Got electrocuted by ipod headphones

I listened to my ipod 5 minutes while walking to school at 48% volume, when i got there i opened my locker and then paused my ipod and took out the right ear piece to listen to my friend talk. About 5 seconds later the headphone crackled and then a jolt of electricity jumped through my ear, my ear started to throb in pain and hurt for about 15 minutes and then started to ring and now that the ringing has stopped it feels like pressure is stuck in my ear. Where should i got to email apple about this problem cause i don't want it to happen again cause it hurt really bad or have permenant damage done to my ear.
To add to this, these are my second pair of headphones cause my first pair the right ear bud shot craps.

Sorry to hear about your painful experience but
FYI,
to electrocute is to kill using electricity. If
you
live to tell the tale, you’ve been shocked, but
not
electrocuted.
That's not correct:
e·lec·tro·cute vt
1. to cause injury or death with an electric shock
2. to execute somebody by means of the electric
chair

  • Best headphones like the version 1 ipod headphones?

I have had my headphones since before version 2 of the headphones that came with the ipod were released.
It has endured over a year of every day use and is starting to break. Right under where the 2 headphones split/come togther, is broken and the wire sometimes comes out and i have to shove it back in there.
I have 2 of the version 2 ipod headphones but dont like them as much. And this is the only ipod that came with version 1 headphones (the other 3 had version 2).
I got some on e-bay but they turned out to be fake and they had close to the same look, but was terrable compared to my ipod ones (i got 6 for $12 including shipping).
Does anyone know where i can either, Get some version 1 ipod headphones for cheap. Or get some that are similar and cheap.

For cheap, not bad quality headphones, most people recommend the Creative EP-480. They sell for about 15 bucks and come in different colors.

I was using my iPod today using the standard headphones
all of a sudden I lost stereo the right earbud just stopped working
now I get mono sound out of the left earbud... but I payed extra for another pair of these iPod headphones after my first ones bit the dust and now I want to resolve this without spending anymore $$
    Does anyone have any ideas?
All responses if helpful will be rewarded points!
    Thanks in Advance,

    Yes I agree Mitch...
1 year would be great out of standard headphones
but the problem is that I got these 2 weeks ago and they have already gone south on me
I have no problem with headphones...
I use a pair of Sennheisers regularly, as well I have an excellent pair of Sony DJ Headphones
But I was using these for earbuds when I don't excellent sound quality... and let's just say a pair of DJ headphones don't work so well when you need to wear sound-deadening ear muffs while working...
so does anyone have a SOLUTION to the problem?...
Once again I want full stereo from these realtively new (2 week old) standard iPod headphones

  • ***? ipod headphones  no replacement??? hellp

where the heck can i buy replacement ipod headphones exactly like i got when i bought my ipod?

Any particular reason why? From a technical standpoint, they're terrible. Why not use this opportunity to get a decent set instead?
Seems this is the cloest you can get from the Apple store. Not the exact ones, but they are Apple branded; which I assume is the only reason you could've wanted the exact ones you had before:

  • Without a receipt, but with a bank statement, will I be able to get a free replacement on my broken iPod headphones, bought only two months ago?

    Hi,
I bought a new pair of iPod headphones just over two months ago from an HMV store, and in the last few days, one of the headphones has stopped working altogether. Unfortunately, I no longer have the receipt for the headphones, but I do have the information booklet, the one year warranty statement and a bank statement showing the transaction of when I purchased the headphones. Am I still able to get a refund or replacement for my headphones, as the damage was not my fault, just a technical fault?
    Thanking you in advance,
    Natasha

Yes. Make a trip to your local Apple Store and show them what is going on. Since the headset is still under a year old, they should swap it out for you at no cost. Unless for some reason they deem the issue the result of misuse or abuse, but that doesn't sound like the case here.

  • Recently got a new iPod 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod - any suggestions?

