GP with variable amount of steps

Dear,
What I'd like to have is a GP with a variable number of steps. How this is realised is of little importance, but what is most important is that we can (using the Webservice to start the GP) dynamically give for example 5 users, and then 5 steps will be ready in the GP.
I know it's possible to 'skip' steps, so what I had in mind was creating a GP with a max of 20 steps, and then when calling the GP with 5 users, I'd 'allow' the first 5 steps, and 'disable' the other 15. Ending in a 21st, final step.
Or I could give a parameter for the fifth step (when I give the user) and then a check that if parameter = x, it would go immediately to the last step.
This is possible, right?
Are there perchance any examples of something similar?

Configure ur BPM as payload dependent or message-dependent. In payload dependent, u will have to specify the no of messages. In message dependent, u ll have to specify the indicator in message indicating the end of messages.

Recurring entries with variable amounts

Hi ,
How can we handle recurring entries with different amounts regularly. As an e.g. of this scenario "Telephone bills/electricity bills are paid every month and we need to automate the same but their amounts would be different ".
I believe recurring entries could do only for same amounts, so I doubt if this can be used. Account determination template - my guess is how flexible it could be? Do we have any other approach to handle this?

If you have variable amounts every month, it is easier to use sample document, not recurring entries.

Manual Excise duty with fixed amount in Sales order

Dear Sir/Madam.,
This is regarding manual excise duty with fixed amount in SD Module . I
have created three conditon type ZEXP,ZECS,ZA1X for BED ,CESS and HSED for manual excise duty with fixed amount, other than the standard condition type JEXP,JECS,JA1X , because my TRADING SALE scenario needs both condition type with fixed percentage and fixed amount conditions also. After the pricing procedure updation for trading sale, I have tried to create the sale invoice with VF01 , it is ok till the VF01 for manual excise duty but when ever I tried to excise posting with J1IIN. the manual excise duty show only zero, whiile we used the standard Condition type JEXP, JECS, AND JA1X with fixed percentage 8% -2% -1% our over all steps are ok till J1IIN for excise invoice, mean BED ,CESS and HSED shown correctly.
I have done some experiment with the TAXINN tax procedure in (Logistics general > tax on good movments> india> basic settting>determination of excise duty> Maintain excise default), I have replaced the condition types JEXP, JECS and JA1X with the ZEXP, ZECS and ZA1X in the corresponding filed. then after my manual excise duty with fixed amount data was reflecting
in the J1IIN and it start to work properly with the excise duty but my fixed percentage condition type stop to working mean, it was now showing the duty at the time of excise duty posting J1IIN .
I want to use both the condition types in the same TRADING SALE scenario. May anybody help me to solve this issue.

Problem with Variable screen in WAD

Hi ,
I have a problem with variable screen in WAD , in the varable seen it is displaying only Key , it is not giving any description , but in BEX is is displaying both Key and Description , can any only have an idea why is this happening . this is occuring only for one variable , rest are working fine .

Hi Abraham,
thsi could be a problem from the specisic setting of the infocube. Please check the BEx Settings from the infocube. You can find them by the following steps:
- search for the infocube
- doubleclick on the infocube
- choose an specific infoobjekt
- right mousebutton and click "specific dataprovider settings"
- check if the right entries are set

Error: Object variable or with variable not set while accessing BPC Excel

I am working on BPC NW 7.5. When I am trying to access BPC for Excel I am getting the below error.
'object variable or with variable not set'
When I click on BPC for Excel it ask for the credentials, after entering it we encounter this error.
Any idea why is this happening?

I am getting an error "object variable or with block variable not set" while trying to submit data through an Input schedule.
I am working on SAP BPC 7.0 NW and using MS Excel 2003.
I can log in to BPC Admin and excel with my user id and password.
Only when i am trying to click esubmit --> send and refresh schedules i am getting this error.
I checked my security profile and i have the submit data task in my task profile.
Following couple existing SDN postings i tried to check the ADD-INs of the excel on my system. However it looks like the steps listed in the existing SDN posts are for MS EXCEL 2007.
Please suggest me how do i resolve this issue. Please note I am working on SAP BPC 7.0 NW and using MS Excel 2003.

I have done, In Excel 2007, go to Excel Option -> Add-Ins -> Manage: COM Add-ins and Go...
You look "BPC COM" disable and need enable again.
But I am getting same Error message again and again. Please help me...

