GPU not rendering output file at all, but mercury engine selected to work...?
Hi There,
New proud owner of a PNY nVidia GTX 650 Ti, and after installing it Premiere gave me a "driver not supported" message.
I closed it, and edited the supported cards list, and restarted it. No error at all.
I made sure that the GPU rendering was selected, and tried to create a 720p youtube file using the same settings as my camera uses (29.97fps framerate, same resolution etc)
this file took a while to produce, and my CPU was 100% in use the entire time, both cores.
GPU-z showed a max 28% use but was rarely over 5%.
I restarted the render this time using software, and it gave me the SAME TIME TO RENDER.
So i am not using my GPU at all to render.
What am I doing wrong? Please help me out. I got this card because according to all over the entire internet, these are the best entry level cards.
So why support a 650m mobile i presume card, but not this one?
thanks!
I will point out the document that John posted here, it clearly states that the CUDA cores are not for exporting.
Here is where my confusion from coming to a professional video editing suite come from:
1. Powerdirector 11 literally went from taking 30-60 minutes to create and export an mp4 files to about three to six as soon as I put in the older HD 6570 card. It has terrible washed out colors, so after testing a 10 second clip via premiere pro i went with that.
2. Sonyvegas is the same, just put in a video card that can actually use the GPU during the final exporting of a file and see a decrease in render time.
3. the GPU is being used in premiere pro, i can see it going up/down during editing but not like the other applications. The other apps use about the same gpu/cpu ratio, they simply create the file much faster than premiere seems to.
powerdirector just seems to create the file much faster, whereas I am sure that PP produces a much better quality file.

Download of the new 4.0 won't install. It keeps saying Extraction Failed Can not open output file.
Oh? That's "reset youtr laptop"?
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -

Can not print PDF file at all with Windows Vista
I have Acrobat Reader 9.3.2. I am working off of Windows Vista on my laptop to a network wireless printer (Brother MFC 9440). I am unable to print pdf files. About a week ago, we had problems with our printer printing anything. I had to uninstall it and reinstalled it and it now works fine except the pdf files. I have had no problems printing any other files on any other programs but this one. I am unsure what specific "updates" I ran while trying to figure out printers issue. When in Reader, everything seems normal. When I hit print, the printer box pops up as normal and then I hit ok, my printer icon at bottom pops up for about 5 secs and nothing happens. I know that I am connected to printer due to all other programs can print. I do not have access to another printer to see if pdf will print on another printer, but do know that the other two computers used in this office (mac laptop and mac desktop) both are able to print pdf files to this printer without a problem. I have gone thru all the other help steps to try to resolve the situation: it still will not print when I hit "print as image", made sure that my printer is marked as network and is default printer, made sure to check that I have all upgrades, etc. I am not getting any error message, so am unsure what is wrong. It just will not print. Is there anyone that could give me some suggestions that I have not tried? I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks!
Another user experience exactly the same issue with vista and printing from Adobe reader.
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/642000?tstart=1 Its copied below as a reference.
The problem was on my Auntys PC, and yes i did updated Adobe Reader to v9.3.2 and still the same issue underlned below.
My Aunty lives 70 miles away so will not be trying anything else.
The printer works fine with every other application only Adobe Reader files will print.

Can not open output file on installtion
On installing Firefox, it comes up with a dialogue box saying can not open output file. Therefore, I cannot complete the porcess of installation
Hello alstoner,
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*'''Windows:'''
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
Thank you. -
Firefox stopped working after updating. I uninstalled it and downloaded latest version 3.6.6. Before that 3.6.3.
When I try to install, I get a message "Extraction Failed.. Can not open output file" . I trie d former versions, all with the same result. I've already ran several antivirus and anti-malware, spyware.. etc.
Everything else works fine, except for Firefox...

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.86 Safari/533.4Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
If you keep having problems then disable your security software (anti-virus) during the download and installation of Firefox.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall -
When I try to install Firefox, I get a "can not open output file" error. I was using Firefox before and it stopped working, so I uninstalled. Cannot re-install now.

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; AntivirXP08; GTB6.3; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; MS-RTC LM 8)When you click the download link on [http://getfirefox.com GetFirefox.com], you should be asked if you wish to Run or Save the file. If the described situation happens when trying to Run the download, try instead to Save it and put the file on your Desktop or a similar place where you are certain that you can find it again.
When the download is complete, try double-clicking the downloaded file in the normal Windows Explorer (browse your way to the file from My Computer). This should start the installation.
If you notice in the Explorer window that the file seems to be lacking the Firefox orange/blue icon, rightclick the file and select Properties. The picture should look somewhat like the attached picture (except that mine's in danish, but that is irrelevant) if saved correctly - if it does NOT look like this, please describe the contents or attach a screenshot of the box. Especially what it says under "File type" - it should be "Program"; if it's not, we'll have to look into what the problem could be here.
Slightly off-topic, your Internet Explorer seems to be quite a bit out of date (IE 6, where current version is IE 8), so I would strongly recommend that you try to run Windows Update to get your system updated. If this is a company system (like a Terminal Server thin client machine), this may not be possible, and your system administrator will most likely have to help you. -

