Got leopard 10.5.4, But wont INSTALL!!!!!

I got leopard today. its 10.5.4 and i restarted it and it made me choose a language and i chose it and then it said that it couldnt install. i know i meet the requirements i talked to apple many times to check. i bought it off of ebay and the guy said it was a purple disc and i got a grey disc. can someone please tell me what the deal is? why wont it install? can i somehow get it to install? i have available disc space on my HD.

Gray labeled discs are machine specific and will not work unless it was the same copy that came with your Mac Mini, which is not likely the case. You need the retail installer that does indeed come with a purplish label with a large black "X" on top.

I got this computer a few weeks ago and first thing i tried to install was iTunes off of the apple site and it wont install.
i can download the setup file to my computer and save to my documents but when i right click and click run as administrator, a loading sign will appear for two seconds then disappear... i need iTunes on this computer since it wouldnt install on my old laptop. i've even tried installing on safe mode and nothing. i just want iTunes on my computer.. any help?

HT2376 Trying to install scrapbook software but wont install due to quicktime

I recently tried to install Software Scrapbook Boutique on my MAC Pro OS X Version 10.7.4 and all the files wont install without Quicktime. I have Quicktime Version 10.1, and it won't work. I am administrater, I recently bought my laptop from a friend whose friend needed money to get out of town, so he's gone.
This is my first Mac so it anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. I just want to know what I'm doing wrong and how to fix this. Thank you.

Re-installed fresh Snow Leopard, Boot camp boots,but wont show on startup..

Ok, I had Boot Camp on my iMac with Snow Leopard fine. I decided to reinstall Snow Leopard fresh.
Chose the Mac HDD partition, it re-installed fine. I then thought I'd have to do the Boot Camp again, but I held don "alt" key and Boot Camp boots fine and works.
So I normally have the Boot Camp to boot 1st, as wife and kids use Windows. However I go into Boot Camp on Mac OS, and it doesn't show the boot camp startup disk. Where's it gone?
As I say everything is fine, apart from it now looks like its lost track of the Boot Camp partition.
Is there anyway I can get it back? I ran Boot Camp wizard on Mac, but it either wants to create a new Boot Camp partition, or run windows installer, both which I dont want.

Set the default startup disk in Windows.
There is no Boot Camp on Mac OS ("go into Boot Camp"?)
Try:
System Preferences / Startup Disk
On Windows, the Boot Camp Control Panel to used set the default OS
Wizard: by this assume Boot Camp Assistant, which is only a partitioning tool.
Boot Camp doesn't "boot," Windows boots.
Boot Camp - Assistant to create a partition
Boot Camp - Set of drivers and services
Boot Camp - Control panel in Windows to set default boot OS (Mac OS X volumes or Windows, with some other features for laptops I believe)
Personally, too many things use the same name and lead to misunderstandings.

I have tried many times today to install iTunes 10.5 in order to update to iOS5 on my Iphone 4 however it just wont work. I have a MacBook Pro and when I use the software update it says that I have already downloaded iTunes 10.5 but when I go to install it and it says it is writing the files and the bluw bar is working its way across the page and then becomes very very slow and and at the last millimetre it seems to just hang there and do nothing. I even left if like this for several hours and nothing progressed. I have since tried to update via the iTunes program and the same problem happens. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.

Windows Recognizes but wont install ipod

Ive Just recently had my ipod replaced as it wouldnt hold its charge anymore when i got the "new" one back windows didnt recognise the ipod and tried to install it the add hardware bit that pops up when you plug in new usb devices.
It recognises that its an ipod but cannont find the drivers.
if i check in device manager it is listed as another device with an exclamation mark next to it.
I have tried to restore the ipod but when i bring it up im just get a message that i need to connect an ipod to the computer.
I have tried the force disk mode but tis does not work either.
Any Ideas its driving me mad .

Actually they do. The latest version of iTunes is Vista compatible.
A lot of people have had problems with the iPod Shuffle and Vista. It is not an iPod problem, but rather a problem with Vista recognizing some flash based drives (of which the Nano and Shuffle are examples).
A couple of solutions to the Vista problem I have seen are as follows:
1) The first solution is that Vista sometimes does not look for drivers in the correct place. When the wizard asks you to provide a location for the drivers type in C:\WINDOWS\System32 and see if it properly locates and detects the iPod and loads the drivers.
2) Have a look in the hardware device list inside Control Pane. You may see you iPod listed (it should appear under the other devices heading) with a yellow triangle next to it. If it appears here then right click it select properties. Next click update device driver. Do not do the automatic find, rather click "I will choose the device from a list." Click on "storage device." With any luck VISTA now finds a USB mass storage device and install it properly.

