If in Delivery tab of PO ,GR- Non Valuated check box is checked what does it signify? and how can we remove it?

  • PO Item : Delivery Tab - Goods Receipt and GR Non-Valuated

    Dear all,
    User highlighted for a PO which she was not able to do GR. When checked, we found that the line item, with account assignment "K" - the Goods Receipt and GR Non Valuated indicator is unticked. User further claim that, she did not untick both of these checkbox.
    These were the steps which i have done:
    1. Checked the config: IMG > MM > Purchasing > Account Assignment > Maintain Account Assignment Categories.
    Here i have confirmed that Goods Receipt, GR Non Valuated are already pre selected.
    2. Scanned thru the whole list of User Exit found under ME21N. No enhancement related to these two fields were found.
    3. Manually create a PO, with similar data in test server -- both the checkbox are pre selected by default.
    Given the checking done above: If user did not manually untick the checkbox -- where else / how else can Good Receipt and GR Non Valuated indicator be unticked ?
    Please .. appreciate it if someone could shed some lights on this area.

    In this case, the PO line item doesn't involve a material number. Therefore PIR is eliminated.

    Yes, i did actually simulate from scratch, the creation of this PO. Both the goods receipt and gr non valuated checkbox were actually ticked. It didn't jive with user's feedback which claim the boxes were originally unticked already.

    Yup, as material number is not involved, therefore PIR and material master is eliminated.
    Thru out the day, am quite glad to make some discovery. The PO was actually converted from a PR. And guess what ?
    In the PR itself, these two checkbox were already unticked ! I then simulated this scenario - create PR with untick checkbox and convert it to PO. And voila ! in the PO, both checkbox were untick as well.
    Now am in the midst of finding out -- why in the PR, at the very first place, goods indicator and gr non valuated are unticked. Checking with the process owner, as the PR was generated automatically.

  • Stock but non-valuated material with FOC flag in PO but system asking for..

    Dear all,
    We have create a new material type which is stock but non-valuated material masters which measn in the "Qty Updating" checkbox is checked, while the "value updating" checkbox is unchecked.
    Our process is when we create PO of this item, we will flag the "FOC" checkbox in the PO line item in ME21N.
    However, when I perform the above step, i hits the following error message:
    Account assignment mandatory for material 40000010 (enter acc. ***. cat.)
    Message no. ME062
    Diagnosis
    There is no provision for value-based inventory management for this material type in this plant. Account assignment is thus necessary.
    Procedure
    Please enter an account assignment category.
    Question, why system still want me to key in an account assignment category and with GL and cost center? this is suppose to be a Free of Charge item with the above setup and procedure?
    Please advise.

    Our goal is the user does not need to key in any GL account and cost center as it is FREE. which is why we have a customized material type solely for material like this (see my previous writing).
    Does it means, I need to create an customized account assignment category with consumption posting using "V", and checked the Goods receipt checkbox, and checked the GR Non-Valuated checkbox ?

  • Non valuated PO, the Stat value in INTRASTAT

    Helo all,
    for our non-valuted PO (Acc *** cat. 1) in Intrastat the Stat value is zero. We need to have it calculated as there is a physical transfer. The same problem in consignment fiil up, I found out an OSS (317787 and 509325) correting it, but for non valuated I haven't found a solution.

  • GR non-valuated indicator controlled by the Account Assignment Category

    Dear Gurus,
    In standard customizing, is it possible to do a configuration so that the GR non-valuated indicator in the PO  is controlled by the Account Assignment Category. For example:
    1. For Acct Assignment Category = A (Asset), the GR non-valuated indicator is disabled (grey out)
    2. All other Acct Assignment Categories, the GR non-valuated indicator is enabled (not grey out)

    Which checkbox or radio button specifically ?
    It's not the 'GR non-valuated' checkbox or the 'GR non-val binding' checkbox right ?
    I can't find any radio button for 'GR non-valuated' so that I can set it to 'display' or 'hide' either.
    Perhaps I should elaborate a bit more:
    Disabled = Box is grey out = Non Modifiable = Cannot tick even if you wanted to, Cannot untick even if you wanted to
    Enabled = Box not grey out = Modifiable = Can tick if you wanted to, Can untick if you wanted to

