GP callable object waiting for abap event

Hello expertes,
I'd like to develop a gp process which contains a callable objects which keeps the process instance waiting until an abap function module send something like an event.
I don't want to put too much load on the machine and block expensive JCO ressources.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?

I tried assigning a default user(using initiation defined) to the process , also tried settting the processor as "initiator", but still not working..
I have been searching for documentation on this issue , but I couldn´t find anything..

What is LV_MATERIAL? is it a BO container element? or a class element or a just a simple variable?
Error message is clear, you are trying to evaluate LV_MATERIAL but it does not contain a value.
This is a custom workflow as it begins with WS9xxxxxxx... what is LV_MATERIAL used for? what are we expecting it to hold? maybe, from event to workflow binding we can pass the value to it.
Please share the following:
1) Definition screen shot of LV_MATERIAL
2) Screen shot of The step where it is first used - from SWDD
3) Screenshot of Event to Workflow Binding
4) name of your base Business Object (seen in the triggering events tab of the WF template in PFTC)
5) What is the corresponding variable for that BO in your workflow container
6) Screen shot of WF definition from SWDD - please identify the step going in error in that screen shot

Correlations in Workflow - wait for Delete event problem

Hi All,
I am working on version ECC5.
I have a workflow that needs to wait for any changes to i0008, i0007, i0509 and i2001 for the person who is the subject of the workflow. I have used correlations to do this and it is all working fine except for the Delete event.
For each infotype I wait for each event ie. Approved, Changed, Created, ApprovedCancelled and Delete. When the events are published the wait event is triggered and the workflow goes to the next steps where it does a recalculation, fires off a new workflow and ends the current one. This is working for all of the events except Delete. The Delete event is set up exactly the same as the rest, but somehow the workflow wait event is not triggered. It is happening with the Delete event for all the Infotypes I am waiting for.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to what may be the problem.

Yes, the delete event is being published. I am using the same object e.g BasicPay for the delete event that I am using for the other events - Approved, Created etc. that are working. The correlation and the wait for event steps are set up exactly the same way as they are for the events that are working. I find it curious that the delete event doesn't work for any of the infotypes. Why? Could it be that when a record is deleted the object no longer exists?

Process Chains Always Hangs at the second step waiting for an event

Gents;
all BI process chains created in Production system are always hanging in the second step waiting for an event RSPROCESS with a certain parameter. This issue is happening for all process chains in Production system and it is not happening for the same in other systems in the landscape (development, Copy of porudction, quality and so on). I tried to trigger the event manually using SM62 but the job is always stick to status " released". the same thing was replicated in other systems and the job status has changed and the process was completed.
Any idea what might cause this issue??

You said that this thing is happening only in production system.Try doing the following checks :
1.Check SM21to see if there are any red entries.It can be possible that there is some data base RFC connection failure.While checking SM21, make sure you give proper selection condition.If there are any red entries, you may take the help of basis guys to understand the type of failure.May be file system has got some problems.
2.Check St22 and try to analyse if any short dumps.
3.Try to check Connection with the source system ( Goto RSA1->source system tab->right click on the source system and select check option to find if any errors in the connection.
4.If possible, try to load manually in some other info provider.

High "CPU + Wait for CPU" event on pl/sql execute operation

I am executing a pl/sql in 256 parallel sessions, on 11G r2 DB (RAC 2 nodes), on a 42core IBM P7 Machine.
PL/sql function opens a cursor on a huge table with around 20M rows and does further processing.
Work-load is equally divided into 256 parallel sessions. 256 parallel sessions are opened by a middle-ware application and each session processes data based on an identifier (there are 256 distinct identifier values).
PL/sql function is comprised of some SQL operations, on which i am experiencing some cluster waits. But CPU + wait for CPU event on pl/sql execute operation is close to 80% of the total execution time.

what does this mean?

you could have problem with a transaction.
Check on v$session_wait to retrieve where this session hangs..
In v$session_longops you can also find the progress of the session.
Undo tbs are ok?

Shopping Cart Workflow - "Wait for change event" not firing?

Hi there,
I have a scenario where if I create a shopping cart above my spending limit it will go into the approver's inbox, that is fine.
Now if I change the total value of the shopping cart to be within my spending limit the original workflow should be "logically deleted" and a "no step approval workflow" should be triggered.
I see when the SC workflow triggers it also branches with a "wait for events", so that if it changes etc it will get caught here.
When I change the SC it does not do anything, the value of the cart changes but it still sits in the approvers inbox and the "no step approval workflow" does not trigger.
We are busy upgrading to SRM 5.0, it worked perfectly in the SRM 3.0 system we had.
Any ideas what would cause the "change event" not to fire?

Hey Masa,
You are the man!! That solved it.....I have implemented the BBP_WFL_SECUR_BADI and for whatever reason I set the security level to 4 when it should have been 2.
4     "High" (workflow is never restarted when changes are made)
3     "Medium" (WF restarted conditionally when changes are made)
2     "Low" (workflow is always restarted when changes are made)
1     "None" (changes to the object are not allowed)
0     "Not defined"

BPEL wait for an event activity

Hi,
I have requirement for two scenarios ::
1. BPEL waiting for a business event (like event from EO's create /update / delete)
2. BPEL waiting in between for callback from other processes.
if #2 is possible, inherently I can achieve #1 by having another
mediator listen the event and invoke the callback. (Please suggest if
there is any better way)
Can any point me some links / documents for implementing above two scenarios.