Iphone software update downloads on itunes but wont install. iphone 5 now in recovery mode.

Hi All,
Tonight i tried to upgrade my iPhone 5's software (iOS 8) but the download failed and my phone went into recovery mode.
Now after downloading the iPhone software update via iTunes it will not install on my phone. Just says 'download complete' then 'processing file' then nothing. Clciking restore iphone agian we just go through the same loop of downloading the same software.
Appreciate any help.

I was a fool thinking downloading OS X MAVERICKS offline would be easy if I cleared my WHOLE HD, WELL the past 2 days ive been trying to figure it out in disk utilities and in terminal to run os x mavericks installer but nothing will work, it also says OS X cant be installed because a recovery system cant be crested.... plzz... someone help.. idk, ive been pretty **** emotional about this and about to throw laptop out the window..

This might depend on how you made your installer. If it is a flash pen installer that you made yourself, depending on how you made it, it has consequences on what is installed.
I am assuming that you have made an installer?
If you have and you did it manually, without using the Terminal command then it is a know caveat that a recovery partition is not installed as part of that procedure. The second method to create a bootable installer, using Terminal, will allow and install a recovery partition.

Alternatively, have you zapped the PRAM and SMC, prior to trying to install?

I can download a program but wont instal

I downloaded a free trail of a DJ software i am thinking of buying, but after i downloaded it, i click to open and it said i couldn't install because its says this program can not be run is DOS mode.
Can someone help me? Im on my first mac and am absolutely stuck lol

We need more information, can you provide the URL for the download so we can look at the specifications. If it isn't designed to run in OS X then that is your problem.

My firmware has downloaded but wont install the update.

I recently bought an older macbook, and I went to install updates on it. All but one of them inatstalled. The frimware for some reason will not install. The macbook was purchased in 2009, and is running off of mac os x 10.6.8. im not sure if any of this information is helpful?

Please enter your Mac's serial number on this page. Please do NOT post it here. You can get your Mac's serial number by clicking on the apple logo at the top left and choosing, About This Mac. Or, hold down the Option key and click on the apple. With the Option key held down, the first choice will instead be System Information. That's enough info for users here to see what model Mac you have. The ROM version is your current firmware level. From there, we can look to see what, if any firmware updates are supposed to be available for your Mac. I ask because the update you're being told to apply my be in error and there really is nothing to apply.

Flash catalyst trial has downloaded but wont install on my mac os Lion. please help!!

flash catalyst downloaded fine but when i came to installing it, no luck, it wouldnt do it. I have seen online that their maybe be problems related to mac os lion. any ideas of solutions to resolve this? i click on the install box in the catalyst folder and it comes up with an error notice.. -1712 ... means nothing to me. I spoke to apple and they dont know either... please help.

When is it coming up with error -1712? Does this happen when invoking the installer or when trying to mount the DMG file?

I've got 48 songs that MATCH, but wont update to .m4a

I've got 48 songs that MATCH via iTunes Match, but they won't update to a .m4a file type (after I delete them from my local machine). They also won't download to a .m4a file from another machine that has never had a local copy of the same song.
Ideas?

If the original file in the library was an .mp3 file, and when you delete that file and download the track from the cloud, and that file is still an .mp3 file that means the file was not "matched" it was "uploaded." You are simply downloading the same file. The iCloud Status of these tracks will be "uploaded" and not "matched."
If you're complaint is that the files are "uploaded" and not "matched" then that is completely different issue. If you are expecting 100% of your tracks to "match" you will be disappointed. Anecdotal evidence suggests that approximately 80% of tracks in most iTunes libraries will "match." The rest of the tracks will be "uploaded."

Bought QT Pro But Wont Install

If you suspect a virus you should run a full scan using your anti-virus software.
In the meantime, try resetting the photoshop elements preferences by
holding down the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys at the same time you start the elements editor
and then click yes in the dialog that follows.
