GPS NOT FOLLOWING MY LOCATION

Hello fellow forumers,
Ive had my Iphone for about a year now and never really had problems with the GPS. Recently the little blue ball that usually follows me along the road does not EVER show up, all I get is a "crosshair" looking thing that shows my "general" location. Please help, desperatly need that feature. Thanks!

I checked my location services, its turned on...ive done numerous restores as well....it sometimes shows the blue ball but most of the time it does not. Ive tried all the different feature like walking, busing and driving. None show blue ball. So your saying im just connecting to cell towers but i havent changed anything. It should be still finding me via satelites..I dont get it. And my 3g is always on and working...

  • IPhone 6 location services/gps not working

Anyone else have an issue with iPhone 6 location services/gps not working? I have had it happen to me twice where it stopped working for good 7 or 8 hours and then all of sudden it starts working again. For example, directions don't work, every time I open Apple Maps it will say "Cannot determine location", then when I press the location icon on the bottom left, it will try to search again and have an approximate location but not exact, where as the iPad that I have right next to it is able to pin point the exact location. Sometimes the location circle is pulsing blue sometimes its gray. If I am driving and have tracking on it won't track, and so on.  I have tried to setup the phone as new without restoring the backup, when it stopped working with no luck, it still didn't work. I went and restore it back from backup and few hours later it started to work again. This has happened twice now since I got the phone last Friday.

Check your "Privacy" settings on your iPhone see what apps are using your location.

This is the Photoshop Elements forum, not the Premiere Elements forum, located here:

When you open the project, it should ask you where the first file is located. After you tell it where it is, it should be able to find the rest of them if they are located near the first one.  Then save the file.  If you move the files again, you will have to relink them again.

  • Since upgrading to iOS 8.3 the maps apps on my ipad do not show current location from my gps

Since upgrading to iOS 8.3 the maps apps on my ipad do not show current location from my gps DUALXGPS150A
The data is still being received by the ipad but not appearing on any of the maps.
Everything was working fine before the upgrade.

    Hi davidisleta,
If you are having issues with your iPad not showing location information, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

  • URGENT! icloud not telling MPB location?

I received an email notification that my stolen macbook pro was locked today (as I requested) when it connected to wifi.  however iCloud is not showing a location for it.  It's supposed to show the 'last' location but it's only telling me how long ago it was on-line.  How can I find the location? THANKS! if anyone has info

    Hi jefffromtoronto,
I'm sorry to hear about your stolen MacBook Pro. For devices that do not have built in GPS and cellular capabilities (for example, Mac laptops, as opposed to iPhones), location data is assembled from third-party sourced network data, and may not be available at all times and in all locations. For more information, you may find the following article helpful:
Note:   Maps and location information depend on data collection services provided by third parties. These services are subject to change and may not be available in all geographic areas, resulting in inaccurate or incomplete maps or location information.

  • I am having trouble re insalling itunes i get the message "Could not access network location %APPDATA%|.

Help  can't install or uninstall itunes keep getting the message " could not access network location %APPDATA%\, "

    And follow this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
Apple moved some drivers for 64-bit now to where they should have been.
Quicktime also use to place files outside the norm.
One of the reasons I recommend when it comes to Apple:
Wait for the ".1" and always use the uninstaller first and then install.
That means you may want manual standalone installer instead - and that way you have 10.4.1 in case you need to later downgrade.

  • When i try to install i tunes it goes so far down the installation process then i get a message ' could not access network location %APPDATA%\.  Can any one help.

When i try to install i tunes, it goes so far down the installation process and then comes up with a message ' could not access network location %APPDATA%\.  I then retry and it comes up with the same message.
It also tells me i tunes needs 'Quick Time' to support the software.  I have downloaded Quicktime from i tunes seperately and gone through the whole process again, only to get the same message.
    Can anyone please help?

These kind of messages can often be cleared by using the Microsoft Installer cleanup Utility.
Here is a method for cleanup of your old iTunes installation and reinstall.
    == uninstall with cleanup ==
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Save the files on your PC.
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program. The installer doesn't give any message to confirm the installation.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
(To run the program – All Programs>>Windows Install)
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista or Win 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

for Christmas this year, however; I'm having some trouble installing iTunes.
I have already downloaded iTunes, but installing seems to be the problem.
The 'iTunesSetup' icon appears on my desktop and I double-clicked it to begin the installing process.
When I do so, it says
"Gathering required information... Status: Computing Space Requirements"
after a few seconds it says, "Could not access network location %APPDATA%/."
As soon as I click 'retry' it says the same thing.
If I press cancel, the same message pops up and then it says,
    "iTunes Installer Completed
The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured.
Your system has not been modified To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.
Click exit to finish the installer"
I tried the help page for iTunes, but noting seemed helpful.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

  • Compass and gps not working correctly

pre-ordered my iphone4 on the 15 of June it arrived on the 24!The next morning, I tried to get my location on the map app and it could not produce my location. also the compass app is constantly telling me to wave the phone in a figure 8. Anyone else having this issue ?

Having the same flaky issue. 90-100 degrees off. It seems to only happen while in the interior of a vehicle, moving or not. Being that this is the most likely location one would use the compass telemetry of the phone, it should most certainly would have been designed to work in this environment. Stepping outside the vehicle seems to return the compass to normal and fairly accurate operation. I have used the built in compass functionality with several different GPS apps, both Apple original software and 3rd party software with the same unreliable performance. I too frequently get the 'figure-8' notification citing interference. I have performed the calibration several times outside the vehicle to no avail.
