Got someone else's mail in iCloud

Last week, amid yet another of the iCloud slowdowns/outages, I had a weird situation pop up that I thought you guys would get a kick out of
I was signed into iCloud. I couldn't get mail, as the servers were down, but I could see my message list. I was working on something else when I noticed the screen flash and my message list updated. I went to the list and it turned out the messages were not mine. They looked to belong to a dummy account, as the vast majority of the messages were Apple message, ie., Welcome to iLife, Welcome to MobileMe, etc.
There was one message, though, that had a tax document attached. I didn't open it, nor did I open any of the messages, but I did videotape it. When I hit the cloud and went back to the switch screen, I saw I was signed in still. I clicked on mail again and it was that same person's messages.
After about a half hour or so, the screen flashed again and my messages came back.
I did record the video with my iPhone, but when I called AppleCare, they didn't act as if they believed it.

I just found out that someone else is receiving my icloud emails. I tried to make a dinner reservation and gave my icloud email address, nothing turned up so I called them and they said that someone with the same name as me called 5 minutes before to say they had received the confirmation email. If you are concerned about the security of your iCloud email account, and based on what you state it sounds like you should be, you should change the password for that Apple ID and iCloud account (they are the same) using the steps provided here -

I am getting someone else's email at my icloud.com account . This person has same email as me. Emails are all UK based

It is most likely that they have either mistyped their address or have somehow got the notion that your address is actually their address (inexperienced people do sometimes do this sort of thing).
Since you can't contact them (as you would just get the message back) I can only suggest responding to a suitable message to them and asking the sender if they can contact this person by another method and explain their error. As you have their credit card number possibly you could identify the card issuer (you could ask your bank - the first four digits would identify it) and contact them.
I don't think, given your description, that this is likely to be a phishing attempt.

Got someone else's details on my iPad, need help quick

Ok, I really need help, I work on my new iPad 3 a lot, and my contacts mean a lot to me, but today I opened up my contacts and found names and numbers that i had never seen before in my life, then I opened up the photo stream and realised some girls Random Pictures had turned up...I don't want anything to do with this other persons information. And I don't want them having the ability to access mine, as it is important and private... Why is this happening, why is someone else information merging onto my device, I need immediate help as I'm loosing valuable time. Many thanks.

Go to settings>icloud, and make sure its your account there and not someone elses, and if possible go to icloud.com on a COMPUTER not the device and log in with your apple id, if you feel your account has been jeopardized please call in the apple support line and ask to speak with a iOS Senior advisor

Someone else has changed my iCloud password. How has this happened?

it would seem that my apple id was used to sign in on the "find my phone" app on someone else's iPad mini. My iCloud password was changed which meant I had to reset it and, of course, leads me to wonder what is there to stop this happening again?
Has this happened to many others?

Got someone else's tracking number...wth?

So I'm in the same boat as all of you. Preordered a 6+ last Friday, with an expected ship date of 10/14. Ok fine. I checked my order status on Monday (with MY confirmation number and MY last name) and got a tracking number. At that point, I was shocked. Tracked the package this morning and it's headed to New York. WTH? I'm in Washington state. How do I put in my order information and get someone else's tracking number??? Beyond frustrated!!!

I just had the same thing happen to me today. Ordered the 6 plus 64GB on 9/12 space grey with a delivery date of 10/7. Then I got a tracking number about 1.5 hrs ago. It was going to NC and I'm in Atlanta. Now the tracking number is missing. Customer service when I ordered the phone said 9/19. Then when I got the confirmation it changed to 10/7. This is annoying. I have no idea what's going on anymore. Just hope it comes to me soon.

I've got someone else's photos on my photostream

My photostream has disappeared and I now have someone else's photos in my photostream. How do I get rid of them and get my photos back.
I Haven't updated my software or lost any of my apple devices so I don't know why this is happening.

No I don't share my Apple ID or iTunes account, the photos aren't local either. I've now changed my apple password so I think that'll stop it but now all my photos are gone, I assume on someone else's photostream?

I registered for my iTools account as soon as they were offered and have had the same email address ever since.
My account has not been hacked and I regularly change my password for the account.
I frequently get emails from Apple notifying me that someone has attempted a password reset on my account.
I have over the past two years received a steady stream of emails correctly addressed to me, but obviously meant for other folks.
Some in the US and others in Europe and beyond.
The emails contain payslips, mortgage offers, confirmation of appointments for restaurants and car servicing.
Having read these and many other forums, I believe Apple, like Google allow the use of the same email address by multiple people.
This may be because even if the desired mac.com or iCloud.com or me.com addresses are unavailable, Apple allows an alias to be created.
This should not be the case. At least to my mind it should not be so.
I am most concerned that if I am able to receive their emails, they may be receiving mine.
I pay for Apple's services and expect them to be secure.
Anyone else feeling uneasy about this?

It's most unlikely that anyone else has your address: if your address (obviously don't post it here) uses a fairly common name as many of the early ones do, then you are liable to get idiots coming to the conclusion that they own it because their name is the same. They give it out, and you get their messages. It sounds insane, but it does happen quite a bit - people can be quite incredibly stupid.
It's unlikely that anyone is receiving your email, particularly as you've changed the password. You should contact Apple as even if it's the case I've described it counts as a security issue, though it's not that easy to see what can be done about it.

Someone has used my 'me' account to request registrations with companies in the uk. I tried to change my apple ID password, but me birthdate was not accepted . What do I do? This has been occurring through iCloud, so I've turned off my mail and contacts in iCloud.

I got someone else's "Welcome to Skype" email.

I just received an email, apparently from Skype, welcoming "markbhona11" to the Skype family. I have no idea who that is or why he used my email when signing up. Could have been a typo on his part. I am concerned that I am going to start getting billed by Skype or some other scam. Please advise.

It is possible that someone created an account and registered your email address accidentally or intentionally. You can contact customer support and request to unlink that unknown account to your email address.

How do I get into my iCloud mail on someone else's PC

I have to access a boarding pass soming to my email tomorrow and I will be away from my laptop at someone else's office all day - need to print it at their office, filled with PCs, and don't know how to get iCloud.com mail on the web. Can someone please help me?

Icloud mail inbox has mail for someone else ?

I don't know if anyone has encountered this problem, if you have then you can maybe advise.
I signed into icloud on the mac, checked the email section. in the email inbox there were three emails
none of them were addressed to me. Two of them had my address listed as "[email protected]" ( replace the ... with numbers)
the otherone was listed for someone else completely.
Is this a spam issue, is this a tech problem.
Answers will be greatfully received.

It's spam, sent by the 'hidden mailing list' method. Basically, if you want to send to a list of people but you don't want them all to see the other people in the list, you put the list in the Bcc (blind carbon copy) field and one address in the To field. This means that everyone who receives it only sees it as being to the address in the 'To' field.
(I love 'carbon copy' - I don't suppose anyone has used carbon paper for thirty years.)
Assuming the contents are spam, just bin and ignore, and don't worry about it.

I'm either being scammed or someone else has been issued my iCloud email address.
Just started getting lots of "Facebook" titled emails sent to my iCloud address. They are in the name of a different user, though, not me.
How can I contact Apple if this is a duplicate email issued by them in error? How can I tell if it's bogus?

I bought a ipad2 from a guy who bought it from someone else and the original owner never signed out of his icloud account and not it is locked is there a way i can reset it to my account?

Return it and get your money back. Unless you can contact the original owner and get them to remove it from their account you will not be able to activate it and use it. There is no way around this.
