GR3 Presets not Saving

I have Audition 3 and the VST Guitar Rig 3 by Native Instruments. I've recorded a few tracks with the Guitar Rig 3 set as my fx. The effects are applied correctly and stay until I restart the program. When I re-open audition, it still says Guitar Rig 3 under FX but the preset internally in GR3 isn't saving. So instead of the preset sound in my wav I have the guitar sound without any distortion. I figured out that freezing the files keeps the presets - but it's a hassle to freeze them all and unfreeze them when I want to edit the tracks. Is there something I'm missing? or is this something that's on NI's end? Thx in advance.

Well, good old Time Machine has saved the day and now at least I'm back to where I was before, I can now edit the PrintPreset.plist file directly to add my presets. Still not sure how AP2 stopped this when AP3 was loaded afterwards, but at least my clunky work around is working again until (hopefully) this is fixed with another update.
Hmmmm. My Aperture 3 print presets file is named PrintLayoutPresets.plist
The Aperture pront presets file was named PrintPresets.plist
I can't edit PrintLayoutPresets.plist with the Property List Editor and get anything to stick. PrintLayoutPresets.plist also does not have the same fields as PrintPresets.plist - for example there doesn't seem to be a way to set color profiles different for each preset. If I change a color profile in a duplicated preset, the gear menu dies not give me the option to save. Same as if I change the paper size.
Everything else I've tried with Aperture 3 has worked - nothing Aperture 3.0.1 addressed caused me any trouble. This is my only issue (at least so far) with Aperture 3.

Hi Bob
I'm editing a file called PrintPresets.plist which resides at User->Library->ApplicationSupport->Aperture and this does seem to be working with a direct edit of the file. I don't find the PrintLayoutPresets.plist file inside AP3 helps either. Like you apart from this issue everything else seems to be working well, it would be nice to get this solved as well.
I'm off for a few days now I'm not taking my MBP with me - I'll keep an eye on the thread with my iPhone but probably won't respond due to it's form factor. Roll on the iPad for times like this

  • Plug-in preset not saving

    I have to toggle the preset in Massive (NI synth plug-in) to get it to load properly.
    The track shows Massive as the plug-in, Massive shows the right preset when I open it, but it is not sounding right until I toggle the preset to another sound and back again. Also, I have one of the oscillators turned off, and I have to turn it off again every time I start up the project.
    I seem to have intermittent issues with BFD2 not remembering to load my kit, as well.
    It seems that Logic is not saving my 3rd party plug-in settings very well.

  • Print presets not saving

    I never got very good results from printing in Aperture 2, but Aperture 3 seems to have fixed most of my outstanding issues. So I was trying to set up some print presets. Unfortunately, I create a new preset, select Save Preset from the gear menu and it disappears the next time I start Aperture. I can't even seem to find what file Aperture might be storing these presets in, Library > Application Support > Aperture has a PrintPresets.plist file, but I don't see any of the presets in my print dialog in there, and none of those files contain my preset.
    Is anyone else seeing this? Anything I can try to resolve this? I'm on 10.6.2 with an Epson 3800 if that matters.
    Thanks.

    OK, if the permissions thing doesn't work I do have another fix....if you don't mind 'going under the hood'.
    Your plist thing gave me an idea, so what I did, having confirmed that my file, like yours, did not contain any of my saved presets, was make my own in plist. If you decide to try this please make a good copy of your plist file and keep it somewhere safe before you start, and please understand you do this at your own risk. Having scared you sufficiently it is actually quite easy. Open the PrintPresets.plist file, choose one of the existing presets (they are labelled as items) that is closest to the one you wish to create and copy it. Then click plist to navigate back one level and then paste in your new preset. Rename it (user name) and save, then reopen AP3 to confirm your new preset does in fact show up. Assuming it does then you can go back into PrintPreset.plist and tweak the settings to suit. The one thing that tripped me up briefly was the fact that measurements in the plist file are imperial yet in my copy of AP3 I am using metric, simple enough to convert though.
    Again, this is at your own risk, but it worked a treat for me and now I can strart to print with my own presets in AP3. Wish I'd thought of it earlier.
    Good luck if you decide to have a go

  • Printer Presets Not Saving

    It has been discussed on here before without any fixes coming from Apple...
    Essentially the problem is that I'm trying to set one preset for printing all of my documents and another preset that allows me to quickly print photos from Imagebrowser (a Canon program). The problem is that when you think you have saved a preset you really haven't. It just continues to use whatever settings were last used and often a bunch of work has to go in to getting things to print correctly. I know this worked correctly under Tiger. We're at 10.5.4 and Apple still hasn't sorted this out. Does anyone know of a third-party app or Applescripts that could be used to rectify this problem.
    If I missed it, has there been a solution to this problem?

