GPS not picking up signal

I have been having a problem with the google maps and google navigation since monday 10/01/12. On google maps my location is off anywhere from 40 ft to 1.5 miles. I have contacted both verizon customer support and what I could get from google and have done all the suggestions, including a factory reset and installing other gps software from the google play store to no avail. A few of the technicians that I have talked to have also experienced gps problems including location verification being off and not finding a gps signal also. Please let me know if the is a problem with the network or if it's a problem with the phone. As it is I am unable to use the gps navigation to travel and it has become a hinderence.

I have tried all that, with gps test app, I left it on for 5 minutes and nothing. and my gps radio is always on.

Do you leave the GPS radio on all the time or turn it off when you aren't going to use for a while?
I leave mine on with my Tbolt and it usually locks on quickly. If it doesn't, then I make sure that I'm outside and open an application called GPS Test. I use this application to reset the Assisted GPS and to verify that the satellites are within range. The application will then lock my location within at most a couple of minutes and more like seconds.

What signal is it picking up? Are you joining wireless network? If so don't.. it is really poor way to run things.
Is it connected to a cable modem? Full router or just a modem type?
Try a reset?
Plug in via ethernet.. turn off everything.. wait 5min then restart cable modem.. if that doesn't work, give it a longer off cycle.. 15min or overnight.
We need more info.

GPS Not Picking Up Without Phone

I have been a happy SW3 user for the past 5 months. My watch has mostly worked as promised, including the standalone GPS which worked flawlessly with Runkeeper and Endomondo.
About two weeks ago, my GPS stopped working and it looked like I ran zero miles, despite the fact Runkeeper was logging the time. Also, the battery killed itself by the end of my short 30 minute run.
Shortly thereafter, I got a ping for the latest update to the Wear OS. I assumed that would clear up whatever was going on. The update didn't solve the GPS issue.
I deleted the Wear App from my phone, factory reset my watch, reinstalled my running apps, and still have the same issue with not being able to use the standalone GPS.
I changed the GPS settings in my phone per one of the suggestions on another thread. That didn't correct the issue. Any other suggestions?

I received my replacement watch from Sony and have the same issues that I had with the first one! Running with Runkeeper and then Endomondo, I was tracked as running 30 minutes for 0 miles. I downloaded "Wear GPS Status" app and it shows what satellites you would pick up. The phone is set to GPS only and it picks up 14 sats with the phone. I set the phone to airplane mode and my sats went away and I was left with 2 weak signals. I also set up developer mode and it couldn't get GPS at all. In the meantime, I turned off the location setting on the watch to preserve battery life and not mess with it. I contacted Sony Xperia tech support and they said they'd send me a 2nd replacement. At this time, I'm not sure a 3rd watch would fix the problem.

Netgear wireless adapter not picking up signal

I have a D-link DI-524 wireless router. Set up with WPA-PSK.
I have a Pismo 400 that came with an ethernet adapter Netgear 802.11b Wireless pc card.(16-bit PCMCIA Model MA401).
I thought, until recently, that it was operating off my router as does my PB with built in wireless. But I found out the signal it is picking up is from a neighbor's wireless network, not mine. I took the Pismo upstairs placing it next to my router and the network doesn't show as an option to join.

I found there was a firmware upgrade on the Dlink router, which I did.
I was able to connect after that but.......The firmware upgrade Dlink released on 8/16 now will not allow me to encrypt the router. After an hour with their very helpful tech support they realized that there was a problem.
Now I don't know what to do to protect the network.

Phone not picking up signal abroad

I am in US at the moment and my phone won't pick up a signal, I get the following error message 'your SIM card does not allow connection to the network' I have a EE contract about 6 weeks

Did you activate roaming before you left?
If no then you will have to call EE CS to activate unless you have owned the phone/contract for more than 6 months and then the option maybe available in you online account.

Passport not picking up signal

Hi everyone. I am looking at a passport on ebay. He is selling as parts because the phone doesnt pick up a signal for more than 5 seconds and then just shows "no network" after that. The seller said that he sent it back to blackberry and they sent it back to him without addressing the fault. Upon enquiry, blackberry sent him a brand new one which is why he is selling this one.Does anyone know if blackberry will fix this for mw once i purchase it?Many thanks

99% nope. For BB to deal with it, they would need to be dealing with the authorized warranty holder...which, unless the eBay seller is an authorized reseller, won't be you. (And, even if they are, they'd have to be your first source of warranty support, and they would be responsible for escalating the claim up to BB if needed.)
All in all, I recommend that you don't buy this, unless all you truly want are some spare parts...if you want a fully functioning BB device, then buy one in that condition. And if you want warranty coverage, buy through the properly authorized resale channels.

