    I have a GP70 2PE Leopard but I have some mic problems.
    It works, but it sounds like i'm underwater and the only thing i hear is wapwapwapwapwapwapwap.
    Anyone has any idea how to fix it please? Or even knows where the mic is on this laptop?

    i wanted to play dayz standalone on my laptop (gp70 2pe leopard) and i thougt it could do it easily.
    But when i play dayz the framerates are very low even on very low graphics setting etc.
    Any suggestions on this ? because i think it should be able to run it just fine.

    Is your power light in orange while you are play DAYZ? Or it's blue?
    If it's blue, that means your GP70 2PE only runs on internal (Intel) graphic chip and may not be fast enough.
    To enforce your game running on external (NVIDIA) graphic chip, right-click your desktop and go to "NVIDIA Control Panel" -> "Manage 3D settings" -> select "Program Settings" and manually browse the execution file of the game DAYZ into customized list and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" as your preferred graphic processor. :cool:

    hi all i need help i have a creative 5. sound card with digital out only speakers. and when i try and use my mic on a system like msn it will not let me its like i have no audio from it at all. but if i un mute my mic it works fine but i can here my voice any help would be apreciated. I would love to be able to not here my voice in my speakers so as you can see my mic functions but i can here my voice. and if i mute it and try and use on msn i get nothing from it at all. is this because im digital out only but if i switch to analog i cant get sound as my speakers are pure digital. somone help please.Message Edited by cruser92 on 2-0-2005 04:00 AM

    well i solved it with a simpl mic head set combo and switching from dig to analog all works great. and im now happy peace all case closed on my end.

  • Help Please! -- issue with Mad Catz controller

    Can anyone help me out here? I have a Mad Catz Wireless PC Con and I'm having trouble getting it to work. After plugging it into a USB port, when I go to the System Profiler and go to the USB section, the PC Con is listed as hooked up to the USB port like it should be, so I know the computer is reading it properly, but I can't get it to work. When I open the apps I want to use it with, the buttons don't do anything. The obvious reason for this would be that the PC Con isn't compatible with those applications, but that's not the issue here because I have an application (USB Overdrive) that allows joysticks (or controllers or whatever) to be set up to work with any application, and this always worked for me perfectly when I had Tiger. With Tiger I used to use the PC Con with the emulator applications all the time, but now that I've upgraded to Leopard, nothing happens when I hit the buttons. There were no decent instructions with the PC Con. Is there anything I need to to do install the controller first before I can use it or something like that? Does anyone have any ideas for me? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks alot.

  • Help Please -- Routing issue

    Hi All...
    I have a Linksys WRT54GL Broadband Router.
    I have recently signed up for DSL.
    I am trying to connect my DSL to the router, but it doesn't seem to work.
    My DSL modem assigns 192.168.1.65 ip to my Routers internet interface, with a Subnet mask of /24 and default gateway of 192.168.1.254.
    I have setup my Router to be a DHCP server to 3 computers with IP address range of 192.168.10.X (assigned dynamically). The Router's IP address is 192.168.10.1 (that is through which i can configure the router settings).
    So my coputer gets ip 192.168.10.100, Subnet mask /24 and default gateway 192.168.10.1.
    Now when i am in the routers web interface, i can ping all the websites, using its ping or trace route utility.
    But when i try to access a website from my PC, i can't.
    When i ping my routers interface ie 192.168.1.65 (that is the ethernet port connected to the DSL modem) from my PC i can but when i try to ping the DSL modems gateway 192.168.1.254 or any other website i cant.
    So in a way i can only go as far as the ethernet / internet interface on my router and not beyond that.
    Can anyone help me please.

    Just did.. and no luck... I disabled Antivirus, and Windows firewall on my PC.. it didn't work.
    I tried connecting to the net from the second PC... no luck. Did ipconfig /renew to get a new lease on the second machine.. got a new lease but couldnt connect to the net.
    Same issue .... cannot get beyond Routers internet interface.
    The routing table on the router looks like this....