    This issue has been a problem for me since installing Leopard 10.5 upon its release. The fix for me was realizing that the feature settings of the various printers were reset. I had to go into each of the information panels of the print queues and enable Duplex printing, for instance. I do not know why this is not occurring through an automatic query process between the Printer Setup and the Printer itself.
    A serious non-feature I noticed is that a lack of one feature in the Default Printer causes the Preset to lose that feature within an application context. That is, having the Default Printer without Duplex, while having selected a saved Duplex preset will cause the checkbox to be unset and the duplex feature to become unavailable in that preset and application, even after selecting an alternate printer with the Duplex feature designated available. Setting the default printer to the alternate having Duplex and restarting the application (like Preview) causes the Print dialog with Duplex preset to have the checkbox set.
    I checked to see if the preset plist is being overwritten when selecting alternate printers, and it is not.
    It seems that this could be a behavior exhibited by in the Apple Print dialog. It seems to read the Preset one time, perhaps at the first Print command. From there it seems to alter the Preset information, based on the default printer feature set, losing Preset features forever more within that application context. If this is the case, I suggest that Apple maintain a original copy of the Preset plist within the application and merge that upon each alternate printer selection.
    For me, the workaround is to manually designate all of my printers to have Duplex capability.
    I hope you find this useful.
    Sincerely,
    Robert Entriken

  • Landscape Preset Not Saving

    I've just started using my snow leopard laptop to print from my Canon iPixma 4000R printer and I've noticed something weird. I've had a preset for school notes that I used in leopard that successfully transferred over. In the leopard preset I had 4 slides to a page in landscape mode, but for some reason snow leopard refuses to save landscape mode to a preset. Even when I try to make a new preset landscape mode does not save to the preset. Any ideas as to how to rectify this besides remembering to click landscape before everytime i print? Thx for the help

    Hello there. I have tested your symptom on 10.6.1 and can confirm that I can reproduce the same - that is the orientation is not being saved with a preset.
    I tested this with Preview and TextEdit.
    However, this is also the case with Preview and TextEdit on 10.5.8.
    What application were you using on 10.5 that was working for you? The orientation was probably not part of the default print dialog and that is why it was being saved with the preset?
    Also, someone may remember this being a limitation and could add to this. I certainly don't remember this being the case but then I don't think I ever had an orientation preset...

  • User Presets not saved correctly

    I am trying to set up specific 3 User Presets to export files to a given file location.
    But when I return to user presets LR only shows *one* of the 3 locations used and that is set against each of the 3 presets.
    Q: This looks like a bug, as I cannot seem to save the different file locations to a different user preset... or am I doing something wrong ?
    (LR 5.6 on Mac OS 10.9)

    Even I try to Right Click the preset and use the UPDATE WITH CURRENT SETTINGS, this is not working.
    I'm really puzzled by this.

  • FM Radio Presets Not saved if player is powered

    I bought a new Zen Stone Plus GB and have found that the Preset FM Radio stations are deleted when the power is turned off. Please advise on the procedure to save the Preset Radio Stations permanently if possible.

    Folks, Sorry to have bothered you. The document change had multiple change numbers for each of the changes and I was apparently passing the incorrect CDHDR change number to the FM "FKK_DOCUMENT_CHANGE_FROM_ID" which caused it to not reset the changes. Now, I'm able to see the payment method and any other changes restored back once the C4EYE is reset.
    Thanks for your time!!

  • Presets not saved or loaded

    I upgraded (download) recently from CS4 to CS5. Now it appears that several of the PS Tools behave strangely. I cannot save Tool Presets, neither load them with Preset Manager.  Crop Tool only starts the crop from the centre, as does the Move Tool.  (Crop Tool in Bridge still draws the selction from corner to corner.)  Am I missing something simple here?  I can find the presets in Photoshop Preset Tools folder but I do not seem to get them loaded.  Any proposals what I should try?

    Hi Jeffrey, and thanks for your answer,
    It indeed appears that at least crop and selection tools function like the alt key would be pressed.  And pressing alt, shif or keylock keys now make no difference.  However, more annoying are the missing presets.  And incapability to save them anew!  Is this included also in the symptoms of this particular 'incompatibility'?  This renders PS almost unusable!
    Also,  keep my Macs squeeky clean.  I do not have any the third arty utilities which you mention.  The only (unwanted) third party program is the one which was installed during CS5 installation.  I mean the little thing in the top right corner informing me on something coming to my Mac.  Could this cause the problem?  Why is it introduced by Adobe?  I have not updated it although it tells that a newer version is available.  Can I remove it, r is it needed by CS5?  And where do I find it?
    My best regards,
    AmiO

  • Some settings not saved in Presets file

    I'd like to setup my fme environment with preset Xml files
    (and with some dirty scripting hacks, we make the app load them
    automatically).
    Unfortunately, not all the Device settings are saved. There
    is a tuner specific Settings tab whose settings are not saved. So
    if I want to change the actual TV channel I have to use the GUI.
    Other settings (like crossbar_input) are found in the XML file.
    Is there a way to set entries that are not saved by the GUI
    directly in the XML presets file and make fme use them?

