Because of a minor issue, i got a new iphone
I had a backup of my old iPhone
now i wanted to restore it
Since my old iPhone was on 2.0.2
I first had to update it
Now i made Restore, and then Restore from Backup
It says it can't cause the Backup is not compatible
How do I get all my sms, notes, todos, savegames back!

Changing devices is no reason to create a new Apple ID.
All content purchased from iTunes is permanently linked to the Apple ID it was purchased with.
To update apps purchased with the old ID, you MUST sign in with that Apple ID. -

Apple only allows updating to the current version of iOS for the device. For the iPhone4 and later that is currently iOS7.0.4.

If I am getting it right you try to log in to your account and it asks for billing information, and when you enter your card details it tells you that the card cannot be used. I had my damaged unlocked iPhone 4 replaced by apple with a refirb model and am pretty sure they've issued me with a locked phone.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Is Apple aware that they are refirbing but not unlocking phones?

TyIt is entirely possible that the human you spoke with at Apple simply made a mistake. You do realize that humans make mistakes, correct?
Take the device back to the store along with any documents you have stating it is or is supposed to be unlocked and let them clear it up.
This all assumes the device was unlocked by the carrier and not some shady website or local electronics store. -

If someone else has had the same issue then I can go back to Apple and have them look into it further. If not then as I said Vodafone is selling second hand phones and they will have to replace the phone.
Vodafone account manager is saying that he has never heard of anything like it.
So I'm left with one of 3 answers.
1: The phone was shipped like that so its a factory error.
2: The Apple genius doesn’t know what he's talking about then I can go back to the store and ask for a second opinion.
3: Vodafone is selling second hand phones as new.
