Please help. Got TopLink working, but now I can't run a JSP page

I am using JDeveloper 9.0.3.
I got TopLink working successfully. Meaning I can access the DB using my mapped TopLink classes from my java code in JDeveloper.
However, now I can't even run the default .jsp page.
I am getting the error:
Error instantiating application at file:/C:/LBIT/LBIT-oc4j-app.xml: Error parsing data-sources config at file:/C:/LBIT/LBIT-data-sources.xml: Fatal error at line 0 offset 0 in file:/C:/LBIT/LBIT-data-sources.xml: The encoding "windows-1252" is not supported.
If I go change the "LBIT-data-sources.xml" file to "ISO-8859-1," as soon as I run the .jsp page (from JDeveloper) the "LBIT-data-sources.xml" file gets overwritten with a new one that contains the "windows-1252" encoding line again.
What can I do to fix this???
I know someone else has run into this problem!!!

You could change the encoding by doing the following.
Stop Embedded OC4J Server (Run | Terminate | Embedded OC4J Server)
Tools | Preferences
Select Environment
Change the Encoding to ISO-xxxxx
Click OK
Run your JSP now.
Atleast this should fix encoding generated into data-sources.xml

The problem is that every time I try to open any program from Office 2011, I immediately get the following window, for example for Word: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This happens each and every time I try to open Word or other Office 2011 component.
Thinking it might be a licensing issue, I purchased and downloaded a new copy of Office 2011 from Amazon and installed it on my new MBP. Same issue once again.
I tried to remove all copies of Office 2011 from the MBP, but the instructions provided by Microsoft required about three page and seventeen steps and the page was somehow corrupted and would not print in its entirety, nor would it e-mail as anything other than a link to the corrupted page. Not trusting my memory, I decided not to try this without adult supervision.
I used Disk Utility to repair Disk Permissions, as described on an existing thread regarding the same problem, but to no avail.
I removed and later replaced the "Microsoft User Data" folder from the Documents folder, but that was no help.
I have copied the short version of the "Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0," below, for those of you with a deeper knowledge of the internal workings, or non-workings of things Mac when crossed with things MS.

Intel 82845G and xorg 1.8 - anyone got it working?

By 'working' I mean 'not crashing'. I can install xorg 1.8 just fine, but rebooting every half an hour is not my thing. The crashes happen even if I'm just typing away at the xterm.

There are some bug reports in both our and upstream bugtrackers but the issues are still open.
I'm quite happy w/ xorg 1.6 I have so it's not a life-or-death situation by any means. If you got it working, please tell me how you did it - there's a myriad of "switches" to flip and I'm too lazy / busy to try them all out. I've tried a few and got nowhere, so I'm asking you, my fellow Archers.

Same hardware here, having this issue for about two years now with linux in general, about six months ago I start using arch, to my surprise it didn't crash that much and when it did a least it took me to the console login, so no data was lost. a month ago I switch to arch completely and just for the fun of it I have four arch DE in my single computer the results are as follow:
Gnome=no crashes smooth performance even with composite enabled (the simple one build in gnome)
KDE=freezes on some heavy loaded webpages with flash media, a strange garbaged screen occurs when I am using some software in root mode like dolphin then it crash and takes me to login window. this could be kde I have no idea.
Xfce=freezes with heavy flash media once in a while. can be restarted by killing x.
LXDE=no crashes/freezes (I use it just for internet surfing)
all of the above with up to date software.
Coming from Ubuntu lucid I may said that the driver has been improved, and probably cutting the fat out of the system may improve performance. I use gnome as my main system and all I can say is that finally I can use my computer for something else other than trying to fix xorg and intel. I was really moved to buy a new one but Arch just give me some more juice out of this old machine. same intel card than described in the first post. this is definitely not my Ubuntu 8.04 which was flying in amazing compositing effects but a least is back to a tool I can work on.
All of my systems are fresh installs, all of them with the xorg 1.8 and the ..34.. kernel since the beginning, there is no xorg.conf file on any, I haven't had a crash in which I need to do a hard restart.