  • How to "grey out" the checkbox GR non-valuated under ME21N - ME22N

    Hi guru's,
    Does anybody know how we can change the command box "GR non-valuated" to display?
    Default it's on, but we don't want that check box being changed by our users.
    In the customizing :  SPRO> Materials Management > Purchasing > Purchase order > Define screen layout at document level
    we can't change that field to display only, because the field isn't listed there.
    Can anybody help me any further in this case?

    All these checks are controlled by item category of PO. You can check it out in config of item category in purchasing.
    Now changing this controls as per requirement you need to use SM30 transaction to maintain table T163. This is the maintainance table available for changing item categories.
    Try as suggested and let me know the progress.

  • Best Material Type for Handling Non-valuated Materials in Distribution

    Our distribution business will soon be handling non-valuated material and I am trying to determine the best material type to use.  I am considering material type UNBW but would like to know if anyone has advice.  We are strictly providing a service to the vendor for handling these non-valuated materials (for example, wood products).  We will not purchase or sell the product.  Our service consists of receiving the product into inventory from the vendor, tracking the inventory, (in Warehouse Management) and then shipping the material to a customer of the vendor's choosing.  For these non-valuating materials, we are paid strictly for our service of warehousing the material and shipping to a customer.
    Up until now, our distribution business has distributed only valuated materials, i.e., materials we purchase at a price and sell at a price.  We also use vendor consignment.  NOTE: This is not a vendor consignment scenario because we never buy the product.
    Here are our requirements:
    - We don't own the non-valuated product.
    - We need to be able to ship these new non-valuated products on the same shipments as the valuated product we own.
    - We use handling unit and warehouse management for all of our finished goods.
    - We would like to use our existing processes and HU/WM RF transactions to receive and pick the non-valuated product.  This means:
    1) Creating inbound deliveries and packing into HUs.  And applying our HU bar code labels.
    2) Physical inventory counts by HU.
    3) Creating sales orders that have both the non-valuated materials and valuated materials we own.
    4) Creating outbound deliveries and picking via transfer orders in WM.
    5) Assigning the outbound deliveries to a shipment.
    Questions:
    1)  Can a UNBW material that will be stocked but not valuated be received into inventory via a PO?  Any way to receive into inventory with an inbound delivery without using a PO?
    2)  Are there any problems with putting a non-valuated material on a sales order with a zero price?
    3)  Any challenges that other have run into?

    I must be missing something regarding the use of material type UNBW.  When I post the goods receipt for a PO with a UNBW material, no inventory is created.  When I create the PO, an account assignment is required.  I tried both a cost center account assignment (K) and balance sheet account assignment (Z - using a Profit Center).  In both cases, I am forced to check the "Free item" checkbox to avoid entering a price; which also seems strange since the material is UNBW.
    I have searched everywhere for a "Best Practice" for my scenario with little results.  Again, we are simply managing the inventory for a vendor and shipping the inventory to our vendor's customers.  So we are acting as a third pary warehouse and shipper for the vendor.  We do not buy or sell the inventory - we are paid a monthly service fee by the vendor for warehousing their product and shipping it to their customers.  We may ship the product on sales order deliiveries that include both the "non-valuated" product (i.e., free goods we manage for this vendor) and goods that we actually own.
    As an alternative, I am wondering if I should look into somehow using vendor consignment with a settlement price (consignment info record price) of zero.  Vendor consignment is nice because you can track the stock by vendor.  However, we would never truly "settle" with the vendor because we would not be paying the vendor for the inventory and would never own it.
    Our business refers to this as "reload business" but I am not sure this is an industry standard term.
    Any other thoughts out there?

