GPS proplem with the firmware v12.0.013

I update my n95 with nokia software updater from v11 to v12,
with v11 the mobile with fully workin without any bug & i denied to update software for fear of any bug but i found accdentally the N.S updater & found them greating it in forums, anyway i download it then i try GPS ... it deticte Satillites but it does no calculate anything
any one know how to solve it or even how to redownload the old software but easy steps cause i only know N.S updater
&thought it secure way..
&thx

I've used my N95 with v10, v11, v12 and v20 firmware and GPS/Maps (in Europe, Asia and North America). v10 was the most unstable, v11 was mostly OK and with v12 the A-GPS really helped in getting the satellite lock quickly. Now I'm at v20 (just released).
If v20 doesn't help in your case, then I suspect that you might have broken hardware.

i tried updating my iphone 4s to the ios 7 but it said error with the firmware now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and i have no idea how to fix it any suggestions??

Try Restoring it 3 times in a row and see if that works.
If not that error can indicate one of two things: Your iPhone was at one time jailbroken, had the iOS version rolled back, or ran an unauthorized beta and if none of those things are true it is a hardware error.

  • Can the Ipod 4th and 5th generation be used as GPS? With the app Waze and under Wifi?

Can the Ipod 4th and 5th Generation be used as GPS? With the app Waze and under Wifi?

    Mini-education...
GPS signals are separate from and completely unrelated to both the Internet and the cellular telephone network.  GPS signals come directly from the GPS satellites.  They provide signals that allow GPS receivers to calculate latitude and longitude information.  Navigation software then takes that latitude/longitude info and converts it to land mass, roads, bridges, highways, buildings, etc.
Most navigation software stores the maps right in the iPad/iPod/iPhone but a disadvantage is that the maps must be periodically updated (perhaps once every two years).  The Internet is not required to use the system but it is required to update the maps.
Some navigation software gets the maps from the Internet and requires an Internet connection to function but an advantage is that the maps are always up-to-date.
The WiFi+3G/4G iPad and the iPhone both have a GPS receiver.  The WiFi-only iPad and the iPod do not and these devices require an accessory.

itunes showing 'backup is corrupt or not compatible with the firmware you restored'.Please help.

    Hi Ckuan,
Thanks a lot for your advice.
Deleting the correupted back up means to delete the information of one month since the last back up I made is one month ago.....right?
This back up I made right before I restored my iphone.  During the restore however my OS was upgraded to 5.1.1. and reading the comments on the internet it seems I am not the only one whom experience this problem.
Can it be that if I downgrade my OS back to 5.1. the back up will not be considered as corrupted?  If so, how do I downgrade the iphone?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Problem with the firmware update...

Now I have a new problem... I had the Xserve on my intranet so long that when I went to update it and plugged it into the Internet, there seems to be a firmware update. I started the update, and its supposed to come up with a status bar, but so far nothing. It's been 4 hours, and the screen is not getting a signal. I'm afraid that if I turn the system off and the system is actually upgrading the firmware that will mess up the system royally. I'm going to leave it for the next 24 hours, but if it's still sitting there chugging away with the blank screen, I'm going to have to turn it off.
Have any of you seen this problem? I may try and reset the firmware. I never had these problems until now... it's starting to get aggravating...

Clearly I have to answer my own questions in the server forums...
For anyone who may end up with a similar issue and finds this. Your firmware update probably didn't work correctly, download the Apple Firmware Restoration CD. Make sure you find the correct version for your computer, like my version was 1.4.

  • Why Wont GPS Work with the Nokie 5530 + Nokia LD-4...

