GPU Upgrade on Compaq laptop

Hello, I wonder if i can upgrade my laptop with a GPU, my laptop model is Compaq 610.
If it is possible please prefer me a few GPUs which is compatible with Compaq 610.

Sorry the graphics is part of the whole motherboard; soldered on. There is no way to improve the graphics performance by adding some sort of additional card or chip. Perhaps there is a higher-end motherboard available depending on which version of the 610 you have but once people figure out how expensive it is to replace a whole motherboard on a laptop we rarely get anyone who actually does it. We would need the full part number of the laptop to figure what graphics chip you have now and if there is a motherboard with a stronger one.

I'm on a quest to upgrade my older CQ5320Y as far as I can go without ditching the case and mob.   I've upgraded the ram to 8 gb, upgraded the CPU from Athlon II 240 60w to Phenom II 955 95w (with better cooler), upgraded the PSU to a Corsair CX600M.   Now for the GPU.   I was looking at the Geforce GTX 750 ti with the low power Maxell architecture, but have heard it will not run with older HP Compaq mATX desktops running less than the v.8 bios UNLESS you get the MSI version that has a switch to run on legacy bios. Is it the Maxwell architecture that is the problem?
What about the Radeon R7 265?   It draws double the power, but is faster. Will it run?   What about the older GTX 650 ti gpu's?   Different architecture than the 750's, will they run?

I'm afraid we may be talking at cross purposes here.
As to the PSU -   I bought one that was way over my anticipated needs because I haven't bought a GPU yet. I knew I had only a shrimpy 250. Then I upgraded the processor and its cooler.   I didn't know how much more I would further tax a new PSU with a GPU since the ones I am looking at ranged from 60 to 180 W, with the modern, more preferrable 60W ones having known problems with the old HP/CPQ BIOS, perhaps forcing me to get an older hotter card, some which draw at least 20a or they won't run.
Sure, with only one video card I could probably get away with 400 or 450, but in any event, having more on tap is not a problem and cost was neglible between sizes anyway. Of course, everybody would like lower power consumption if they can get it, but my point was the old Bios issue (which I can't change) may force me into a power hungry GPU, which in turn necessitates a bigger PSU.
Does that clear it up?
As to the memory, you can keep reading off of your spec chart if you want, but I'm telling you that it is a 64 bit system and your own snippet says "A 64-bit OS is requred to address more than 4.0 gb".   It has two PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 4 gb cards installed and the system recognizes them.   I tried to uplink a jpg screenshot of the system properties screen, showing that the system recognized all 8 gb's, but the forum poster rejected it for some reason.
In any event, it's beside the point of my original question, which was, "Will I have bios problems with the older cards I cited like with the 750 ti known to have problems?"

GT780DXR gpu upgrade

oki have gt780dxr...still so stisfied with that machine. but its times to upgrade for nvidia 570m gpu. i am able to find so many better MXM gpus on ebay and aliexpress
but the thing is i wonder about which one would work with my laptop?
is there any one allready done upgrade on this model? cuz as all you know MXM cards is not that cheap and i dont wantto get in to trouble with the sellers.
if there is some one allready made that upgrade with any better gpu (670m 680m 770m 780m or even 880m) with successfully help would be perfect.

HP Probook 4510s gpu upgrade

Hello,
I am in posession of a HP Probook 4510s and i was wondering if i can get a gpu upgrade. His original CPU is also going to be upgraded from a t5870 to a t9600.
But i can not find anywhere the GPU compatility list for my laptop. Is it possible to find a better GPU than the current 4330?
Or i am stuck with this one.. some laptop users i have heard that they upgraded their gpus easly and they found out all upgrades that are supported by their laptops from customer service or something like that.
i wonderd if someone could point me in the right direction or to show me a GPU compatibility list from my Probook 4510s

G500s GPU Upgrade

I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade my laptop by getting a new graphics card...higher than Nvidia gt 720m that i have now...is it possible to do so

If you are asking to upgrade your GPU with new one , laptops cannot upgrade their GPUs because in laptops the GPU is soldered onto the motherboard. You can only download the latest drivers for the GPU you have which may somewhat improve GPU performance.

MSI GT60 GPU upgrade from MSI ?

So just recently I was browsing through the interwebs, when I came across a thread when a guy was walking about how he upgraded his MSI with nvidia 770m to 970m. Now he had to do a minor adjustment to the 970m graphics card (sand down something in the gpu, not sure what though :S, something with aluminum block ? ), anyways after he did that, he just put the gpu back in this laptop and did the bios update and his laptop is working perfectly. What I wanted to know is why doesn't MSI give us an option to upgrade legally, I mean something like what they are doing with the gt72 or the gt80 when they are providing buyers upgrade kits. I would love to upgrade my gpu on my laptop, and I would happily give my money to MSI if they can make an upgrade kit for the GT60's and the GT70's. I mean the GPU is MXM and the thread clearly shows that it is upgradable so why not? I know this is probably a dumb question, but I really wanted to know.