    What you're looking for is startup.xml, which will be in the
    application data directory for the current user. On my Vista
    machine, the path looks like this:
    Drive:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Flash Media
    Encoder\startup.xml
    that's where all of the current UI settings are stored. So
    you know, startup.xml is UTF-16 encoded and it needs to stay that
    way, and (for some reason) there needs to be a blank line at the
    end of the file.
    Hope it helps

  • Web module - Upload settings not saved in preset

    Hi,
    When creating a new preset in the Web module, the current upload settings are not saved. Which constantly leads to annoying mistakes when updating a site. I'm aware of bug reports that have been filed about this issue and the answer was "as designed". I tend to consider this as a bug.
    Could someone explain this very strange design choice?
    Thanks.

  • User color choice not saved in export preset?

    I'm currently writing my first plugin and still in a learning curve.
    My export plugin has a color_well control to choose a color. I have defined a default value of LrColor(1,1,1) which works well.
    However, the chosen color is not saved so every time the export dialog is used, it comes up with the default color value and the previously chosen color is lost.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Mario
    Code snippet:
    myPlugin.exportPresetFields = {
        { key = 'borderColor', default = LrColor(1,1,1) },
        ...more keys
    function myPlugin.sectionForFilterInDialog( viewFactory, propertyTable )
        return {
            viewFactory:row {
                viewFactory:color_well {
                    value = LrView.bind('borderColor'),
    end

    Many thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay. It took me DAYS to figure out how to save the r,g & b components.
    Finally, I succeeded with this method:
    myPlugin.exportPresetFields = {
        { key = 'color_r', default = 1 },
        { key = 'color_g', default = 1 },
        { key = 'color_b', default = 1 },
    function myPlugin.sectionForFilterInDialog( viewFactory, propertyTable )
        return {
            viewFactory:row {
                viewFactory:color_well {
                    value = LrView.bind({
                         key = 'borderColor',
                         transform = function ( value, fromTable )
                              if fromTable then
                                  return LrColor(propertyTable.color_r, propertyTable.color_g, propertyTable.color_b)
                              else
                                  propertyTable.color_r = value:red()
                                  propertyTable.color_g = value:green()
                                  propertyTable.color_b = value:blue()
                                  return LrBinding.kUnsupportedDirection
                              end
                         end

  • Last changes not saved??

    Ok I have an issue with Flash CS 5.5
    When creating content and publish the swf and then save the fla file , all seem fine.
    When closing the fla and reopen it later, the last changes I made are not saved??
    This happens NOT every time.
    At first I thought it was me that I didn't save the document before closing, but no this really happens!!
    Never had this issue anywhere, but for now my only option is to stay with CS5.
    Does anyone have similair issues with 5.5?
    Menno
    running Win7x64,  24 GB Ram,  GTX 580

    I am having similar issues with flash CS5.5.
    On the stage in flash I have 4 text blocks. Instead of creating separate instances of each text block, I create one graphic and separate the text blocks into separate layers. Next I put each text block into it's own key frame while on it's own separate layer. So layer one is on frame 1. Layer 2 is on frame two and so on and so forth up until frame 4.
    Now on layer two I put a blank key frame on frame 1 so that the text block for layer 2 does not show up until frame 2. Same with layer 3, and layer 4 with each text block. This is for animation purposes.
    Now I'm back on the main stage and timeline. I bring in an instance of the new graphic symbol I've made. I go into my properties pallet down to the loop option and tell the graphic to play single frame and it's first frame is frame 1 then I put in a motion tween, the new motion tween NOT the classic tween. I do this so I can use some preset animations that I've created. I then drag that instance of that animation I just created a little on farther down the timeline. I then go to my properties pallet and change the frame it's supposed to play from frame 1 to frame 2. Still using the play single frame looping option. I do this until I get all 4 text blocks to come in as I need them and when I need them.
    Also after each animation is done, I put in a blank key frame by hitting the F7 button to insert one after the animation is done. I've attached a screen shot of my main timeline and also a screen shot of what the inside of my graphic instance is supposed to look like when I finish editing it to look as I need to to do as I want it to do, to help explain my issue. As you can see from the image, I have several key frames inserted on a layer above the motion tweens after the motions end. At these key frames I input the frame number that the previous animation just played. This saves on layers, and saves on creating several graphics which reduces my file size because I am using the same instance of one graphic instead of instances of multiple graphics.
    Now the problem is after I save the file and close it out, I then re-open the file and the graphic I just created reverts to the initial creation of said graphic. So all text blocks of my text are on frame 1, layer 1. All the layers I created, all the work I did in creating that graphic is gone. The animations are still in place, and the frame numbers for the looping option are still in place. In fact the looping option of single frame is still in place. It's the graphics that continuously revert backwards instead of staying as I've made them to be.
    This also happens with drawn objects that I've converted to a graphic symbol and groups of images I've converted to a graphic symbol doing the exact same thing I did for the text blocks only using either drawings via the drawing tools in flash or bringing in bitmap images. Note this does NOT affect buttons or movie clips as far as I know. This is something that has been going on for weeks since I've upgraded to CS5.5 flash. It doesn't make sense and it should not be doing this. I had no problems like this using CS4. My clients required that I use CS5 because they were updating to CS5 so I did as requested. Now I run into this problem. It makes for extra work, my clients are not happy with this happening and I need a fix as soon as possible.

