GPOs On Different DCs Have Different Time Stamps

Hi All,
I believe that we may have a GPO replication problem. Different PCs in the same OU report different settings as displayed by gpresult.exe. It looks like some PCs are getting old versions of the GPO.
I did some digging, and found a utility called gpotool.exe from the 2003 reskit.
(Our DCs are all 2008R2 running at a 2003 functional level. Two sites, well-connected by 20 Gb links.)
After considerable searching, I have been unable to find any explanation of the errors anywhere. In fact, the tool has little documentation anywhere. The error messages look like this:
Policy {01BC3F84-0862-4CEA-A228-A36D6C62A612}
gpotool: e    ERROR: Err: Size different between Machine
Error: DC6.mydom.ca - DC8.mydom.ca sysvol mismatch
gpotool: e    ERROR: Err: Size different between MachineI
I tried to load the stats into a spreadsheet by creating a report using powershell to query all of the GPOs using
get-gpo. Sadly, this utility does not retrieve any size information. What it does highlight however is that the GPOs have different modification times on different DCs.
In most cases, the time stamps differ by less than an hour, but a very few GPOs differ by several days.
My questions:
Is it normal to have different modification times on different DCs?
Is the report from gptool.exe valid, or should i ignore it?
Many thanks in advance!
Consume. Conform. Obey.

This is an FRS issue. Have you looked for issues/errors regarding FRS? The GPO time stamps are a symptom of this problem.
1. There is a GPOTOOL.exe for 2008+ that MS never officially released. It works on my domain. I can publish it to a DropBox public folder if you are interested.
2. Or you could stand up a Win8 box and install RSAT tools and load the GPMSC console. It has WONDERFUL tools that address this very issue. It has the GPOTool "built in" among other nice things.

  • CDHDR table entry updation with different Time Stamp

    Hi Experts,
I'm changing the Contract Partner First Name. The time stamp updation in Change Document Object DEBI is with UTC but the BUPA_BUP Object with Local Time Stamp.
We want both time stamp with the UTC.
Time Zone mentioned at SPRO level is UTC.
Have anyone faced such situation earlier?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Jyothi,
I'm not sure whether this answers your query or not but suggest you to look at these 2 FMs'
    BUS_CUA_VARI_FUNCTION_CONVERT
    BUS_LOCATOR_OKCODE
Ist FM uses table TBZ4 that uses GUI.
Probably this is the reason you view object BUPA_BUP in the table with GUI time.

  • Can I enter a different time stamp in Citadel?

While logging data in a citadel database is it possible to log time stamp other than the system time ?

    - Memory Tags will get the timestamp from the local acting DSC Engine's computer.
    - I/O Tags get the timestamp from the I/O server when the timestamp is provided. This could be for example a VI-based Server that provides special timestamp for certain items.
    - OPC server: Normally the OPC server provides the timestamp and LabVIEW DSC's OPC client just passes through the timestamp to be logged into Citadel.
Conclusion: If you just use regular tags, you cannot provide a timestamp with the value to be logged. You have to write your own (VI-based) server with its timestamps.
LabVIEW DSC comes with some VI-based server examples and a .pdf manual for VI-based Server development. That's maybe a good starting point.
    Hope this helps

  • Split in stock transport order due to different time stamp in STR

    Hi,
Deliveries created for stock PO's are splitted due to time stamp per seconds in the Stock PO. This originates due to timestamp set on the Stock transfer requisition created in APO. In this case several Stock transfer requisitions are consolidated to one Stock transfer order which is OK but it creates several deliveries due to the times stamp (split on seconds per day).
Request to suggest the way to avoid split of delivery due to time stamp.
    With regards,

  • WRT610N certain file types have wrong time stamp

Hi, I have searched this forum for a similar problem with no luck - so here goes...
I have a WRT610N router using the latest firmware 1.00.03 B15. After upgrading the firmware I reset router for 30 sec., and then powerdown for 30 sec. as I have read on this forum, and yes the USB drive was disconnected before hand, but I still have this problem when creating/saving certain file types on the USB drive attached to the router.
I have discovered that MS Word and PowerPoint files (.doc & .ppt) are saved with the correct date and time, but MS Excel, Notepad, and HTML files (.xls, .txt, and .mht) are saved with a time stamp that is one hour later!!! There may be other file types that are affected by this as well.
Example: I create/save a Word file and also an Excel file at 1:00 PM, When I use Windows Explorer to view the details of the files on the USB drive, the Word file has a timestamp of 1:00 PM, but the Excel file has a timestamp of 2:00 PM (in the future). All other functions on the router seem to be OK.
If I create these five file types on the C: drive they all have the same timestamps, I also have a Netgear SC101 NAS which shows the correct timestamps. I only have this problem when using the USB drive connected to the WRT610N. I tried this on 3 different computers - all have the same issue.
This may seem like a minor issue, but Im using SmartSync Pro to back up all the drives on the LAN and it uses the file's timestamp to determine if it should be backedup or not. So Im concerned that backups may not be done properly, or God knows what it will do with files from the future!
Im using WinXP SP3, the USB drive is a WD2500BEVS - 250GB with 4 partitions (largest is 120GB) all formatted as NTFS.
I would appreciate it if others would try this and post their results here so I would know whether to bug Linksys for a fix, or if I have problems elsewhere in my configuration.  Thank you.