The flexlib tag should render an image from a string. I want to load an image in the actionscript code, convert it to a string and then draw it. However, as soon as the application starts it attempts to render the string, which is still empty.
The trace is like this, for some reason the getimg() is called twice:

As you can see, the image isn't converted until after flexlib tries to draw it. The solution would be to make the flexlib component wait for the imageLoaded event, or make the specific tag re-initialize itself. How can I do this?

Great, thanks. Now I can narrow my problem scope down.
This is now the isolated culprit of my program:
"Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space"
I already ran garbage collector just before 2nd method but the same error still occures.
But if I were to comment out method 2, run the program (to generate the file from method 1), then do the opposite and run again, it will work. ie. I have to run the main program twice.
I don't understand this. The free memory after running GC after method 1 has reset the free mem to approx 1654kb so why can't method 2 run properly?
Even if I just run method 2 alone, the free mem it starts with is 1639kb.
Here are the memory values during the execution.

How to create many objects listening for one event

I'm experimenting with the EventDispatcher class and I have a
test class working. I want to use a loop to create a variety of
movie clips that all listen for an event that gets dispatched every
half a second. I have the event dispatching properly. My problem is
that when creating the objects, the temporary variable I use to
hold each created object has a life that extends beyond the loop in
which it is instantiated. Rather than all five created objects
changing color, only the last one changes color (see the code
below--it lives on the first frame of an FLA file).
This is not entirely surprising when I look at the code --
'this' refers to the global scope and 'square' refers to the last
created object that it pointed to. Here's the resulting trace:

How can I modify this code so that each square object changes
its own color?

graphics.clear in the context of that function handler in my
code would refer not to the squares but to the global scope,
wouldn't it? In which case you'd be clearing all the graphics from
your top level movie. I tried changing 'square.graphics' to just
'graphics' in my handler and my squares just remained the original
steady black.
Your code doesn't use a loop and therefore isn't re-using a
variable. You've escaped my 'logical errors' through brute force.
(BTW, I think my code would work in AS2 if I used the old-school
draw methods). Suppose you had to create 100 objects? Would you
want to manually instantiate each one, typing that function over
and over again? You'd have 500 lines of highly redundant code!
Maybe try your example using a loop instead? I think you'll
find it's pretty tough to sneak any vars like 'i' or 'square' from
the global scope into the handler--the handler refers to the
living, breathing variable rather than it's value at the time the
handler was instantiated. Furthermore, you can't sneak any
information about the square into your handler via the event object
because the event object is created in a totally different place.

Make coded ui tests wait for onfocus event during playback - SharePoint 2010 InfoPath form

I recorded a coded UI test of a SharePoint 2010 site hosting an InfoPath form. The combobox on the infopath form loads the items on onfocus event. It seems that the coded ui test do not wait for the onfocus event to complete and tries to select the
item and fails with the error
The web page could not be accessed. If the page is refreshing, please wait until the page refreshes and then perform actions on it.
how can i make the Test to wait till it completes the onfocus event and then select the item.
one approach i applied was

Wait for Event Step (Urgent).

Hi, all!
I m unable to successfully execute my WAIT FOR EVENT step in my Workflow.
Scenario:
Have my own customised screen for HR approval process. In the second step after displaying to the approver when he actually presses on the APPROVE button my APPROVED event for the same object is triggered. Now I m waiting for this event im my workflow. Done the WAIT FOR EVENT in the WF .ie. from WF container selected the BOR and assigned the APPROVED event in the WAIT FOR EVENT step.
Problem:
My WF is unable to catch the event .ie. even in SWEL, "NO RECEIVER FOUND".

Actually I m facing a peculiar porblem...
Scenario: My WF has 3 steps.
1)The user fills in the initial screen.
2)Then it goes to the second person who adds comments and approves it.
3)This triggers the APPROVE event for the same OBJECT.
For which my WF has the WAIT FOR EVENT. After which there is just this SEND MAIL task
Problem:
My WF when executed by itself actually performs perfectly and the SEND MAIL is actually executed.
But when it is initiated from my ABAP prog...It goes to the next level user in line, where he adds his comments n then it goes to my WAIT FOR EVENT but my SEND MAIL is not executed.
As the 2nd step of display is done with the object key hence there shud not be any value passing prob from my prog.
I cannot understand the prob.....

I designed a BPM with a sender requesting for a Transport Acknowledgement.
But earlier I defined via IDX_NOALE, that no Ack. should be sent.
My problem is now, that I have a lot of messages waiting for the event 'SEND_OK_TRANSPORT' of object type CL_SWF_XI_MESSAGE.
How can I stop these workitems (>10000 workitems
Is there a report to fix this problem?

If you go to SXMB_MONI_BPE you can see various options to play around with work item and work flows.
if you want to change workflow state manually just execute Diagnosis Processes with Error option here you can edit work item and workflow states.

Problem with wait for event

Hi everyone,
I'm using wait for event step in my workflow of a custom event called zevent2.
I'm not using the event as a start event of the workflow.The event is getting triggered at a certain point of the workflow programmatically.
So for that what should be the entry in SWE2? I've maintained the following entry for zevent2 at swe2 tcode.
Object type: BUS2000126
Event: ZEVENT2
Receiver type:
Receiver function module: SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT_IBF
In swel I'm finding out that event got triggerd but it is giving error "No Receiver Entered".
And the workflow is getting stuck at 'wait for step event'.
So can anybody please tell me what is the step am I missing? is the swe2 correct?

you have to specify RECIEVER TYPE without which you will be getting this error
goto SWE2 and give the value and your problem will be done
