Got four in a frame ( pip ) lots of slivers.

I split one long clip into smaller clips all different durations then started to do a p.i.p. on four timelines making up a quad visual. When I started putting the clips together premiere started chopping little bits off the clips so that one on top would line up with one on the bottom etc. I ended up with a nightmare of these tiny little bits of clips all over the place and getting the larger clips to stay put was a task in itself resulting in even more slivers. I am sure there is some setting that I can turn off to prevent this, I hope. Could someone tell me how to do this please.

Don't worry about taking your time to get to the bottom of the problem. It took me a try, or two, before I realized what was happening. Had I not experienced the same and looked into the cause, back with the release of PrE 4, I would have been stymied as to the cause too. That behavior does not exist in PrPro, at least not that I have observed. When I first got PrE 4, and began playing with it, I was doing things pretty much as I had done for years in PrPro. Bang! Next thing I knew, I had sheared off a bunch of Frames. I could not understand what had happened. I then went more slowly, and it was not happening. I kept playing with it, until I WAS able to duplicate the situation, and realized that it was the "force" that I was exerting, when I butted-up the Clips. With just the right amount of "force," I could get that shearing every time. I then realized why so many PrE users were posting that they were finding "orphan" Frames out beyond where they thought their Timeline should end.
What they were doing was loading a lot of Clips in the Timeline, and then using the Scissors/Razor Tool to Trim their Clips (not doing the Trim in the Source Monitor with set In & Out-points. They'd be left with a gap (they could have used the Rt-click>Delete and Close Gap) and were quickly moving the edited Clip against the preceding one with enough force to shear off a Frame, or two. These were going to the end of the Timeline. After completing their editing, they had shortened their Timeline, but those "orphans" were still out at the end of the Timeline, and without scrolling, or zooming out, could not be seen. They'd Export/Share their files and have maybe five minutes of black video, followed by a bunch of single Frames with black between them.
I always do a zoom out (using the \ Backslash key) to see the entire Timeline, and also match up what I think my Runtime should be vs what my Program Monitor reported as my Runtime. They should match 100%. In my case, I'd been known to leave little, unused Clip pieces out at the end. Most often, these were not meant to be used, but sometimes they were just forgotten by me. As the Timeline decreased, as I tightened up edits, these "orphans" were left out there in space. Sometimes I'd find something that I just forgot to add, and would move it, as required. Most often, these were just deleted, as they were discards.
One is always learning. That is what makes getting up in the morning great for me - I'm gonna' learn something new!
Happy Editing,
Hunt

    I got four emails for the icloud terms and conditions and i cant find the i agree button in the email . Where is it?

    It is not properly connected to the network.
    Make sure location is set correctly
    DNS should be on auto (settings - general - network)
    Try ethernet
    Signal strength on device won't account for issues, you would need a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show accurate signal strength along with noise and nearby networks

    Tthe brute force method: start with Settings > iCloud and turn off Find My (you will need the password), then change the iCloud ID, then go to the apps such as Messages, FaceTime, etc, and delete the Apple ID and enter the new one.

  • Looking for photo frame with lots of features

    Look for ipad photo frame app. One that will let me display pics from various sources, like facebook, my servers in the home, flickr.
    Thanks

    I tried many apps, but I narrowed it down to... Iphonso.com Air Frame.
    It lets you view your facebook photos or friends', flickr via a bunch of categories, or enter tags. It includes your local photos.
    It does not have the ability yet to to include your network shares, but I am hoping they include this in the next version.
    So now looking at pics that are being streamed in from remote site, and at the same time listening to music that is also streamed in (via Home Sharing). Bliss.
    Thanks for all your help

  • Just got 3g-so now I get lots of dropped calls?

    So I live in a fairly rural area of Iowa, a college town of about 50,000. I just got 3g with At&t a few weeks ago. Ever since then, I have been experiencing some random dropped calls. When the other party tried to call back, they get my voicemail after a couple of rings or a "this number has been disconnected" greeting. I find it odd that just because I got 3g, I now get dropped calls. That has never been an issue for me before.
    Also, the first several minutes I am on google maps or another location based app, it says I am over 70 miles away. This only occurs on 3g too. THe problem eventually corrects itself. At&t has been looking into this issue, but anymore insight as to why might be good to know.
    Thanks

    AT&T coverage maps show 3G coverage in Iowa in only Cedar Rapids, Davenport, & Des Moines. http://www.wireless.att.com/coverageviewer/#?type=voice&3g=t&lat=42.022865811088 3&lon=-93.62675224438676&sci=10
    You will get better service if you turn 3G off. Go Settings > General > Network > 3G > OFF.

