tried multiple import settings, but still no luck. Please shine some light on me.

  • IPod touch video out - iPlayer

    Hi
Does iPlayer work through the video out of an ipod touch? e.g. using the universal dock and a cable from the dock to the TV?
    Thanks

Great question, shame it's not answered yet. From other threads it seems there are limitatinos on what shows, and Safari doesn't seem to be included.
I too would like to know, Furthermore, will it significantly affect the quality of the video if I choose compsite or component video out cables; and does 'component', for the iPod Touch, mean RGB or YPbPr (my palmsa TV supports the latter).
Welcome a reply if anyone has one!

  • Video Out Web Browsing?

Does the iPod touch component video out cable support web browsing on your tv?

Does that help? Usually stuff that hooks up to a tv shows whatever you're looking at say on your ipod, pda, or laptop. Although to read text like when on the web and looking at the tv...prolly hard to read. I try to do it with my macbook pro and it is very hard to read.

  • How can I do live streaming with a Mac Book Pro 2011, using a new model of Sony HD camcorder which does not have firewire out/input? it comes only with a component video output, USB, HDMI and composite RCA output?

I need to do live streaming with a Mac Book Pro 2011, using a new model of Sony HD camcorder (http://store.sony.co...ber=HDRAX2000/H) ..this camcorder model does not have firewire out/input ..it comes only with a component video output, USB, HDMI and composite A/V video output..
I wonder how can I plug this camcorder to the firewire port of my laptop? Browsing on internet I found that Grass Valley Company produces this converter http://www.amazon.co...=A17MC6HOH9AVE6 ..but I am not sure -not even after checking the amazon reviews- if this device will send the video signal through firewire to my laptop, in order to live streaming properly? ..anyone in this forum could help me please?
    Thanx

I can't broadcast with the built in iSight webcam... how would I zoom in or zoom out? or how would I pan? I've seem people doing it walking with their laptops but that's not an option for me... there's nothing wrong with my USB ports but that's neither an option to stream video because as far as I know through USB you can't connect video in apple operating systems ..you can for sure plug any video cam or photo camera through usb but as a drive to transfer data not as a live video camera...  is by firewire an old interface developed by apple that you can connect all sorts of cameras to apple computers... unfortunately my new sony HDR-AX2000 camcorder doesn't have firewire output...
    thanx

Are you running the 9.0.1 Update of the program and on what computer operating system is it running?
Is your video card/graphics card driver up to date according to the manufacturer of the card?
Is your computer optimized, including maintenance of pile ups of preview files, conformed audio files, and conformed video files?
Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer with Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
What are your project settings and what are the properties of your source media? When you say that "used to be able to export...." is that on the same computer, same brand/model/settings for the camera recording the video now in use, same Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
Where player are you using for the playback of these exports?
Please give us more details on the size of the projects (then and now) as well as details of the customized export settings in your Share/Computer/ route. Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 is only a 32 bit application running in 32 bit or 64 bit system. Not sure if computer resources might be taxed more so now than before.
    More later.

  • IPod Touch 2nd Gen Video Out Problem with Apple Component Cable

I'm trying to get video out working with my iPod touch connected to my TV. Here's the information.
32 GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen
    Apple Universal Dock (current version.)
Apple Component Out cable for iPod (current version that connects with a dock connector.
I've connected the component cables into the component video input on my TV. When I start playing any video (purchased off iTunes store in Standard Def,) I get a scrambled picture that appears to be the video, and no sound. I purchased the TV in South Korea and haven't gotten to test it yet on a TV back in the US. I have my video out settings with wide screen turned off and set to NTSC (South Korea uses NTSC.) I've also tried every setting combination, and switching the cable connections with the same or similar results. Sorry if a similar problem has been posted elsewhere, but after searching, I couldn't find any similar behavior. Any ideas on what might be the cause? I don't have any other component devices to check if the component on the TV is bad.

I've got that same problem: iPod Touch 2nd Gen, Apple Component Cables, and an HD TV.
The funny thing is, the cable works fine with an iPod Classic (160 GB) but not for the iPod Touch. Can anyone explain why that is?

  • Mac-Mini HTPC Video-Out Problems (Component to DVI)

I recently decided to go with a Mac-Mini as the central-brain of my HTPC configuration, and I was immediately halted in the process of getting things working by my inability to properly output video from the Mac-Mini such that it's even visible on my 50" Plasma TV (Panasonic TH-50PHW3).
Neither of my A/V Receivers (Denon AVR-3805 & Denon AVR-2805) have HDMI inputs, but both of them have component video inputs for HD content, so I purchased the DVI-to-Component cable linked below to use for outputting video from my Mac-Mini to the Denon:
    http://sewelldirect.com/DVI-to-Component-Adapter-Cable-6ft.asp
Needless to say, nothing I've tried has been effective in my Mac-Mini being displayed on my Plasma TV??
    Any thoughts?

From other threads I see that others have tried and failed at this. The adapter cables don't work with the Mini (or other Macs as far as I know). Apparently you need a "transcoder" box. It will apparently take the DVI port's RGB signals and convert them to Y-Pb-Pr component signals.
The transcoders can also cost a couple hundred bucs. Check out some of the discussions at http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=824143
Here is a relatively cheap one that seems to work: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=63079 2&CatId=1430
Other option is to go with a S-Video adapter http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9267G/A but you will loose resolution.l

Sounds like an activation issue. Quite Premiere Pro. Sign out of Creative Cloud. Restart Premiere Pro. Sign back in: http://bit.ly/CC-sign-out
    Hope that works for you.