Recently got a new iPod Touch 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod after multiple attempts, despite all songs showing properly on the Mac and multiple syncs occurring after all songs were properly reflected on the Mac.  I updated iTunes Match from the iTunes Store menu as well pre-sync.
I should mention that I had previously had the library on a Dell (which is still running) and shared it on my home network.  While all iTunes purchases now show in the Dell, the Mac is the device I use for all syncs.
There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the iCloud physical sync failure - some songs were legacy, some were purchased via the PC, some on the old iPod.
The Mac shows all the songs correctly and none show iCloud status -all have been downloaded, but the downloaded songs that were previously showing up as iCloud based aren't syncing to the iPod.
Is there any way to force all music being seen by my iPod as iCloud to download to so I can listen to them offline?  Is there a way to force the sync from iTunes?

The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts.  Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.

Copy the music from Nano to computer by:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
Then just sync to the new device

  • I got a new iPod my whole family has the same Apple ID I set it up and instead of using my old Game Center account it went to my sisters how do I set it to my old one?

Each person should have his/her own unique Apple ID.  Period.

Can anyone help me? I'm even OK with deleting the old Itunes account, and staring over.  I just really want to get the new Ipod under my own account, and be able to use it...

There is no such thing as a "sub-account."  Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account."  Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases.  iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account).  You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying.  You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend.  Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library.  Is that on a different computer?  How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod.  What is your "old iTunes"?  Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend?

  • My Ipad 2 external speakers does not work and headphones has popping sound. This all occured at the same time as my Iphone and Ipod headphones only played mono (no, the "mono" option is not on). How can there be audio issue for all these devices?

My IPad 2 external speaker does not work and the original headphones have popping sound when used. This all occurred at the same time as my IPhone and IPod headphones only plays mono (and no, the "mono" option is not on) with the original headphones, as well as, other headphones tested.  How can there be audio issue for all these devices at the same time?
As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.
    Peace,
    P. Dreadie

  • My daughter got a new ipod touch and set it up using my apple id.  It sync'ed and got my contacts, so she went ahead and deleted them off her ipod.  Unfortunately, my iphone then 'synced to the cloud' and I lost all my contacts.

My daughter got a new ipod touch and set it up using my apple id.  Once she sync'ed it, she had all my contacts, so she went ahead and deleted the ones she didn't want.  Unfortunately, my iphone then sync'ed to the cloud and all my contacts were wiped out (the ones she deleted).
So, I wiped my iphone and did an icloud backup/restore.  This restored all my apps, but my contacts are still the ones from when my daughter did her update.  It doesn't appear as though I got back my contacts, even though I chose an icloud backup from before the deletion.  Logging into icloud shows the reduced/deleted contacts, not the full list I had, and I can't see a way to revert back to an old copy.
Any ideas?  I thought restoring from the cloud would have done it, but the contacts I got were the 'current' copy, not an older/archived copy.
I'd appreciate any ideas.  None of the articles I found seemed to address retrieving an 'old' copy of your contacts from the cloud.

  • I've got the old Ipod touch and i want to update it but i can't!

I've got the old ipod Touch and everytime i want to download something it will say i need an update!! Ive tried nearly everything don't know how to make it work

If you're trying to run an app that requires a newer version of iOS, you may be out of luck. A 1st-generation iPod touch can only run up through iOS 3.1.3, and the 2nd-generation model only up through iOS 4.2.1. If you have one of those models and are trying to run an app that requires iOS 4.3 or later, you will not be able to do so.
If you're not sure of your model, see:

  • I got a new iPod nano 7th gen., but when I tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Some of the videos in your iTunes library cannot be copied to your iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod.

I got a new iPod nano 7th gen, but when i tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Soem of the videos in your iTunes library were not copied to yor iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod. What should I do?

I kept having a similar problem - 3 out of the 10 videos I had on iTunes wouldn't sync. They were in the right format and I KNEW they worked on my iPod because I'd RECORDED them on my iPod. I finally figured out what to do! Go to the movies in your iTunes library. Click on one that does not sync. Click on "Advanced" at the top of iTunes and choose "Create iPod or iPhone version". Once that's finished, be sure you delete the old version so you don't keep getting the error (or have 2 copies of the same video) and sync. This should eliminate the problem. At least it did for me!
