When I try to start BootCamp for Windows 7, I cannot change FAT to NTFS. I have created CDS for BootCamp upgrades 3.1 3.2 and 3.3.
Can't use them with Windows 7 disc in player. What to do?Boot Camp creates a partition for you to install Windows into. Typically if you chose a size less than 32GB it will initially be FAT32, if bigger it will be NTFS. However what it is, is rather irrelevant. When you install Windows 7 it only allows using NTFS for a boot drive and it will automatically reformat that partition to NTFS if needed.

If you can't run the latest version because your system doesn't meet the requirements, it's highly recommended that you use another browser that is secure. TenFourFox is a third-party build of Firefox that is kept up-to-date and runs on Mac OS X 10.4 and PowerPC Macs (as a side note, I've never seen the site go down; whatever problems James noticed 9 months ago must've been a fluke).

You can upgrade to Mavericks free, just run the App Store program and search for Mavericks. But before you do upgrade I recommend the following:
1) make sure you have a recent backup. TimeMachine is fine.
2) Mavericks is somewhat more memory hungry than 10.7 was. You will need 4 GB of RAM and I strongly recommend 8 GB.
Go back to the Apple menu and select About this Mac - look under the OS info you just looked at. You'll see how much RAM your computer has now. Then click on the More Info button. There you will see your computer info listed as in: iMac, 21.5" mid 2010, for example. Return back with that information and we can tell you how far the computer can be upgraded.
If you decide to procede and you have enough RAM upgrading to Mavericks is quite simple. Click on the download button and let it do its job. -

I couldn't tell you what you purchased, and it might even be difficult for an Adobe employee to do so. The business could have a few options as far as what they might have purchased.
Your best bet, considering what little you paid, will be to hand it over to someone you might sell it to and let them try it out. If it works, then it works. -

Cannot install Boot Camp 3.2 upgrade for Windows 7 64 bit
I recently installed Windows 7 64 bit on my macbook. I also installed Boot Camp 3.0.1 after Windows 7 installation, however, WiFi did not work. Therefore, I needed to upgrade to the latest Boot Camp 3.2. However, when I tried to install Boot Camp 3.2 upgrade for Windows 7 74 bit, I got an error message saying that I needed Boot Camp 3.1 installed first. I CANNOT find Boot Camp 3.1 upgrade for Windows 7 64 bit on Apple website at all. Can someone please help me on this? Is there a way to get the complete Boot Camp 3.2 package that can simply be installed on version 3.0.1??

Has anyone tried running Dragon NaturallySpeaking (for Windows) on Mac Mavericks? I have finally given up on Dragon Dictate for Mac, which alas, after years of buying every new updated version, is still exceedingly buggy and does not begin to compare in quality to the PC version. I love my Mac, and don't like my PC at all, but the third-party voice dictation software for Mac is so pathetic, that I have wound up dictating on my PC, and then sending it to my Mac: an truly annoying and Baroque process. I was able to train over 120 words in Sanskrit word perfect on Dragon NaturallySpeaking, but on Dragon Dictate for Mac, I can't even get it to train my name. I know this is not an Apple problem, but I'm trying to find a way around by possibly running the DNS version on Windows on my iMac.
I have a hand disability, so I really do need to use voice dictation, both for dictating and navigating on my computer.
If anyone is doing this, are you using Boot Camp, VM fusion, or Parallels? How well does it work? Has anyone discovered anything else I ought to be considering, before giving this a try? I had tried running this on an old on 2008 iMac (with much less power), using Parallels, but it was incredibly slow. Now that I have a much more powerful iMac, I'm wondering whether it would be worth another try. As it will be quite an investment to purchase all this third-party software to get Dragon up and running, I was hoping to get a sense of how well it works, before plunking down the cash. I would be extremely grateful for helpful feedback.

Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software. Purchase Windows
XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7. For Boot Camp
4.0 and above you can only use Windows 7 or later. Follow
instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on
installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and
installing Windows. Boot Camp enables you to boot the
computer into OS X or Windows.
2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business,
Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. Parallels is software
virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently
with OS X.
3. VM Fusion and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate,
or Windows 7. VM Fusion is software virtualization that
enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows
applications without having to install Windows. The
Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
5. VirtualBox is an Open Source freeware virtual machine such
as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.
It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM
Fusion.
Note that VirtualBox, Parallels, and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. Benchmarks of all of the above except Crossover can be found in Benchmarking Parallels, Fusion, and VirtualBox Against Boot Camp - The Mac Observer. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or later. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive. -
My mac has OSX version 10.8.2 and I'm try to install an aiport express base station which requires 10.5.7 or later. Yet when I try to install the software it says the base station is not compatible with my mac version - how do I resolve?
You already have the software installed that you need if you have 10.8.2.
If AirPort Utility cannot find the Express, that is another matter. More software is not needed. More troublehooting is needed.
Power up the Express for a full minute
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 7-8 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen
Look for a heading of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that, click on AirPort Express

