Gradient fill angle snaps back to  - And Undo and history are buggy.

Just installed Adobe Photoshop CC suite on new Mac Pro, Maverick OS, equiped with Waccom Tablet.
Issues:
Gradient Fill on Shape layer refuses to snap to entered angle. It simply returns to 0
Double click the layer type -90
Layer rotates in preview.
Click OK
Layer returns to original position ?
Undo does not undo using hotkeys OR menus and the history list has issues moving back one step.
If anyone has an solution to any of these question i'd be happy to know how to fix them.
Thank you.

Aha! Yes it was the grouped items. I still have a problem where the colour seems to go solid, but I think that's just my monitor. When I redefine the gradient with contrasting colours (as opposed to 2 shades of red as it should be) it all works, so I will try this at work tomorrow and fingers crossed a lot of time will be saved.
Thanks!

  • [AS] Set Gradient Fill Angle

I am using XTags to build a document in ID, but for some reason all my gradient fills have a 0degree angle and they all need changing to 90deg.
I can change a single box successfully, so I know the 'core' line of script works. My problem is finding a loop that does the job. The results are erratic. If the boxes with the fills are part of a group they don't change. If I ungroup everything (which I don't want to do as each group is a product image, description, price and need to move together), then a change happens - but although the gradient box shows 90deg, the boxes all look to be filled with solid red (instead of light to dark red as they should be).
This is the sort of thing I'm playing with:
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CS5"
    tell document 1
set gradboxes to object reference of every text frame whose name of fill color is "PromotionTypeGradient"
    repeat with i in gradboxes
    tell i
set gradient fill angle to 90
    end tell
    end repeat
    end tell
    end tell
I tried doing this with find/change, but got the same result - the fill seems to be solid red.
Any suggestions? Is my approach fundamentally wrong?
    Thanks
    Emma

  • Browsing history is set to "delete on exit" from Firefox however cookies and history are still listed in Internet Explorer - which I never use. Why??

Firefox is set to delete browsing history on exit. Appears to be working fine. However, if I open Internet Explorer - after closing Firefox - my cookies and history are listed in Internet Explorer. I have to go to Tools >Options> Internet History and delete everything manually. (Internet Explorer is also set to delete history on exit.
Why are my cookies and history being transferred from Firefox to Internet Explorer?

    Thanks cor-el for the reply.
Do not have any MS plugins that I'm aware of. No Silverlight, etc.
How can I tell if Windows Media player is plugged in to FF?
No IE View or IE tab.
Not a major problem because I can go in and delete manually--minor hassle.
Have had the same problem across several FF updates. Just curious why this is happening.

  • Cache, cookies and history are not clearing when I close Firefox even though they are set to do so and have been for ages

I recently had an update (or upgrade?) for FF 16. Today (and I believe the update was done a day or two ago?) my cache, cookies and history are not clearing when I close FF. Also, certain links are not working. Not links for full web pages but for site pop-ups (like the smilie window on a message board). They worked a few days but are not working today. I click the link and nothing happens. I noticed the problem with the cookies not clearing for a few weeks ago but it was only on one site not all sites which is what's happening now.
My apologies if that's a little confusing. Thanks!

At any rate, have you tried running Firefox in Private Browsing mode? This will ensure that no infromation from your session is saved once you exit Private Browsing mode and/or exit Firefox.
You can set Firefox to always start in Private Browsing mode: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-browse-web-without-saving-info#w_how-do-i-always-start-firefox-in-private-browsing

  • I just updated to 25.0 and I noticed the History drop down menu has been simplified and Back, Forward and Home are now gone. Can these be restored?

I am running on a Mac (Lion) with FF 25.0. I typically hide the toolbar because I like to max out my screen space without having to go into full screen mode. So I typically use a custom keyboard command to navigate forward and back during my browser session, but occasionally the keyboard command fails and the page is unresponsive. In the past all I had to do was go up to the History drop down menu and choose "Back" or "Forward". I would also use the "Home" selection to get back to my homepage. But ever since I updated to 25.0 those selection are now gone from the History menu.
Is there any way to restore them? And are they gone for all users (was this a global change) or are one of my add-ons simply not playing nice and causing this problem? TIA!

On WinXP Back, Forward, and Home was last in the Firefox 3.6 versions and disappeared as of Firefox 4.0 - and hasn't been seen since.
Doesn't the Mac OSX versions of Firefox have Back and Forward in the context menu (right-click), as Windows and Linux versions do?

  • I get an error when starting firefox on several user profiles: the bookmarks and history are not functional something about the file being in use.

Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7 workstations, the appdata folder is redirected to a network share at \\server\profiles and several users are unable to use bookmarks getting an error about the file being in use. I'm wondering if maybe my antivirus (Trend Micro) or my backups (Symantec) might be locking up the places.sqlite for these users? Though I don't understand why it would be for some users and not others. I can't be the first one and I'm not coming up with anything searching google endlessly. Anybody else run into this?

hello, yes this is likely caused by an external program locking access to the bookmarks/history database. you could try renaming the file in question & see if it is working when it is regenerated, this will clear bookmarks and the history though, so keep a backup...

  • BACK UP AND DOWNLOAD AREA

Hi, I´m creating different webpages in IWEB. First of all I wonder how to make a back up of all the sites I make. Where are they stored on the computer?
Second question: I like to make a press area where other people can download pdf´s and jpegs. Is that possible in IWEB?

