GPS Reciever for 6303

Are there any other GPS receivers compatible with the 6303. I know that the LD-4w is the one that Nokia sells, but unfortunately nowhere has it anymore apart from amazon at £150.
I see there is a LD-3w, but it doesnt list 6303 as compatible
If anyone has got any other device to work with the 6303 please let me know ?

Yes it does.

  • Is there a turn by turn sofware or a GPS reciever for a macbook pro?

I am interesting in upgrading my pc laptop to a macbook pro.  I currently use microsoft streets and trips off my laptop to use GSP Turn by Turn navigation.  Can i do this on a macbook?

I agree with the Google Map with internet connection.
Alternatively, you can consider USB GPS receiver with offline map applications. Since most of the USB GPS receiver does come with their own app (which may cause a bit more for updated maps like most of the GPS receivers on the market.)
Other than that, I recommend a real GPS receiver or iPhone/iPad.

  • Navigation Licence for 6303

    Hi.
I've got a 6303 and a Siraya bluetooth gps reciever (a tenner from Expansys... hehe) and want to enable the navigational abilities of the built-in maps, however when I tried to buy a licence I had to say which phone it's for and the 6303 isn't listed at all   Has anyone done this on their 6303 yet and if so how?
    Cheers,
       Kev.

Well, I've used the voice navigation   I got my free trial using the shortcuts on the phone though unfortunately only got 3 days instead of 7, possibly that's since the introduction of Ovi Maps instead of Nokia Maps (mine are Ovi)
All works well though I must admit that the majority of routes it plots are neither the quickest nor the shortest, which, if you look at the map it's showing, are blatantly obvious. BUT... at the end of the day I have to remember that it is only a 'mere' S40 midrange phone and bearing that in mind I'm more than happy with it. The majority of the time I'd be using a dedicated satnav anyway but this is very handy for those days when you've left the satnav at home (quite often.. haha)
I just need to find a retailer that is discounting the Navigation Licences as I feel the limitations of the phone don't really justify the yearly fee that Nokia are asking on their site.
More than happy with my 6303, maybe the the camera software compresses the images a little too much, which is a shame for a 3.2mp camera, but again I have to remember IT'S A PHONE... hehe
    Kev.

  • IPhone as GPS receiver for Wi-Fi iPad

As you sadly know there is no such feature, the iphone hotspot provides ONLY internet.
    what other options are available?
    1. buy BT GPS receiver in addition? which one is best?
    2. Apps?
Please share and let me know how did you overcome this.
[it's really annoying that apple couldn't overcome this and develop location service sharing between idevices (when using personal hotspot)]

One solution is a Bad Elf GPS receiver for iPad - http://bad-elf.com/
They've been making external GPS receivers for iOS devices for several years, and have some good online reviews.  They make BT devices as well as devices to connect via the older 30-pin or lightening connectors.

  • GPS (AUTOMOTIVE) FOR MAC

I want to buy a GPS system for my car. All the systems are PC compatible which does not include the Mac. There must be a Mac user out there who has an automotive GPS system. How do you get around the compatibility issue? Boot Camp looks a bit hairy.

Yep, so far Mac support for Garmin automotive GPS units is vaporware. I just enlisted the help of a PC using friend for the one-time loading of maps into the unit. I have this delusion that by the time there is a software or map upgrade available that Garmin will come through with the promised Mac support.

  • GPS Metadata for Managed Images Bug

Alright this is really dumb. Aperture strips the GPS metadata for managed images on a version export, but does not for referenced files.
It just took me 4 hours to figure that out, ug. Metadata is sacred! Always preserve it.

