Got rid of my old computer and want to put my iTune Music Library on a computer that already has a library.  How do I do that?

I want to be able to use 1 computer for 2 music libraries.  Want to be able to purchase new music, have it go to the correct library and then synch the library with my nano.  I have the 2nd library on an external drive ready to be migrated to computer.  How do I do this?  KMac

so basically you have 2 library and you want to use them seperately ?
If Yes, Try using seperate user accounts for each library.

I have a new computer, with some new music on it in my Itunes Library.  How do I put that new music from here onto my existing ipod (which has a ~1500 song library from an old computer which is no longer accesible, and which music I do not want to erase)?

I'm not trying to put the music from my old ipod onto my new computer!!!! I don't really want to do that!
I would like simply to see if there is a way to put the new music from my new computer onto my old ipod without erasing all my existing music that I have on there.

  • I just bought a new computer and want to transfer my itunes music from my old pc to my new pc. How should i do it?

I want to transfer my entire music library from one computer to another without using a usb drive or cds. How can i transfer the music without using either a cd or a usb?

You need to use a 3rd party utility such as Touchcopy - this will allow you to rebuild your library on the computer from the iPhone.

What do you mean by administer?
When you set up the account you have to enter a birthday and it has to results in being 13 years old or older.
You can set a Restriction that hides the iTunes and App store and another one to prevent in-app purchases. See:

I have a new computer and want to move my Itunes libriarys to this new PC.  How do I do this?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • Ai changed my email for my apple id, but i can't change my iCloud ccount because i can't remember my old password, and now i need to use iCloud for my new IPhone but it isn't working, how do i fix that?

i changed my email for my apple id, but i can't change my iCloud  account because i can't remember my old password, and now i need to use iCloud for my new IPhone but it isn't working, how do i fix that?

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I had to format my main computer and lost all of my itunes music

Recently, I had to re-format my main computer, I lost all of my iTunes music, most of it is on my iPad.  How do I transfer this music from my iPad to my current iTunes.  I really don't want to have to copy a couple of 1000 CDs again.

Once you have the tracks recovered, you might also consider iTunes March. There is a cost involved ($24.99/yr), and it isn't without it's ... shall we quirks? ... but it is a very convenient way to manage music tracks on iOS devices.

My 3rd gen iPod Touch will play through the system (playlist and all); however, I want to put all my music and playlists on the vehicle's hard drive so I don't need my iPod with me.  I cannot get it to read the music files.

  • I just got a new laptop and I got rid of my old one and iTunes won't transfer my apps on my iPod 4g how i get my apps to show on my laptop?

I just got a new laptop and my new one says i cant have my ipod synced to another account and it wants to erase all my apps

That is right. An iDevice can only sync to one computer/iTunes library. If you still have the computer just cpy/export yur iTunes libray to a USB stick or similar and import it ito the new computer.  Also copy the iPod backup file to the new computer.  That file is locaed here:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Transfer iTunes purhases to the new computer by:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
Then let iTunes erase you iPod and restore the iPod from the backup and then sync.

  • I have an old iPod and want to synch some new music to it but the synch is set for all music.  How do I change this?

Classic iPod with firewire.  Just downloaded a new album that I want to put on it, but iTunes 11 want allow me to sych just some music.  How do I switch this so I can upload just the one album?

In iTunes help under synching devices.
    Sync your device manually
If you use manual syncing, you can sync items from more than one iTunes library to your iPod. (You can sync iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad with only one iTunes library.)
You can manually sync music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and iTunes U lessons. You can’t manually sync photos and info (contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and so on).
Connect your iPod, iPhone, or iPad to your computer and select your device.
Click the Summary button and select “Manually manage music and videos” (below Options).
Click the On This Device button.
Click Add To on the right side of the iTunes window.
Drag items from the left side of the iTunes window to the pane on the right. To add other types of content, choose a category from the Library pop-up menu.
    Click Done.
