GPS Not Picking Up Without Phone

I have been a happy SW3 user for the past 5 months. My watch has mostly worked as promised, including the standalone GPS which worked flawlessly with Runkeeper and Endomondo.
About two weeks ago, my GPS stopped working and it looked like I ran zero miles, despite the fact Runkeeper was logging the time. Also, the battery killed itself by the end of my short 30 minute run.
Shortly thereafter, I got a ping for the latest update to the Wear OS. I assumed that would clear up whatever was going on. The update didn't solve the GPS issue.
I deleted the Wear App from my phone, factory reset my watch, reinstalled my running apps, and still have the same issue with not being able to use the standalone GPS.
I changed the GPS settings in my phone per one of the suggestions on another thread. That didn't correct the issue. Any other suggestions?

I received my replacement watch from Sony and have the same issues that I had with the first one! Running with Runkeeper and then Endomondo, I was tracked as running 30 minutes for 0 miles. I downloaded "Wear GPS Status" app and it shows what satellites you would pick up. The phone is set to GPS only and it picks up 14 sats with the phone. I set the phone to airplane mode and my sats went away and I was left with 2 weak signals. I also set up developer mode and it couldn't get GPS at all. In the meantime, I turned off the location setting on the watch to preserve battery life and not mess with it.  I contacted Sony Xperia tech support and they said they'd send me a 2nd replacement. At this time, I'm not sure a 3rd watch would fix the problem.

    I have been having a problem with the google maps and google navigation since monday 10/01/12.  On google maps my location is off anywhere from 40 ft to 1.5 miles.  I have contacted both verizon customer support and what I could get from google and have done all the suggestions, including a factory reset and installing other gps software from the google play store to no avail.  A few of the technicians that I have talked to have also experienced gps problems including location verification being off and not finding a gps signal also.  Please let me know if the is a problem with the network or if it's a problem with the phone.  As it is I am unable to use the gps navigation to travel and it has become a hinderence. 

    I have tried all that, with gps test app, I left it on for 5 minutes and nothing.  and my gps radio is always on.

    Do you leave the GPS radio on all the time or turn it off when you aren't going to use for a while?
    I leave mine on with my Tbolt and it usually locks on quickly. If it doesn't, then I make sure that I'm outside and open an application called GPS Test. I use this application to reset the Assisted GPS and to verify that the satellites are within range. The application will then lock my location within at most a couple of minutes and more like seconds.

    if someone deletes icloud or even if you wipe phone it is not traceable anymore.

  • Payment advices not picking accounting clerk phone number and fax number.

    Hi,
       We have executed payment program and payment advices got generated. But in the output it is printing everthing i.e accounting clerk name, vendor number and amount. But it is not filling the accounting clerk phone number and fax number even though we have maintained it in our customized transaction code. Will this values in the payment advices will be picked up from standard t.code OB05, there we don't have option to give these two values.
    Can anyboday help me on this.

    goto accunt groups with screen layout,
    after creating the group or existing group, double click on account management, in payment transactions make the required fields are required.

  • HT4061 i updated iphone 4 with the software update ios7. i cannot get phone to restore i am stuck with a black screen or a screen with the apple ico that disapears and then the icon of itunes and the usb icon.  Itunes is not picking up my phone to even re

    cannot restore phone since update.  I tried to upload to itunes but itunes isnt picking it up. Phone is frozen with Itunes icon and the usb cord.  I tried some suggestions posted but it is still not restoring does anyone know how this can be fixed???

    Connect your USB cable to your computer but not to the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until step 3.
    Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
    While pressing and holding the Home button down, connect the USB cable to the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. The device should turn on.
    Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen. When this screen appears, you can release the Home button:
    Note: If the image of a battery appears, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again. If you don't see the Connect to iTunes screen, try these steps 1 through 4 again.
    iTunes should automatically open and display the following message:
    "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."Note: If iTunes not open after two minutes, please open iTunes yourself.
    Use iTunes to restore the device.

    Actually the correct procedure to follow is detailed by Apple in the Support article linked above:

    When purchasing an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from someone other than Apple or an authorized Apple reseller, it is up to you to ensure that the device has been erased and is no longer linked to the previous owner’s account.
    Follow each of these steps to make sure that you can use the device you purchase:
    Turn the device on and slide to unlock.If the passcode lock screen or the home screen appears, the device has not been erased. Ask the seller to completely erase the device by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Do not take ownership of any used iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until it has been erased.
    Begin the device setup process.After choosing a language, choosing a country, and connecting to a network, the device will begin activation. If you are asked for the previous owner’s Apple ID and password, the device is still linked to their account. Hand the device back to the seller and ask them to enter their password. If the previous owner is not present, they can remove the device from their account by signing in to icloud.com/find. Do not take ownership of any used iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch until it has been removed from the previous owner’s account.
    You will know that a device is ready for you to use when you are asked to “Set up your iPhone", “Set up your iPad", or “Set up your iPod” during the device setup process.

