Due to the impossibility to have a gps application with vocal instructions (for free like google navigation) on my mobil BlackBerry 9380 i inform you that i’ll change my blackberry 9380 on Monday to another brand of phone like nokia or others.
I’ve searched on the net but I haven’t found any solution or application. I’ve phoned on my assistance provider but they haven’t any solution to…
It’s incredible that Rim can’t give a free application with a vocal gps like google navigation!
My bb was ok for all but not for this and vocal sms to.
Hope you find a way one day but for now it’s my first and last black berry. I’ll change my phone for two years to an android and with all what I need this time.

I don't want to pay for garageband because it should have come with my laptop but it didn't. I got it used so that might be the problem. Also I installed leopard on it. I'm not sure if that would affect it at all. Please help. Thanks.

What OS version was on it when you bought it?
You bought Snow Leopard (10.6.x) and installed it?
The original version is important because there were some OS versions that did not include iLife (incl. Garageband) - you had to get it separately. And, the retail Snow Leopard disk does not include it.
So, if that is correct, then it doesn't have to have it installed. In any case, you can still buy a retail version of iLife with the full suite of apps from online retailers; either version 09 or 11 will work with your OS. Or you can just buy Garageband at the app store.

"unknown user type" exception when the object don't exist for i/p key.

I'm using Coherence REST service(comes with the Coherence bundle) to validate my cache data.
When I hit the cache for a valid key, I get data returned back. But for the object that don't exist in the cache I get "Internal Server" error.
I'm fine with "Internal Server" response show in the browser, but I don't want it to be printed as part of my coherence logs.
For example, when I hit the REST url for key that don't exist in the cache, I get below exception in coherence logs.
How can I get rid off it (or) suppress the exception logs.

Folders don't exist for blocked add-ons. If they do, where are they?

I read and followed all the instructions for uninstalling blocked add-ons. Safe mode didn't enable the Uninstall buttons and the folders for blocked add-ons don't exist in either the profile or installation extensions folders. They still show up as installed. Now what?

Specifically which addon are you referring to? Chances are that addon was installed globally, through the Registry, and the actual addon isn't even in any Firefox related folders on your hard drive. That makes it difficult to find.

For free using cellular voice or data? Forget it. Especially if you have Verizon. T-Mobile is the only US carrier with reasonable roaming rates and services. Verizon is the worst for International roaming.
If you have a WiFi connection you can use Facetime, Skype or similar apps for voice, and Yahoo Messenger, GoogleTalk, Twitter or similar for texting.
If you are eligible for an upgrade get an iPhone 5S from Verizon. It is unlocked for International use. So you can use an Israeli SIM while there. It won't be free, but it will be no more expensive than anyone in Israel pays.

Bluetooth drivers don't exist for Windows 7

I have an issue. I've had a Mac book Pro for about a month now and it's great, except for the fact that Bluetooth doesn't work.
I'm trying to connect to the internet using my iPhone through Bluetooth. Once I pair my computer to my phone, windows tells me that It can't find the driver for a 'Generic Bluetooth Device'. I've tried putting in my OS X install disc and looking for one there, but no luck.
Does anyone have Bluetooth working on a MBP with Vista/Windows 7?

I finally got my iPhone tethering through bluetooth! one problem: I don't know how...
I did everything I usually do, but this time (even though it still didn't install the driver), it actually connected.
So my bluetooth works now, even though in the device manager, the device shows up as not having a driver.
To be honest, I think installing 3.1 might've had something to do with it working. Can anyone confirm that?

MIME Content Type in HTTP Headers - They don't exist for TIFF images

I think this may be a bug...
In an effort to stop client browsers from attempting to render TIF images served up from UCM 11g, I would like to change the MIME Typte to: application/octet-stream
Supremely, a browser would see this in the HTTP header and simply provide the "OPEN or SAVE" dialog.
Seems easy enough - from the UCM Configuration Manager, I can set/edit all the mime types I want. I did set .tiff and .tif to application/octet-stream. Apparently Weblogic does NOT honor these settings.
When I click on a PDF file, I get: application/pdf
When I click on a TXT file, I get: text/plain
When I click on a TIF file, I get: NOTHING - no mime type specified in the HTTP header at all.
Does anybody know where in the stack of Weblogic/UCM 11g that mime types are set? Does anybody know why I'm not seeing ANY mime type when I click on a tif?

Yeah, that does seem a bit unwieldy. Try the following instead:
Navigate to the "<Middleware_home>/user_projects/domains/<yourdomain>/config/" directory and there create the following file :
mimemappings.properties
In this file add the below mapping :
tiff=application/octet-stream
Save the changes , restart UCM server and then test to see if the issue still shows up .