I doubt if you are following the below steps. Please confirm. Thanks
1. Open your normal Excel.
2. Check for Planning and Consolidation tab on the top ribbon.
3. I assume this wouldn't be available for you.
4. If this is not present, open the Excel Options
5. Click on Add-Ins and check the Active Application Add-ins
6. Is Planning and consolidation present in it?
7. If not, select "Disabled Add-ins" in the drop down below besides "Manage".
8. Click "GO"
9. Select the Planning and Consolidation add-in from disabled add-ins and "Enable" it.
10. Check once again if this add-in is prersent in "Active" add-ins .
11. Now close and re-open excel
12. The Tab should be present now (Planning and Consolidation)

Issue with variable selection

Hello friends
I have created a sample iView which has a BW query. I have attached a variable form to the input of the Query and a table view to its output. However when I am deploying the iView, I cannot see a selection list for the variable and neither any data in the table

So you have a form in which the user selects value from a drop-down list and once user submits the table should be populated with appropriate data.
Steps:
Start--FormDataServiceTable--
End
1.Place a form , next a Data Service and a Table which pulls data from this data service.
2.Add a Dop-Down control to the form and configure if its a Static or Dynamic as needed
3. Connect the Form OUT port to DataService IN port(drag and drop) , select the connector/line which was created and click configure.
4. Map the Drop-Down control to appropriate column (This is available in bottom right of the screen)
5.Click on the table and select the columns which you would like the Table to have.
6.Save and Run.
This should run as desired

Outgoing payment with Zero amount when Full adance is paid

I am making A/P down payment request based on purchase order, then I make full payment of PO (full advance payment - no amount of payment left with) through "Outgoing payment" which creates negative amount in Business partner balance and shows a negative entry in "outgoing payment" screen. Moving further, I make Goods receipt PO and then I make A/P invoice of regular amount based on goods receipt PO / Purchase order.
Up till now, the full payment has been made in advance through A/P down payment request and upon receiving goods the A/P invoice of regular amount is received. Now when I go to "outgoing payments" I have no amount left to pay (i.e. It displays 2 entries of same amount, one with positive amount of A/P invoice and the other one with negative amount of A/P down payment request to show the due balance = zero) So I am trying to clear the vendor "outgoing payments" by paying with Zero amount, but the system shows the error "The confirmation amount should be greater than Zero".
How can I clear the vendor "Outgoing payments" with zero amount ?? as it's payment has been made in advance.
Note: Please give me the solution by keeping in mind that I have to pay full amount in advance.
Solution to this problem would be highly appreciated.

For Cases where full Advance is paid initially, You Follow these procedure, I have tested in my DB its working fine.
Step 1: Raise a Purchase order Say Rs 1000/-
Step 2: Raise a GR(PO) of Rs 1000/-
Step 3: Go To A/P Down Pmt -
Select the Vendor -
Say copy from GR(PO), And select te One you wanted. At the bottom in the DPM Field give 100% and Add the Document.
Step 4: Raise Out Going Payment by linking to the A/P Down Pmt what you have posted. ie., Go To Out Going Pmt Screen---Select the Vendor, This will display all invoices, Down pmts, Credit Memos, and JE's. Select the A/P Down Pmt what you have posted and go to payment means fill in the respective field and add the document.
Step 5: Go To A/P Invoice Screen, select the vendor. And click on Copy from GR(PO), Select the respective GR(PO) document.
And At the Bottom double click on Total Down Payment Button, This will display the list of all Down Payments for which Out going payments are also posted. Here Select the respective Down payment and add the document.
When you add this A/P Invoice document gets added and the status of the document will be closed. As you have made full payment in the A/P Down Payment Screen.
And This Invoice will not appear in the Out Going Screen as the document is closed.

Add 2 container variables in control step BPM

Hi All,
I have a scenario where I need to add 2 container variables in control step under AlertMessage and I am using under exception branch
Control Step
StepName: XXXX
Action : XXXX
AlertCategory: XXXX
AlertMessage: ?
I am successful putting one container variable in alert message with &AAAA& but I want to add another variable values &BBBB& as well.
When I tried to keep variables as &AAAA& and &BBBB&..I can return code 99 in sxi_cache.
How can I achieve this with BPM..I am using sap pi 7.0

may be i need to explain more clearly..
I have 2 container variables with simple type which holds 2 different payload values.
Under exception branch I have a control step to throw alert. In this I need to pass alert messages with these 2 varaibles.
As I said earlier I am able to pass successfully one container variable value but when I insert the second variable it is not picking up and when I check sxi_cache the IP return was 99 which means some error occured while assiging these values.( I tried in different ways)
But when I inserted has &AAAA& and &BBBB& then reuton code was 0 but whn I run scenario it is not populating both values
Can anyone please help me how I can populate 2 variable values in alert message under control step.

