Got replacement iPhone - apps won't transfer

My old iPhone broke so I sent it away to be fixed. They send me a new one with a new IMEI and Serial Number. I transfered all the apps but some apps that I paid for won't work sending me to App Store to buy the full version. I autorized the computer but still unable to transfer the app and I don't have the old phone to 'transfer purchases' from the old one to iTunes and then to my new iPhone. Also, when I go into App stores and updates it is divided into two - all and not on this phone.
Please help.

I guess if you re-buy the ones you paid for iTunes will recognize that you already paid for them and let you download them for free.

IPhone apps won't update, iTunes Store won't open

I can't figure out why my apps won't update on my iPhone. I have rebooted, deleted the apps that wouldn't update and froze (waiting) and rebooted after that. I may not have the greatest wifi connection ... I am out of town and dependent on hotel/convention center wifi. Went to App Store to reload the deleted apps (some), but same thing. I saw a response regarding iTunes, went there...took forever for iTunes to open, it kept stating I couldn't access iTunes Store, and after hitting "okay" probably 4 times to confirm that iTunes wouldn't open...it did. So I thought that was the problem and returned back to App Store and tried to reload just one app. Well it's been an hour and a half or more, can't reload it. It creeps along and I thought the app was loaded, but no. I can reboot only, not reset because I am no in home like I said. This is more than "fairly frustrating". What the heck can I do?

Do a hard reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and home button together until apple logo appears.

XCode iPhone Apps Won't Compile (or do much of anything really)

Ok so I've got the iPhone SDK installed and I'm just running through the iPhone Dev Center's little starter page, figured I'd start things off by running the MoveMe application. But no dice... I try to compile and XCode just sits there, usually with the progress stuck somewhere between 0% and 25%. No error messages, no status messages, nothin.
Well fine, so I try the Hello World sample project. Same story.
I try to compile a trusty old non-iPhone app. No problems here.
So I uninstall XCode and reinstall w/ the iPhone SDK. Same story, same situation.
I try moving files, making fresh projects, adding garbage code to the main function, but still absolutely nothing changes. I can compile just fine (and it will appropriately complain when I have garbage code in) but if I try to BUILD it just sits there.
An image of my frustration here... this is exactly what I see when I try to compile. And nothing MOVES.
Anyone have any insight into this? I'm still pretty green at XCode, so I'm not even sure where to start looking.

I also have the same issues. I've tried running the sample projects from the iphone developer site with no luck (tried with an ipod touch, with the simulator and no luck in either case :/)
What I have noticed is that it initially hangs on copying one of the assets (a png file in hello world). If I stop it and then try to build after, it hangs on trying to compile the xib file.

Iphone apps won't open!

My iphone apps are not working after a recent update. The apps show up on phone but when I try to open the app the screen goes black and returns to the main screen. help!!

There's something going on with the latest version of iTunee.
This affects people with old and new version of firmware for iPhone 3G.
What happens... All your apps stop working because they are no longer authorized for use, after a syncing with iTunes.
The fix... Before doing a sync with iPhone, deselect all the applications. Sync (in effect, you're removing all applications from your iPhone). In iTunes, click Store / Authorize Computer, and enter your password. Don't worry, you won't use up any of your 5 alloted activations. Go back to applications and reselect all your applications. Sync. You're done and EVERYTHING WORKS !
I figured this out when i tried the delete / restore technique mentioned before. iTunes gave me a message saying my computer was not authorized to restore the applications. Huh? So in fact it's iTunes causing the headaches.

IPhone 4 won't transfer wma audiobook after ios 5 upgrade

I have always "checked out" audiobooks from my library website. I like the .wma audiobooks best because they actually transfer into my "audiobooks" where mp3 books go into my music. I use Overdrive Media Console to transfer from the library website to my phone. Since I've upgraded to ios5 itunes won't transfer. It keeps giving me an error message "iTunes can't sinc because the file cannot be located." Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it??

IPhone Apps won't sync to iTunes.

I need all my apps to sync to my iTunes for a complete backup. All the new apps I've purchased on my phone in the last few months do not show up on the apps tab in iTunes. I've hit the Sync button as well as Transfer Purchases. Each time the apps are said to be "copying" in iTunes but never actually transfer or appear in the apps tab. They're in the preview on the right, just not in the list on the left.

I had the same trouble with the iPhone 3GS and had to re-download all my purchased apps when I upgraded to iPhone 4 because the backup I used to startup the 4 seemed to be incomplete.
It's as if iTunes won't update the backup file. It's stuck on a backup from a year or so ago.
Any ideas?

I'm also having this issue. There is no media folder with any apps files in my iTunes folder on my PC and so i can see all the apps in my library but they are all gray and have a "!" next to the app name because iTunes (nor myself) can't locate them.

