GR based IV disabled

Hello,
We have a PO where the GR based IV was initially checked. Then the flag was unchecked and the PO was saved. After this GR took place with a 101.
Later on the business reversed this GR (using a custom movement type, which is a copy of 102), because they wanted to check back the GR based IV on the PO. However, after GR reversal on the PO the GR based IV is disabled. We are unable to check it, the field has been disabled.
I initially thought it would be due to the PO lock, bu clicking the unlock button does not activate the GR based IV flag.
Could someone explain why this would be? Also any solution to this would be great.

Are you sure that the GR based IV is disabled upon creation of follow on documents? If this is the case, then my question is answered.
However, as I would think when we have reversed the GR, shouldn't the PO be open again? And I would think, that since the PO is open again, it should allow everything to be modified on the PO, shouldn't it?

Publisher trouble : Published Content based portlets disabled

For example, when I want to create a new portlet base on the template "News" french localized, I cannot modify this new portlet : I got a popup which told me that the template is not properly configured or files are missing.
By the way, when I open the publisher explorer, I can see all the portlets I've imported but they are not published

On Cat6500 with SUP 2T and PFC4 QoS is enabled by default.
DSCP is trusted and preserved by default, independent of port state.
CoS is preserved by default for Layer 2 packets by default, independent of port state.
Additional Info about the queuing on the modules installed:
SUP 2T 10G - with Gigabit Ethernet Ports enabled it works CoS-based, with this interfaces disabled it works DSCP-based.
WS-X6848-GE-TX an WS-X6848-SFB works CoS-based, does not support DSCP-based queuing.
WS-X6908-10G - supports DSCP-based queuing
The options now are:
1) All policies CoS-based although the WS-X6980-10G supports DSCP-based queuing.
2) Policies for SUP and WS-X6848 CoS-based and the policies for the WS-X6908 DSCP-based
3) Disable Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces on the SUP hence it supports DSCP-based queuing policies, also use DSCP-based policies for the WS-X6908 and use CoS-based queuing policies for the WS-X6848.
The recommendation in the core is to use DSCP-based QoS.
The question is what to do?
Option 1) Less complexity and simpler configuration if only CoS-based policies are used.
Option 2) Least configuration necessary, mixture of CoS and DSCP-based policies
Option 3) Gigabit Ethernet ports on SUP have to be disabled, uses then DSCP-based queuing on all supported modules and CoS-based policies on all other modules.

You don't trust "to" a device, only from.
The advice I've gotten from switching guys is "If you're not sure - just trust DSCP".
If you try to trust cos on an access port where there is no VLAN header, there is no cos, and you can have problems.
If you have a trunk to another switch, you can trust cos and you shouldn't have any problems.

Seagate drives not compatible with Time Machine causing OS lag/hangs?

Setup-
Intel iMac (Early 2006)
Mac OS X 10.5.1
Seagate FreeAgent Pro 750GB External Drive
Reproducible Issues
MacOS X lags at start up with the Seagate drive connected via Firewire and Time Machine enabled.
MacOS X hangs at shutdown with the Seagate drive connected via Firewire and Time Machine enabled. The only way to turn off the iMac is to hold the power button down.
I have contacted both Apple Support and Seagate Support. The outcome with Apple resulted in finding no issues with my iMac. The same can not be said of my 35 minute call with Seagate this morning.
The Seagate rep took me through basic troubleshooting steps and then proclaimed that it was Apple's issue and that Apple had issued a patch for this problem. However, the rep was unable to even provide the name of the patch. The problem with this declaration was the fact that it was based on disabling Time Machine and restarting the iMac once. On the second, fifth and seventh reboot after getting off the phone, the iMac hung on shutdown and lagged on reboot.
To add insult to injury the Seagate rep told me not to use the touch sensitive power button on the Seagate drive, since "it doesn't always work properly." Quoted word for word.
A co-worker of mine uses Time Machine with a LaCie drive on his PowerMac G5 and has had zero issues from day one. At this point in time I'm probably going to wipe the drive and return it to Costco unless someone can suggest an alternative.

