GPS Tracker app that INCLUDES Timestamps?

I simply need to import GPS tracks into Google Earth that come in with time data so that I can use the Google Earth time slider and animate the track.  I can do this with Android using My Tracks.  I have attempted to use apps such as Motion X on the iPhone and while they can import a track they do not include any timestamps.  Does anyone know of an iPhone app that can do this? I've been looking for something like this for a while and have been getting no where.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you contacted the support resources provided by the developer of the app and asked them about the problem?

  • GPS Tracking program that continues to track while using other iPhone apps

Does anyone know of a GPS tracking app for the iPhone 3G that will continue to track while listening to music or answering calls? The few apps I've tried quit logging when you change to another app.

Thanks - hopefully Apple will address this soon. I'm not willing to hack/jailbreak my phone just to get this functionality.
    One last dig:
This is the unfortunate reason that I've stayed away from Apple for so long. They make WOW stuff that is pretty and neat to use as long as you stay inside the "box" so to speak. I guess I'll have to take my old blackberry running with me - it can play music AND track your run with GPS. Who would want to do that?

  • Is it possible to run two GPS tracking apps simultaneously?

I have a couple of apps that track your position via GPS, like MotionX GPS. They run in the background under iOS 4.2.1. Is it possible to run two of these at the same time? Will they both get GPS updates from the OS as quick as they would if only one were running?

Before someone says "try it and see if it works," I plan to. I just haven't had a chance yet.

  • GPS Navigation App that doesn't suck?? Or am I doing something wrong?

I started off with a droid 2 before I got my iphone 4.  The droid 2 gps was phenomenal, I had no problems with it.  Then I got an iphone which I assumed was going to be just as good if not better than the droid's gps.  Boy was I wrong!  The "Maps" app that came with the iphone did not re-route itself EVER when I was in a big city and I ened up getting lost.
So one of my friends downloaded the "Waze" app, which is ok.  I mean it does work it's still not the greatest.  My issue with that one is that it doesn't say "take next right exit 172B" it just says, "turn right here."
Now it's very possible that *I* am the one doing something wrong, I tried going through the settings but I still couldn't figure it out.  Can someone please help me?

The store category "Navigation" has a ton more than 10 apps in it, but they are geared toward a great many different things - from geocaching, to hiking, sailing, driving, orienteering, finding your parked car,....
If you want to search, you need to search for something more specific, like "road navigation" or "street navigation"
I know in there you should find Garmin, TomTom, MotionXGPS Drive, Verizons nav app (requires a subscrition added to your plan), AT&T Navigation app (also, needs service added to plan), and several others.
Most of the top sellers and best rated will be right there on the first screen if you go to categories - Navigation

  • Can anyone suggest an international GPS nav app that offers map and POI downloads for offline access and route search?

I'm going to be in the UK with an American phone, don't expect mobile data, and I'd like to use this app instead of the £30 up charge for a rental GPS... I've seen the free Navfree and the cheap as free MotionX Drive, but have read Navfree has some spotty routing and MotionX won't allow regional (or even whole city, ftm) map downloads.

At $90 for the UK maps this is a too pricey for the use case. In case it wasn't clear, I'm visiting the UK short term so I shouldn't spend more than the £30 to hire a GPS nav system.
Thanks for the suggestion! Any other ideas?

  • I'm looking for an app that will help find my property stakes.

I know where 2 of my property stakes are and want to find the other 2. Is there an app that I can put a "flag" on the 2 stakes, and walk the 300' and find the other stakes? Most apps I see do distance in kms or miles. thanks

Google Maps can mark locations and show feet, I believe.
But you're looking more for a GPS tracking app, if you look at one of hiking or running apps, one might handle feet. I've seen some golfing drive distance apps also.

  • Time tracking app

I'm looking for advice on a time tracking app that will allow me to quickly enter a start/stop time from the home screen. So when I'm working on a project and another project becomes 'more important', I can quickly switch between start/stop.
Start/stop times won't be billable, but will need to be sorted.

Have a look at myWorkTime it might be what you are looking for, it is a universal app.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link. <Edited by Host>

  • GPS app that  tracks walk through city over dif days showing all tracks

Hello, can someone help me finding an GPS app that allows me to track my walks through SanFrancisco.
My plan is to walk/bike the entire city over the course of a few months
I would like to be able look at all my previous walks at the same time on one map. Do i need an app that saves to gpx and and then somehow overlay them all at the same time on my macbook?
I would also like to see the previous walks on the iphone so i dont repeat an area that I have walked.
    Any app suggestions? thanks

check out cyclemeter by Abrivio. Its $5 I think but pretty cool. You can set it up for walking, biking, driving, and a few other types of activities. It tracks distance, average speed, elevation, calories used. You can export to google maps, then save it to your maps if you have a google account. Also saves as gpx attachment or url, kml, csv formats. It does a lot more, like voice updates about your workout if you are wearing earphones, but I dont use it regularly, just for dinkin around

  • Is there an app that will show your GPS history?

