I am trying to purchase a back up car charger for my iPad2 and iPhone. I've compared price and found GrabIt charger has the best price and it's selling in the local stores http://http://shop.grabitcase.com/index.php?cPath=41&osCsid=6f0e77dcf06f3ed533df 8e019648aec7 but I need to know if this is Apple licensed product or not? Some people say this GrabIt charger is certified by Apple, but some people say it's a copy accessory. I need help before making the purchase because I am afraid it would damage my iPads. Thank you. While playing movies may be more computationally intensive than navigating through icons on your device, playing games with interaction may push the limits beyond usability. This I understand and appreciate.

However, maintaining at least one release version, especially less than 1 year old, isn't exactly asking too much. Although we are all quite aware that purchasing new equipment is the convenient solution, you can't help having an audience with new technology and hardware purchased within the last year be somewhat disappointed. This would have been a nice feature. It is what it is.

Charger for ipad and iphones

I am loooking for some recommendations on a charger accessory. We have 2 iphone 5s and an ipad air. The iphones have otterbox cases.
They all using the lightening conenctor. Right now we have a tangle of charging cables.
I am looking for some kind of charging system or dock that will decrease the clutter. It needs to work with the lightning connector, handle 3 units (2 iphones and an ipad), and be able to charge them all simultaneously. I have found it suprisingly difficult to find a good product.
Any recommendations?

Wattage is a measure of power, not of voltage.
The difference is the amount of power the adapter can provide.
"Excess" power is not an issue, the lack of power is.
So for example, if you try and charge an iPad with a lower wattage adapter, it may not charge at all or will take longer to charge.
But it will not hurt to charge your iPhone or iPod with the higher power iPad adapter.

Airplay mirroring for iPad2 and iPhone 4s

All my current, and less than 1 year old iOS devices, cannot use this feature. How is it that I can Airplay movies and music fine but iOS 5 mirroring requires new hardware. Come ON!

If you are traveling in Europe, do you need both an adapter AND a voltage regulator to charge the IPad2 and the iphone? Or, the reverse, will it hurt either if I use both the adapter AND the voltage convertor?

You may only need adapters for the different kind of sockets, depending of the country you want to travel. A voltage converter is not needed.
The Apple power units are multi voltage devices, supporting a range from 110 V to 240 V. as you can see on the labels. O.K. for most of the labels you need a magnifier, but its on them.

Imac is 4 months old. Using installed Outlook for Mac 2011 but now want to use ical so that I can start to use iCloud to sync with my Ipad2 and iPhone. How do I move my calendar from outlook to ical on the iMac?

This is my first attempt at using this forum so please be patient with me. I am new to the apple world. Bought an Imac desktop computer back in October and installed Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 because I was used to Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and outlook. Now I am being told that I should be using ical for my calendar so that I will be better able to move to icloud for use between my Imac, Ipad2, and Iphone.
The question is: how do I move my calendar which is in "Outlook for Mac 2011" into ical on my Mac? Do I have to remove the Outlook entries from the computer and reinstall them back to the same machine or can I somehow move calendar entries within the machine? I appreciate any help I can get. You will need to setup a new Apple ID for your sister. You have to have an Apple ID and iDevice connected and using that account to get an iCloud account.

This did not work for us. Nothing did. After hours on the phone with Apples leading to an "executive" support person who was on my Mac via a live session could not figure out why the Apple apps don't work and my other apps lock up. Could be the charger, cable or the iPad.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.

Well, they offer all those functions--Mail has Notes and To-dos show up in both Mail and iCal, plus Address Book. Clearly someone made the fundamental decision that separate integrated programs were better than an all-in-one, so I wouldn't expect an all-in-one from Apple in any foreseeable future. What would be interesting---and may exist, I haven't looked---would be if a third-party used the open access to iCal/Address Book info to build an all-in-one that integrated with Apple's separate apps, which could provide seamless iPhone/OS X integration while still letting people have the unified interface. Postbox uses Address Book but I didn't see any calendar/notes features in my quick check. Lots of apps build better replacements for Apple's individual programs--BusyCal, I think a Mail replacement, etc---but nothing unified that I've heard of.
However, my point was that you may be better off grabbing Entourage 2008 while it is still available than waiting for Outlook 2011, which is going to be a different program. Sometimes features go backwards, and Missing Sync compatibility may change or be delayed with Outlook 2011. I don't see the advantage of hanging onto PD until the very last minute.