Ok, ive played around with all the settings, etc. The only lights being displayed on the ld-4w gps module are the green light and the blue light. the gps light is not turning on. it is all paired with the nokie 5530 phone.
Ovi maps is installed, all the firmwire is updated.
When i start the application 'Location' (the one thats included with the phone), it says searching for GPS devices. Then it says 'Waiting for gps', then (nearly instantly) it shows 'GPS Not Availible' and exits. After that it displays 'No Connection'.
I have tried by going into my back garden and doing this but it still does not work.
However, when I use ovi maps and type in a route, it displays 'Waiting for GPS' for a  long time, then it does not connect either, but then it also asks for an internet connection, which i dont have as i dont have any credit on my phone, and i also dont have wireless internet.
If this is the problem, then why doesent the gps light on my ld-4w even blink?
Please help, i need this GPS module up and running before my sisters birthday party lol (17th april)....so please help..its urgent!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Woohoo!! I finally got this working...what I did was I held the power button down for about 10 seconds until the lights alternated between green and red, and then i turned it back on again. Then while holding the power button down, i plugged it in the charger.
Then i turned it back on again, and paired it with the 5530xm again, and it showed waiting for gps for about 5 mins, then it displayed some co-ordinates! Then i started ovi maps then it showed my location!
Yeeeaaaahh!! it finally works!! Looks like it wasent nokias fault after all!!

  • GPS phototagging with the Song GPS-CS1 on PPC

I want to add GPS data to my digital photographs. I was thinking of using the Sony GPS-CS1 with HoudahGeo. However, I've read that there seems to be a bug which means PPC machines can't recognise the Sony device, whereas Intel Macs can.
Does anyone know if this bug has been fixed. Or can they recommend an alternative GPS logger which is available in the UK.
    Many thanks.

I am using the GPS-CS1 and the HoudahGeo/GPS software on my Intel Macbook Pro and it seems to work fine, but I no longer have a PPC machine to test or verify with.

  • When does Apple confirm their problem with the firmware 1.1 on 5g ipods???

I'm really frunstrated about the unwillingness from apple support to address/confirm the issue around firmware 1.1 on 5g ipods.
I spent hours to talk to support and explain varios tests I did on that subjetct, but apple keeps saying: It's not our problem!
Shame on apple! I really thaught apple is different, but it turns out, that between shareholder value und marketing campaines there's no space for customer care....
Did somone suffering with the same issue (video freezes after 30 sec and continues without sound) got any better answer from apple?
What information does apple need to confirm it's apple's problem?
    Regards, netwho
    PowerBook 12"   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I have bought my 30GB iPod Video just 3days ago, and it tried to upgrade the ipod updater to 1.1.
I have updated my ipod without a problem. And I had also updated to latest version of iTunes.
Itunes had given error few times and closed itself while optimizing photos before transfering them to ipod. I have sorted out that it was due to my photo folder being over 2GB's, than started importing them in smaller portions by adding a new folder each time. Afterwords, photos and pictures copied to iPod without problems.(but i have to add, i have received a nonsense error like 'itunes cant write to folder or something)
After a bit of dazzling and struggling i was able to play videos and music as well. But after few seconds iPod screen frozen and i wasnt able to do anything. I have reboot it, and tried to change songs, and after few songs, the screen frozen again, wheel was not functioning but funny part, music was still playing. I got online and checked the forums and seen other people having those problems after upgrading to new firmware. I have uninstalled the 1.1 firmware and installed the one on CD, and I have also downgraded my version of iTunes as well. Now things seems to work all fine.
I just don't get why apple withdraws this buggy problametic version of firmware, they will drive more users go mad and not every computer/iPod user would figure out why it happened themselves...
One more thing I have to add. Why I am also having hard to understand why each version of iTunes started consuming unbelievedable amount of RAM on computer. I have 1.4Mhz centrino with 512 RAM, and the sound distorts(slows down) over iTunes when start copying files from DVD. Or it cause errors and shutdowns 'on optimizing photos' stage on iTunes when i try to copy photos to my iPod. I don't think 1.4Mhz and 512mb ram shall be called as low resource simply to use iTunes. They really need to retest, debug and optimize their software. And immediately, remove that 1.1 firmware from apple.com until they resolve the bugs and error inside it.

  • IPhone SDK - post bugs and problems with the Firmware...

So far I'm noticing issues with the 2.0(5A225c) build of the OS.
Everything is much slower than it used to be for one. I have a simple UIViewController with a table with only 9 text elements. It doesn't even fill the screen and it scrolls like a snail. My app runs so slow, but I can't tell if it's a performance issue in my app, or a debug firmware. Even the slider to unlock is slow and so is scrolling in all OS menus.
I also noticed in Contacts that the fast slider on the right appears but does not respond to touches. So much for actually using my phone for the next few months. I hope they fix some of this stuff soon.
    Anyone else noticing issues?