Are there any Mac apps that will show your iPhone's GPS history?  I've tried iPhone Tracker but it crashes when loading.

Use an app that tracks your GPS movement and pull the data points accordingly.
    That app would be...?

  • Want to find a fitness GPS app that will allow you to receive and send messages and calls while running the app

I love my blackberry 8900 and have found some cool fitness gps apps that track my distance, etc.  The problem I have is I can't figure out how to access incoming messages or how to send a text message while keeping the app active.  There are pause buttons on the ones I've used, but if I try to get out of the app screen it will log me off the workout completely.  Now granted, I don't do a lot of texting during my workouts (cycling) but still - would be nice to be able to pause it and maybe send something liek "home in a few mins " then continue on with the same workout.

I figured it out - I programmed my left side button to go straight to my IM program.  I can send and receive messages and go back to my workout without stopping it

  • Can anyone direct me onto the correct app that I need. I want to export GPS way points to an excell spreadsheet.3 times a day

I am seeking an app that will record the times I pass several way points and exports the data to an excel spreadsheet.  This is so I can record the time it takes to travel between points several times during each day.

MotionX GPS will email waypoint information depending on how you set it up. You will have to manually import the data to Excel though. Depending on your application MotionX has two different apps, MotionX GPS and MotionX GPS Drive. Drive is best suited for automobile and offers live voice guidance, but no real waypoint tracking. MotionX GPS will offer waypoint tracking as well as automatic email based on your settings. It can be used for pretty much any transportation (ie bicycle, hiking, auto, etc.).

  • I purchased some music from the store on my iphone, but itunes won't load those tracks into my library!  It comes up with error 36 (the disk could not be read or written to) but I am able to get apps that I have purchased.  What's up with that??

I have 4 tracks that I purchased from the itunes store, 2 audio and 2 music videos.  I used my iphone to make the purchase.  Unfortunately, when I got home and tried to transfer them to my itunes library, it tells me that the disk can't be read frrom or written to.  This it totally bogus as I am able to download apps that I purchased at the same time as the music.
How do I fix this problem without having to totally rebuild the library yet again?

I'm guessing this is a problem unique to me as there have been no replies at all...  Thanks a bunch folks

  • HT1975 How can I reset the gray location services icon that apears next to the app that used my location services in the past 24 hours? Or better yet is there a way to track how many times it's been doing it in the past 24 hours?

My boyfriend likes to check up on me by using find my iPhone app. Sometimes I feel he goes overboard and would like to know how often he is watching me. The gray icon is always there because he watches me every day, but if there is a way to reset it do that I can check it time after time and see if he watched me again since the last time I checked. Or is there a way or an app that tracks how many times a devise has been tracked? I don't want to change my password because I like knowing that if I get lost in the woods he would find me :)) I just want to know his often he is watching me.

Understood.  However, the point that I'm trying to make is that it's not the WiFi access point's security that's in question, it's having your phone's WiFi in an always-on mode that's in question.  It's simple: if your phone's WiFi is on, then it is both discoverable and hackable... even when it's not connected to a WiFi network or access point.  Here's an article about a drone in London that was created to hack smartphone WiFi signals (and hackers have been doing what this drone does for years):
    http://money.cnn.com/2014/03/20/technology/security/drone-phone/
The point is that it's not  secure to have your phone's WiFi in an always-on mode.  It would be better for privacy and security if Apple made WiFi location aware so that it is only enabled when you are at a trusted location (e.g. your home or office).  Or, at least give us the option of location aware WiFi so that each user can determine the best mode for their phone:
    (1) Always-On (current default - not secure and many privacy issues).
    (2) Trusted mode (only on at trusted locations).
    (3) Off.

  • I am trying to find an app that will track the usage on my iphone with times and dates to see what was accessed on my phone when I was away from it and what if anything was done eg deleted messages viewed facebook etc?

Hi! I am trying to find an app that with track everything that is done on my phone with times and dates? im not really woried about call usage and texts sent I need it to view what has been done - for example:
    Messages received
    Messages deleted
    Facebook viewed
    Messages viewed
    Internet viewed and what?
I just have an issue with someone using my phone - I used to track this through double clicking the home button and roughly knowing in what order I had been on things but they have sussed this one!
    Thank you!!

No way to do that on a non-jailbroken iPhone. Why don't you just passcode protect your phone? That way no one but you can use it...unless they know your passcode.
