GPU probs in CS6 Extended
as the title says, i have probs with GPU probs in CS6 Extended, video card is a Gforce GT 610, with the latest driver downloaded from their site.
when i go to in CS6, when i go to edit/preferances/performance, it tells me NO GPU in photoshop standard.
not only does it say its the extended version, the image on loading is totally diferent to the standard version.
im running XP, with SP3 and 4 gig of ram.
question is, how do i get the GPU working

thanks for the help guys, the system isnt that old realy... though as computers go 5 years is OLD, I did give windows 7 a shot on a laptop, but didnt like the look of it at all, though i have heard there is a small app around to get it looking like XP (give me a break guys, hard to teach an old dog new tricks
guess i could get a new MoBo and CPU and give it a bit more ram, all other parts should be interchangeable, psu, case, dvd.
Just thinking, how would a dual boot go on here? id just be useing the win 7 partition for CS6, so i guess how windows looks is a moot point.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended 64-Bit GPU Acceleration Stopped Working
I've been using Photoshop CS6 Extended 64-bit when one day the GPU acceleration features stopped working. I closed the application and restarted it and the GPU acceleration still didn't work. I couldn't rotate the canvas or use scrubby zoom. I rebooted my system and it still wasn't working. I check my performance preferences and my graphics processor was detected with the "Use Graphics Processor" box checked. I unchecked it and rechecked but the GPU acceleration still wasn't working. I uninstalled Photoshop CS6 and reinstalled it. I got the GPU acceleration to work opening the application right after the install. I close Photoshop CS6 64-bit and reopened it and the GPU acceleration wasn't working again. I am able to use GPU acceleration features in Photoshop CS6 32-bit with no problem. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Ultimate Edition and I have a GeForce 280m GTX GPU. Would there be anyone out there who can help me with this issue. Thanks.
From what I gathered on this Forum there is a good chance that it may be related to the driver – unfortunately it could be either becasuse it’s obsolete or a bad new version.

Feedback GPU - windows 8.1 - 64bit PS CS6 extended OK
Hi
i post many months a question to know if i can configure my graphic card to be able to use photohsop CS6 extended .
since it not work after update to 8.1 windows OS and i need to use the 3 D functionnalities .
I need some feed back from user that have the same requirement than me but has a graphic card that work !!
i have only 300 Watt power supply and i don't know if power connector is available on the motherboard for graphic card !!
So my requirements are
-windows 8.1 64 bit
-photoshop CS6 extended
-use 1 slot PCI express x16 ( Gen 2.0) for desktop PC
-2 video connectors for dual screen
-not high end card ( price less than 200)
-no additionnal power cable on the graphic card ( ATX 300 Watt)

Hello folks how do you do? Well, I'm experiencing a problem using the 'Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended'. In general the 3D feature doesn't really show up in my screen. What can I do? Please some one?

The 3D Features doesn't work on my Photoshop CS6 extended.
Hi,
I am using Adobe CS6 extended. I can't use my 3d features on creating objects but it can work with creating 3d font text.
When I select the object, the 3D Properties are unable to click on any function
May I know what is the problem? Is there any requirement hardware for my computer to run on 3d features?

Tested video cards for Photoshop CS6
Adobe tested the following video cards before the release of Photoshop CS6. This document lists the video card by series. The minimum amount of RAM supported on video cards for Photoshop CS6 is 256 MB. Photoshop 13.1 cannot display 3D features if you have less than 512 MB of VRAM on your video card.
Important: This document is updated as newly released cards are tested. However, Adobe cannot test all cards in a timely manner. If a video card is not listed here, but was released after May 2012, you can assume that the card will work with Photoshop CS6.
Adobe tested laptop and desktop versions of the following cards. Be sure to download the latest driver for your specific model. (Laptop and desktop versions have slightly different names.)

How to Force Enable 3D Menu Contents in PhotoShop CS6 Extended
Hello I have a weird problem with photoshop cs6 extended
I bought my new laptop HP Pavilion dv6 6170ee which has 2 graphics card 1 is the intel one and the other is the AMD one ( High Performance )
As you can see from the screen shot above my drivers are installed and updated anyway the 3D option in CS6 was working good and it's content was enabled and ready to use , but suddeny after restarting my pc I started cs6 and found out that the contents at 3D Menu is disabled I went for my AMD graphics card control center and made sure that photoshop is running on the ( High Performance ) GPU and here is the screen shot that proffs it
and then I opened photoshop again , choosen Edit , Performace and found that it's still using the Intel Grapics Card ? here is the screen shot
and I have done all what i can do to make the 3D menu content enabled again system restore ( failed ) , Reinstalling windows + Drivers + stuff again ( same problem happpend again after restarting my computer ) and also trying resseting my gpu settings to factory default settings ) all of these was fail , please is there a way to force start photo shop like command line ..etc .

I have Photoshop CS6 Extended Students and Teachers Edition. when I go into the Filter/Oil paint and try to use Oil Paint a notice comes up "This feature requires graphics processor acceleration. Please Check Performance Preferences and verify that "Use Graphics Processor" is enabled. When I go into Performance Preferences I get a notice "No GPU available with Photoshop Standard. Is there any way I can add this feature to my Photoshop either by purchasing an addition or downloading something?
Does you display adapter have a supported GPU with at least 512MB of Vram? And do you have the latest device drivers install with Open GL support. Use CS6 menu Help>System Info... use its copy button and paste the information in here.

