Hi there,
I am trying to set up grade related pay in an organization where there are a large number of employees with multiple assignments. It is my understanding that the flexible Grade Ladder Functionality can only be used against the primary assignment. Is my understand correct?
For this reason I am now resorting to the use of the old grade and payscales functionality. I have set up payscales, point values and grade steps and points and have assigned them to the employees assignments.
How do I then populate the salary admin screen with the grade rate and also pick up the value and use it to process basic pay.
Having wasted time setting up grade ladders, any advice on this would be very greatly appreciated

How to calculate the retropay for a company who has grade rates & not notch
Hey everyone
I am trying to calculate the arrears of bunch of employees, the company has the grade rates i.e. salaries are defined as minimum , maximum Mid Value.
Navigation: Grade>Grade Rate
Now when i run the retropay by element process i am failing to get the element of Arrears or Retropay attahced automaticaly to the pay period i am trying to run.
I have worked on 11i retropay by element for Grade Steps and Points, but i am a bit new to the Grade rate thing and the Salary Basis.
I feel like i am missing some steps some where.
kindly help me out of this issue as i am stuck.

System raise warning rather than error on Grade Rate
We have defined grad rate on min & max value, but when we define salary beyond the range then system just showing as warning instead off raising error.
How can we raise an error and system not allow to enter out of range. is there any functionality?

Incorrect Grade Scales and Scale Rates
Hi Gurus
Could you please give me your input on the following issue:
My client is a South African government department and are using Pay Scales, Scale Rate (Point values), and Grade Rates (Grade Steps and Points) for Pay progression etc. They went live on 1st march 2009.
During July 2010, due to government retsructuring of the Pay Scales and Grade Rates, we end dated the old Pay Scales and Grade Rates and implemented a new Pay Scale and new Grade Rates.
Now the client realises that the Pay Scales and the Scale Rate were incorrect during the period 1st April to 30 June 2009. Some employees have been overpaid
for that period. Although the client has handled the recovery of overpaid salaries manually (outside the Oracle Payroll), they need the Pay Scales and Grade Rates corrected because of future retro pays.
We are at a point where there have been many changes to employees Grade and Grade Step records and various changes to the various Pay Scales. Is there any other way of handling this situation without having to delete historical records and recapturing the history after correction?

Thanks for your reply.
The attached files are the correct .wrl file and the one read from LabVIEW.
The colored is incorrect, the car is seperated to some parts, and the scale of some of the parts are wrong.
I think you can use any .wrl reader to read the wrl file I posted, all the reader I tried can read it successfully besides LabVIEW.
In the vi I have you can try to adjust the scale or rotate it then I think you can find the seperated car parts.

Linking Payroll and Grade to Salary Basis
Hi All,
Can any body help me in understanding how the payrolls , grades and grades will be linked. The extent to which I understand them is :
1. Grade Rates are assigned to Salary basis . ( Grade Rates group Grades with their salary ranges).
2. Payroll is linked to Salary Basis through the element link -> element -> Element in Salary Basis.
In this way also we are getting multiple salary basis for a given grade or payroll.
If it is assumed that salary basis, payrolls and grades are independent elements then why is there a way to link Salary Basis and Grade , Salary Basis -> Element -> Element Link -> Payroll.
Can aybody shed some light on this.

Grade Salary Limits on Salary Administration form

Is there a way to populate the Grade Salary Limits side of the Salary Administration form automatically based on the grade rate?
Currently only the Grade and currency fields are populated and not the min / max salary fields?

Right now we have setup all configuration like grad, Rate, pay scale, Point values and grad step and points, also attache with employee but when we run request increment there is not move to the next grade steps.

Just solve the problem->
I was doing this in my api: P_EFFECTIVE_DATE => TO_DATE(L_CUT_OFF,'DD-MON-YYYY')
So I removed the date format: P_EFFECTIVE_DATE => TO_DATE(L_CUT_OFF) then it worked.
What a misguiding error it gave!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for invalid primary key

How to stop attribute level validation when entity validator fails?

