Got Logic Express instead of Pro for the same price

I've bought Logic Express 9 at retail store a few days ago for 180 EUR, but then I found out the Pro version has the same price?! How is that possible?
Feeling a bit jackassed, I could actually buy this piece of software for the same price at the Apple Store if I knew...
EDIT: Oh, by the way I checked some other threads, and some guys tell that such thing as Logic Express doesn't exist anymore, well the price is anyway same (199,99 USD). I've bought this product on 21.08.2012 at an official Apple Store in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Thanks in advance for your response!

I've been at the store a few hours ago, spent an hour there and received actually no solution.
They declined taking the software back and refunding.
"Some people would still prefer buying this version of software rather the pro version, even though they have same pricing", they said. But that's complete non-sence! 've been struggling with the store manager there, but brought me nothing.
Any ideas what I could do next? Don't really want to spend 200 bucks more to get the "alive" version of logic...

  • 4th Gen Extreme vs. New Express for the same price?

Hi all -- looking for some expert advice.  From a friend I can get an as-new 4th Gen (A1354) Airport Extreme base station for the same price as one of the new Airport Expresses.  Any reason I should choose the new Express over the 4th Gen Extreme, aside from its smaller form factor?

Think as it this way, i just got my AirPort Extreme 5th Generation (yesterday free shipping and did it on Sunday noon) getting rid of our Linksys 310N which had 4ports running 100MPBS wireless 144MBPS on my laptop.
we have a xbox 360 (2006), DirectTV HD Demand, and my dads pc, thats 3 ports and thats all we need. my lptp with this new Extreme gave me a wireless speed of 300MBPS
and boosted our intenet 10x..speed roaming around 10-15mbps, now getting 21MBPS with the Extreme.
magining the same with Express. but to remind you, Express has 1 port, Extreme has 3 ports
    plus what bob said above

upgraded my macbook pro to mountain lion from snow leopard does this mean i can upgrade my imac as well for the same price? And will it mess it up?

You can upgrade the iMac for no extra charge - sign into the App Store there, download and install 10.8.
I recommend that you make a backup (Time Machine is probably the easiest method) before you install, and make sure that you are not using any applications that are incomptible with 10.8 (eg Office 2004) - other than that, it should go smoothly.

  • Unlimited High Speed being capped to 5G for the same price, Verizon **bleep**?

Looked into upgrading my USB760 to a USB551L today, and was told I would be forced to change my plan when 4G came to my area.  I have unlimited service for 59.99 and when forced to change will pay the exact same amount for a service with a 5Gig cap.  I love the idea of having mobile broadband and have kept the service mainly because of the unlimited use; however, when I signed up for this service I was told as long as the line was active, they would honor my current plan.  What happened to the "Grandfathered" agreement that I signed up for?  Customer service advised that I could go ahead and upgrade with the same plan, but as soon as 4G hits my area, I would be forced into the capped plan for the same price.  Why in the world would I agree to move from unlimited to a capped plan...so like I said, Verizon **bleep**?

I have a 10g plan for $80,  2 10g  Ntelos plans, (because Verizon is too expensive), and that is still not enough for 3 avid users. Who decides how much bandwidth is for normal usage? If I had the ability to get a hard connection, I would do so, but unfortunately, living out in rural areas, it's not possible.
While in the UK this past summer, I used the wireless provided at the hotels. The wireless speeds were at least 5x's faster than what we have in the states, and I am talking rural Glencoe, Scotland! Nothing but mountains and pastures where I was staying.
It's definitely corporate greed. Keep that pipe tight and only give out bits...
I know for a fact, because my husband was involved in laying fiber optic cables, he knows how much bandwidth that can be piped thru one cable, and what do you think provides bandwidth to those cell towers? Fiber Optics! Is there a cap on a hard connection? Is there a cap on Fios? I know Comcast thought about putting a 250G download cap a few years past, not sure if that happened. Come on! 10G download and upload cap!
Where are the bigger plans? I am willing to pay and I am, but seriously, 10G's I use alone and that's without live streaming and Videos... can't afford to use up the bandwidth.
Hopefully there will be another option coming soon for us who are held hostage by wireless broadband, and a 10G cap.
    Obama! Where isOUR broadband internet!