My Aperture library uses managed masters.
I too discovered that if I performed *version exports* of geotagged masters the exported images did not retain the GPS data. The problem was the same regardless of whether the masters were .jpgs or RAW files. (Geotagging was performed with Maperture and Maperture Pro; the bug symptoms are the same regardless of which tool was used.)
Additionally, I discovered that if I performed *master exports*, then not only were the geotags retained in the exported files, but that +reimporting those same exports resulted in new masters whose versions would subsequently retain their geotags on version export+.
    synonym wrote:
If you Relocate Masters... BEFORE you add GPS metadata using Maperture you don't lose any IPTC metadata. If you then Consolidate Masters... you can then apply GPS metadata to these images within your Aperture library and you will not lose IPTC or the GPS data on exporting the versions.
If I'm reading this correctly it sounds like you can "scrub" your library of the problem by relocating masters and then consolidating them again, and that subsequently applied geotags (and by inference IPTC metadata) will be retained on new version exports. Did I get that right?
However if you already have loads of images in your Aperture library that you have added GPS data to with Maperture and you also have loads of IPTC metadata on them and adjustments what do you do?
I did a backup of the library at this point to a vault. I then restored the vault and GPS data and IPTC metadata was all retained and was also all retained on exporting versions!
And if I'm reading the last sentence of your post correctly, it seems like the consistent behavior between our two situations is that if *images are brought into the library with geotags already in them* - in your case by library restoration and in my case by re-importation of previously geotagged masters - *then the geotags will be retained on subsequent master and version exports*.
Is that a valid conclusion to draw? If so, it sounds like I could workaround the problem of geotags missing from my version exports by either A) relocating and then consolidating my masters, or B) by the three-step process of:
    1) geotagging my images,
    2) updating the vault, and then
    3) restoring my library from the vault.

  • What is a good gps app for ipad2 ?

What is a good gps app for ipad2?

Good for what?  That would depend on what you want to use it for.  Also, it would depend on whether you have a 3G unit.  Without 3G to stream maps, the GPS would be mostly worthless for on-the-move navigation.
Even with 3G, it would be real easy to blow right past the 256MB plan and even the 2GB plan while out and about.

  • How do I import GPS information for all of my images from Bridge into Lightroom 5.3?

After importing my images into Lightroom 5.3, I discovered that the GPS location data was imported for some images, but not for others.  When I checked the metadata files for the same images in Bridge, the location data was present for all of my recently downloaded images.
Why would Lightroom import the GPS data for some images and not others?
Is there any way to import the location data from the Bridge metadata files into Lightroom?

    Tony,
Thank you for your suggestion.  I had already tried several approaches along those lines without success.  In the end, the GPS data was still present in Bridge metadata file for each image, but not in the Lightroom metadata files for the same images.
So, I went back to Lightroom, and did some further exploring on the internet for solutions.  Just as I was wondering whether or not the problem might be rooted in my download presets (i.e., setting copyright into, etc.), I stumbled across a reference by a Pentax owner that identified the same problem.  Here's the link:
    http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/115-pentax-k-5/203274-gps-data-not-importing-into-light room-4-2-a.html
In a nutshell, I can download all of the metadata, including the GPS location information, but only if I do NOT use any metadata presets.  If I use a metadata preset when downloading my images, no GPS data can be seen in the Lightroom metadata files, but it does import into Bridge's metadata files.  I've now tried this both ways, several times now, and have verified this result.
I also tried re-downloading images with no presets, and replacing (copying over) the image from my original download.  This did not solve the missing GPS data in the Lightroom metadata.  From this point, all that I could think of doing was removing all of my recent downloads from Lightroom, and starting over.  However, I'd already started editing my images, and I didn't want to lose that time.
So, I re-downloaded all of my recent images from my memory cards as a copy into each file without any metadata presets.  Then, after selecting the copy first, followed by selecting the original (order is important), I toggled 'Sync Metadata' under the Metadata tab in Lightroom.  Voila, the GPS data appeared in the original metadata.  When this is done for all of my images, I will delete the second copies in my files.  Once I am satisfied that everything is okay, and my images are backed up satisfactorily, and only then, will I reformat my memory cards.
This whole experience has surfaced an interesting quirk in Lightroom, or in my Lightroom settings that I don't understand.  It may be something that Adobe might want to look into further, if others are finding a similar problem.