Can you suggest any way to achieve the desired behaviour on the following scenario.
Table contains the following columns
1. Grade
2. Grade Rate
3. Status
Constraints:
1. Grade and Grade Rate together must be unique.
2. Grade and Grade Rate are mandatory fields.
Implementation:
1. Have Mandatory validator at attribute level for Grade and Grade Rate by default.
2. Alternate key is defined based on Grade and Grade Rate and added the same as Entity validator.
User operation scenario:
User adds a row in a table, entered 'GradeOne' as Grade, tabbed out and then entered '5 %' as Grade Rate (Existing row of the VO has a row with similar data already). When user try to navigate to other row, both validation at attribute level and entity level fires and gives the following error messages.
Error Msg 1. Grade and GradeRate should be unique.
Error Msg 2. Attribute GradeRate is required.
Expected behaviour:
I can understand the reason why ADF throws both the errors (coz it didn't consider the invalid value of GradeRate posted into attribute), but the error messages confuses the user. It would be great if he get only one error message in this scenario (i.e. Unique validation alone)
Question:
How can I restrict in such a way that only one error validation happens in a request (i.e. either attribute level or entity level or in a particular order}

Depending on here the salary elements are configured, looking at salary proposal is fine if your salaries are all ad hoc salary basis.......however if the structure is grade rates / spinal salaries etc this might not work.
Not sure what legislation you're running on but in the UK you could always use the rates histroy functionality if the elements are configured to use it.

Need assistance for seeded element configuration in payroll for SA Legislation

I am implementing Oracle Fusion Global Payroll for SA Legislation. I referred workforce setup guide for Payroll and supplemental guide for HR and Payroll implementation of SA Legislation.
However, I am not able to figure out precise configurations needed for Transport Allowance calculation and feed its value to GOSI for further calculations.

Could anyone elaborate configuration needed to achieve below mentioned requirement? As per seeded configuration, system generates Fast Formula for calculation. But element and formula by itself does not achieve required functionality. I know there is additional configuration needed in system but not sure how to proceed ahead with it. I have completed all steps mentioned in above mentioned two documents and yet stuck with non-functioning element.
Basic Salary: 1000 SAR
Transport: 10% of Basic Salary (Based on Grade Eligibility)
I am specifically expediting functionality as below
1. Manage calculation value definition
2. Manage Component Group Rules (if applicable)
3. Attach % Grade Rate to value definition

As I mentioned earlier, I added the appropriate balances which are used to calculate Tax to Retro Elements and those Balances got updated with the delta amount but Tax was not updated. I want to know is there any process provided by Oracle using which Tax for those already paid amounts can be recalculated.
I calculated the Tax manually and using Adjust Balance form added ZA_TAX_BALANCE_ADJUSTMENT Element and given the difference tax amount in PAYE and Tax Input values and saved the form. The Tax got updated.
Tax_ASG_RUN - 15000
Tax_ASG_TAX_YTD - 153257.32 (Prev - 138257.32). When I run the IRP5 (Tax Certificate Process) the tax is also getting correctly on it.
But client wants Oracle to calculate the Tax for those retro amounts so thats the challenge.
Could you help me with this.

Can someone please help me? The Standard form does not seem to fulfill the needs and when I open forumlas PTO_PAYROLL_BALANCE_CALCULATION, PTO_PAYROLL_CARRYOVER I am unable to understand exaclty which part of the code should be modified.

WoqarTo achieve your requirement, you need to change the accrual sub formula PTO_PAYROLL_PERIOD_ACCRUAL. Follow the below steps.
A.Create a pl/sql function :
1. Create a new Pl/Sql Function in similar lines with parameters as p_assignment_id, p_date_earned, p_plan_id and p_number_of_years;
2. The new function should call the pl/sql function per_utility_functions.Get_Accrual_Band passing values of p_plan_id and p_number_of_years.
3. After the above function call, invoke your custom procedure to get the accrual value based on grade (passing p_assignment_id and p_date_earned as parameters).
4. call the procedure per_formula_functions.set_number to set the ceiling value.
So overall your function should like this

C. Copy the Formula PTO_PAYROLL_PERIOD_ACCRUAL and replace the entry of Get_Accrual_Band with your custom formula function defined in step B.
D. Copy the formula PTO_PAYROLL_BALANCE_CALCULATION and replace the entry of PTO_PAYROLL_PERIOD_ACCRUAL with your custom formula defined in step C.

In Pages 09 we can do Mail Merge and Import Styles from a document. Can someone please explain how we can do this with the new version of Pages 5.1. Even Apple solutions are only valid for Pages Version 09. What a DOWN GRADE! Thank god Pages 09 is still there.

I just updated to the new final cut pro x 10.1.1 and i am also on mavericks so but on my editing timeline i was trying to color grade using magic bullet looks but i am having problem with it. When i send a sample to MBL and color grade it , it comes back to final cut pro x all black even after render. By the way on the MBL i am using the GPU rendering, I used before like 4months ago and it was fine. And i don't like to use the CPU because it very slow.
What is the frame rate of the project? At what frame rate was the media recorded? What frame size?
What are the audio settings?
What are the specs of the machine, in particular how much RAM, how is the hard drive connected, etc.?
If possible, post screenshots of the inspector for the project.
It could be related to the audio frequency?