  • I was wondering how the advertised 10G multiple line plan that is running now is different from my current plan. Basically, why am I paying more now for 4G of data when Verizon is saying I can get 10 for the same price basically.

    NM

Most of the advertisements running now are for Edge. You get discounts for having a smart phone on Edge based on the data package you have. What sucks is that most of the time they advertise a certain price for the monthly service and that is true but what they don't say is you add the Edge payments to that and most of the time it is around the same price as without Edge.
If you think about this though, say you get a phone that is $24.99/month with Edge and you share 10GB which gives you a $25 discount, the phone is basically free and nothing is due at checkout. If you get a 2 year contract with that phone you pay the 2 year price of the phone and pay the same amount monthly.

  • Logic Express 9 Vocal Transformer Not the Same as Manual

I've searched high and low and cannot find anything. I just purchased LE 9 last week and as I was gong through the Effects manual noticed that the "vocal transformer" I have is not the same as the one shown in the manual.
The one I have with LE 9 only has 2 parameters/sliders and is the old hideous brushed aluminum interface.
Contrast this with the one in the LE 9 manual which has pitch, format, pitch base, mix, tracking, and robotize to name a few. (I also searched online and there are a few youtube videos of LE 8 with this same interface, so I know it's not new.)
I have FCS 2(Soundtrack Pro) on my machine, but as a matter of testing, I installed LE 9 on my iMac which does not contain any other audio applications and the same effect unit came up for Vocal Transformer.
Can anyone confirm that LE 9 should have the Vocal Transformer unit that I saw in the manual? It's a little frustrating to say the least.

    Hi,
if I remember well, it was already like that in LE8. The manual shows theLogic Pro version.
So, unless I'm mistaken, it's simply a misprint in the manual...

  • Why buy an 8GB NANO for the same price as a 30GB IPOD???

    Hello people,
Both NANO 8GB and IPOD 30GB are at $249US, so why should someone buy a NANO?! I'm trying to understand the pros and cons of each of the two... Thanks for your help,
    Cheers!
    not relevant...   Windows XP   -

    Hi
I happen to own both. I actually just purchased a 8gb ipod nano. Why? when i already have a 30 gb ipod video. Well Besides the many advantages that the larger ipod has. It lacks in many ways that ive wanted in the ipod nano. The size is muhc smaller yes adn the capacity is too but I got the ipod nano to use specifically to run with and work out on a daily basis. This issomething you cna use the 5 gen ipod for but its got a hard drive instead of flash memory. Which can make it prone to damage from the jarring that occurs when running and the weight is to much.
And on the note of working out I wanted to take advantage of the nike + sport kit which is available only to the ipod nano. And i just love the fact that i cna work out and have more interaction than just using an ipod to listen to music. Yes the 5 gen ipod plays videos but i noticed that this last year i rarely use it to watch videos only if im in a bored situation. So though i have both i use each for seperate reasons. The ipod nano is acompanies me while i workout and any other time the weight and size will be beneficial. The ipod video i will use when I want. IF you cna then get both and youll have the best of both worlds. Or if not then you will need to closely decide what you want and hope to use your ipod for jsut for daily usage and the idea of having your entire music library on you with movies and videos. Or a smaller ipod nano that you can use more effectively for evrything but video content adn have the safety of mind using it while you workout and not damage it. It really comes dowen to what you see yourself using it mostly for adn not just geting 1 or the other for the cool factor. And also remember that ipods do get updated on occasion. Heck before getting the ipod video id owned the last 3 predecessors before it. I just simply upgrade to the new ipod when a new one is released.
    Hope this helps

  • Which mac mini for the same price?