  • InDesign CS2 PDF presets not loading

    I have none of the predefined joboptions for PDF listed and cannot load them - I get an error message "Cannot import presets from this file". The joboptions are all correctly in the Library/application support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings folder. Also it will not even allow me to create a new file - it says "Cannot create the file. The folder may be write protected". I have gone through and made sure all folders are unlocked etc.
    What is happening? Anybody else had this happen?

    I have just discovered what was wrong. I have CS2 but also Acrobat Professional 8. I have just found a forum called InDesignSecrets.com and there I found that in CS2 the folder the joboptions are kept in is in a slightly different place - see below:
    "Finally, where are PDF preset files saved? I left the technicalities of this until the end because most of you wont know or care (you dont need to know this location to use PDF presets in InDesign). However, for the techies among us, here is where PDF presets (both the default and customized settings) reside in Adobe Creative Suite 2 and Distiller 7:
    Macintosh: Library > Application Support > Adobe PDF > Settings
    Windows: Documents and Settings > All Users > Shared Documents > Adobe PDF > Settings
    One other technical note is that this location has changed for Acrobat 8 Professional (and presumably Adobe Creative Suite 3). The file format for the .joboptions file hasnt changed, however. The default settings are stored in these locations:
    Macintosh: Library > Application Support > Adobe > Adobe PDF > Settings
    Windows: Documents and Settings > All Users > Application Data > Adobe > Adobe PDF > Settings"
    Note that for CS2 the Adobe PDF is in the Application Support folder not in the Adobe folder in the Application Support folder. So I just copied the Adobe PDF folder and dropped it straight into the Application Support folder leaving the original where it was (as I need it there for Acrobat 8). I then restarted InDesign and hey presto the preset job options came in automatically - hooray!

  • Media selection not saved in Print dialog

    When I select my Media, Quality and Bit Depth in the "Main" window in the Print dialog, they are not saved even though I select Save Current Settings as Preset. They change back to Plain Paper, 300 dpi and 8-bit. This will not work for high quality photo printing on my Canon iPF5000 printer. I've tried many different settings but nothing I have tried will get my settings to be saved and used. What are the "magic words" because the ones I've been using are not working?
    I can print from Photoshop through a Canon 16-bit plug-in using my normal print paper profiles and get excellent results so the printer is working just fine. I am using the latest Canon print driver and firmware. I think if I could get the correct media type, quality and bit depth in the printer driver, I'd get good results as well. I have a new paper profiling device that can only print the test patches through the print driver... so I'm stuck so far.
    Your help is appreciated.
    OS X 10.9.2, Mac Pro 3.33 Ghz 6-core, 24 GB RAM

    I discovered the root of my problem. Canon does not have a printer driver for my iPF5000 that runs under Mavericks. My workaround was to load Mountain LIon on a separate drive and use the Canon supported print driver for OS X 10.8.x. Running under 10.8 worked and I was able to successfully input and send the media type to the printer. I was making printer paper profiles with a new x-rite ColorMunki Photo.
    After creating the paper profile, I copied it over to Mavericks where I use Canon's 16-bit plug-in in Photoshop to send print jobs to the iPF5000. This apparently uses a slightly different print driver than the stand-alone print driver since it works just fine. The profiles create prints that are a very close match to the screen images.
    Whether or not Canon will support Mavericks for the iPF5000 is anybody's guess since it's an older printer.

    When i omit the line OutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(saveFile);
    and write only
    ImageIO.write((RenderedImage) bufferedImage, outExtension,saveFile);
    //out.flush();
    then saving the image even in "png" also fails.
    The following is the error code:
    Note : FileMenuController is my file where the saveImage() is wrtten.