What a relief! I can also confirm that this build is very slow. I am writing a game called Trism (www.demiforce.com for info) which makes use of layered UIImageViews for the game pieces, scoring, borders, and so on. When beta 2 arrived, I got really disheartened because suddenly everything was moving much more slowly. I initially thought the slowdown was because of some fault in my code, which led me to learn some lower-level CoreAnimation and Quartz stuff, which has got the speed back around where it was originally.
We can only hope the slowdown is due to new features of the OS needing to be tightened up a bit, and not as a sign of things to come. Nevertheless, I encourage other developers out there to take a look at using different implementations if need be. Specifically, if your views or text labels don't require the heavy animatable features of the UIView class, try taking a look at using the lower-level CALayer class and see if that helps your performance.

  • GPS trouble with the E66

I have had a problem with the GPS on my phone for 6 months, I hardly use it except for long drives which I don't know especially well... But in those instances and especially so when I'm going into town/city centres which I don't know well it is invaluable.
The GPS had been working fine for ages and then for no reason one day it stopped. No explanation. I can still get maps to load up it just cannot locate my position using the GPS. Equally I can still load Google maps up on my phone which can locate me using GPS.
So I know the GPS is working and Nokia Maps is working, they're just not working with each other and I cannot figure out why. It's infuriating, I have one maps provider (google) which knows where I am but has no navigation software and one maps provider (nokia) which doesn't have a clue where I am but could direct me if it did.
I took it to my local Vodafone store and they were fairly useless. Any of you guys got any ideas? Im not the most technical guy in the world but I can direct myself round a phones settings menu if told where to look.

I'm willing to be there is a setting somewhere where it maybe says something like allow this application to use GPS? But if such a setting existed I wouldn't have changed it in the first place and if such a setting does exist why the hell can't I find it now?
Your guess probably isn't far from the truth, but it's more likely a corrupt Nokia Maps file somewhere, causing the same result.
You would typically back up your data with Nokia Suite (Windows).  Visit the Support link at http://nokia.com .  Look through the menus and the process should be very straightforward.  For Mac and other OS's, it's likely a bit harder.
There may be a Factory Settings option in the Settings, or type *#7370# , default password 12345.  I believe they're the same thing.  Test Nokia Maps before restoring any data.  Good luck!

  • WRT1900AC: iTunes Sync still a problem with the firmware 1.1.8.164461

So i *thought* the new firmware 1.1.8.164461 may have resolved the itunes sync problem, but it has not.  I have a Windows 8 PC, with iTunes 12.0.1.26 connected to a LAN port.  An iphone 5 w/ IOS 8.1.2 on the 5 GHz network.  Sometimes itunes can see the phone but it's unable to locate it while making a sync.  Or the phone can see my computer and the option is available to sync but nothing happens.  I have found that a power cycle of the router seems to resolve the issue.  I have noticed a perfomance boost with the 2.4Ghz network over the previous firmware.  I am so frustrated with this router I hope santa drops by with an ASUS in a couple weeks!

3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

  • Been having proplems with the facebook since I upgraded the Firefox 4 from beta to the full version, Can you help?

Facebook search bar and the videos doesn't work with the new version of Firefox and the lists just directs to another page instead of poping up, for example the notifications list just jumps to the notifications page instead of showing them in a tab list.

cor-el, thank you for your reply.
I tried disabling all add-ons and resetting all user preferences but it didn't fix the problem. So I tried your second recommendation. And when I booted Firefox with the new Profile everything was OK. I added my add-ons and they worked great. The only problem was that if I closed Firefox the new profile I created disappeared. The old, corrupt profile was still there but the new one wasn't. In the end I even deleted the old, default profile. This only made the matter worse. Every newely created profile would still disapeare if I closed Firefox and without a profile Firefox wouldn't start, saying that it is already running in the background and that I should stop the process or reboot my PC. Needless to say there was no firefox.exe process running in the background and even rebooting wouldn't make Firefox start. Well not knowing what to do next I did a compete uninstall of Firefox, rebooted my PC and installed a fresh copy of Firefox 3.6.9. I imported my bookmarks and added my add-ons and (for now) everything works as it should.
Thank you again for your effort.