Export>Quicktime movie is not rendering video track, just the audio track. However, everything works when using Quicktime Conversion menu options. What is wrong with my setting for Export>Quicktime movie?
When you converted the original files via MPEG Streamclip, what did you convert them to?
Have you tried trashing your preferences in FCP? Trashing FCP prefs is usually the first step when FCP is performing strangely.
Download Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion (free) at:
http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
It will allow you to archive your current preferences if you wish to restore them later.

Adobe media encoder cc will not save output file destination
Hello all,
Hopefully a simple issue here. I'm running windows 7 and just downloaded AME CC. I've tried over and over to save my output file destination in Preferences and have saved my media cache files to the same location and the saves will not take. I was able to get it to go to the drive and folder I specified ONLY when I clicked the "Match Sequence Settings" tab in the AME pop up window. My settings need to be different, so I leave the box unchecked. Anyone else having this issue? Can anyone help me out getting this simple function to work? I saw a short thread on Creative Cow dated February 2013 with the same concern from a user and I did not see a resolution at the end. I have not been able to find anything on this anywhere. Sure, I can continue to manually save each file I render in AME, but it's a big PITA. I finally was in between projects so I downloaded the CC upgrade and replaced my CS6 version and now I have this simple problem from an alleged upgrade? Help please.
Thank you.
ToddPremiere sequences queued to AME from the Export Settings dialog won't honor AME's output path preference. Instead, they default to the last path used from Exp. Settings via Premiere. However, you should be able to get the result you want by queue-ing to AME's default path once from Premiere, which will make it Premiere's default as well.
Or, you could drag and drop your sequence from the Project panel directly into AME's queue; that will use AME's preference instead of Premiere's default path. -

Process with RenderPDFForm using Java API not generating output file
I have a short-lived process that renders a PDF/HTML form based on input parameters. It also takes a .xdp file as input. This works just fine from with
in Workbench (9.0). I have created a Java client to invoke this process. When I invoke the process from the Java Client,
it is not creating the output file. When I look at the invocation response, I see the output parameter (output file) name, but it is null.
Here is my code.
Properties connectionProps =
new Properties();
connectionProps.setProperty(
"DSC_DEFAULT_SOAP_ENDPOINT", "http://hostname:8080");connectionProps.setProperty(
"DSC_TRANSPORT_PROTOCOL","SOAP");
connectionProps.setProperty(
"DSC_SERVER_TYPE", "JBoss");
connectionProps.setProperty(
"DSC_CREDENTIAL_USERNAME", "username");
connectionProps.setProperty(
"DSC_CREDENTIAL_PASSWORD", "password");
//Create a ServiceClientFactory object
ServiceClientFactory myFactory = ServiceClientFactory.createInstance(connectionProps);
//Create a ServiceClient object
ServiceClient myServiceClient = myFactory.getServiceClient();
//Create a Map object to store the parameter value
Map params =
new HashMap();
File file =new File("C:/test1/test.xdp");File ofile =
new File("C:/TestProcess.pdf");
//String formName = "RD410-4.xdp";
InputStream inFile =new FileInputStream(file);OutputStream oFileStream =
new FileOutputStream(ofile);
byte[] cData = "".getBytes();
Document inputData =
new Document(inFile);
// Document outputData = new Document(oFileStream);
inputData.passivate();
params.put("Form", inputData);params.put(
"FormId", "12");params.put(
"RevId", "12");params.put(
"OutputType", "PDF");params.put(
"targetSubmission", "http://localhost:8090/LCWebProject/HandleData");params.put(
"param1",1);
InvocationRequest invokeRequest = myFactory.createInvocationRequest(
"MyApplication10/Processes/RenderForm", //Specify the short-lived process name
"invoke", //Specify the operation name
params,
//Specify input values
true); //Create a synchronous request
InvocationResponse invokeresponse = myServiceClient.invoke(invokeRequest);
Document encryptDoc = (Document) invokeresponse.getOutputParameter("outputFile");
//Save the encrypted PDF document returned by the process
//Save the password-encrypted PDF document
File outFile =new File("C:\\test1.pdf");encryptDoc.copyToFile (outFile);
I see the output parameter "outputFile" in the invokeresponse object. But it is null.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction ?
Thanks,
JyothiI am not giving the solution, providing you a hint..
This is the query you need to satisfy,