I bet it is formated with the Master Boot Record Format. it will mount and OS X will read it, but Time Machine will not be able to use it.
You need to be in finder, under go menu, choose utilities. in folder that opens, double click disk utility. This will open a window that shows all your connected drives. Highlight the seagate drive ( the top choice, thats give the drives storage size). in the top group of buttons in the right side of the application window click the partition button. The Volume scheme will show current. Highlight this and choose 1. to the right of that is a place where you can name the drive. Use only normal letters and numbers here. On the bottom of that window, click the options button, and select GUID. click OK and give it a few minutes. close the disk utility application when it is finished
After it is formatted, the drive should show up on your desktop and Time machine should recognize it.

Is SSH safer or more vulnerable with password auth?

I've been having a fight with the university IT people about SSH being unsafe because of the possibility of a brute-force password attack. Of course (as I explain to them) there are myriad ways to thwart this, some of which I had already taken before the fight began (only allow a short time to connect successfully, for example). (Although, I haven't been able to figure out if SSH can simply decide to refuse a connection after a certain number of failed passwords, but that's another issue..). On the other hand, I have seen a few sites in my SSH googling that hint that the RSA key authentication is less secure than password authentication.
So, my question I would like to submit for discussion is this: Is a passwordless RSA key authentication more or less secure than password authentication, and why? Or, if you would rather, under what circumstances are each method more vulnerable?

I think it really depends on the attack vector you are looking at.
Assuming mutually exclusive for the sake of this discussion (either key-based auth with password login disabled, or password login and key based auth disabled). A password-less ssh key is likely more vulnerable to an endpoint exploit -- as if an attacker has your sshkey without a password, he has access. Password-over-ssh is likely more vulnerable to a server-side exploit -- opens the password-guess vector, and if you aren't paying attention to the 'fingerprint doesn't match' message and someone hijacks your dns, you could attempt to login to a compromised system, thus giving away your password. Key-based auth would fail if they did not have your public key on the compromised server (you would still see the fingerprint difference message though).
You can do things to increase the security of the above vectors, from using a passphrase on your ssh-key and using ssh-agent (so you only have to auth once per session and it simply 'unlocks' your key, and doesn't leave it laying around open)..to using something like knockd or fail2ban on the server side.
Personally, I use a passphrase protected ssh key (along with ssh-agent), and disable interactive (password) authentication on my boxes anytime they are exposed to a public network (along with adding root to the denyusers ssh list).

Photoshop Elements 11 not recognizing my CR2 file

I've previously updated Elements 11 so it would recognize my CR2 files from my Canon 6D. But now I get the message when I try to open a file that "the file could not be opened because it appears to be from a model that is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw." Now what do I do

A while back, with a Windows 7 64 bit laptop, I ran into that "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the internet settings may be correct. Please try again later." when I was trying to update Camera Raw in Photoshop Elements with its Full Editor/Help Menu/Update.
A friend suggested the fix that worked for her and then subsequently worked for me. I do not recall all the details but it was based on disabling the laptop's Window 7 64 bit's "Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter". I believe that she said the path to it was:
Control Panel
Network and Internet Sharing Center
Change Adapter Settings
followed by a right click on "Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter" and selection of disable. Are you having the same download problem trying to download from Help Menu/Update from any other version of Photoshop Elements?
She also suggested that a Bluetooth interference was possible. That did not apply in my case.
No guarantees on this one, just a fuzzy recollection for what worked for me on one particular laptop. Proceed with caution if you do find the Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter included on the computer that you have.

Help with setup for live streaming

I'm trying to set up a live stream that's viewable on my
website.
I have two machines behind a router with one being the
webserver running FMS (windows 2003) and the other being the
encoding machine running FME (windows XP).
When I set up FME, I put in the following as the url to the
server "rtmp://
computernamewebserver/live/" with the session name being
"test".
This has no problems connecting to FMS .
On the webserver/FMS, I created a *.swf file which basically
contains just a flvplayback object with the URL set to "rtmp://
computernamewebserver/live/test".
Now after I publish this, I can view the video via the
published html file from within the network, but when I try outside
of the network, it doesn't work and I get no error messages so it's
hard to debug.
I have port 80 forwarded to my webserver/FMS machine. I tried
forwarding port 1935 to both my webserver/FMS machine and the FME
machine with no success.
I've tried playing around with the rtmp URL by changing the
computernamewebserver from the internally recognized
computer name to the externally recognized URL to my webserver.
The solution is probably something simple, but since this is
my first attempt at flash streaming, it's not obvious to me and
I've tried searching for the solution. My suspicion is that there's
some config file somewhere that I need to config that I don't know
about or maybe it's some port issue. Neither of my machines have
windows based firewall disabled.