    Well, 15 days, 40 views, 0 replies.
Could one kind sole, just one, please; startup Notepad, save an empty .txt file to the USB drive on the router, and then let me know if the file had the correct time stamp?
Preferably someone with a ver 1 router, firmware 1.00.03 B15, and running WinXP SP3.
    Thanks in advance.

Can it be that MARS is set to EST and that the firewall is set to GMT.

  • Time stamp table in fi?

You can get the global settings with respect to FI data source time stamps in BWOM_SETTINGS and BWOM2_TIMEST table at ECC system side.

  • Imported iPhoto library -- Aperture set time stamp for each picture 5 hours

Very annoying and bizarre -- I imported thousands of pictures, from 3 or 4 different cameras, and all of them have the time stamp 5 hours too early. I'm not worried about time zones, etc. -- even where the camera, computer and file resides in Chicago, and are set to Chicago time, a photo that was taken at 3 PM CST, and says so in iPhoto, says that it was taken at 10 AM CST in Aperture. Is there any easy way to fix this for all of the pictures?

    Hi Sharon,
There is a way to make a change to the date of all pictures. Select all the pictures that need adjustment, then go to the "Metadata | Adjust Date and Time" function. Aperture will show the time of the first picture, and you can set that time to something else. Aperture determines the delta from current to new timestamp, and applies that same delta to all of the other pictures.
You are also probably wondering how that happened in the first place. I don't know for sure, but try to import some more pictures, and in the upper right "Import Settings", select "Time Zone" See if the time zones match CST.

  • Time stamp error, bug...

    Hi all,
I am currently doing a lot of work late at night and I've discovered a replicable, strange behaviour in the finder.
All files saved at or just after midnight have a time stamp of "Today 24:03" (example only).
    This should read: "Today 00:03".
Midnight in the 24h clock is 00:00, and 11:59 (one minute to midnight) is 23:59, so the moment the date changes, time should start clicking UP from 00:00.
24:03,4,5 etc. simply does not exist, it's like saying 75minutes past 4 for example...
What's going on here? Is there a fix?
    cheers

    Hi Venkat,
The units of data stored inside the data warehouse are timestamped so that each unit of data in the data warehouse has some element of time associated with the record. The timestamping of data warehouse data signifies that the unit of data is accurate as of the timestamp. In general, there are two ways that a record is stored in the data warehouse: discretely or continuously. In a discrete record there is one instant in time for which the record is accurate. In a continuous record, there is a span of time for which the record is accurate. These records form a larger definition of information over time.
Using timestamps usually leaves a gap in time between the timestamp being logged and the transaction being updated, however. Hence, some documents
may be missed if they have not yet been committed to the database. To mitigate
this risk, SAP often uses a “safety delta” concept, setting back a user’s timestamp selection for a few hours to avoid missing late updates.
Time stamp error's occur in different situations.Depending on the situation we need solve the problem..
Some times you need to replicate the data source and activate the transfer rules...
If copa load fails you need to act differentlyand so on..
    Check these threads.

  • Encore 2.0's starting PTS (presentation time stamp) ?

    Greetings:
Could you please provide the starting PTS (presentation time stamp) in number of ticks based on a 27 MHZ clock?
(I own a subtitle extractor that computes different time stamp values and was told that the PTS was different for Encore 2.0.)
    Thanks,
    William Johnston

A sample text line is shown below:
    00:01:43:16&00:01:46:08#G:\DVD\Subtitle Extractor output\Cowboy Bebop Remix\images\extractor output\EXT_03_1_1\temp_1.bmp
I use OCR software to create text from the bitmap.
The 27Mhz clock was from a technical contact. The company name is authoringware.com.
As an aside, I purchased a program from authoringware that recomputes VOB files based on a new DTS value.
Hopefully, I can create timestamps that are the same as Encore's TextScript timestamps.
I am still researching the issue.

  • VOICE MEMOS and Wrong Time Stamps in Itunes

I've noticed that my voice memos in the new iTunes 11.1.3 (8) have incorrect time stamps all over them now. This is a real problem for me, since I need the dates that the messages were recorded. I just tested this out by recording a new one today (2/11/14) on my new Iphone 5s. It showed up dated 8/13/12 2:13pm. My phone has the correct date on it, so what gives?
    Any solutions out there?
Not to mention the fact that there are NUMEROUS DUPLICATES of previous memos that have become weird artifacts in my iTunes library each time I've backed up my materials. AND the new iTunes setup makes it incredibly hard to *actually remove data* from my system. I am concerned my private material is no longer private, but being archived elsewhere for meta-data purposes.
    C'mon, Apple. You're really slipping.

I see all timezones, have you tried setting the time/date manually? I'd do than, then pop an email to support.