Hello. I am about to purchase a new mac mini. Either the 1.24 ghz w/combo drive or the 1.42 ghz w/combo drive..
here are the specs for the 1.25ghz model i would get:
    1GB DDR333 SDRAM - 1 DIMM
    80GB Ultra ATA drive
    Combo Drive
    Internal Bluetooth
    56K v.92 Modem
    Mac OS X - U.S. English
    1.25GHz PowerPC G4
ATI Radeon 9200 w/32MB DDR video memory
Here are the 1.42ghz specs that I would get:
    1GB DDR333 SDRAM - 1 DIMM
    80GB Ultra ATA drive
    Combo Drive
Internal Bluetooth + AirPort Extreme Card
    No modem
    Mac OS X - U.S. English
    1.42GHz PowerPC G4
ATI Radeon 9200 w/32MB DDR video memory
Both models with the specs above will cost the same at the apple store at 774.00
I have heard the 1.25ghz model's hard drive is a bit faster at 5400rpm. Is this a good reason to go with the 1.25ghz model? The only other difference in specifications between these two models is that the 1.42ghz model also includes the airport extreme card(I dont plan on getting the base station, but it could always be a possibilty in the future).
The way I want these models configured costs exactly the same...the only differences being are the cpu speed, hard drive speed, and the airport extreme card.
I have owned a G4 dual 1ghz powermac, and a g3 800mhz ibook. Needless to say, I love apple and the OSX opperating system!
I am also considering the emac, but I am on a budget here. I will only be using this for the basic stuff(no cpu-intensive programs running here).
I also dont want the superdrive becasue if I ever need one, I will buy an external firewire burner.
Any and all advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer in my decision!
    -jason

Whether Apple are, or are not, about to release bumped minis is not something anyone who has genuine knowledge is permitted to discuss or confirm. That there are rumors is true, but there have been rumors of all sorts of Apple products before - so proved true, but an amazing number proved otherwise.
Given the intended use the original poster described, it seems highly likely to me that ANY mini would be more than adequate. The more RAM the better, the faster the better, but where budget is tight and where there are no extraordinary user expecations or demands, a 1.25 mini with 512Mb RAM is a very capable system.
If Airport and or Bluetooth is required, the cost of adding them to the 1.25 model is sufficiently high that the 1.412 would make more sense. If a modem is needed and yet Airport or BT is desired, the 1.42 with built to order modem would be best. If using a RAM-hungry application such as Photoshop, the 1.25 qwith 1GHz RAM will run more smoothly and faster than a 1.42 with 512Mb RAM. Where processor hungry applications are involved (video editing for example) a 1.42 with 512Mb would generally perform a tad faster than a 1.25 with 1Gb - except when it comes to rendering effects and transitions etc.
If budget allows, the 1.42 model with 1Gb RAM and a modem added would be pretty much ideal for power vs cost. And if still considering after a week, who knows, there may be bumped up models - though the same general principles by which to weigh the options would still apply.

  • I'm looking at an imac 20" core 2 duo, 2.6GHZ 4gb ram, 500gb hdd for around £400, is this still in date or are pc's for the same price more advanced?

It's 5 years old, aluminium body with black back.
I'd also like to know if the screen is similar/as good as the current imac.
I know the newer iMacs are better, that is obvious but I'm on a budget.
    Thanks

Windows is far from Rubbish. I own and use a Mac everyday but I also own multiple Windows computers, 2 of them being Win 7 which in my opinion is one of the best OSs every produced, and I haven't run any Anti Virus programs on any of them in well over 7 years and I have never been infected with anything. It's not the OS you run. It is the way you use the computer. If you open and click on links in emails from people or places you don't know what do you expect. If you go to dodgy websites or download all kinds of KWrap from torrent sites and the like what do you expect.
Computer security and Safe computing it betweenn your 2 ears. No program is going to replace that.
Shortly Mac will be in the same boat or Apple will restrict the Mac even more then they do now just like they do the pad and phone to only install programs Apple Approves of, IE in the Mac App Store.
One reason for then getting rid of the CD/DVD drives. So everythiung hasd to be downloaded from the NET and shortly only from the Apple Mac App Store.

I havn't used Windows 8 yet, I did windows XP which back in my day was something amazing. Windows 7, was just XP with a new look... and 8 looks like it's copied OS X with the Launch Pad.
Windows is pretty rubbish, so easy to mess it up too.

  • Will accepting "extra data for the same price" offer remove "monthly discount" offer?