Apps won't Transfer to phone after 4.1 update

I recently updated my iPhone 3G to OS4.1 I had a few issues when doing the update but I did finally get it to load. I lost all of my pics, contacts, text messages, emails etc. Now I'm trying to get my apps from iTunes loaded back into the phone but I can't. They show up in the left panel and I can click on them and check the boxes but they do not appear on the right side pics. When I try to drag the apps to the right side pics they wont appear there either. When I Sync the phone it syncs everything but the applications. I tryed reinstalling iTunes, and I restored the phone twice. Same issue afterwards. I downloaded a couple apps from iTunes and hit the transfer purcheses button and that does nothing. The apps dont change in the list on the left in iTunes and they don't show up on the pic of the wallpaper in iTunes. Please help

Slight bumpage, due to the release of 4.2, and no, it still won't connect to my PC but will still talk to my other half's laptop.
This is particularly annoying as all my music has "disappeared" and nneds a re-sync, but all the music is stored on my desktop! Grr!
I've also tried un/reinstalling iTunes, but that din't work either, and tried updating the USB drivers for my PC, but again, no joy!

Got replacement iPhone but can't sync old backup

I had my iPhone replaced today by a Genius at the Apple Store (one of the volume buttons was malfunctioning.) He reactivated the phone at the store for me.
However, when I got home and plugged it into iTunes, it didn't give me the option of restoring my data from my old iPhone. It happily synced my music, etc., but not my notes, settings, home screen buttons, etc. I tried "restoring" the phone but the only backup it offered was the one I had just created by syncing my new phone.
Any thoughts?

With your iPhone connected, at the iTunes menu bar go to iTunes > Preferences > Syncing.

I downloaded "Quest Magazine App" to iTunes on my Mac but it will NOT transfer to my iPad. What do I do? It won't drag or install. I tried syn. I tried selecting and then hitting apply. That just froze iTunes. Please help.

I recently bought my son an Ipad so he would stop using mine. On mine, I bought a ton of apps for him. I chose the "Transfer Apps" option on my old iPad, new iPad and even my Mac Mini (desktop) just to make sure. None of the paid apps will transfer, but the free versions will. I am at a loss. I feel like I have tried everything. HELP!

Got replaced iPhone without email working

Hi, I just lost or had my iphone 5 stolen and just had it replaced by Assurian-Att with an iphone5s. Unfortunately, email won't let me sign in as it says the connetion to the server failed. Otherwise, I am connected and much has been restored.
Is it the phone? Should I go to an appple store? Why do you think it's not working?

Silly me! I changed all of my passwords since losing the phone! It works now So, at this point my old phone is in unwanted and unkind hands...time to wipe out? Police just won't help to reover. It's funny how hard it is to let go!

Got new iPhone 5 won't work with my computer because I don't have snow leopard. Which cannot be purchased anywhere in town! Is this seriously the only solution so that my phone will sync with my computer?

When I plug in my new iPhone 5 to sync with my computer it tells me I need iTunes 7. I tried to download it, but it will not load on my computer because I need a software upgrade to 10.6.8, which from what I understand is a paid upgrade to snow leopard. I cannot find it anywhere! All of our stores that sell Apple products do not carry it anymore. My computer is a MacBook I bought in late August 2008, the ONLY thing wrong with it after all these years is this particular problem. I thought Apple products were superior because of their long life in comparison to other computers, why would Apple shorten the lifespan of its product by no longer supporting it with software??

10.6 Snow Leopard will run on any Intel mac. So that's any Mac made in the last 6 years. Snow Leopard came out in July 2009 and only cost $29. So you had over 3 years to have upgraded your MacBook.
You're willing to pay a couple of hundred dollars for a new phone but not the $29 in the last three years to have upgraded your OS on your MacBook.
The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion is part of the 10.6.6 update.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.

My iphone 3Gs won't transfer new appointments to a shared ical and will only receive 3 out of 4 calendars when connected via itunes to our imac. Help!?

Usually I just connect my phone, itunes opens automatically and the phone syncs. It downloads any new appointments from my husbands updates into my phone from the computer and updates the ical on the computer with my new appointments. This system has allowed us for a whole year to keep a joint family calender. One phone still works but not the other. Any suggestions would be greatly apprciated!

I should add that I get the message "iTunes could not sync calenders to the iPhone because the iPhone disconneced". My iPhone is still connected and my husband uses the same cable successfully to sync his phone with our computer. My apps, contacts, music etc. all sync without any problems. Could those apps be downloaded under a different Apple ID? If so you will need to sign in to iTunes with that Apple ID and authorize the computer, then transfer purchases.

Just got replacement nano; music won't finish song and wake/alarm button must be pushed to start again; aleady changed earphones twice

I just received my replacement for the 1st gen today; 8 gb Nano. I got it all set up and the only problem I've got is that it shuts off before a song finishes. I've already tried changing earphones twice (iPod and Bose). Is there a power setting somewhere? Not enough info in on-line user manual. How do I tell what generation the iPod is? Thanks.

Are you sure you are plugging the headphone jack all the way in? The 6th Generation Nano (the one with the different watch faces) has a very stiff jack when it is new, make sure the white on the headphone jack (the iPod ones) is flush with the Nano.
