Not a lot of gamers here. You'll probably get a faster answer in their forums:
    Minecraft forums
About all I can find on the web about MC sysreqs are either too vague or only address Windows reqs.

  • My Macbook Can't Play Minecraft Anymore

I have a Macbook Pro, and I used to be able to play Minecraft on it...as in, yesterday, I could.
But this morning, Minecraft suddenly stopped working, and now I can't login to ANY accounts through the updated Minecraft launcher (or any launcher, for that matter).
Other people (my brother) can login to my account through the launcher and play the game, but I can't on my computer.
    Thoughts?

Check the manufacturer website. You may need to update your version of Sims. http://support.aspyr.com/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&root=36
Or check the support site. http://support.aspyr.com/

  • Can you play minecraft on Mac?

My son wants to play Minecraft on our newly purchased iMac. But when we try to install it, we are told we need to download Java. When we try & do this, we are then told to download Adobe!!! Neither of these work, which subsequently means we can't download Minecraft, which has resulted in a very unhappy son!!
    Help anyone.

Have you tried downloading it directly from their site
If that still doesn't work try installing this older version -> Java for OS X 2014-001
    Hope this helps

  • I recently bought a macbook pro 15", but i noticed that it ,after i use some hours, it stays hot, very hot. Is it normal ? Can I play Minecraft relaxed ?

I recently bought a macbook pro 15 and i noticed that it stays hot while i am using it. Is it normal ? Is there a problem if i play minecraft on it ? How can i decrease the temperature ? Thanks for everybody !

MBP is designed to sit on hard/flat surface to maximize airflow arond the unit.  Also the aluminum body is part of the heat dissipation.
Use this to monitor temperatures: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/20364/istat-pro
Also know that the unit can run very hot (to human touch) under load, and will power down before it burns up.
Holding it on your lap (if you are) will make the still-acceptable running temps seem high.

  • V Nitro VN7-791 screen is flashing when playing Minecraft

Hello,I just got brand new Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-791. I bought it for playing differnet games. I.m very disappointed when I tried to play Minecraft. The screen is constantly flashing in an irritating way. I tired to update display drivers and fix the video options, but the problems doesn't end. The strange thing is that other games run smoothly, f ex GTA V. Do you have same problems? Can you play Minecraft with your Acers? Any ideas to solve the problem? If I won't find a solution, I want my money back.

    YamoZ,
Make sure that the discreet graphics are set to run the game instead of the onboard Intel graphics chipset (CPU) to see if that makes a difference. It sounds like it is driver related, if you have not performed all your Windows updates. Be sure to check optional updates, there might be some there that could address this.

Why is it, every time I click send e-mail for instructions on resetting my security questions, I don't get them? I just want to play minecraft. I already put $15 in my balance and I can't even spend it. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Either they're being sent to a different email address, or got caught in a spam filter, or something's wrong at Apple's end. If you can't find the email, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions, which can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.

RE: "P.S. I  found it aggravating that I couldn't copy and paste text  here, it wanted me to insert as a link or an image, how do you insert plain  text?"
I take it you tried using the "right click" menu?   That doesn't seem to work, as you noted, but, you should be able to paste text by pressing your CTRL key  and while holding it down, press the "V" letter  key.
    CTRL + C = COPY
    CTRL + X = CUT
    CTRL + V = PASTE

    Dear Adobe.
Yesterday I installed the latest version of Flash Player that auto appeared on my screen. Ever since I can not play video, and my system has become painfully slow. I have Mac OS Lion 10.7.5 and software is up to date. Before this everything was running beautifully. Can you please provide a link so I can uninstall the latest version only. Thank you. Stephen Kress. Melbourne. Australia

When you run the uninstaller, it will uninstall all Flash Player versions.
If you want to revert to an older version after that, get it from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

  • Can I play and record minecraft on a mac pro

I am currently playing minecraft on a windows pc with a 1GB graphics card. My graphics card has crashed while playing basic minecraft. I want to buy minecraft so I can do more and also install HD resource packs, but are unable to because of my computer. I have been advised to buy the new Apple Mac Pro, as it has a 6GB graphics card, but am wondering if minecraft will run on it and if so, how well. I also want to record minecraft and put it on youtube, but have noticed that most of the people who play minecraft have pc's to play and record it on. I have also noticed that mojang, who make minecraft are using pc's. Is there anybody who is using an Apple to play and record minecraft and if so, could you let me know how well it works and if you have uploaded it to youtube, please give me your link or username. I am looking at buying the new Mac Pro to run minecraft but am wondering if it will do what I want it to do and if anyone has any advise.
    Thankyou.