  • TS1702 Hi there! Am I alone having troubles with kids' app Little Pets Shop? Crazy invoices with €89,99 the "Wonderful Mountain"!! Has anybody got an idea? Thanks a lot

    Hi there! Am I alone having troubles with kids' app Little Pets Shop? Crazy invoices with €89,99 the "Wonderful Mountain"!! Has anybody got an idea? Thanks a lot

    One of your kids made an in app purchase that you did not know about. Some apps include in app purchase and games do this quite often. The game itself is free, but you might have to purchase additional items to enhance the game or to unlock certain levels.
    You can prevent this from happening in  Settings>General>Restrictions>In App Purchases>Off.

  • I have top sites as my place from which I log on saves having too many buttons on the tool bar - I have now got four rows of 7 can I put more if so how -

    I am not good at organizing - I have on my Top sites - which I see when I create a new Tab
    Is four rows of seven the limit - or can I add another row - it there actually a limit - sorry I am not good at this
    Hoping someone can be pleased to assist

    I don't know whether there is a limit, but 5x7 seems to work if I try that. What I did was modify the number of rows and columns this way:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.newtabpage.rows''' preference and change from 3 to 5, then click OK.
    (4) Double-click the '''browser.newtabpage.columns''' preference and change from 3 to 7, then click OK.
    You should be able to verify the results immediately by pressing Ctrl+t or clicking the new tab ("+") button. How does it look?
    (To me, they're too tiny, but you may have a bigger monitor...)

  • TS1389 Hi, I am Natalie Prince and I opened my Itunes account in 2006 when I got my Ipod.  I purchased lots of music.  Over the years I haved changed computers and phones.  I now have an HTC One and I want all the songs from my old account on it.

    I think I had an old itunes id.  When I go to Itunes on my program list all of my music comes up, there are probably a hundred or two songs.  But it never let me burn them to anything other than my Ipod.  I changed my password so now when I pull up my account there is no music.  Can anyone tell me how to find my old account and then copy that music to my HTC One.?

    elkelawdog wrote:

    Either you did or did not.  Do you not remember?
    elkelawdog wrote:

    Media is not burned to iDevices.  Burning an iDevice would destroy it.
    Why will iTunes not allow you to sync media to the iDevice?  What happens when trying to sync media to an iDevice?
    elkelawdog wrote:

    Changed password to what?
    Pull up what account?
    What does this have to do with iTunes?
    One does not pull up an account to access their media, they simply launch iTunes.
    Changing a password has nothing to do with accessing the media on the computer when one launches iTunes.
    What is the actual issue that is occurring?

    iTunes has nothing to do with putting media on a non-Apple device.

  • HT201412 My iphone 4S switches itself off regularly. The battery is well charged,however. So I don't understand what's going on. Anybody got any idea. Thanks a lots

    My 4S keeps on switching itself off for no apparent reason. I've had to restore 3 times already. Does anybody have an idea ? Thanks

    I should mention it is ios 6.1.3. The phone has now also started, after rebooting, showing the signal bars next to the wifi signal icon at the top but no "Sprint" type next to the bars as usual. And then after a few minutes it shuts down, shows the black screen with the white apple in the middle for a few moments, comes back up with the Waiting for Activation message, the signal bars pop up and the whole cycle just repeats itself.

  • Right way to dispose frame/components/containers?

    Hi,
    My application creates a lot of frames with lots of containers and components (heavyweights as well as light weights) inside them. I have obeserved that none of the frames/containers/components get finalized unless I do a remove/removeAll() over the respective container. Currently I just make a call to frame.dispose() to dispose it off and assume that all components would be reclaimed by the garbage collector at some point of time. Is that the right way to dispose off the frames and mark all its child components for garbage collection? Or is an explicit call to removeAll() required to release the memory. I am aware that garbage collection doesn't happen immediately and may take a while before the GC collects objects. I have run the application continuously for couple of hours and created/disposed a lot of frames during that period. GC recollected none of them (none of the components either) except for those that were removed by an explicit call to remove or removeAll during the lifetime of the session. I even hit OOM errors but none of the components were recollected.
    What could be the problem?
    Some additional information:
    I overridden removeNotify() and finalize() methods to see what's going on. For all components removeNotify() was called (even if I don't do explicit remove/removeAll and just dispose off the frame) but finalize never gets called. My methods:
         public void removeNotify()
              super.removeNotify();
              System.out.println("Remove notify called "+compId);
         protected void finalize() throws Throwable
              super.finalize();
              System.out.println("Finalized component "+compId);
         }Thanks in advance.