No 3D options on Windows 8 in Photoshop CS6 Extended!
Hello everyone! Recently, I have installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended trial from Adobe.com (Yeah, I am sure it was the EXTENDED version). In the setup it says that it is installing ”Photoshop CS6 Extended” and I could saw that yellow leaves -or what that is- girl in the image. But everytime I open the program, it says only ”Adobe Photoshop CS6”, I have no 3D options displayed and if I go to About Photoshop, it says that it is only ”Adobe Photoshop CS6 (not EXTENDED-as I could see on some youtube videos)”! So, what is the problem? I have a 32-bit system and Windows 8 Release Preview installed. I read that XP does not support 3D, but about Windows 8... Or, it does not support 32-bit systems, it only support 64-bit systems??? What should I do? Thank you in advance!

You may even want to check how the other GPU features work on this video card. It is at the minimum requirement for Ps CS6, and given the age of this card it may not be supported.
The minimum required GPU must have 512 MB VRAM for Ps CS6 Extended. We have some cases for GPU with 256-512MB where the 3D menu items aren't disabled, but problems may still occur. The suggested VRAM is 1GB or higher for 3D the feature set.

Like I said the 3d menu is not showing up on photoshop cs6 extended edition my specs are the following:
CPU- Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz dual core
GPU- EVGA Nvidia geforce gtx 750 ti 2GBs DDR5
RAM- 8GBs DDR3
OS- Windows 7 home premium
if you need more specs than that just ask
It's not an issue with my photoshop version because I downloaded it to my brother's computer (much weaker than mine) and it ran with 3d
Please help.Update your graphics driver or use an older version that does not use CUDA 6.0 and uses 5.0 so PS can detect it properly...

3D Menu not displayed Photoshop CS6 Extended
Hi all,
I have just installed Photoshop CS6 Extended from adobe.com as the trial, but after installing it I don't see the 3D menu at the top.
I have tried reinstalling several times but still no 3D menu.
I have a ASUS GTX550Ti graphics card with 1gb of ram so I thought this would be sufficiunt.
Also running windows 7 64bit.
Any help appreciated.

PaulPeople report this from time to time. Adobe's response has been along the lines of "of course the trial will show you the 3D menu", ignoring the fact that a user is reporting that it doesn't.
Did you get the Photoshop trial software directly from Adobe.com?
It's not a problem with your hardware being insufficient, because if the GPU or OS/driver weren't up to the task the 3D menu would be there, just grayed-out. That you're not seeing it says that the installer has done something wrong and has set up the trial to run as the Standard edition somehow.
Unfortunately, no one has reported a sure way to make the Extended features show up in the trial so far, since mostly the problem has been dodged, but here's what I'd suggest.
Uninstall the trial, then run the Adobe Create Suite Cleaner Tool, then try a reinstall.

Cannot use lighting effect in CS6 extended
When I use the lighting effect filter in CS6 extended, it only creates a new layer without any change in the menu and other things. As advised, I try to edit the GPU setting under the edit menu but the column is in grey colour and cannot be edited. I have changed my display card to AMD Radeon HD 7770 with an updated driver but it still not works.
Are you sure the document is an RGB 8-bit/channel image?

Photoshop CS6 is downloaded even though the link states Photoshop CS6 Extended.

A few days ago or so, I had downloaded Photoshop CS6 from the official Adobe site here (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop), and wanted to only test it out. However, I did a very stupid thing and uninstalled all my Microsoft Visual C++ products, not knowing that these were important for Photoshop. Anyways, Photoshop was having all errors etc. and I had to uninstall it (the 30 days weren't over yet, by the way). Now I have downloaded the Microsoft C++ products again, and I wanted to download Photoshop CS6 Extended again - it all was installed it perfectly, but when I opened the program, it was just Photoshop CS6 and not Photoshop CS6 Extended (and I want it because of the 3D options etc.) - and I was using the same download link from above. So, why has it downloaded the "wrong" product now?
Thanks!The installation is one and the same software, only a serial number differentiates the feature set.
It's not supposed to be able to show you just non-Extended features in evaluation mode, however. I don't honestly know what to advise, other than maybe to do a full and complete removal, including use of Adobe's Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, then install it yet again. Perhaps trying to run it in a damaged state triggered some of the GPU detection logic to fail and deconfigure Photoshop's use of the GPU.
Since it is allowing you to continue your evaluation period, there's hope.

Photoshop CS6 Extended (via creative cloud) Flashes when clicking on canvas and ..
photoshop cs6 extended (64bit) flashes black when clicking on canvas or on a layer. I can't get anything done, I have already uninstalled and reinstalled... all other Creative Cloud apps work fine.
I';m using windows 8.
If anyone has any idea of what is going on or can help in any way, please let me know.

KellyThat is a known bug in Windows 8. We're working with the GPU vendors and Microsoft to get it fixed.
In the meantime you can set the Photoshop GPU mode to "Basic".
If you have an AMD GPU, you probably want their 13.2 beta drivers. -
Usupported graphics software photoshop cs6 extended
i hae windows 7 home premium and when i open photoshop cs6 extended it said "photoshop has detected graphics software that is not supported" and when i use the text tool the text is very small and i have done all the fixes for the small text problem and nothing has happened and i dont have acces to the 3d part???
What are your GPU and its driver?