Best way to stay in contact for free when abroad? (Free Wifi Calls US to UK, App to PC calling etc?)

I am from Northern Ireland (U.K). In July I will be going to the US for a two week holiday in New York.
I am on O2 and my contract is £13.50 per month. I had a look a the cost of making and receiving calls from the U. S and it was pretty pricey. To even receive a call from back home will cost something like £1.40 per minute. Texting seems fairly pricey too, around 30p a txt. Considering I am already paying a monthly contract, I'd really like to find a way of not adding to this when I am out there, but stay in touch at the same time.
I will be staying with friends so I presume I can jump on to their Wifi connection for free on my Curve when I am there?
I guess if this is the case, I can use Facebook messenger, MSN messenger or Yahoo messenger to chat with family back in the UK for free. I was wondering if any programs had voice calling capabilities? I know Skype is NOT available for the Curve in the UK.
My family use PC's. If there was any program that made online calls for free, that was compatible with both PC and Blackberry, I could use this. Any ideas?

Other than America/Canada's annoying price gouging for 3G data... there really isn't much of a solution because Apple's ingenious plan was that iPhones should normally use 1GB of data every month and not tell the user where it all went to.
Also, At&t was under investigation by some government organization for that night-time data transfer you've seen. I don't know if there ever was a resolution from that or not.
You can turn off the 3G data like Matthew349 said, I personally do that all the time when roaming in European countries where my main provider would normally charge 15€ per MB.
But talk to At&t about the extreme night data transfers that happen when you're sleeping. They should help you identify what's going on. If they don't think it's possible, they're lying ask for a detailed report of the sessions of the huge data transfers and where that communication happened.

If you order a mac from the U.K's higher education website (university/ over the phone) you get three years warranty + one year phone support for FREE. This is not Applecare.
Applecare = Three years warranty + Three years phone support. This will cost you, but alot cheaper if you are under higher education. E.g I brought an Aluminium iMac and Applecare costed me only £45(normal price £139 I think). To take advantage of this price, you must buy Applecare uplift - EMEA CC- HE CONTRACT UPLIFT(at bottom of customising your mac page) the same time as your mac.
Last year I didn't know the difference so I didn't buy Applecare uplift for my Macbook, but wish I had. You should buy it because after your phone support expires, the only way Apple will fix it if you take it to an official store, where with Applecare you can phone in for free and they collect your mac from you, fix it and return it to you for free.
e.g I had a faulty battery during my one year free phone service. I called them up and they sent me a new battery. If my phone service expired after one year, I would of had to bring my macbook to the store (calling them without phone support would cost like £35). Also you may need to make an appointment online before you can take your mac to the store.
Macbook's Applecare cost roughly £52 if I remember, but Applecare for Macbooks to the public cost £200.
If you buy Applecare the coverage is global, but the standard higher education warranty isn't I think.

Is there any way a Student could get adobe products for free? For Educational Purposes?

You can rent the Creative Cloud software for about $30/month.
I don't know if a Student discount is availabe for CS 6 - I couldn't find that info on the web site.
Adobe never has given students free software, and why should they? The folks at adobe don't work for free.
They already offer fully functional progams at a deep discount to students, who can use them for whatever purpsose they want. That should be enough.

Can Flex data visualization sdk be used for free?

I am not interested in the soure of the data visualization component as such,but I plan to use it(binary) just to create the swf files and deploy on a website. I know that Flex SDK is free. But can i use the data visualization component with the Flex SDK(command line) for free?
I am actually able to use it and do not see any watermark. Just wanted to make sure its free use is permitted under the license.

I am still a bit confused. Let me clarify a bit more.
The 'Get the free Flex SDK' link in Flex Homepage (http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/) lists the following downloads:
1. Adobe Flex 3.4 SDK
2. Adobe Flex 3.4 Data Visualization Components for Flex Builder
3. Adobe Flex 3.4 Automation Libraries for Flex Builder
I downloaded 'Adobe Flex 3.4 SDK' and 'Adobe Flex 3.4 Data Visualization Components for Flex Builder' and unzipped the files, and merged the contents of the two unzipped folders(copied to appropriate folders).
So now, using the command line mxmlc I can use the chart components and I do not see any watermark.
And I do not intend to buy Flex Builder as I just use the command line compiler and a simple text editor. So do I still need to pay the cost of Flex Builder professional(for ethical reasons)? Or since I dont use Flex builder, am I permitted to use the data visualization components for free? Technically there is nothing blocking me to use it free, like the need of a license key etc.