IPhone 5 will not pick up signal

I have an iPhone 5 which is approximately 1 year old. It was provided through my insurance after my original phone was smashed. I used the iPhone for around 10 months with no problems, however it then lost signal and would only work when connected to Wifi - other sim cards have been tried to no avail.
Can anyone advise on what the problem could be as I would like to have it fixed.

You didn't say what you're seeing in your status bar; "No signal?" "No service?"

WRT546 Wireless Adapter not picking up signal

We have 2 computers, one hard wired and the other wireless for the internet. The system has been working perfectly until we switched out the wireless computer for a new computer. Spent several hours on this and hours on the phone with Linksys. We had to install the wireless adapter and are thinking that this is where the problem lies. Are there any suggestions on the correct way or port to install the adapter? It looks like there is only one place to put it. Nothing in the User Guide shows how to install the wireless adapter.

may i know the model number of the router and wireless adapter? you have 2 computers right? 1desktop and 1laptop? or 2desktops? 2laptops?

Notebook not Picking up Signal

I am currently using the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband router. In the beginning, the first time I used my Toshiba notebook with it, it worked fine and I could access the internet. Now, I can't. What could be the problem? Is it because I've yet to configure the notebook? If so, how do I? Thank you.

Well try upgrading the firmware of the router & keep on holding tightly
the reset button in such a way that power light is blinking on the
router & then do a complete network power cycle i.e., unplug the power
cables from the modem & from the router & then plug in the power cable
to the modem first once all the lights are solid green you could plug
in the power cable to the router & check out it will definately work!!
I assume you are using windows XP operating System... So follow this steps ....
Uninstall the drivers for the Adapter from start >> All programs ....

Airport card not picking up any signals after IP configuration changed

Just had cable internet installed in my apartment, and in the course of setting up the IP configuration for the built-in ethernet connection, my airport card has stopped recognizing wireless networks in my building. Before I changed these settings, the card was working, and there are several networks in the building that it recognized. Now, it recognizes none. The menu appears in the top bar, and I can turn the airport on and off, but it simply is not picking up any signals whatsoever.
I have tried a handful of tactics, including changing the Airport TCP/IP configuration in several different ways, rebooting several times, and even removing and reinserting the Airport card.
For info: I'm using an iBook G3 with OS 10.2.8. (I know, pretty old, but it's still chugging along...)
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure. What's strange is that the very same computer was picking up signals (not accessing them b/c they were all password protected), recognizing networks in the area at least, before I played with the other IP configuration settings. Now it picks up none. It shows that there are none in the area, even though I know that there are.
Also, often, when I click on the Airport icon in the menu bar, the computer hangs for up to a minute before the menu actually pops up.
I have an Airport Express unit that I have hooked up to the cable modem, and my Airport card won't even recognize that signal. I'm just not sure what I changed that made it go haywire. I've been using this computer on wireless networks for the entire time I've owned it. Never had this problem before yesterday.

*BOOT CAMP* Windows XP not picking up wireless signal on Lion

I just got a new iMac two days ago and was able to install Windows XP from my old Dell Latitude boot disk. Yes, I thought it was odd... But it worked. I do understand that Lion only provides Windows 7 drivers in Boot Camp Assistant, but I was able to install Boot Camp 3.0 and 3.1 drivers for XP, right from the Apple Support Boot Camp driver link.
Well... My main issue lies here... When I switch to the XP side, it wont pick up a wireless signal. That's all I need so that I can start updating Windows from the internet, but it is not picking anything up.
I'm assuming that I am just missing the driver, but like I said, I installed the drivers provided by Apple. This is very frustrating and am not sure what to do.
Can someone PLEASE point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

This appears to be a problem with some of the newest MacBooks. There are several posts on this issue. It is possible that, as you seem to have noticed, switching to an NTFS formatted partition will solve the problem. See e.g. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5947955&#5947955

Try resseting the network settings in settings>general then go to reset a the bottom.
Then reset NETWORK settings.

I have a 2007 iMac that can barely see my Base Station 4 feet away, an older eMac 7 feet away sees it great!