  • OS X Leopard Help Please

    I need some help or even an area to start looking. I have a graphics design lab and a journalism lab both are running CS4 Master Collection. I have over 180 users who log on to these machines with network accounts and their home folders are sitting on an XServe also running Leopard. PhotoShop, Illustrator, Indesign, etc. etc.. work and launch fine when a network user logs in. When they try to launch Premiere it launches, ask to either create a new project, ask for the place to put the new project and then after clicking ok, it sits for a long time and then crashes. It creates the project in their networked Documents folder and you can go in, double click on the project and then it loads, but that kinda seems flaky. If I log out as a network user, log in as the local admin, it works fine so there has to be a permission issue somewhere but I don't know where to start looking.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys I will continue on in my journey trying to find an answer. Although you both had good suggestions, they just are not feasible in our situation. I would hope that Adobe would make better applications that are more Network friendly but I suppose them doing that and me finding my answer are about the same as I winning the lottery.

  • Help, please - Firmware issues

    I posted on Christmas on this forum about an iPod shuffle I had received for Christmas that was having Firmware issues. I connected it to the computer via the dock, downloaded iTunes, installed all necessary software, updated the iPod as necessary and sync-ed it. When I went to play it, I got nothing. The blinking lights told me that the firmware was damaged and it needed to be restored to factory settings. I figured out that I had not disconnected it properly from the computer after updating it (light was still blinking), so I connected it again and restored it to factory settings. Then I sync-ed it again. I did this a few times, always getting the same response from my iPod: firmware damaged, needs to be restored to factory settings. I thought I had broken it, but my dad (former techie) told me that if it had been restored to factory settings and it still wasn't working, there was something wrong with the product.
    TOday we went and exchanged it. Here I am, sitting here at my computer. I updated the iPod as necessary sync-ed it with my music and I am ready to go. When iTunes tells me it's okay and the light on the iPod is no longer blinking, I disconnect it, restart the iPod, plug in my earphones, press play three times like the directions say I have to do to get to the first song, and...
    FIRMWARE DAMAGED, NEEDS TO BE RESTORED TO FACTORY SETTINGS...
    NO!!!
    I restored it.
    I sync-ed it.
    Nothing.
    I restored it again.
    I sync-ed it again.
    Nothing.
    Now, I am here.
    Is it me? Am I doing something wrong to it? Is that it?
    Somebody please help me.

    Figured out the problem... was sync-ing the iPod wrong. Doing it from library rather than the source list.

  • MSI GP70 2PE Leopard-Fan Noice

    Hello
    Just got this computer and the first thing I notice is the fan is really loud.
    I have updated the bios and all the drivers, still when I start the PC the fan is really active from the start.
    My older Asus PC with the older Intel I7 and nvidia 640m is more quiet....
    Is this a Bios problem that MSI will fix????

    It might be an issue with the EC firmware, or it could just be inherent to that machine since it is meant to be a slim model, which means less cooling capacity and would probably have to spin up the fan more often to keep things stable. Although if it is as loud as you claim it is, I kind of doubt that is the issue.

    I bought my MacBook Pro with leopard and later upgraded to SnowLeopard. So I have a Leopard disk and a Snow Leopard disk. I want to completely re-install the system to start fresh, with a time machine backup, so I figured the best way was to erase the drive with disk utility on the startup disk and re-install OSX(unless anyone has a better idea)
    But the question I have is, do I have to install Leopard again and then upgrade to snow leopard, or can I start straight from the leopard upgrade disk?

    you haven't explained why you want to do this. a better idea might be not to reinstall at all.

    you don't have to install leopard first. but it's far from clear that you need to reinstall at all.

  • Help please, this issue has gotten me to the point of frustation!!!

    so i downloaded PC Companion from the SE website, and it installed in my computer just fine...i'm currently running android 2.1 on my xperia x10 and the phone connects to the computer just fine too. the problem is that when i load up the PC Companion the dashboard doesn't load, so all i get is a blank page (i've included an image if it helps you help me). I've spent quite the ammount of time on this forums reading, and i found that there's a lot of people with other problems related to the pcsuite software, and i've found other people have the same problem that i have with this software. As i said, i've read as much as i could before posting this, and i've tried most of the solutions people have posted but nothing have worked for me, so i've just given up and don't know what else to do. Any help would be much apreciated, thanks in advance.