  • GR non valuated issue not cleared

    I want to know which is the userexit or BADI for ME22n for all document type with  refernce to Account assignment category "A".
    It should CHECK(tick) "GR non-valuated" field under "delivery " of line item.
    In our company first PR is created then it is converted to PO, so in this scenario sometimes a setting in SPRO doesn't work, so I have to enable it through userexit or badi...i have tried all the solutions which are posted in SDN.SAP in this link ->

  • GR non valuated ticker in account assignment category

    Dear Experts,
    A customer have set up their own account assignment category. In this they have both the "GR non valuated" and "GR non valuated firm" ticker set.
    I cannot see that this makes any difference to having only the GR non valuated firm ticker set?
    If the "GR non valuated firm" ticker is set, you always have to have GR and also always non vaulated GR
    With "GR non vaulated", you have to have non valuated every time to do GR (but it is optional to do GR)
    So, if you have set the first, setting the second makes no difference?
    Am I right?

    Hi,
    They are completely different setting (for different purpose).  Once both indicators are set in OME9 for your related AAC, then when you are maintaining PO with such AAC, the GR-non-valuated indicator will be set defaulted and greyed out (i.e. you can't be able to deactivate).  If only GR-non-valuated indicator is set, then this indicator checkbox will be defaulted (but not greyed out) and therefore, you can change if you wish to.  Yet, these settings are not relevant to the case of raising multi account assigned PO as in this particular case, SAP will automatically set the GR-non-valuated indicator checkbox regardless of if you have made any settings in OME9.

  • Non Valuated Material- CK40N issue

    Dear Friends,
    I have a question of unvaluated materials and settings with Product Costing. Ordinarily, these materials do not have an accounting view however, we have had an issue, where these materials are giving us errors when doing a CK40N. The way we have got over this is to create the Costing views and flag the 'no costing' checkbox.
    From your experience what other settings can be made to deal with non-valuated materials.

    Hi,
    Assuming the non-valuated material is part of a BOM, and the item category not L, you can set the item in the BOM to "Not relevant to costing", on the tab 'Status/Lng text'.

  • Intrastat - Inbound/Outbound of non valuated materials used in production.

    Hello everyone,
    I've found several threads and very useful posts (ex: Re: PO Creation of free goods for intrastat reporting)  regarding similar issue, but the solution proposed was manual input, therefore not answering totally to my client requirement.
    I am actually performing maintenance activities and there is this new business process, I have been searching for the correct understandind of this process regarding intrastat here and I haven't found.
    So i will describe the process hoping that someone can give me some hint:
    Vendor A
    Customer B
    Raw Material R
    Finish Product P
    Service S
    1. So we ( Vendor A ) receive raw material from our Customer B (+mov.type +)
    2. We ( Vendor A ) with a production order process the Raw material R into Finish Product P.
    3. We ( vendor A ) send the Finish Product P back to the Customer B.
    4. We ( Vendor A ) then issue an invoice for the Service S to the Customer B.
    5. It can occur that we Vendor A, can send back the Raw material R which was not manufactured back to Customer B (with a mov type.)
    So thiswas the scenario and how the process is beeing done, and the client understanding is:
    - As far as i understood, (please correct me if i am wrong) the Raw Material R must be declared (Quantity and statistic value) in Purchasing Intrastat, in the transactions where the Vendor A receives the raw material and as well in the case that they send it back to Customer B.
    - Regarding the Invoice from the Vendor A to Customer B, the Raw Material R is incorporated in the Finish Product P, therefore I've been told that, the Statistic Value determined in the invoice in this situation has to include the cost value of the raw materials R.
    My issues in MM are the following:
    1 - If Raw Material R is non valuated, how can i maintain its statistic value to be declared, in inbound as well outbound? as an Info-record?
    My issues in SD are the following:
    1 - If the Statistic Value GRWR can be for example 102% calculated over the net value, and if the cost value of Raw Materials R are to be included, so i would have to add them somehow to the statistic value.
    In this case the question comes up, where do i maintain the value of the raw materials R, and how to add it to the statistic value automatically ?
    Regarding what is implemented in this client, they have SD intrastat running, but not MM intrastat was implemented.