  • New to java.. What I need to develop GPS application for Blackberry

I was wondering what everything I needed to get started developing GPS applications for blackberrys.
It interest me a lot.. and I know C# and some VB. I am wanting to learn so getting a book would be good but just wondering what developer tools I needed to develop this kind of application. I currently have Visual Studio 2008 and I have seen a plug in for it.

If .NET, then have fun with Visual Studio and find yourself a .NET forum because this isn't it. If you're going to want to do this with Java, then go to the Sun tutorial site, find the getting started section, and start following those directions. Don't worry about the GPS and blackberry stuff for a good 3-12 months, depending on your current knowledge and abilities.

  • GPS system for Nokia 9300

I am looking for a full GPS system for my Nokia 9300, which will give me voice navigation down to specific postcodes within the UK and downloadable up-to-date maps/navigation database. I had my eye on Route 66 Mobile but it's specification states it's only available for the S60 series; even the latest Route 66 Mobile version 7.
I'm now really confused as to what I should look for. I need a complete system i.e. GPS receiver and software, because at the moment I only have the phone. As a very last resort, I do have an old Nokia 6630 I could use as a dedicated navigation system, but really I want to use my Nokia 9300 for everything. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.Message Edited by garyg on 29-Jun-2006

  • GPS APPLICATION FOR N80ie

    Hello Friends,
Just need to know if exist a GPS application for Nokia N80ie. Please let me know, where I can find one.

You can use Nokia Maps (download the version for the N73 http://europe.nokia.com/A4509291 and Nokia Map Loader from the same page) Just remember to start Nokia Maps on the phone after install before you use Map Loader. It needs to create some folder.
This will give you access to maps but to get GPS you will need to purchase a GPS receiver such as Nokia LD3W (connects via Bluetooth).
If you want voice navigation you have to pay for that but you can also try it for free for 3 days. You can access this from the options menu in Nokia Maps.

  • GPS apps for iPad ?...

    hi guys
can anyone tell me if it is possible to use apps - such as Navigon's GPS app for iPhone.. - with the iPad ? it would make for a GREAT touchscreen size for the car the only thing i'm kind of let down by my iPhone 3GS...
could i perhaps connect them together via Bluetooth for that effect ?
    thanks !

    hi guys !
& thanks ! i was kind of hoping it would & now i know it's down to Navigon to ''sort it out'', i'm sure it's only a matter of time before it's done so...another expense lurks in the horizon : a 3G iPad to use as a GPS !! plus whatever else it does, eh, eh, eh....
wait a minute, if it's 3G does it mean i can also use it as a phone of sorts ? or only through Skype & such ? give it the capability to stream music - á la iPhone.. - & that would make it a wonderful car gadget...
once again thanks a lot for the input & have a great week-end !

  • Why aren't there any English GPS maps for Japan?

I mean, why? There are GPS maps for almost every developed country, but for Japan there are none that i know of (neither Navteq nor Teleatlas, which are the two major cartography companies out there).
I've seen several Japanese GPS solutions, but they unfortunately don't have an English option. I've never seen a major company like TomTom or Garmin (among many others), offering a solution for that market.
So, what company does the cartography out there (Navteq or Teleatlas like), and why doesn't TomTom or Garmin use their data in order to develop an English GPS solution? There has to be some kind of logical explanation.
    Kind Regards.

Since this is the only way of getting navigation for Japan, Pakistan and Cyprus which Nokia have choosen to avoid providing for with Nokia Maps, presumably you would rather OP was left in ignorance of technical feasibility of it's use upon Symbian devices.

  • Bluetooth GPS receivers for MBP??

Has anyone tried using any BT GPS receivers for navigation program?
Here's a find that i was curious about if it would work on a MBP notebook.

I assumed that since it's "BLUETOOTH", it should be able to work....but i understand that NOT all bluetooth work with bluetooth devices..... isn't that stupid? haha.....And you would think that all bluetooth devices would be made the same.....
any thoughts/comments on Bluetooth GPS devices working with MBP notebooks???