    Sorry to bother guys. The problem was not with AWT but with one evil component that was displayed inside most of my Frame classes and was also registered as an Observer with an Observable class. The event at which the component was supposed to unregister itself with Observable never got fired and this one reference prevented garbage collection of entire gui brigade. Damn! Tiny monster.
    Anyway the issue stands resolved. Thanks for your time.

  • Best Resoltion for the 7" Digital Photo Frame

    Hello,
    I have got a
    *Digital Photo Frame II, 7"W, 720 x 480, Sensor Touch, MP3 Player-Funktion PA3637K-1ETC*
    The Manual doesn't tell me about the best Resolution for the Pictures to put on.
    on the Web you can Find: 800 x 480 Pixel WVGA-Screen (720 x 480 Pixel sichtbarer Bereich)
    The samples are 726x 480 pixel.
    Now my Problem:
    When you put Pictures on it - *It cropps a bit on the right and left side and much more on the top and bottom.*
    I have tried a lot of sizes. Even on 720 x 480 it cropps.
    So my question is : What is the best Resolution for the PICs ?
    Best Regards
    Markus

    Sorry,
    check your calculator: 800:533 is NOT 1.562... Mine Says : 800:533 = 1.5009380863039399624765478424015
    That is less wrong than it cut's off.
    Try it: take a white pic with 800x533 and draw a black frame of 10 pixels on the border. you won't see it on all sides !
    That makes 20 pixels (10 on each side) of 533 cut off ... that is more than 0.0009380863039399624765478424015 error.

  • Cleaning up artifacts around video frame edges

    Long story short (and one I don't have all the technical details about), when recording DVCPROHD 1080p/24pA to P2 cards using a Panasonic HVX200, a strange flashing line artifact appears every four frames at the very top of the frame. Here's a quick GIF animation of two frames, one with the line, the other without (click to view in a pop-up):
    It's really distracting, and while I can crop this out for either web or DVD delivery, it's not really possible for BR. What I'm trying to do is figure out a good way to clean up or remove this artifact.
    I found Pixelan Clean Crop, and downloaded the demo; it works well. It basically blends a few lines together to effectively mask the flashing line. I'll buy this if necessary, but would prefer to do this with already-available plugins or techniques, if possible.
    I've also successfully masked the line using the CC Simple Wire Removal effect (copied CycoreFX from AE), and by using the frame offset option along with Hold keyframes, I can mask this. However, it kills real time playback almost immediately.
    Does anyone have any efficient or creative ways of eliminating this type of artifact using what's already available in Premiere? Or should I just pony up the cash for the Pixelan plugin and call it good?

    Does the "effect" only cover the pixels of the dark bar or does it actually extend further down the image as seen in the gif example?
    I assume by "effect" you're referring to the artifact? Truthfully, the sample above is a bit distorted; I blew up the portion of the frame where the artifact appears, so it looks much larger than it is in reality. Here's an unprocessed frame right from a clip:
    In the top left corner, running about a third of the way to the right, you'll see a pink line. There is also another pink line on the scan line above that that runs all the way across the frame. This flickers continuously, every fourth frame, which coincides with the 2:3:3:2 pulldown rate. If it was consistent, it wouldn't be that big of an issue (though still not right), but the flickering is so evident that eventually that's all you see!
    maybe you could consider Instant HD to resize the clips marginally.  I think it would do a great job on it.
    Thanks for the recommendation; fortunately, the Pixelan CleanCrop effect fixed this up easily, at a bargain basement price. Rendered reasonably quickly too.
    BTW - I have never seen this issue in my PAL HVXs (202)
    Of course not--you don't have to suffer the ignomies of NTSC video! Since you've got those even integer frame rates that not only divide into each other nicely, but also don't require any of this pulldown nonsense, you're good to go. Always gotta be somethin'...

  • Can we use frames and jsps together..

    Is it good to use frames with jsps.performence wise..bcos when iam calling jsps in frames it taking more time..to laod..
    regards,

    Remember, 2 frames == 2 HTTP requests. 3 frames == 3 requests, etc.
    It will take longer of course. To think otherwise is crazy. However there are times when the benefits are there. I've used them, expecially if it's a situation where taking a little longer on the initial load makes all other accesses faster. This is particularly the case when I've got a fancy UI that uses lots of graphics. I don't need to load the graphics more than once so I put them in separate frames and only have one frame (which is mostly text) change content.