You can only PLAY Blu-ray discs on a Mac by using one of several software's that untilize a Blu-ray license on the internet. What this means is that you must have a fast internet connection to play the disc on your machine. Apple refuses in support Blu-ray with their OS, so there's no way one can play BRD using their computers software in a stand-a-lone manner, like Windows users can.  This is one of those reasons for the love and hate relationships Apple creates  for controlling the market to their advantage, at a loss of one of the most common entertainment formats to their user base. They could easily support the format, they simply chose not to either out of stubborness or for money reasons. The latter makes you winder when they have so much of it now.
Toast software, on the other hand, has the ability to burn Blu-ray discs, so you can at least use BRD for back-up.  You can also rip movies, etc. I purchased a small and nifty portable BR burner from Sony, Model BDX-S600U that was fairly cheap at the time for $149. It's now $178 at Amazon. It only interfaces witha computer through dual USB though (one is for additonal power), so you can't use it with your TV.  I use this device on my MacBook Air when I want to burn or play DVD's. I have tested the machine and it plays DVD movies and burns just fine. I've been so busy though, that I haven't actualy burned a BR data disc yet, but I know the Toast software supports it. Moreover, hard drives have become so cheap, that burning to BR isn't the best BU, but still uasable and great for mailing large files.
Unfortunately, until Apple gets their HOOTA we may never see BR support because Tim Cook may just follow Steve Jobs lead out of respect. Yet, with new leadership, and Steve out of the way (Bless him), we may eventually see Apple support. Especially as they continue to merge iOS and OSX. I wouldn't hold your breath on it though.

  • DVD Speeds - can I play slower recorded DVDs - Satellite P20-801

I've got a Satellite P20-801. I'm thinking about buying a DVD Recorder so I can transfer VHS material onto DVD. If I recorded it at a slower speed, would I be able to play it on my laptop? How can I find out if the DVD player on the P20 can play different speeds - assuming it's possible?
    Thanks.

    Hi
As far as I know the recording speed is not relevant for playing. You can record DVD on minimum or maximum speed and the DVD can be played on your P20. My previous notebook was P20 and I have never had any problem about that.
    Bye

  • Can i play napoleon total war in my macbook air

Hello can i play napoleon total war in my macbook air 11.7 mid12 64g og do it run ok og doesnt my computer gonna slow? Thank.

The above is a screen cap from the App Store page for the game. Typically when the VRAM for a GPU is listed it's usually targeted at discrete cards not shared GPUs like the one found on the MacBook Air. I have not had the opportunity to install onto my MacBook Air yet as it's only got 4GB of RAM but I did install it on my 13" rMBP with 8GB of RAM and it's playable on low-to-medium. You definitely won't be running the game on ultra.
I found turning down the shaders, shadows and particle effects help tremendously as by mid-battle with all the units in the play the game definitely got a bit laggy due to pure unit count.

  • Upgraded to snow leopard, now browsing SLOW can I reinstall?

I wasn't having any real problems with Leopard, but when Chrome stopped updating flash for it, I decided what the heck, I'll upgrade (against my better judgement).
So, I ordered my Snow Leopard disk directly from apple.  Backed up my Mac with Carbonite. Then installed SL on my Mac.  At one point it hung up, but after I eventually decided to shut off the computer and restart it, everything appeared fine. I also ran all the updates so my safari is 5.1.7 and my SL is 10.6.8.
Here is my system info: (I  replaced the s/n with the ****)
    Model Name:          iMac
      Model Identifier:          iMac8,1
Processor Name:          Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:          2.8 GHz
      Number Of Processors:          1
      Total Number Of Cores:          2
      L2 Cache:          6 MB
      Memory:          2 GB
      Bus Speed:          1.07 GHz
      Boot ROM Version:          IM81.00C1.B00
      SMC Version (system):          1.30f1
      Serial Number (system): ************
      Hardware UUID:          *************
Browsing has become horribly slow.  I'm always getting the beach ball, and it Chrome and Safari keep becoming nonresponsive.  I didn't realize I was supposed to do a REPAIR DISK BEFORE my upgrade.  I have run REPAIR DISK several times now. I heard that there were a handful of items that would repeatedly show up as needing to be repaired, even though they are actually ok, BUT I just ran a repair disk AGAIN and there must have been 150 line items to repair.  It said it would take 39 minutes. But it actually took about 15.
I realized that "rosetta" was not selected when I installed (but I don't run any windows programs anyway).  Also, once when I got hung up in Safari, I was in the Zynga gaming site and multiple windows started showing up telling me to run in 32 bit mode. I tried changing to 32 bit (even though it didn't seem to make sense because I'm not running anything that would require  32 bit) but it made no difference.  I've since returned it to 64.
So I'm wondering, Can I REINSTALL Snow Leopard?  Since I've done a repair disk again, can I just stick the disk in and try to install like normal? Do I have to back anything off?  I've had my Mac for years, but NEVER had any problems with it, and never had to upgrade so this is new to me.  (I was used to Microsoft before, that caused me problems CONSTANTLY, especially needing to upgrade constantly.
BTW, I don't have a LOT of different docs stored on my Mac, just a ton of pictures (which was my reason for needing to make sure it was all backed up).
Thanks for any help. I really appreciate it.  I would like to be able to browse without having to FORCE QUIT every 10 minutes.