Cost should be the same as the GT72 upgrade as both the heatsink and GPU are both already available to MSI to release. At this point though who cares. You can get a 970m and 980m cheaper than what MSI is selling their kits for. And the 700m and 800m heatsink can be easily modded to work with the new cards. So no big loss if they don't ever release an official kit IMO. Just DIY and be done with it.

Sound in My HP Compaq Laptop

My compaq Laptop plays sound through the microphone jack i.e when I plug in my earpiece, brings sound, but when i remove the ear piece, no sound.

I gather that you have sound when you connect head phones but not on the internal speakers.
When I checked Compaq Presario C700 CTO Notebook Software and Drivers, I noticed Windows 7 was not a supported Operating System. I am not sure if that is your exact model as you only provided the series.
As Windows 7 has not been tested on your notebook the outcome is unknown, however it may work just fine.

Compaq Laptop as monitor for a Mac Mini

I was wondering if it would be able to use a Compaq laptop as a monitor for a Mac Mini because I want to be able to easily switch between Mac and PC for as cheap as possible I would like to use the laptop as a monitor for the Mini.

this is not possible. However, you can use VNC to control your mini from your Compaq. If this is an option for you depends on the intended use for your mini.

Why my sister's Compaq Laptop make noise and can't open the windows.. huhuhu.. the sound come from HardDisk in that laptop.. its sound like the HDD reader scratched the Disc insde.. how can it be?? my sister scold me already couze she wanna use for her work..

I ran the first aid in the Keychain both for verification and for repair and both immediately returned with "no problems found".
As for the certificate, according the web administrator nothing had changed for the certificates.
even on the windows laptop I also get the certificate as being expired, but by simply accepting that I still have access.
I had a pop up every time that alerted me to the certificate issue, but whether I "continued" or not that still did not matter.
Yesterday, in an effort to find a solution, I went into the "details" and entered to trust this website.
Now that certificate issue does not pop up anymore. But I do not know how to reverse that either.
I have the feeling indeed it has something to do with a certificate, but how is the question.

Compaq laptop wireless driver

Hi. I sure hope someone can help me. I have a compaq laptop running vista which i have reformatted and reinstalled vista successfully.
i thought i was using the install disc that came with the laptop but it appears that I have used a Dell disc!! so now i dont have any drivers at all, and the wireless function is not working, and if i plug the laptop in manually, I still cannot get online.
What should I do?

Compaq Laptop CQ60-615DX Little white light beside the dc jack blinking repeatedly non-stop

Compaq Laptop CQ60-615DX white light next to where you plug in the power cable keeps blinking. Never stops Blinking. Computer doesn't power on.
The DC jack is loose, took the laptop apart, pressed down on the dc jack to hold it in place, and stuck the power cable back in. Tried to wiggle the cable around to see if the jack is bad. But it feels pretty solid, it's just the housing holding the dc jack in place that's broken.
But I'm still getting the little white light beside the dc jack blinking repeatedly non-stop. No system power.
Question is.
1. Is the DC power jack bad and needs to be replaced or.
2. There is a short in the motherboard and the motherboard needs to be replaced.
I have check all over the internet for what the white light blinking means. I've found no answer.
Could someone please tell me what is wrong with this computer?

I already encouted this problem yesterday and I want to share this information on how I was able to fix this issue where in the dc jack blinking repeatedly and the laptop wont turn on. This issue is resulted due to overheat so laptop automatically shutdown and results to some kind of hibernation.
1. First you need to dissamble your laptop (compaq cq60). To clean the exhaust fan. I cleaned it because it was very dirty. I used my laptop for almost five years. If you dont know how to dissamble your laptop, you can check the tutorial from youtube. Just be very careful.
2. After Removing all the parts you can use a brush to remove all the dust inside your laptop. After cleaning all the dirt inside the laptop you need to let the motherboard cool for 1 to 1.5 hrs.
3. When you put the dc jack dont put the battery. So once you plugged the DC jack you can see if the light beside the jack still blinking or steady.
4. Once the light is steady., you can now power on your laptop. and a message will appear that your laptop overheated.
5. You can use cooling fan to prevent from heating.
6. Clean the parts inside your laptop every half year. to remove dust that cause the exhaust fan not to work properly.
Now I was able to use my laptop again.

If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
The iPod should appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES. Select it there. To the right, its Summary screen is shown. Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons starting with Summary. Click on Music next to Summary. This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs ot the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music. This is the switch to enable automatic syncing. If your iTunes music library fits on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Then select what you want on the iPod from the lists below.
Click Apply to intiate automatic syncing between that iTunes library and your iPod (based on how the iPod's Music screen is set up in iTunes).

Cannot upgrade CS6 on laptop.

Cannot upgrade CS6 on laptop. CS5 runs just fine... Turned off firewall and scan. Now got to Serial Number upgrade. It took the cs56 upgrade number but not any of the previous numbers from your web site. I'm not at home so I don't have the first CS2 number. How do I get it to work?

Interesting, the rest of my question didn't show. My original is CS2 (which I have at home in FL with the number). I've upgraded all along and have CS5.1 on my laptop now. I'm using CS6 for the 30 day trial period for now. The program should know that I have a legal CS5 and accept the CS6 number. I'll deal with it next month after I get back. Thanks.