Example file, illustrator file with variables linked to xml

CS5 – Where can i find an example of an illustrator files with variables, linked to an xml file. We want to export it immediately to .pdf format when the file is linked. Is this possible? The illustrator help files are not so clear about this matter.

Edit the bound objects' content.

i went in a loop to concatenation counter value with 40 text item.
once text item have a unique name like these:

i need to concatenation loop counter value with text item name.

like this thing that step by step go on all item and insert any value on that.

Display for variable amount of time?

Any thoughts on how I might accomplish the following:
I need to be able to display a graphic (or video) for a variable amount of time in captivate. This will be for a quiz type slide. The user will only have a limited amount of time to view a graphic, and then must answer a question. The graphic will only be displayed for fractions of a second ie. 1/16 to a half second. The user must be able to adjust the time, so that they can go from slow transitions to faster transitions (for training purposes).
My initial thoughts were:
Is there a me
1) Collect and set a variable in Captivate for the time to wait (user selects at run time), pass that variables value to a flash object and play the content for the specified length of time on the Captivate slide.
or
2) Create a new question type widget and define the widget parameters (time to display, image file to use, etc..), but will I be able to change a parameter at run time to allow the user to define the length of time to display???
or
3) Create the whole quiz in Flash, then tackle transmiting the quiz score/interactions back to captivate? I don't have eLearning suite, so I dont have the question extras as well.
I would prefer to do as much in captivate for speed and I am most familiar with it. I would prefer to do as little in Flash as possible since I don't know it as well.
Suggestions???

Is there a method in Captivate to wait a period of time, and if so just set a conditional loop to show an object, wait the time, and then hide? I am figuring that there is not, so my three other plans of attack...

Hierarchy authorization with variables of type exit

Hi all,
I am trying to implement hierarchy based authorizations with variables. After collecting information from the SAP documentation and this forum, I think I know more or less how to do it, but it's not working and it has me very confused.
These are the steps I have followed:
- From RSSM, I have created a hierarchy authorization object including my characteristic and 0TCTAUTHH
- From RSSM again, I have created a hierarchy authorization pointing to the node $ZG_V_008
- From the Query designer, I have created a hierarchy node variable of processing type customer exit ZG_V_008 (are any special settings needed here?)
- From the Query designer, I have created <b>another</b> hierarchy node variable of processing type authorization, and I have used this variable to restrict the hierarchy for my characteristic
- I have edited the EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001 to watch for I_STEP = 0 and give values to ZG_V_008 (we'll get to my code later in case we solve this issue first
It is my understanding that with this setup, the user exit will be called to process the value of ZG_V_008 in I_STEP = 0, however, when debugging, I don't see any calls for the function with I_STEP = 0.
What have I done wrong?

Thanks, Jimmy, but that does not help much: my problem is that my user exit is not evaluated with I_STEP=0, but there are no error messages or anything like that.
I have created a test user <b>without</b> a developer role to see if that could have any impact, but it's still not working.
Any ideas?

Error in Looping with variable

A cursor fetch loop is not the ideal processing structure.
It is slow. It requires data to travel from the buffer cache of the database into PL/SQL variables (in the PGA). It requires context switching between the PL/SQL and SQL engines.
It does not scale. More rows means more data to travel that path from the SQL engine to the PL/SQL engine. More loop iterations in PL/SQL. If a single loop iteration (for processing a row) is 1ms, then a 100,000 rows will take a 100 seconds. 200,000 rows 200 seconds. Etc. This clearly does not scale with an increase in data volume.
Also keep in mind that DBMS_OUTPUT does not write to screen or display anything. It is incapable of accessing a client device as it executes inside a server process. So if your loop is for a 1000 rows, it means writing a 1000 lines of text into very expensive server memory - and then expecting the client to read that afterwards and display it. Why? This is not a standard client-server method. It also does not scale. It can actually crash the server when this method is abused.
The standard method would be to create a SQL cursor using PL/SQL code, and then return a reference handle (pointer) to the client. This allows the client the ability to fetch data directly from the cursor - in an optimal way that does not consume expensive server memory.I have to say it: I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to write this whenever it needs to be written rather than just giving up and letting people stumble along with bad design - it must take a lot of mental stamina to keep doing it. One day it will sink into my head also :-)