Just started MobileMe. Struggled with the setup of iCal but eventually got everything working fine for about a day. Then I started receiving an iCal error message stating that the URL was wrong. Of course, sync no longer works. What is correct URL?

Whether posting to iCal on my Mac Book or iPhone, sync seemed to be working fine for about a day. Then suddenly when I opened iCal on my Mac Book, I would receive the following iCal error message:
"The calendar https://cal.me.com/calendar/calendar/principals/users/1.1117025442/ was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct." I know where it is located but because I did not enter the URL when I set up MobileMe/iCal, I don't know what the correct URL should be.

I deleated numbers and pages files and apps on my iPhone and when I got to work all my files were gone from numbers and pages on my iPad. How do I get those files back on my iPad?

My storage was getting low on my iCloud, so I decided to delete my files from numbers and pages on my iPhone and delete the apps on my phone because i did not really use it on my phone. When I got to work and clicked on pages and numbers on my iPad the files were gone. I assume the files were deleted through iCloud. I did not want the files deleted on the iPad and would like to know how to get them back?

If you also backed up to your computer - you can restore from that backup - to retrieve the files. As far as I know- that should have no bearing on deleting them from iCloud - they should still be in that backup.
If you used iOS file sharing with your computer - and saved the files to your computer - you can retrieve them from there.
if the only place that the files were saved to was iCloud, I know of no way to get them back.

Newbie #2 - got AnyConnect working, can't get to work computers

This simple solution is evading me!
I successfully got AnyConnect working and I can get a VPN connection to my public static IP (69.x.x.x). I can ping devices on my home network (10.x.x.x) and surf the Internet from my home PC, but I can't ping any computer on my work network (192.x.x.x).
I added a NAT exemption rule (please see attached screenshot of the NAT exemption rule), and I entered the command management-access inside in the ASDM, but I still can't ping any work computer.

Just to make sure that the ICMP traffic/connections work with regards to firewall settings.
Make sure you have ICMP inspect enabled on your firewall.
My firewall is at the newest software so I'm not 100% sure if the menus/options are named in the sameway on your ASDM software.
Try to navigate the following sections
Configuration (in the top bar of the ASDM)
Firewall (in the bottom left button section)
Service Policy Rules (In the lefhand side with which is visible after choosing the previous section "Firewall)
There should be something called "inspection_default" in the main window
click to select it
above it is the "Edit" button, click it
In the opening window go to "Rule Actions"
Check the box on the "ICMP" section and then apply the configurations
There should also be a "Search" function in the ASDM. Somewhere in the top section of the ASDM window perhaps. If you type write "inspect" there (without the quotes) you should get the a search result that takes you to the to the section where you can edit the "inspect" configurations.
If you have the ASA in pretty basic configuration you could simply "drop" these configuration lines to the ASA by choosing
Tools (From the top most toolbar)
Command Line Interface
Choose Multiple Line
Copy/Paste the below configurations
Press "Send"
policy-map global_policy
class inspection_default

I got this working from a cisco 2911 router to Windows 7 computer.
As per many articles, you are missing:-

We have a urgent need to get iFS running in a Servlet 2.2 container and OC4J does not support iFS yet. I know this is not supported but has anyone got iFS working in Tomcat ? If so, pls do me a BIG favour by letting me have your config files, such as
- server.xml
- <tomcat home>\conf\web.xml
- web.xml for the tomcat context)
- wrapper.properties (if you are using tomcat as an NT service)
- tomcat-apache.conf (or equivalent)
- <oracle home>/apache/apache/conf/httd.conf
- A listing of relevant environment variables (by doing a "set>env.lis" or similar)
- and any other files you might think is relevant

files, I finally got the iFS up and running on my test machine.
Briefly here's what I did:

You may choose either the applications lib directory or the more

One hint on libraries: Tomcat will ignore ZIP files, you have to
use JAR. I renamed Oracle's classes12.zip to classes12.jar for
that reason.
5) Create settings.jar
This was the most tricky part. I packed everything under
ifs_home/settings into the file settings.zip, renamed this to
settings.jar and moved it to the WEB-INF/lib directory. Seems a
bit of a kludge to me, anyone with a better solution is welcome.
6) Start tomcat
7) try http://yourtomcathost:8080/ifs/files/index.html
You should see the ifs login screen then.
One word about the application environment. In this
configuration every user class has to go into
<tomcat_home>/ifs/files/WEB-INF/classes, the
ifs_home/user_classes is of no use here. And don't try to set
the classpath within catalina.bat, tomcat will completely ignore
this setting.
Finally, I know that this environment is not supported but as
long as the iFS servlet meets the standards, every standard
compliant servlet engine should do the job.

Back to Mac - Has anyone got it working?

I've hooked my laptop up to another ISP and i can't see my desktop in the Shared Section. When i'm on the same network I can see the desktop, share the screen and all that fun stuff. Has anyone got it working? Could it be my network configuration?

I had a read through the manual that came with Leopard last night and was a little dissapointed to read this part in regard to Back to My Mac:
With your .Mac membership, an internet connection, and Back to My Mac and sharing services turned on, you can access any of your computers from anywhere on the internet."
Sounds like you might need a .Mac account for Back to My Mac. I think you can do the same kind of thing with iChat though so i guess you can still take control of someones Mac over the net to help them fix a problem. But you may need .Mac account to, for example, access your home computer from your work computer.
I could be completely wrong and im certain someone will point this out if i am wrong. Im still getting to grips with all the new features here.

Belkin F8T03 USB Printer Adapter: Anybody ever got this working?

I've got quite a few bluetooth devices working with my new iMac 24, including Apple keyboard, mighty mouse, Palm device, Motorola Razr, phone headset, so pairing bluetooth devices is old hat for me.
I cannot for the life of me get this printer adapter working. I've tried for hours. I've seen several posts on the web that indicated they had success. What's the secret?
I am trying to unwire my Label writing printer from my iMac to minimize wires on the desktop.

I have a similar problem. After initial (updating/restoring) issues with my ipod mini which I won't bore you with, I got it working and charging successfully through my PC via the USB cable. Then I bought a USB power adapter for when I am away from my PC. When I connected my ipod to the power adapter it did the brief "do not disconnect" thing then "OK to disconnect" with no attempt to charge. I left it overnight and the following morning it had the battery/triangle/exclamation mark symbol and I had to reset the ipod to get it to work (I did this while still connected to the power adapter).
I borrowed a friend's firewire power adapter and that worked fine. I went back to the store and swapped my usb power adapter for another (firewire power adapter wasn't available) and it did the same as the first one. The ipod still charges fine via the PC and usb cable.
I don't get it! Can anyone help? Thanks

like the title says, I'm trying to get my TI v200 connected to the PC. But Tilp2 doesn't find the device. I'm using a silverlink (usb) cable and added
none /proc/bus/usb usbfs auto,busgid=108,busmode=0775,devgid=108,devmode=0664 0 0
to my fstab. But still no luck as root or user.
When trying to connect the v200, Tilp2 always shows:
Msg: failed to open the USB device.
Cause: Check that the USB cable is plugged in and that the calculator is turned ON! Also, check libusb and usbfs for valid permissions.
System: Unpassender IOCTL (I/O-Control) für das Gerät (errno = 25)
Anyone here who got it working?

I did. My calc is working.
What you need to do is to create a udev rule with the proper permissions for accessing the silverlink device. That's all.
I haven't my ti here, but get the product and vendor info from lsusb and set device permissions to 0660 or 0666 (it's up to you).

Yes I know. I'm very annoyed that Apple have dropped Front Row from Lion, it removes quite a bit of functionality from my iMac. I use it a lot. I've tried Plex, but don't like it at all.