    Thanks to Frukttime10 we identified and find a way to solve the problem.
    For those who have the problem please do that:
    1) Go in the registry (open a dos command and type "regedit"):
         a) Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0" and verify the key 1400 has value 0 (if not change to 0).
         b) Go to  "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet   Settings\Zones\" and verify that you don't have any "crappy folder"  name, as in the attached example http://rapidshare.com/files/454333853/registry.jpg).You should only see folder 0,1,2,3,4. If any other folder with strange name is present delete the folder.
         c) Go to  "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet   Settings\Zones\0" and verify the key 1400 has value 0 (if not change  to  0).

    2) Close PC Companion using the option "exit" from systray (right click on PC Companion icon in systray).
    3) Re start PC Companion => Your dashboard should now be displayed.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet  Settings

  • Macbook Pro - Lion - Snow Leopard - help please!

    Hi there.
    I've just bought a second-hand Macbook Pro through ebay which has come with Lion pre-installed. I keep being prompted to do a software update but can't do this as (my understanding is) the Lion software belongs to the previous owner and not the computer itself. The apple ID associated with lion is not mine, and I do not know the previous owners password.
    I would like to do a clean install anyway to make sure I erase all the previous owners data and assumed I could do this by inserting my RETAIL copy of snow leopard (which I used to upgrade my original Macbook) into the new macbook pro, pressing C on start-up and then doing erase and install. This would then allow me to upgrade my Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion via the app store and everything would properly assign over to me, I would legitimately own the software etc etc and all would be fine.
    However, the Macbook seems to not like the Snow Leopard disc and on some further investigation it seems I can't 'downgrade' the software (even though I want to put it straight back up again). So my question is, what do I do now?! I'm assuming there is a way around this and someone helpful and clever will know what to do :-)

    As the MacBook Pro you have bought came with OS X Lion, you can't install any older operating system because its hardware is not supported. That's the reason why you can't install Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
    What you have to do is to contact with Apple in order to deauthorize the Mac and all its software (OS X, iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand) from the old owner's Apple ID > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 First try to do it, and if Apple tells you that the old owner has to do it, contact with him/her.
    Near all people who sell their old Mac with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion preinstalled do the same error, and it's serious: if the hard drive gets damaged, for example, you won't be able to reinstall OS X, so you can't do anything

  • Help please! Issues with Superdrive.

    I was ahving huge issues with my MBA these past days. Now I was able to boot with the OS X dvd and reinstall the OS. the installation went well, but now I have an eject symbol in the upper right corner of the system bar and it seems my USB port is either fried or locked. I can not use any other USB devices (wanted to hook up to my external HD to backup all my stuff and then zero out my MBA and clean install). its strange. I can restart the MBA pressing C and then the Superdrive runs. Guess this speaks against the USB port being fried.
    Would appreciate any help given soon!!

    Sorry if this is too basic and you have tried it but here goes:
    to eject the superdrive select the icon for it on the desk top (with the s-drive connected) then press and hold down the eject button on the keyboard upper most right on keyboard.
    You may even need to have the disc in the drive but I doubt that.
    Or go to iTunes or Finder, select the drive and eject from there.

  • Upgrading to snow leopard help please!

    I just want to know if my virtual pc created using vm fusion will still be in tact when I upgrade my mac. I have not done an operating system upgrade yet & don't know what happens with all my software when I upgrade. Only had a mac for a few years now so I am use to what happens when upgrading windows.

    Upgrading only affects system files. However, the version of VM Fusion you have should be one that is fully compatible with Snow Leopard; if not, then be sure to upgrade it.
    How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
    A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
    Boot from your current Tiger Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and later.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally. 
    If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
    Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    Select the destination volume from the left side list.
    Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    Check the box labeled Erase destination.
    Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
    Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
    C. Important: Please read before installing:
    If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
    You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
    The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update.  While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
    D. To upgrade:
    Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
    Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
    Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    Restart the computer.
    Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
    Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
    Wait for installer to finish loading.
    E. If updating:
    Download and install update(s) 
    Use Software Update, or
    Download standalone updater(s).