Yes. There are several ways to approach this, but +"PDF viewers"+ offer a download button and other features such as full-screen mode... Start a free web-based blog at Posterous:
    http://posterous.com/faq
Then simply email your PDFs to your Posterous blog and they'll be automatically posted to Scribd and embedded into your Posterous blog — here's an example:
    http://dont-panic.posterous.com/crash-report-example
Then, in iWeb, set up various text or image hyperlinks to the Posterous blog entries containing your PDFs. By the way, Scribd allows PDFs to be embedded directly into your iWeb site, but you may find it easier to use Posterous.

  • I opened firefox only to have it download a new version w/o my permission. Now all my bookmarks and history are missing. How do I get them back. Also, I'm having problems getting my emails to load. How do I get my bookmarks back and my emails to load?

So far your suggestion is to install an additional 16 plug-ins just to fix a problem that did not exist before this was downloaded on my computer? No. Try again.

Firefox 3.6+ versions have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.
Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark. <br />
The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.

  • When Firefox 3.5.16 is opened in OS 10.6 on Mac, the bookmarks and history are missing as well as back/forward arrows not working.

I have a laptop running Firefox 3.5.16 and Mac OS 10.6.5. I used my computer last night without any problem. This afternoon, I had a USB modem plugged in when I started my machine and at first Firefox said it couldn't connect. After removing the USB modem, I restarted without it in the machine, then connected to the Internet and started Firefox. I had a Firefox error message about bookmarks not working due to another application using them. I checked the troubleshooting pages, but for the most part they applied to a Windows machine.

    I finally found a solution. In about:config, under browser.sessionhistory.max_entries, I changed 5 to 20. End of problem.

  • All of my tabs and history are missing after my computer updated and restarted. I had over 140 tabs open! HELP!!!!

Last night my computer (Win 7 Dell laptop - Firefox) did an update. It restarted and when I turned it back on, the computer gave me a message that said "preparing your desktop" before I could log in. When I logged in, it was almost as if the computer was brand new - the desktop theme was new, it said my mouse was ready to use, and then it said that internet explorer 10 was updated. I clicked on Firefox as usual, expecting it to give me the screen where it asks me if I want it to restore all of my tabs, and it was the Mozilla home page and firefox was barebones in the sense that it didn't have any of my add-ons, or even the basic, file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools, help buttons on the screen. When I went into the history, it only had today listed, and no websites!!! I am freaking out and I really need to know how to get everything back to the way it was. I had a Personas add-on with 36 backgrounds that I adored, and I don't want to have to go back and re-download all of my add-ons, not to mention there is no way, I would be able to remember or pick up where I left off with all of those tabs I need for work. Please help me!

That is a Windows temporary profile, not the fault of Firefox, but something (possibly a windows update, they rolled a bunch out today) corrupted your Windows profile. http://www.sysprobs.com/fix-temporary-profile-windows-7 can help you, this will also bring back your Firefox data.

  • S5 Active Clock wrong and texts are buggy

Last night, my phone decided to change the time an hour back,  So I woke up at 6:30 instead of 5:30 causing me to be late for work.  BIG PROBLEM!!    How the h*ll can I get this resolved before I am late to work again?   Also, when I send a text, the response I get will show up... before my text?  on the screenExample.. Friend-{On my way} Me-{Where are you}   <--- I send this text..  But when I get a response it will appear above it. It bugs me.  This phone is getting glitchy and I am getting irritated.  Help ATT! Also, I have tried the resetting, pull the battery, blah blah blah!

Hi there! @Okiejoe86 thanks for posting your concerns.
I’m sorry to hear you are having issues with your S5 Active. The texting issue you are experiencing is related to the incorrect time on your phone.
To sort this out, please visit us online at www.att.com/devicehowto/ and select the make and model of your phone.
On the right hand column, select settings, then Date & Time for steps to adjust it. Please ensure you check the automatic date & time option in those settings so that the phone goes by the network time, to avoid the text messages from seeming out of order.
    Hope this helps!

  • Tabs And History are not syncing

On my iPhone 4, with the updated Firefox Home app, my bookmarks sync, but I show zero tabs and zero history. I have open tabs on the main pc. The bookmarks seem to sync fine.

    Hi Ostrich,
You can't see all your history, but you can search your history and find the sites that you navigated. If you want to see the youtube videos that you saw last week you can type "youtube" in the search bar and you will see all the youtube pages that you have navigated.
If you want to remember what was the site about cats that you visited, you can also type "cats" and you will get the site in return.
    I hope this is helpful.
    Best,
    Ibai

  • Just updated to Firefox 7. Even though I have checked the appropriate boxes in the "Privacy" menu for clearing history and password when Firefox closes, all passwords and history are there next time I start Firefox.

I had this set up in previous versions of Firefox. After updating to 7, it no longer works. I went to "Tools" "Options" "Privacy" I checked "clear history when Firefox closes" I also went to settings and checked all the boxes. Then clicked OK. I closed Firefox, waited a few minutes, started it again, and all my history and passwords loaded on startup. Why?

I'm a little puzzled that your post shows Firefox 29.0.1 but you said you updated this week (Firefox 32.0 was released this week). ???
One of your settings is '''places.history.enabled''' = false, which could be a problem for saving history. I'm not sure how that could have gotten switched. Could you check here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Privacy
Under "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history" make sure you have the settings you want.
Note: I think I have read that if Firefox is set to clear history at shutdown, then Firefox might not save any history during your session.
Can you find an Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop? If the Reset feature ran, your old data would be in that folder and we could discuss how to restore them.

  • In Adobe CC 2014 has the styling options been removed for gradient fills and inner shadows?

I was just setting up a simple button and can't seem to find the way to fill it with a gradient fill or apply an inner shadow to one of the states.

    Hi Gary,
Here is the option for the gradient fill, http://prntscr.com/3woegn and here is the option for the inner glow, which can be used to create the effect of inner shadow, http://prntscr.com/3wofmd