    I have this exact same requirement but on a bigger scale.
    The complexities are:
    1. The raw material which client use, that can be either supplied by customer or can be procured by client. Remember, customer's raw material and my externally procured raw material is exactly same in all properties.
    2. There are many customers who send same exact raw material.
    Requirements:
    1. Client wants to use same material codes (for raw materials and even for finished products) for normal production cycle and for Job work cycle. Master data needs to be the same, and data need to be separated at transaction level.
    2. Whatever raw material client gets from customer, its statistical value should be entered at the time of goods receipt.
    Please suggest if preference processing can handle this.

  • FI MM integration _ Non valuated GRN

    In FI MM integration if you acquire an asset through PO the asset value gets captured automatically.
    For single asset - One PO one asset - there is no problem - at the time of MIGO (Goods receipt) the GRN becoems "valuated" and asset get the value automatically.
    For multiple account assignement - One PO - MORE THAN ONE ASSETS - the GRN becomes "non valuated " (automatically- the field is grayed out). The account document will not be generated. The asset value will be captured on the MIRO date.
    1) Would it be a good practice? Ideally asset value date should be GRN date ..
    2) If anyone has worked on this - pl. guide me as to how can i valuate the GRN for multiple account assignment.

    Yes Veda,
    When you have multi account assignement in PO, GRN Non-valuated option automatically de-activated (greyd out).
    ME23N - Item data - Delivery - GR Non-Valuated
    This is Standard SAP behaviour.
    At the time MIRO, the entry will post as per the Account assignment given in PO - Splitting structure.
    There is no other way to do it.
    PO - Multi account assignment - GRN Non-valuated.........This is right approch as of today

    Hi,
    While creating the Sales order, system explore the BOM for that FERT. Say, I add one more extra component in sales order which is not been maintained in BOM or which has not been valuated for Std cost estimate for that FERT material. This extra component is call it as Non-valuated sales order stock. All other, valuvaed materials are valuated sales order stock.

  • Storage Location for NON valuated material in MIGO

    Hi friends ,
    I have created a purchase order for NON-Valuated material (UNBW) with Account Assignment "K".I did check the material type UNBW configuration where only Value Update is checked for my Plant.
    Now at the time of MIGO , system is asking for Storage lcoation (mandatory) and after MIGO system also updates quantity in Storage Location entered in MIGO.
    while in normal cases (like ROH material type) , if we create Account Assigned PO ( like K) , system neither ask for Storage lcoation at the time of MIGO , nor system updates Qty at any storage location.
    As per my understanding , if we create Purchase Order with account assignment K , system updates value in consumption and doesn't update Qty in stock (although material is stockable) .....which is simply like immediately issue of material to cost center.
    Therefore wondering why system is updating Qty for NON-VALUATED material.
    Does non valuated material means , POST value to Cost center (for account assignment K) and Update Qty in stock ?
    Like in case of Account Assignment , value gets charged to WBS and qty gets updated as special stock "project"

    By definition UNBW's are ony qty updating and have no value assoicated with them. Since the system needs to stock this qty somewhere it by deafult asks for a Sloc.

    Thans for your inputs,
    But I wanted to know it in more detail. In what scenarios they are used with financial entries in both the cases.
    I will give you my scenario. It goes like this,
    My client is in pipe coating business, who receives pipes from customers and does only coating work(which is considered as service) and despatches it to the customer. this process is carried on the basis of work order(Sale order).
    Now Production order is created and work is done on that with reference to Sale order for that particular customer.
    So the pipe which my client receives should be non valuated stock as it will not be a raw material to them and the cost incurred on it is booked on production order like chemicals as raw material consumption, activity cost etc.
    now in this scenario just tell me how and at which stage FI entries get generated at Production order and Sale order level, and also at wat level Standard cost estimate should be created i,e at production order level or sale order level(sale order cost estimate).
    Will there be any entries at goods isssue and GR against production order. If no then how the COGM account will get hit.
    Please tell me this scenario in both cases Valuated sale order stock and Non valuated sale order stock with financial entries in Sale order costing.