I've done multiple safari resets.  I've also repaired permissions multiple times.  So here's what I've done. I did another disk permission repair, then put the snow leopard disk back in and ran the install again.  It acted a little odd, for example in the middle of the install the computer shut down and started up again on its own.  I just left it.  Then, it seemed to be stuck on 1 minute left for a solid 20 minutes, but eventually I got messages that it finished. Then, after doing a repair again I noticed safari was reset back to 4.0, so I ran all the other upgrades. Did repairs between each.
I also noticed that Flash player wasn't upgraded to current, so I did that.
So safari wants to take a while to open now when I click it.  I usually get a beach ball.  Also happening with Chrome.
I play 2 games on Zynga, and have since discovered that I can't play one of them (rubyblast) anymore because it the brower (doesn't matter if its firefox, chrome or safari) lags.
Is there some way for me to see how much memory these games require, and if that could be my problem?  I honestly don't know much about Mac memory.  I don't have many applications installed except for what came iwth my computer 4 years ago.  I do have a HUGE number of pictures on my mac though (and since iphoto duplicates those pictures, I have nearly double).
Am I missing something?  I didn't want to upgrade from Leopard because my Mac ran just fine. I only did so because Chrome dropped support for it.  I like using chrome occasionally.
If someone can help I'd appreciate it. I have 3 days left on a carbonite trial (which isn't enough time to restore my Mac if I need to) so I'd like to think I'm just missing a common thing.

  • IPod says "No Content" in music, and suddenly I can only play that content through iTunes on my computer...

    Can anyone help me?
I have been having terrible problems with my i-Pod Touch. I have very slow internet (often only 2 or 3 kb per second) but Apple seems to demand I do countless time-consuming updates. For this reason I haven't been able to update my iPod to iOS5........I have also had the whole run of errors when I connect my iPod to iTunes to update anything. I have had Error 13109, 5826, 1604 and 3194....but all of that hasn't bothered me too much as I manage to transfer music from CDs or computer files (podcasts from non-iTunes sources) and that's all I need.
All of a sudden yesterday, whilst continually giving me the error 13109 message, my iPod said I have no content in the music library. However, when I plug in the iPod to my computer and switch on iTunes I can see those songs are still there, and indeed I can play them. Until this morning I was able to play that content from my iPod through my loudspeakers that have an iPod dock - completely unconnected to my computer.
It just means that I can't play those songs when I am anywhere except connected to my computer - and that's not really the point of having an iPod is it?
Is anyone able to help me?
By the way, I should like to say that I am very new to i-Pods, and I already think it is absurd that a customer should be constantly obliged to update everything, and when things go wrong visit all manner of websites (and Apple Support Communities!) to hunt for solutions, and then spend hours and hours going into the belly of my computer, making changes, downloaded, syncing, re-booting and goodness knows what else to just try to get the product to do what the manufacturer said it would do when I bought it, without telling me anything about all this other hassle. I think it is shocking, or have I just been sold the only lemon in the orchard? I bought it in Mozambique and live in Zimbabwe - and none of these places offer support services.
tks for nay advice or commiseration you may be able to offer.........
    Nick (aged 50, and ignorant).

OK guys...no need to reply....I am resigned to never getting to the bottom of the syncing problem....I just go from 13109 to other error codes, downloading little umbrellas, putting th eipod in DWI mode (or something like that), restoring, getting anew error code, not being able to download updates etc. etc. - so I lost my patience with sitting in front of my computer trying to fix something I paid nearly usd 800 for (in my opinion the manufacturer should make it properly in the first place, or warn you about its faults before you buy)............
I synced my iPod to the computer, lost all my content ans restored only witrh what I had on this computer's iTunes - thus losing the countless CDs and vinyl I had converted to digital on my other ocmputer at home in Mozambique, which my current iTunes says it can't locate.
Am I really the only person who prefers to listen to music instead of spending hours and hours on the computer trying to fix this useless machne?
I wish I had never wasted my money on this thing. I guess it's just inappropriate and too sophisticated for where I live and for my simple needs (wi-fi and music only).
Very big thumbs down from this novice for the iPod Touch and for the iTunes way of doing things in general.......