shows that FMS is working fine, so I am guessing that it is an
outside network issue.

firewall should prevent any connections from arriving, either by

the case, I dont know if windows still allows hosts on the same
subnet to have local lan permissions or what they do with their

I would try to just telnet to the port that you have open to
make sure the connection can be established.
telnet computernamewebserver 1935 (this should open up a
socket, otherwise your port forwarding isnt working correctly.)
If telnet works ok, perhaps its an issue with the swf. I
would code the minimal things needed to just get a stream playing
from the external network (perhaps just using the vod service, not
the live, to make things simple).

Hi,
Try to use Chkdsk tool to check if it could fix this issue:
1.
Type cmd in the Start Search box, right-click cmd.exe in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
2.
At a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
Chkdsk /R X:
In this command, X: is a placeholder that represents the drive letter of the volume that you want to check.
3.
Press Y when you are prompted to check the disk the next time that the system restarts.
4.
Close all applications, and then restart.
Meanwhile, please try to download Windows 7 SP1 package and then install it to check if this issue persists.

Google maps doesn't work on my new E72

I got the phone last week and since then i've been trying to fix the issue but so far no luck.
I have the newest firmware : 031.023.244.02.
When I open google maps (latest ver. 4.x ) it gets stuck on a infinite loop between "initializing GPS and GPS active"
In positioning methods I have the "Network based" option disabled. Assisted GPS and Integrated GPS are enabled.
OVI Maps 3.03 works fine, Sports Tracker works fine, GPS info app works fine, Location Tagger works as well. The GPS on the phone works great, it is just that Google Maps can't make full use of it.

I have unlimited data plan with AT&T, yes. I use the same access point for OVI maps as well, i don't have any maps stored on my SD card.
The fact that OVI maps crashes the phone when network based positioning method is enabled is a completely different issue. I am more concerned about google maps not working properly.
On a side not I wouldn't even use google maps if OVI was as good at finding local businesses. They should integrate OVI maps with yelp or some other online review web based service.

OIM Group Permissions(OIM User access rights)

Is it possible to set the permissions for an OIM group (ie AD Admins) to have access to Enable, Disable, and Revoke the resources on the Resource Profile page for a user– without giving them write access to the User Detail page.
And secondly, could it be restricted enough to only allow them to do those actions on a specific resource (ie AD User) and not other resources (ie OID, etc).
Please let me know asap if have any idea..

Once you give someone access to manage users and access to the menu item, they will have access to all the drop downs for that user. You will need to test the permissions. You can give the group update writes to specific objects, and only read only to others and see if this meets your requirements.

OIM Organization Access Rights Inheritance

I'm using OIM 9.1.0. I have two Organizations defined in OIM, they are defined as parent and child org. If I assign the access right for the parent org to an OIM group, it seems this group will not automatically be granted the access right for the child org.
Is it possible to make the group also have the access right to the child org without specifically assign it?

I haven't seen this reported anywhere... but then again maybe I don't master the advanced search so well, apologies if this is a duplicate.
Nokia Maps crashes my phone when launching it.
The phone just switches itself off after the app opens (and shows me a map with a red dot on it) .
I haven't done anything to the phone apart from upgrading the firmware in the past few weeks, and after fiddling with the options, I discovered that the crash is due to an option that is active by default under Positioningmethods: Network based.
Disabling it makes everything go back to normal.
I don't remember this option from the previous firmware version at all? Is there an update to Nokia Maps that I have missed? (the beta labs version isn't available for this device)

There have always been four available options in Positioning Method: Bluetooth GPS, Assisted GPS, Integrated GPS and Network GPS of which the latter three are ticked by default.
Surprised that Network GPS causes issues as is just using triangulation from cell towers but in case of some network providers packets of data do have to be sent and received.

I want to Disable text field in Tabular form, Based on the Select List Item Value.
Let's Say
I'm having one select lista and text box in each record in tabular form.
Select List having 2 items ... Add Text(return value 1) and No Text(return value 2)
if value =1 then i want to enable text box , so user can enter value.
if value=2 then text box won't allow to add text or will become disalbe.
