GPS "My Location" if OFF by about a Kilometer

I have installed Nokia Maps version 3.04 - 0.1.23.112 on my NOKIA E72. When I click on "my position" option GPS shows my location off by about 1 km some times one side and some times on the other side of my actual location on the map. Earlier I did not have any such problem and it located my position almost exactly on the map. I am not sure what is the problem? Can anybody tell me how can i fix this problem as I don't see any option in the program for calibration etc.

Provided that you have a generous data plan then accept the default values which are that the other four positioning methods apart from "Bluetooth GPS" are enabled.
I am assuming here that "Positioning server" network access point is correctly defined however.
If you experience any further issues, please post again.

Gps running when turned off

Well, I have an ipod shufle. Once I charged the battery (was successful charged - almost the light was green), I didn't use the ipod (remaining it turned off) for about 4 hours. Then, I tried to turn it on, and I saw the battery was totally empty.

My 8520 Upgraded to OS 6, now can't turn on GPS or Location. Poynt and other Aps were working and would find current location, but this stopped. The GPS and location options won't let me change them.

I strongly advise you to uninstall it. Who knows what is in your device right now ! a program to spy on you and track your conversation, a program that will log all your passwords, a program that will take pictures without you knowing, and so on.

yes that is to be expected, because the 8520 does not have a GPS antenna. The behavior you are stating is the same for all 8520 models in the world.

My GPS Coordinates are way off!

I life in the Northwest Arkansas area, however, my Palm Pre's gps has a habit of saying my current location is in Dallas, TX when I'm sitting at home? What's going on with this? I'm paying for an application that shows me my phone's current location from a website (in the event my phone is lost or stolen) however, it's no good if my phone is telling the application the wrong coordinates. I know it's not the application causing this because I looked on Google Maps, it said the exact same thing, that my location is in Dallas, TX. This happens periodically throughout the day. At times it will give the correct coordinates, then other times, I'm supposively in Dallas! What's going on here?

First off make sure GPS is indeed turned on. From the Location Services app, click the drop down menu at the top left, click Locate me using, make sure there is a check mark on GPS. Otherwise its not using GPS to locate you but rather your cell signal.
Second, if your sitting "at home" Gps needs a clear view of the sky, this applies to phones, standalone GPS, etc. If your inside you will not get an accurate reading.

Recently, I’m having intermittent problems using Google Maps on my Droid. When I’m having the problem and I launch Maps, my location is off by several streets. When driving, it doesn’t seem to track my location in real time. I have both “Use Wireless Networks” and “Use GPS satellites” checked in Settings/Location & security/My Location. If I uncheck “Use Wireless Networks” (force the Droid to use the GPS only) and use Maps/Menu/My Location, I get two messages “Waiting for location” and then “Your current location is temporarily unavailable” a few seconds later.
Usually Maps is VERY accurate. I see my exact location within Maps and it tracks my location in real time. This started happening intermittently a few weeks ago, perhaps with the Google Maps 4.3.0 upgrade or the previous upgrade.
Using Motorola Droid with Firmware version 2.1-update1 and Google Maps ver 4.3.0.

Some people have issues with GPS accuracy, such as showing your location 1000 feet or further away from your actual location, and this can be resolved by following these steps.
1. Download GPS Status from the market (it's free).
2. Make sure your GPS is turned on and open GPS Status.
3. Go to a location where you don't have magnetic devices around you (like electronics of any sort), such as outside (ideal) or room with minimal electronics nearby.
4. Hold your phone in your hand flat. Spin it around 3 times. After that, hold your phone on it's side, spin it around 3 times again. Finally, put your phone right side up (end on end) and spin it 3 more times. You can also do figure 8's, but the spins worked for me.
5. Go to Google Maps and see if your location is closer.

I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now.

My radio cuts off after about 5 min. It didn't do this until the last update. How do I fix this?

After the most recent upgrade on my IPhone I can no longer keep listening to my radio. It cuts off after about 5 min. I used to also be able to lock my screen and have my radio or music keep playing but now it shuts off when locking my phone. How do I fix this - it's very annoying to be running and have to stop every 5 min. to turn the **** radio back on.

Push the headphone jack in farther, the plasic on the headsit jack must be flush with the body of the Nano.

Unfortunatley, with location turned off it is impossible to locate it. Also if your IPod is dead or is not connected to wifi it will not give its location.

Without location services, there's no way the device can be tracked. It's location services that provide the device's location to any apps that need that info, including the Find My iPhone service. Sorry.

Location services off in Find My Friends

I've gone to every location in iOS 8.1 where location services can be turn on and it's on everywhere. But when I go into Find My Friends itself the "Me" line has in red "Location Services off. If I touch "Me" (ok, let's not be juvenile) it takes me to the "Me" settings where I have "Share My Location" slider indicating it's on, but it's 'greyed' out. I got rid of the six other iDevices in the list as they are either gone or iPads without the SIM card. My wife and family use this extensively to track one another on road trips of which we do many, often alone.

Oh yes, I am using a new iPhone 6 Plus running the latest iOS, 8.1. Love the phone. Not so thrilled with the settings being in six different places for the same thing.

My problem was as described by DavidHeady on 11-7-2014. In Find My Friends > Me, the Share Location slider was ON, but grayed out and unresponsive. Here's what it took to fix it on iPhone 6, current OS: Settings > General > Reset > RESET LOCATION AND PRIVACY. Both the Reset choice and Reset Location and Privacy are at the bottom of their respective pages (iOS 8.1.3). Of course you then have to go to all the appropriate places and enable Location Services, Share Location etc.

Try a system reset. It's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

QuickTime Pro for Windows cuts off after about a second?

Pro version of QuictTime worked fine at first on Vista 32bit. (Don't judge me becasue I'm using Vista, please!) Used it for video editing last fall. Now I find any video or audio file I try to play cuts off at about 1 minute. Only way to get it to play an entire movie is to turn on "Play All Frames" or else mess with playback speed -- and in both cases audio gets turned off. I have tried resetting just about every preference and view setting I can find. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Was especially careful to make sure I did not have playbe restricted by means of "Play Selection Only." Furthermore, teh start-stop bracketting controls have no effect.
This happens with all kind of video and audio tracks.
I am at a total loss. Searched Windows Registry for something amiss but found nothing. Even being a software developer myself I just don't see what is amiss. Could this be due to some nasty codec? Conflict with other software? Only new media software on this machine I know of is Adobe's and I never even use that.
Help?

BTW, after it crashed, I restarted QuickTime and opened the newly-created "self contained" movie and it seemed to play OK, So despite the inconvenience of having to restart, the crash didn't seem to affect the end product of my work.

N86 GPS won;t turn off with Ovi Maps 3.04

Ovi Maps 3.04 seems to have introduced a serious bug on the N86, in that after Maps has been run twice, the only way to turn off the GPS receiver and get rid of the GP icon is to switch off the phone.

Please can we have a fix for this urgently as it kills the phone's battery life - which is bad enough as it is.

I am experiencing this same problem with the GPS icon showing after exiting Ovi Maps 3.04 on my Nokia N86 8MP NAM version running the latest firmware 30.009. .
This problem doesn't happen on my daughter's 5230. So I know it is certainly a problem localized to the N86 8MP.