Yesterday I received an offer saying that I could change my plan and go from the MORE Everything 4GB to 6GB without any cost or contract extension. This seems like a good deal, who doesn't want more data without paying for it? My concern is that the recent monthly discounts Verizon added in December 2014 ($10 for basic phone line and $15 for a smartphone line) will be removed from my plan.
While extra data would be nice, I do not want to essentially pay $25 a month for 2GB bump. Can I keep the monthly discounts totaling $25 and still take advantage of the 4GB to 6GB bump? Have my cake and eat it too?

I suggest you be very careful of what Verizon describes on the phone, it may be worth a trip to the store and get everything in writing.  In my case the More Everything description given to me was vastly different from what I got.

  • Since the price for mac book pro is much expensive than others for the same configuration, give me some reasons that why choose mac book pro?

I like Apple for both iPhone and iPad and I consider to buy a Mac book Pro recently. However, I haven't used mac book before. I have a alienware which is pretty good and I am much comfortable with it. I compared 2 laptops and I found for the same price, the configuration of alienware is much better than Mac book Pro.So why I need to buy the Mac book pro for a higher price? Don't tell me because it is Apple, tell me some details! For those of you who are familiar with mac book pro and loved apple deeply, please convince me!

I guess that really depends on what you would use it for, and how you use a computer.  Alienware is geared for gaming and intense graphics displays, but a MBP is designed for general to hardcore users, and in my opinion, for multimedia purposes.  One positive thing about Apple is that it works well with Apple hardware and software, and that it is user-friendly.  Sony is like this too, that it works well with with Sony products, but my experience with Sony is not as user-friendly.
For me, if I were into Windows based gaming I would go with Alienware.  If I wanted and used Windows based software and wanted a quality and long-lasting laptop, I would get a Sony.  (There was a study on laptops in 2010, founded that Sony laptops outlasted the other brands (HP and Acer were at the bottom).)
Apple is more well-rounded and functions smoother compare to PCs.  So, no pun intended, it's all apples and oranges.
If you are deciding which OS, you should based your decision on your needs, wants and functionality, and maybe long-term budget.
So for example, I'm not a computer gaming (that's what console gaming is for me).  I like to compose music with my guitar and keyboard, like editing home videos, I'm an newsletter editor for my non-profit and HOA, I do statistics, I surf the web and stream media, and I do photography as a hobby.  So for initial cost, ease of operations, quality, longevity, and total long-term cost, the MBP was my choice.  I had considered Dell, Sony and Alienware.  To me, Sony and Alienware was like buying a Cadillac, and Dell like a Buick.  So I decided on a Lincoln.  Apple best fit my lifestyle and long-term budgeting for computers.
FYI...Why I suggest long-term budgeting?  Is because over the last decade, I've been through three desktops and four laptops.  The Sony laptop outlasted them all with seven years, with only one hardware problem (two if you count the end).  The worst ones are tied between HP and Compaq.  Over the years my friends with Macs averaged seven to eight years of usage, so I estimated, I could have spent about the same or less by about $2,000 by buying two Macs: depending on configuration and models.
So there's my personal experience and opinion, of course.  I currently have a Linux (for testing), Windows (wife uses it for gaming), and MBP at home.

  • Hello Experts., I would like to use only Lightroom but current set up by Adobe will force me to get Photoshop along with Lightroom. Is there any way where I can get only Lightroom and pay for the same.

In the present set up by Adobe if one need Lightroom alone, they have to get and pay for Photoshop also Which I am not interested. Is there any way I can get only Lightroom.? Please help.

Just for clarity, the strict answer to your question is "no": you can't get just Lightroom for the same price as the Lr/Photoshop Creative Cloud (CC) bundle.
You can buy a stand-alone licence for Lightroom alone - that's what Don and Elie have helped you to find - but the pricing (and licencing) arrangements are entirely different to those which make up the CC bundle.
Note too, it's likely that Lightroom 6 will be coming before long (although how long is not known): you will almost certainly have to pay for the upgrade to Lr 6 if you're on a stand-alone licence, whereas moving from 5 to 6 (and to 7 and to...) is included in the price of the bundle.
