GPS on Nokia N85 in English

I'm currently living in Israel and have a Nokia N85 which has GPS in Hebrew. Can anybody tell me how I get GPS in English. It is possible because I have had it in the past but can't work it out now. I have to drive alone to Jerusalem tomorrow and need to know before then if possible.

Do you mean the Voice Guidance or the actual text? For the text, you need to set your phone language to English. For voice guidance, go to Maps>Settings (the wrench/spanner icon)>Navigation>Drive/Walk Navigation>Select English

Problem with GPS on Nokia Ovi Maps

Hello everybody! I have a problem with GPS on my Nokia E90. Please can anybody help me with this problem. When i try to find my location using GPS with Nokia Ovi Maps the program show me a table like in the picture, but if i use Google Map the GPS work fine.

Some days ago i just format my mobile but till now the GPS on Nokia Ovi Maps wokrs fine. I just don't know why after i format my mobile the Ovi shows me this message.
When i go to Menu -> GPS -> GPS Data -> Navigation -> Options -> Satellite status, my phone shows me this mesage:
1-st image is when i am inside of my room and
2-nd image is when i am outside of my room.
Can you tell me what does this message mean???

New firmware for nokia N85

Hello. I would like if you were lazy people from Nokia have made a new firmware for Nokia N85.
It is a shame that for some older models released new firmware. But even so it is only a few cell models of Nokia's touch-type screen.
Shame on Nokia. Wake up in the centrale and start finally doing something for people.

Help please problem with nokia n85

after updating the nokia n85 to v30.019
the speaker icon of the music folder disspeard in the menu
and even the icon of utilities folder disspeard
how can i restore the icons
i've tried the hard reset and it didn't work ?!

do a back up and reinstall firmware without memory card in your phone. right after the update use code #2 from the list below.
1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list. The default code for ALL operations listed here is 12345
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone (out of the box, tho keep in mind that most newer nokia phones at least n series, e series and s60 based phones have udp - user data preservation so not ALL data may be lost. still it is a good idea to always do a back up of your stuff.)
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is not showing any activity, proceed with hard formatting , turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
hard reset - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons ( for Nokia 5800XM - use the following buttons to do a hard reset, GREEN/RED/CAMERA keys pressed all at once on power up. this will only work on 5800's that have firmware version 20... and up. ) For Nokia N97 (unofficial version but works) is SHIFT /SPACE BAR / BACKSPACE while holding the power button. Again do not let go until you see the handshake screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service for assistance.

Nokia N85 - Images in Gallery sometimes are blurre...

In my Nokia N85, images in Gallery sometimes are blurred, out of fucus and some are broken. I have no idea how to fix this. Can anyone help, please?

and what's about the broken photos?
i have bee in a vacation for a week and i took 150-200 photos with my N85 bot when i came back home and looked in the photo gallery - i saw that almost all of the pictures i got - are broken (bad file- briken photo symbol).
so i took out the memory stick and checked if there is dust or something inside the phone but it was ok.
when i had the memory stick back in - i saw that all the pictures that were broken - are now gone... and i cant see them in the gallery or in the folder manager / explorer...
what can i do? i really need those pictures...

Can I bar a phone number from my Orange Nokia n85?

I have a woman harassing my friend, she wants to stop her from calling without changing her number. Is there a way I can do this on the n85 with out having to change my number?

Yes there are a few applications out there that have a "blacklist" feature which blocks incoming calls from certain numbers.

Keypad not working on Nokia N85

I have the nokia n85 and the 0 key and the volume keys don't appear to work.
I have to press the 0 key very hard to get it to work
Will i require the device to be repaired
If so will it be an economical repair

Cant open Games in Nokia N85

Hi!
I cant open the Games meny in my Nokia N85. Does anyone knows why? How do I reach the preinstalled games?

The games are not made by Nokia, but from a lot of different developers.
If a developer does not make a game for the phone, it's not much Nokia can do about it, except pay them lots of cash, and force them .. But I hardly think that would help.
Unfortunately games that needs a GPU will not be able to work on a device that lack one.
You can hardly complain to a manufacturer of graphics card that they should have informed the customers that they could not play Crysis on a card made for mostly office use.
Its not the manufacturer of the card that made a game that makes graphics card cry. It's the gamedevelopers in this example
And Nokia can't help that some developers chooses to create games that can only run on certain hardware, or OS
in this case you have to ask the developers why they dont release some products for some devices.

Nokia N85 Flash Lite

I have a Nokia N85 and i want to install Flash Lite. Were can i find Flash to my phone?
I talked with Nokia Care and they says that there is a new uppdate to my flash lite available. But i can´t find it!
I also tried to update my N85 with Nokia software updater, but i always get this massage "Connected was not recognized" when i want to update my N85.
Can somebody help me please?

NOKIA N85 NOT VISIBLE DURING SUNLIGHT

i have a nokia n85 smartphone. During sunlight, it is difficult to see anything. i put the light sensor to maximum but no result. can any one help me solve this?

sorry, but it's a common issue, nokia's n85 and n86 are performing poorly in direct sunlight, that's just the way oled goes. altough the technology was designed for better clarity and contrast, it lacks on readability under strong lightning. the best thing you can do is set your phone on either a really darkish theme, or on a really bright one, it might help. however, there is a version of the n85 shipped since june 2009, which seems to comport better on direct sunlight. is that the one you have? if not, you might consider it.

Nokia N85 screen completely black

Hello. I recently bought a nokia n85 off ebay, it works fine except for the menu button and the screen is completely black, not even the screen backlight turns on. All of the components are properly inserted, but problem still persists. I have connected the phone to the TV using TV-out cable and the phone is working properly. All i want to know is it an LCD problem or a flex cable problem? I can't tell by myself.

It's not any easier for us to tell either and since we cannot discuss disasembling here you will have to search for help some where else on a unofficial forum.
What I can suggest is that you drop by a Nokia care point and ask if they can have a look at it.

NOKIA N85 FIRMWARE UPDATE

Hi I wanna to update my nokia N85 to the latest version. but after downloading the firmware, it could not make the update. it starts updating but it will not complete. rather it will restart the phone and displays ' phone is not compatible with the software'.
i am confused b/c when i search for update, it says there is newer version.
can some one help me please?

i prefer you to update your via FOTA. type in *#0000# on the home screen or go to Device Manager. Select Options > Check for updates and follow the on screen prompts.

i just bought my Nokia N85, and its current device software version is 20.175,
i checked the latest deveice software vesion for N85 is 30.019....
but, when i key *#0000# into my phone's home screen and select Options > Check for updates, it showed no update available!

Nokia N85 unable to connect to Ovi Suite

I am unable to connect my nokia n85 through usb for Ovi suite and also the Nokia Download program. Whenever i connect the cable, it tells me
"your device is in file transfer connection mode and cannot be used with NOkia Ovi Suite. Quit file tranfer mode from the device if you want to use the device with Nokia Ovi Suite"
The problem is i have no idea how to do this, and whenever i connect my usb cable my phone asks me which type of transfer method and i always select pc suite, so it shouldnt give me this error.

plese help me for fixing this issue: Mine is nokia n85 smart phone. After installing ovi suite in my PC with windows 7, and updating all the software from nokia support, I am unable to connect my mobile to ovi suite through USB.