  • Wi Fi Connection and phone picks up without ringing

    Has anyone had a problem with the phone simply picking up without ringing or pressing the green answer button?  This only happens when I am connected through my home wireless connection in an area where there is no other cell service (in Vermont).  It is as if the phone thinks that the wifi will act like the bluetooth car phone connection.  Strangely, the ring tone works and the phone does not answer itself when the connection is to a cell tower.  Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

    You would need access to either your own home wifi service if you have it (or someone elses that you are authorized to use) or free (or rented) wifi service when at hotspot areas (such as McDonald's, Hotels, etc).

  • Note 3 lollipop update 5.0 erased my sd card. Phone does not pick it up as if no sd card is available.

    Unfortunately you are not alone.  While I got through without problem, other users of Samsung phones have reported the same problem.
    reformatting sometimes fixes the card, but anything stored on it is gone.
    a Bit late, but the recommendation is to remove an SD card before updating.

    the iphone never really picked up wi fi when it was used as a phone and it didnt really matter because he had unlimited internet but it still wont go on wi fi. does any one know why it is doing this?
    The iphone works fine other wise i just really want it to go on wi fi. We just got new wi fi too and all of our other apple products go on the wi fi just fine. I dont know if its because its newer or what but my brothers 1st gen ipod goes on wi fi just fine.

  • HT1386 Ever since updating my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.3, it refuses to sync and will not pick a song while trying to listen to music on my phone?

    So, I thought it was great that apple came out with a new update to fix the bugs of iOS7, however it seems that it created more problematic bugs...
    My iTunes is updated to the latest version, as is my iPhone. No matter how many times I plug it in to the computer it absolutely will not sync new music onto my phone. It says it is syncing, but in reality nothing on my phone has changed. No new music, nothing.
    I have turned my computer on/off as well as my phone.
    Also, no matter what it will not pick a song when I am 'trying' to listen to music on my phone. It just swipes through them all super fast and never stops! Why?!
    Today, I updated my iPhone to iOS 7.0.4 and it didn't fix the issues.
    Is there a way to fix this, or do I just have to wait until Apple comes out with a new update to fix it??

    I have a very similar problem in Arizona, USA. Virgin Mobile is my carrier. Early in October, the phone seems to have lost it's 3G ability and is exceedingly hesitant to connect to any WiFi networks other than my home WiFi. I've spent countless hours on the phone with my service provider and they have escalated my problem to a higher tier tech group that is looking at the problem now. I've also called AppleCare to ask if I could revert to iOS 6 and was informed that Apple products, once and update has been added, are unable to revert or move backwards. AppleCare said they would like to just exchange my phone for a new one but I am 50 days outside the 1 year limited manufacturer warranty period. Virgin, of course, will not replace the phone for me despite this being a network problem. The responsibility of which should fall on their shoulders. My side of the contract is to pay and pay on time which I have always done. Their side is to provide the services promised at time of purchase and they have dropped the ball. Hope someone out there has an awesome suggestion that doesn't involve going into iTunes and tweaking it or jailbreaking the phone. Until then....namaste.

    Is it a 5ghz router?
    If so, iPhones only support the 2.4ghz Wireless b/g/n band.

    Phone was given to me by apple 2 weeks ago. Last I saw of it working was phone was off so i did the quick reset. Apple logo came up, it started up and keypad for passcode came up. It said 2% battery then went up to 64% a second later. When I was playing wth it not 5mins before it was at 65% so would make sence that later indication was correct. Before I could type the 4 digit passcode in the phone turned off to black screen. Now I have tried all possible reset options incuding the 10 second hold down of both buttons for less than 10 seconds and longer than 10 seconds. Nothing is working. iTunes is not recognising the device at all. Ive had it plugged into a wall socket for three hours and the computer for 2 hours and no signal of life. Ive tried the forums on here and the youtube vidoes and seem to know what im doing with resets. Anyone able to shed some light?

    Not being able to get DFU Mode indicates hardware failure. Since you recently received this iPhone from Apple it has at a minimum 90 day Warranty. Make Genius reservation or make service arrangements and take or send to Apple for resolution. Regarding what is actually wrong with the iPhone, it could be possibility of several things. But some of the features point directly to battery. First step in fixing this iPhone would be battery replacement. Then trouble-shooting from there if still problem. Take it to Apple.