Dear Comrade VideoGeek, Yes, I am extremely frustrated, and you have my sincere apology if I was rude to you. I should have known better than to say unwise and unkind things to you. My bad entirely. Sorry!! The things you don't know are that Windows 8.1 does not under ANY circumstances acceps USB video streaming. Not from my camera and not from Dazzle or ANY other device or cable. That is written into STONE by Microsoft. Can't do nothing about it. That's a barrier that cannot be broken or worked around. The other thiing you don't know is that I do not have RCA outlets on my camera. I bought it assuming it must have as most devices until then did and got it home in 2001 or whenever and found to my great dismay that it ONLY has a USB output. Not multicolored RCA jacks of any kind. That is also a barrier that I cannot break unless I buy a used camera that takes my tapes and DOES have RCA outputs. My bad. I should have returned it immediately at the time, unfortunately I was too ill at the time to do so. I know you were only trying to help. I'm sorry if I was snippy with you. You were extremely kind to try to help. And I appreciate you. Hopefully other people will see your answers and they will help them. Meanwhile, I'm banging my head against the Apple walls trying to find out which product of theirs MAY be able to work for me and which is the best solution for me all around and that too is a nightmare. No the program does not launch properly on the Mac
What happens is this.
I open my applications folder
I open the App Folder and see another folder labeled Program V2.1
I open that folder and see the Program blue icon which click to launch
The folder disappears and the blue Program icon appears in my dock along side other applications looking ready for launching.
This is where the problem starts
If I click on the blue Program icon which is in my dock along side all of my other application icons they all drop off the screen. like the screen resolution changed suddenly or something,
The menu along the top of the screen also moves off the screen . in the same manner
so my desktop which usually has a visible dock at the bottom and a menu bar on the top now doesn't show either of those elements.
I do have a couple of document icons on my desktop , you know text files or what ever they never move
If I now click my mouse anywhere on the screen all of the icons return including the blue Program icon still sitting in by dock, if I click it again same sequence of actions.
I deleted and reinstalled the latest version of Adobe Air and got the same result
I also want to mention
The top menu on the mac tells me what application is active, you know "finder" "Open office" "Firefox" what ever is program is running and active shows there
Program has never show up as being active in the top menu so I'm guessing never fully launched -
When creating a new window in safari, using command T, the marker have not activated the search field. It means you have to click there every time. Changed after upgrading to Mavericks. Anyone knows how to change this?
Yes, you can do something like that. What you would do is create a button for each image and then hide them. When I do this type of thing I place all of the buttons on a template page and then hide the template.
You can then use JavaScript to copy the icon from any of the hidden buttons to the main button that you've set up to display the image. For example, suppose you set up 10 buttons named b1, b2, b3, ...b10. The code to copy the icon from one of them to the button used to display the image (b0) would be something like this:

Adobe AIR 13 Runtime Security Bulletin for Windows or Mac
According to 5/13/2014 - Release - AIR 13 Runtime and SDK, the update for Adobe AIR 13 on 5/13/2014 includes fixes and security updates "Security update details can be found here: Security Bulletin (APSB14-14)", we have two questions:
1. Why the Adobe Air 13 runtime for Windows and Mac is not listed in the security bulletin APSB14-14, like APSB14-02?
2. Was the version released before Adobe AIR 13.0.0.111 for Windows Adobe AIR 4.0.0.1390 or Adobe AIR 13.0.0.83?

-TeamOCDMacWorld did a comparative evaluation of the October 2008 MBA with 1.86 GHz processor and the Mid-2009 MBA with 2.13 GHz chip. Their conclusion was that that 1.86 CPU was actually FASTER than the 2.13 in most applications.

They speculated that the 2.13 chip was being throttled by Apple to control heat issues and that's why it tested SLOWER than the (supposedly) slower 1.86 part.
Have to wait for testing of these new MBA units to know if the same thing occurs. But, for the Rev. B and C MBAs, the 1.86 part was actually faster in real world use!
