GraceNotes shuts down iTunes program

Since the last upgrade when I submit CD track names to GraceNotes iTunes has quit working and closed. Anyone have any ideas about what is going on? I haven't added any new software. Thanks!

I was working with second level Apple support guys all day yesterday and the only fix which worked, somewhat, was to go back to the last release of iTunes which does import successfully to the Nano. Even that doesn't get the data from Gracenotes correctly (either selects wrong data or none) but at least it allows getting data to the ipod. Strange, every CD loads 1:58:13 regardless of the book. Unfortunately, once the back version was installed, I could no longer use the iPod Touch because that pre-reqs the Newer version with the newer OS. So.... I'm loading up my CD's to the Nano and then will upgrade to
the the newer iTunes again. The touch isn't loading pictures correctly either: after about 10% are loaded, the rest is garbage even though the
sync seems to go smoothly. What is it with Apple? One does have to wonder how
much testing is done before a release is published.

This will fix it.  It's from another conversation.  Sony Singh posted this.
    Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes

  • Updating iTunes Match Shuts Down iTunes

I recently subscribed to iTunes Match, and every time I try to sync my library, it shuts down the program. Steps 1 & 2 are completed, and after hours of waiting, about halfway through step 3, iTunes quits on me. I have upgraded to the latest version of iTunes. I am using a PC with Windows Vista. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to actually use my new account!

    Hi,
Try holding shift key whilst signing out of match. This will clear genius / match cache. Restart itines, sign into iTunes then activate match. You will be asked to add this computer. Select and let process complete.

  • I have Windows 7. When I try to print an album cover on a CD I burned, I get an error message that  there is a problem and it shuts down iTunes and says will notify me once the problem is fixed

I have iTunes version 11.3.1.2 and a Windows 7 Professional aith Service Pack 1.  When I try to print a CD cover from a disc I burned, I get an error message that stops the printing task and shuts down iTunes and tells me once the problem is found they will notify me.  When this happened before I got sent a message from Apple that I needed to install a new verion of iTunes.  I believe I now have the latest iTunes version.  So why can't I print?
Is this the problem below?  Does the graphics driver cause the problem?
Solve a problem with NVIDIA Graphics Driver
NVIDIA Graphics Driver has stopped working properly.
A driver update, if available, might prevent this problem from recurring.

Try a different media. I have good luck using Maxell discs.

  • Data Execution Prevention shutting down iTunes even with exception added

Well, was having this problem, it miraculously fixed itself for like a day but now it is happening again. Data Exectuion Prevention for Windows keeps shutting down iTunes. I have gone into the DEP settings and added an exception for it to not apply to iTunes but it is still happening every time I open iTunes. Today I downloaded and installed the new version of iTunes, hoping that would make a difference, but it is still happening. Also, since I installed that version about an hour ago, iTunes keeps opening itself without me telling it to--every five minutes I see it opening without me doing anything and then immediately being closed by DEP. I am getting very frustrated. Thanks in advance for any help.

I had the same issue after my recent update of iTunes.  I didn't update Quicktime 'cuz I don't use it much (or at all).  On another thread discussing the same issue, I saw that the Quicktime installation can affect iTunes.  So I downloaded the latest Quicktime, installed, redooted - issue fixed (for now).

  • HT201413 Why does Data Execution Protection or lack thereof keep shutting down iTunes

Why does Data Execution Protection or lack thereof keep shutting down iTunes?

Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call?  You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.

  • When launching Firefox, I always get a message that my previous session cannot load, even though I always go to a blank page before shutting down the program.

When I open the Firefox browser, it tries to reload the last page/tab I was on before shutting down the program the last time. My home page is a blank page, and I always go to that before shutting down.

I have had exactly this problem - Firefox - version 11, but when I updated all my plug-ins (go to Customize Firefox - about halfway down - '''''Check your plugins''''') and restarted Firefox the problem vanished. Hope this helps as this seems to be a fairly large issue.

  • Shutting down iTunes causes system to slow down

When ever I shut down iTunes my computer slows down considerably. When I check windows task manager under processes it shows iTunes to be still active and taking up about 90% of my system resources. I have to shut down iTunes in task manager to solve this problem. Does anyone know what may cause this?

When your mailboxes were moved to Office 365, your directory should have been updated so it pointed to the mailboxes in Office 365, not to your local Exchange 2003 mailboxes.  Just thinking this through, I think your consultant didn't do a complete
job.  With the Exchange 2013 PowerShell tools, you should be able to update your 500 accounts so they point to the proper system for the mailboxes.

When synchronizing my iphone4 on the computer it errors out when optimizing the photos and shuts down iTunes.  Any idea what to do to get the synch working?

OKay, here is the deal. You cannot change the location of encrypted files nor can you share them with other machines. There is no file server for iTunes so even if you export the movie index from iTunes to an external volume, each time you reboot your computer itunes has to reindex the external drive every time you want to access the files. The second you run your mobile computer without the external drive or try to access the HD movies from another device or another user on the same network, the indexing gets out of synch. The entire process is self defeating regardless. The HD movies are encapsulized by apple to stream to your devices via iCloud and NOT via Cloud. Only your TV can play 1080p. That single file you download from iTunes has mutiple versions of the same video in the capsul, one version for each type of apple device. There are no 1080p apple devices except for the Apple TV. When you buy a movie you are buying a license and not the movie. It's going to get worse with all the new copywrite laws. Already you cant share any apple devices with other itunes accounts. Your airport express just stopped streaming music to all users on the local home sharing Cloud. Only the one user for each device and soon only airplay speakers connected directly to the device. No more passthru via your TV and no more file sharing with other accounts on the same wi-fi. All the ISPs are doing the same thing. And soon everybody will be buying their phones and TV's and iPads from the cabble guy.
Apple has done a poor job of educating the consumer as to the difference between the Cloud and iCloud. They are not the same at all.
