Got My iPod Fixed (In UK)
For anyone who has suffered from a strange ipod symptom whereby everything seems to be working fine but when you press 'play' nothing at all happens, here's my experience:
Obviously my iPod was only a month out of warrantry when this symptom occurred and after trying every fix under the sun I took the little blighter to pieces to see if I could spot any obvious problem. What I discovered was that moisture appeared to have entered the iPod via the click wheel and had corroded one of the circuits in the logic board. Not good!
After being told at the Apple genius bar that 'It's not worth repairing. Ipods are cheap – just go and buy another…' I Googled a company in the UK that offered repairs. Within two days they had replaced the logic board and returned my ipod to me. It now works fine. The repair cost £70.

Sods. I went into the Brum store on my day off yesterday, asked if they had any stock yet - the gimp that served me said "uh maybe towards the end of the month, you can leave your name and I'll give you a call when we get stock".
Suffice to say I left my name and number - have they called me? The flip they have.
I'll be sure to go pick one up on Friday (my next day off, working retail *****), if they still have stock. If they don't I'll kick up a right fuss, I'm on that list!

Several years ago I got an ipod touch as a gift and set it up with my then current apple ID from previous apple products. Since then I got an iphone4s. When that got set up it got set up with a new ID because at the time, I couldn't access my old one because I had forgotten the passwords and the passwords to acces the email account to which the info would have been sent (a problem since solved.) I have a lot of music on my ipod that I would like to transfer to my iphone, but I cannot seem to sync it to my computer because it that music was downloaded from a differnt ID. Can I fix this? That sounds like you've engaged one of the automatic syncing options for your nano.
Plug the nano in, and go into the Device screen for the nano in itunes. Is "manually manage ..." unchecked? If so, check the box for it, and click okay. Disconnect and reconnect the nano. Is the content on the nano able to be selected in your iTunes now? -
I got my screen fixed and the day i got my ipod touch 4th gen back the wifi doesnt work unless i hold it right up to my router. Roughly every foot I move back it loses a bar and if i leave the room it doesn't even have a signal completely. Could the screen replacement have tampered with the wifi capability? Also if it helps I switched internet providers and during the time when my ipod was being fixed a new router was installed and it doesnt seem to work unless directly infront of my ipod.
Take it back to where you had the screen replaced. They messed up the connection to the wifi antenna

If they opened it and fixed it you will not be able to do an out-of-warranty replacement at an Apple Store, but you could make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and ask them. Or get the person who dropped it to buy you a new one.

So i just got my ipod august 2012. about 1 month ago, my home button stopped working and my ipod is getting slower and slower. Would apple be able to fix it for free?
Ipods automatically have a one year warrany unless you have violated the terms. But you can pay to extend the warranty. It depends, they may fix it for free or they may charge a bit. Im not entirely sure. But id say theres a good chance that they may fix it for free. With battery replacements, ive heard that they give you an entirely new ipod with a charge of $80. So i think it depends

Copy everything from your backup copy of your computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases -

I broke my iPod 5 screen last week, the whole screen is cracked.The front camera is kinda broken.The back of the iPod is pefectly fine and the home button is fine too. HELP MEEEEE!!!!!!!!! itunes won't work anymore after my mom got an ipod!
Hello, I have an ipod mini, and ive had it for about 6 months now,Ive been using itunes for awhile now and it has always worked fine. My mom just got an ipod and i set it up for her. Earlier today, i went into itunes and hooked up her ipod...an error message came up saying that i did not have the software that was needed for itunes to communicate with the ipod. Then i plugged mine in and the same message came up, telling me to re-download itunes! I tried, but the problem is that my dad has the administrater account and he is gone and wont give us the password. When i tried to set up itunes it said that i didnt have access to the things needed to download and i had to be on the administrater account. I even tried deleteing itunes then redownloading it like the website said, but my dad is still logged onto the computor and the computor cannot delete itunes w/o all users
being logged off. Is there any way to fix this problem WITHOUT the use of the admin. account?????? PLEASE HELP!!!!It has to be an admin account, just like the message says.

I just got the ipod nano about 3 weeks ago. It worked great up untill today. It would not turn on, or connect into my computer. I took it back to best buy and they said it had a defulted battery, and that I needed to call the company. So I did and they had me send it in. Will they send me a new ipod, or a refurbished one. I havn't even had the ipod long enough, and I paid good money for it. I'm hoping to get a new one, because it wasn't my fault.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Just got my iPod touch last night & now it won't register anything
I got my iPod touch as an early christmas gift & started checking it out last night. I tried to sync my music to it last night & it said I had to update all of my iTunes software & my MobileSupport software, so I did. I got the bonjor.msi not found error while trying to update, but then everything worked. This morning, I got a message to update to iOS5, so I did. After the update, it extracted old versions from my iPod touch & now it's not being found in iTunes & it won't show me anything on the touch screen other than sync to iTunes (the iTunes logo & the cord w/the arrow in between). How can I fix this & actually use my iPod touch?
Thanks!Can you get the slide to power off screen? Does the iPod Touch Work otherwise? Try letting the battery drain and make sure it is dry or else the water could be damaging the components as long as it's on.
